Bob Schwahn | Lead Pastor | November 23, 2025 Referenced Scripture: Acts 1:3-8, 1 Peter 2:12, John 4:39-42 Reflection Questions: 1. Was there something from the sermon that stood out to you? Explain. 2. When you hear that you are God's plan A to TELL the world that Jesus is King and to SHOW what the world what the Kingdom of Jesus looks like, how do you respond to that? Thoughts, emotions, desires??? Why? 3. How have you seen God use you as a witness for Jesus and His Kingdom? How would you desire to see God use you? Explain. 4. What challenges or barriers have you faced in being a witness for Jesus? What would it take for you to overcome those challenges? 5. Being a ‘witness' means we SHOW and TELL. We SHOW the world what the Kingdom of Jesus looks like and we TELL the world how to make Jesus their King. Why is both SHOWING and TELLING essential to help people come to faith in Jesus and to follow Him? 6. In Jesus' Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) he outlines what His Kingdom looks like. Read through that and make observations of what the world looks like when Jesus is King.Is that a compelling vision of the world to you? Do you imagine it would be compelling to others? Explain. 7. When telling the story of your life of faith, why would it be important to share authentically (joys, challenges, questions, failures, hope)? What is the cost of not being authentic about our faith? 8. Read John 4 about the Samaritan women. What made her an unlikely candidate for being a witness for Jesus? How did God use her INVITE to change the world? 9. Read John 4:39-42 How could God use you to INVEST and INVITE someone in your world to “come and see” the King and the Kingdom? Who are at least 5 people you could pray for and invite to join you at Journey between now and Christmas? What's your next step? * Connect: We'd love to connect with you! Marvel just upended the superhero landscape with their Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal, bringing back not just the expected MCU characters but a shocking array of original X-Men actors from the 20th Century Fox universe. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, and Alan Cumming will all reprise their iconic roles alongside Robert Downey Jr.'s return as Doctor Doom rather than Iron Man.The five-hour livestream announcement confirmed the Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts teams will feature prominently, while surprisingly omitting Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. This Earth-focused approach suggests we might be heading toward an "Avengers vs. X-Men" scenario, with Tom Hiddleston's Loki potentially holding a pivotal role in navigating the multiverse chaos.Beyond Marvel's bombshell, we cover Disney's Snow White box office disappointment ($42.2M domestic opening against a $250M budget), Coco 2's announcement for 2029, and Assassin's Creed Shadows becoming Ubisoft's second-biggest launch despite online controversy. The gaming world got more good news with Game Informer magazine returning under new ownership with its original team intact, while Nintendo Direct revealed numerous upcoming Switch titles and confirmed an April 2nd presentation for the Switch 2.In television news, One Piece co-showrunner Matt Owens steps down after season 2 to focus on mental health, American Dad may return to Fox after a decade at TBS, and Linda Cardellini has been cast as Pamela Voorhees in the Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake.Whether you're excited about Doctor Doom's arrival, curious about Nintendo's next releases, or looking forward to Digimon's new anime, this comprehensive entertainment roundup has something for every film, gaming, and TV enthusiast.Music Produced by BlackOutBeatz414: https://www.youtube.com/@BlackOutBeatz414Facebook: www.facebook.com/GeekVisionz/Twitch: www.twitch.tv/geekvizentYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GeekvisionzEnt.
We have Abram in a world in which things die and bleed and nourish one another. A world in which one being is sacrificed for the life of another all the time and everywhere. That world, not one cleaned up of its wildness and its gore, is where God is met. This Earth, not the heavens, is what God gives to all of us as a sacred gift.
Cain Marshall - Fulfilling Our Purpose on This Earth
In 1987, the world of rock and metal was ruled by flamboyant frontmen and larger-than-life bands. But with Surfing with the Alien, Joe Satriani flipped the script. An instrumental album led not by a voice but by six strings, it captured the imaginations of rock fans and musicians alike, proving that the guitar itself could sing.Joe Satriani's Surfing with the Alien is often hailed as a milestone in instrumental rock, but its legacy isn't without debate. While many view it as a masterful fusion of melody and virtuosity, others see it as emblematic of a niche genre that struggles to connect emotionally with a wider audience. Released in 1987, the album showcased Satriani's technical brilliance and melodic instincts, but its reception reflects a mix of awe, skepticism, and nostalgia. The Story Behind the AlbumSatriani's journey to guitar stardom began modestly, teaching guitarists like Steve Vai and Kirk Hammett while scraping by in California's music scene. After a lukewarm reception to his 1986 debut, Not of This Earth, Satriani poured everything he had—financially and creatively—into his follow-up, Surfing with the Alien. The result was a lean, melody-focused album recorded on a modest $13,000 budget that sought to balance technical guitar work with a broader emotional appeal. The album's comic book-inspired cover, featuring Marvel's Silver Surfer, hinted at the larger-than-life ambitions within. Tracks like the title song and “Satch Boogie” delivered on that promise with dizzying technicality, while the ballad “Always With Me, Always With You” showed a more tender, melodic side. These contrasts earned Satriani critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination, yet the album's broader appeal has remained divisive.A High-Water Mark for Some, Overindulgent for OthersFor fans of instrumental rock, Surfing with the Alien is a triumph. Its melodic hooks and memorable themes make it stand out in a genre often criticized for prioritizing flash over substance. Songs like “Ice 9” and “Crushing Day” blend technical mastery with accessibility, offering riffs and melodies that resonate well beyond the confines of the guitar-obsessed. It's an album that has moments of brilliance, where the guitar takes on the role of a vocalist, singing stories through its strings. But not everyone is moved by its charms. For some, the album represents the limitations of instrumental guitar music—tracks that, while impressive, can feel like exercises in technique rather than fully realized emotional experiences. The lack of lyrics and a frontman, which are often strengths for Satriani's fans, are viewed as barriers for those who find the album's tone more clinical than heartfelt. Surfing with the Alien's success in breaking into the mainstream is undeniable, yet its staying power with broader audiences remains a topic of contention.A Snapshot of a Moment in Rock HistoryReleased at a time when guitar gods like Eddie Van Halen and Yngwie Malmsteen were dominating rock, Surfing with the Alien carved out its own niche. Unlike the baroque complexity of Malmsteen or the blues-rock swagger of Van Halen, Satriani's approach was focused on melody and structure. While technically dazzling, his songs were crafted to stick in the listener's mind, often resembling vocal melodies translated to the guitar.Yet, the album's groundbreaking status also reflects a specific era. Its mix of virtuosic playing and synthesized production feels firmly rooted in the 1980s, which can be both an asset and a drawback depending on the listener. For those nostalgic for that era, Surfing with the Alien is a time capsule of innovation and possibility. For others, it may feel dated or too polished compared to the raw energy of vocal-driven rock bands of the same time. The Legacy of Surfing with the AlienSurfing with the Alien undeniably shaped the trajectory of instrumental rock. It reached number 29 on the Billboard 200, stayed there for 75 weeks, and went platinum—an astonishing feat for an instrumental album. Tracks like “Always With Me, Always With You” remain staples of Satriani's live performances, while “Satch Boogie” showcases his ability to blend technical prowess with funk-inspired grooves.Satriani's influence extends beyond his own discography. His teaching career helped shape the sounds of rock icons like Steve Vai and Kirk Hammett, and his innovations—like pitch axis theory—continue to inspire guitarists across genres. However, the debates surrounding the emotional impact and relatability of his music highlight the challenges instrumental albums face in achieving universal acclaim.Surfing with the Alien remains a touchstone for guitar enthusiasts and a divisive topic for others. It's an album that sparks both admiration and critique—praised for its melodic ingenuity and technical mastery, but also questioned for its ability to connect on a deeper emotional level. Whether it's a groundbreaking classic or a niche curiosity depends on where you stand in the conversation about instrumental rock. For those willing to dive in, Surfing with the Alien offers a ride through the outer reaches of what the guitar can achieve. Whether it leaves you awestruck or searching for something more, one thing is certain—it's a journey you won't forget.Songs in this Episode* Intro - Crushing Day * 18:44 -Right Thru Me - Nicki Minaj * 23:29 - Ice 9 * 25:03 - Surfing with the Alien * 26:18 - Echo * 27:28 - Satch Boogie * 29:27 - Hill of the Skull * Outro - Lords of KarmaMake Your Metal Voice Heard! In our quest to explore the depths of 80s metal, we rely on you, our listeners. Welcome back to The Other Way! I'm Kasia, your host, and I'm thrilled to reconnect with you all after our season break. As many of you know, I wrapped up last season during a challenging time. My mom was diagnosed with cancer just days before our last episode, and I've been in NYC since mid-July, supporting her, navigating this uncertainty, and celebrating the moments that matter—like my brother's beautiful wedding, which we brought to New York so my mom could be a part of it.While I have many personal updates to share in a solo episode soon, we're celebrating the start of a new season today. We're transitioning into fall, or as Chinese Medicine calls it, “Late Summer.” This Earth element season is a time of transition, marking the shift from the active Yang energy of spring and summer to the Yin introspection of fall and winter. I can feel the change in the air here in NYC, with cooler mornings and the subtle natural shift. We're only here until Sunday before returning to California, so I'm soaking up every moment with family and the last hints of East Coast summer. In this new season, we're diving deep into the paths less traveled, all through a feminine lens. We'll explore themes that resonate with my life journey—women's health, fertility, career, spirituality, and more. This year has brought about significant shifts for me, both personally and professionally, and I'm leaning into surrender and presence in ways I never imagined. Here's a sneak peek at some of the themes we'll be exploring this season:Awakening Fertility: We'll dive into preconception, conception, and beyond, with insights on how to optimize our bodies, minds, and spirits. Expect conversations with experts in Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and herbalism.Cultivating Creative Fertility: Exploring the powerful link between our wombs and creative potential.Modern Spirituality: Applying Zen lessons to our contemporary lives, especially in balancing aspiration and contentment for the ambitious among us.Transitions: Finding peace through life's stages, from birth and death to identity shifts.Anxiety, Imposter Syndrome, and Creativity: Navigating these common challenges with grace and self-compassion.Releasing Addictions: Tackling our dependencies on tech, stimulation, shopping, and even our own bad habits. And that's just the beginning! We have an incredible lineup of guests whose wisdom I can't wait to share.Thank you so much for tuning in and being a part of this beautiful community. I'm beyond excited to embark on this journey with you in the Fall 2024 season of The Other Way. A Phil Svitek Podcast - A Series From Your 360 Creative Coach
Welcome to our 24th episode in the monthly book discussion series hosted by Marisa Serafini (@serafinitv) and myself, Phil Svitek. If books are your passion, you've come to the right place! In this episode, we delve into This Earth of Mankind by Pramoedya Ananta Toer which is the first book in his epic quartet called Buru Quartet, first published by Hasta Mitra in 1980. The story is set at the end of the Dutch colonial rule and was written while Pramoedya was imprisoned on the political island prison of Buru in eastern Indonesia. The story was first narrated verbally to Pramoedya's fellow prisoners in 1973 because he did not get permission to write. The story spread through all the inmates until 1975 when Pramoedya was finally granted permission to write the detailed story. The central character and the narrator of This Earth of Mankind is a Javanese boy, Minke, who is fortunate to attend an elite Dutch school because he is a descendant of Javanese royalty (the character is based on Tirto Adhi Soerjo). Minke faces a complex and dangerous world when he meets Nyai Ontosoroh, a njai or concubine of a Dutch man. Minke's life becomes more dangerous when he falls in love with Annelies, the beautiful Indo daughter of Nyai Ontosoroh. In This Earth of Mankind, Pramoedya portrayed the unjust life of the Indonesian people during the Dutch colonization period when social status was governed by the amount of European blood running through their veins. Pramoedya characterized Minke as an outspoken person, who refuses this hierarchical society by becoming a writer instead of a speech-maker, which bears a resemblance to Pramoedya's life who was jailed for two years after carrying anti-Dutch documents and then became a writer. How can Christianity address the climate crisis? Isn't the objectifying of nature and the drive to improve our lot a secular legacy of Christendom? And isn't individual conversion more or less irrelevant in a time of systemic crisis?I was delighted to be sent an essay by Gunnar Gjermundsen that asks these questions and more. His insights are wide-ranging, integrating, inspiring and challenging, focusing on a Christianity that is not so much moral as transformative, inviting us to consider again the sayings of Jesus, via theologians such as Maximus the Confessor and psychotherapists like Donald Winnicott. In this discussion we unpack his argument in broadly three moves.First, an analysis of current anxieties that, at heart, are to do with time. A linear view of history has fostered a hope of panicky escape, sacrificing the present for the future as a false substitute for eternity, with devastating consequences for ourselves and the world around us. The problem needs to be addressed at root, which comes in a second section exploring the misunderstanding of eschatology as an event to come and be feared, rather than an unfolding now, to be welcomed. We explore Jesus's teaching as well as how it came to be so profoundly misunderstood. The third section draws in psychological insights, particularly in terms of considering the schizoid, addictive and dread-filled nature of the modern psyche, and turns again to the Christian tradition and the remarkable notion of the kingdom of God that is near, and being born again. The apocalyptical has become a master metaphor for the contemporary imagination, inducing fatalism and denial. Christianity has a vision to undo this terror via the transformation of our consciousness and experience of time. The apocalyptic is not to come but is an unveiling in every moment, a theosis, of the eternal present. And we can live by that alternative. The essay we are discussing is Living on This Earth as in Heaven: Time and the Ecological Conversion of Eschatology, published in Modern Theology, online - https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/moth.12930Gunnar Gjermundsen works in the Faculty of Theology, University of Oslo - https://www.tf.uio.no/english/people/aca/gunnargj/For more on Mark Vernon's work, see http://www.markvernon.com

A reconnection to her inner knowing that there is so much more to living here on EARTH, the contrast available and that there is so much to discover in being here - living life with feet on the ground and open to the world of Spirit. In Rasa's words, " This Earth plane offers every possibility we we could imagine, where we can create and make up worlds, immerse ourselves in whatever we like, there is nothing more interesting than this!" Definitely adds new colour and excitement to engaging our imagination!!! Come journey with Rasa and you will understand completely as she shared her awakening, why her meditations are so powerful and intuitively resonate

Welcome to our 23rd episode in the monthly book discussion series hosted by Marisa Serafini (@serafinitv) and myself, Phil Svitek. If books are your passion, you've come to the right place! In this episode, we delve into Fredrik Backman's Anxious People where looking at real estate isn't usually a life-or-death situation, but an apartment open house becomes just that when a failed bank robber bursts in and takes a group of strangers hostage. The captives include a recently retired couple who relentlessly hunt down fixer-uppers to avoid the painful truth that they can't fix their own marriage. There's a wealthy bank director who has been too busy to care about anyone else and a young couple who are about to have their first child but can't seem to agree on anything, from where they want to live to how they met in the first place. Add to the mix an eighty-seven-year-old woman who has lived long enough not to be afraid of someone waving a gun in her face, a flustered but still-ready-to-make-a-deal real estate agent, and a mystery man who has locked himself in the apartment's only bathroom, and you've got the worst group of hostages in the world. Each of them carries a lifetime of grievances, hurts, secrets, and passions that are ready to boil over. None of them is entirely who they appear to be. And all of them—the bank robber included—desperately crave some sort of rescue. As the authorities and the media surround the premises these reluctant allies will reveal surprising truths about themselves and set in motion a chain of events so unexpected that even they can hardly explain what happens next. Pastor Kim preaches about The Reason Why Jesus Came to This Earth.
This episode explores how to make a profound shift in our lives – moving forward and embracing our true potential. This perspective might feel challenging, but it's one I'm currently exploring, and it has the power to redefine how we experience life. What truly matters is not the external experiences but how we feel as we navigate them. Let's go back to a recent experience I had. I was there, feeling incredibly inspired and motivated, just like you might have felt before after listening to this podcast or another source of inspiration. You start envisioning the person you can become, the healing you can achieve, and the heights you can reach when connected to that motivating frequency. However, that initial motivation tends to wane as time passes after the event. It becomes easier to slip back into the old routines, doubting whether those grand visions were too ambitious or unattainable. This is why motivation and inspiration alone aren't enough. They're fleeting. What truly matters is the state of being you embrace. You see, when you're inspired and start taking action, the old frequency, the one you're trying to leave behind, will do its best to pull you back. It's not good or bad; it's just your old pattern trying to survive. To truly shift and move forward, you need to focus on who you need to be. It's not about chasing external outcomes; it's about becoming the person who effortlessly manifests those outcomes. This involves embracing empowering "I am" statements – affirmations that declare your identity. Don't rely solely on motivation or inspiration to carry you forward. They operate within your current state, and if you want to move beyond it, you must focus on being and thinking in alignment with your higher self. If you have negative thoughts and positive actions or vice versa, you're out of alignment, and it's time to realign. You are what you consistently think, speak, and act. Your thoughts shape your reality, and your actions solidify it. So, choose your thoughts wisely and act in alignment with your highest self, regardless of external circumstances. The more you do this, the more you change your vibrational frequency, attracting the experiences you desire. Remember, nobody outside of you can shift your energy; you hold that power. Even the universe gives you the freedom to choose. Every day, you wake up with the choice to become something, and your choices determine your reality. The more you become the empowered creator of your experiences, the more unstoppable you become. Don't just be a receiver; be the creator of your life. We're all on a journey of expansion and growth. This Earth school we're in is designed to allow us to forgive, heal, and expand. We can experience abundance and be millionaires or even multi-millionaires. But remember, the harder the choice, the more powerful it is. So, what's your choice today? What will you declare as your "I am" statement? Who will you choose to be? Embrace the journey of finding your Glory, peace, love, forgiveness, and growth. It's your divine purpose, and you have the power to make it a reality. - Henry -------------------------------- Social Media Say hi on TikTok Say Hi on Instagram -------------------------------- Email Me henry@vibeabundant.com -------------------------------- Email List --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/positive-mindset-podcast/support
In this episode, we dive into a fundamental truth that has the potential to revolutionize your life. The most challenging truth to accept is that you possess the power to shape your life. Wherever you point the finger is where the power lies. If you find yourself struggling or feeling emotionally drained in a difficult situation, understand this: you have the power to change it. I know it might be tempting to blame external circumstances – traumatic past experiences, family dynamics, school, the economy, or limitations you were born with. But ultimately, this thinking robs you of your power. Deep down, you already know you're more than your circumstances; there's something within you urging you to awaken to your true potential. External factors can influence your life's direction, shaping how you perceive the world. However, your internal state is always a choice. You're a powerful observer and creator. Your thoughts, desires, and beliefs manifest your reality. The collective consciousness shapes our shared reality, amplifying shared thoughts and frequencies. You're not just a passive participant in this world; you're a conscious, aware, spiritual being. You're more than the external circumstances that surround you. While we experience this world, we're not limited by it – it's just an experience. Your energy, whatever form it takes, whether it's your soul or spirit connected to a higher source, is eternal. Your existence transcends this brief earthly journey. Where you point the finger is where the power resides. External events can affect you, but your internal state remains your choice. I'm not suggesting that thinking positively will make your life a utopia. We're here on Earth to learn, and often, the most significant growth occurs during challenging times. Just as muscles grow through tension, so does your energy and consciousness. This Earth school presents tension as a given, sometimes beyond our control due to the chaotic nature of the world. However, you can also apply tension deliberately by seeking positivity in difficult situations. The more challenging the challenge, the more profound your mind's growth potential. Your beliefs shape your reality. As you believe, so shall you receive. To truly know something is to embody it. You cannot claim to be positive while succumbing to negativity in specific situations. You're either in the positive frequency, or you're not. Acknowledge that your subconscious has been influenced by past experiences, creating patterns and beliefs that have dictated your life. Now that you're awake, you can change it. Forgive those who may have contributed to your past negativity, not for their sake, but for your own. Forgiveness allows you to release the energy, move towards freedom, and reclaim your power. Focus on the positive because that's what you want to create. Imagine that every thought, word, or conversation you engage in is a creative act shaping your reality. You have the power to choose what you think about, speak about, and engage with. The problem is that you might not have fully recognized this truth yet. Shift your focus, commit to it, and give yourself the gift of consistently seeking the light in every situation. Distance yourself from negativity, whether it's in the form of friends or your own thoughts. Be purposeful in your choices. As you do this, you'll find your path, raise your energy, and become a beacon of positivity that lifts your own life and the lives of those around you. - Henry -------------------------------- Request Coaching Info -------------------------------- Social Media Say hi on TikTok Say Hi on Instagram Facebook Group! -------------------------------- Email Me henry@vibeabundant.com -------------------------------- Email List --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/positive-mindset-podcast/support
Welcome to The B-Side from The Film Stage. Here we talk about movie stars! Not the movies that made them famous or kept them famous, but the ones that they made in between. Happy Halloween! This year we discuss a legend: Roger Corman! As is tradition, our dear friend Gavin Mevius, talented editor and co-host of the incredible The Mixed Reviews Podcast. Be sure to listen to their podcast and support them on Patreon if you see fit! Today we tackle three B-Sides: Not of This Earth, The Intruder, and Frankenstein Unbound. We discuss Corman's influence on New Hollywood and his enduring influence to this day, his indelible eye for talent both in front of (actors like Nicholson and De Niro got their starts in Corman films) and behind (Jonathan Demme, James Cameron, Peter Bogdanovich), and the directing career that could've been had The Intruder been a hit. There's talk of the other Mary Shelley-adjacent film adaptations of the late '80s/early ‘90s (Gothic, Haunted Summer, Rowing with the Wind), how great Raul Julia was, that Kenneth Branagh Frankenstein movie, and Camel Spiders. We have crossed the point of NO RETURN!This Earth we are living on, we have ignored its cry for help. What happened to us? We used to be able to talk to plants, animals and nature. When did we lose that bond with Mother Nature? Have we forgotten that nobody else is coming to our rescue? A quick disclaimer, I really don't know how to describe our today's guest, or even brief you about this episode. Today is about – the realms of life, evolution, and the interconnectedness of our existence on this planet. Today is about looking in the past to become better future humans. In a world that often demands measurable answers, our guest reminds us that there's more to reality than what meets the eye.We have with us Dr Elisabet Sahtouris, who is an internationally known evolution biologist, futurist, author and consultant on Living Systems Design. By the end of this episode, you may find yourself questioning your place in the grand patchwork of the universe and the impact of our actions on the future of humanity. So stay tuned and enjoy the show.
In Awe of It All: Stories and Inspirations from a Spiritual Journey through Eight Decades of Life on This Earth by Sherry Dee LadyUpon request of family and friends, a series of weekly essays written over a period of four years was put into book form with the essays put into various chapters along with accompanying photos provided by daughter Julie Hall's personal photography. The essays are part autobiographical, part stories from personal experiences from 86 years of life and part inspiration gained by walking through daily life with all its blessings, intrigue, challenges, surprises, and many blessings and thoughts that come when one pauses long enough to breathe in the wonders of life.It is definitely filled with joy, passion, love, dreams and experiences of being with people from all walks of life met in various places along life's path and within one's family. Lee is back with the second part of his look at the soundtracks and scores of the sex comedy genre, focusing on the more lurid side of things. This time everything has gotten far bigger and far hornier as he moves into the 1980s. Much like with slasher films, and other assorted cinematic junk food, the sex comedy genre exploded in North America during this decade, getting far raunchier and problematic that it had previously been. Because of the exponentially larger amount of music to put on the playlist, Lee put out a poll to the listeners asking them if they wanted this split into two parts or if they wanted a super-sized summer blow-out. “This Earth is an island, just like we inhabit Hawai'i as an island. Island mentality [is] that you live in this place that's confined in geography and limited in resources. Because of that, you depend on the community that you live with to take care of each other and to steward those resources in a meaningful way.” Justyn Ah Chong (Kānaka Maoli) is a climate storyteller who guides creative projects in support of Indigenous land sovereignty in Hawai'i. In this episode, Justyn shares the magic of circumnavigating the globe guided only by the wind and stars, on the Polynesian voyaging canoe Hōkūleʻa that inspired a cultural renaissance. We also hear excepts from Justyn's Emmy-award winning film Pili Ka Moʻo, which shares the fight of the Fukumitsu ʻOhana (family) of Hakipuʻu trying to protect their ancestors' remains from a big corporate ranch. "This Earth is a spirit. She is a living breathing body. We are here to take care of her. And in return she will take care of us. Feel her heartbeat. Listen to her wind. As we breathe in, she breathes out. We are one. And in this oneness, we are unstoppable. Our lives are anything we want them to be. We just have to create it. It is quite simple really. And IN this simplicity, our creations will be made." -Stacy PiagnoThis week we welcome special guest and spiritual teacher Jyoti Ma, who is internationally renowned for cultivating projects that demonstrate ways of life that honor the Earth and all peoples. As the Grandmother Vision Keeper of the Center for Sacred Studies, and a member of the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, Jyoti will share with us her guidance and wisdom of this very sacred time we are entering. Today's episode will include how we as a collective can walk forward in a sacred way. A way that will help us restore an economic model based on reciprocity and collaboration. A way that is guided by nature and the sacred. We have now entered into a time that has been prophesied about. How will we choose to move forward? [00:30] The Accuser Is Cast Down to This Earth (18 minutes) Herbert W. Armstrong said, “An accuser is guilty of the very thing that he accuses others of.” That spirit of accusation is rampant in the world today. God expects true believers to practice what they preach, rather than spreading slanderous rumors and gossip. [18:00] Body Cam Footage Reveals Capitol Police Fired Poison Gas … at Capitol Police (6 minutes) One false January 6 narrative is that Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick had a stroke the day after the protest because a protester sprayed him with bear spray. However, new January 6 body cam footage shows that Capitol police accidentally gassed their own officers—including Sicknick—with a misfired canister of chemical irritant. The bigger question raised by the footage is why the police started firing gas and flash bangs at peaceful protesters in the first place. [24:00] Mike Pence Also Took Classified Documents (11 minutes) Yesterday, CNN broke the news that Mike Pence's lawyers found classified documents at his Indiana home. Pence has repeatedly insisted that he did not take classified documents home and has criticized Biden for his documents scandal. The media are still working hard to convince the public that Donald Trump is the only one who should be penalized for holding on to classified documents. [35:00] Skyrocketing Excess Deaths (12 minutes) In an interview with Southbank Investment Research, Nigel Farage said the elephant in the room is how many of the so-called “excess deaths” in Western nations “have been caused by effects from the vaccine itself.” [47:00] Listener Feedback (8 minutes)
As followers of Christ, what does it mean to deny ourselves? Are we allowed to enjoy the things of this world or do we need to set them aside for a wholehearted pursuit of Christ? This week we take a break from our study of Exodus as Pastor Sonny provides an introduction to our upcoming Wednesday Prayer Fellowship study of the book “The Things of This Earth” by Joe Rigney.
There is a purpose for which The Lord has established This Earth and covenant people. During the remainder of this “Holy Week”, this podcast reminds us of our needed realignments and posture of purpose.

On this edition of Parallax Views, the independent genre film factory that is Charles Band's long running Full Moon Features has a quirky new sci-fi/fantasy adventure on the horizon that's of, shall we say, epic proportions. Although Full Moon's known for serving up pint-sized mayhem with such franchises as Puppet Master and Demonic Toys, they're going BIG this time around with Attack of the 50 Ft. Camgirl! A riff on the immortal 1958 B-movie classic Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman, the film that may have created a million giantess fetishists w/ it's buxom star Allison Hayes, puts an Instagram influencer twist on the often-told science fiction tale of the gargantuan beauty run amuck and even features a showdown between not one but two glamorous Godzilla-sized gals. Joining me to discuss Full Moon's latest sci-fi/fantasy romp, are director Jim Wynorski and star Ivy Smith, making her acting debut as the titular 50 ft camgirl! First up is Ivy Smith, who talks a little bit about the film, the story of it, how she got into modeling, how she ended up as the 50 ft camgirl, the anxiety that comes with doing a nude scene, destroying miniatures in the climatic showdown of the giantesses, getting rude messages from men asking her to step on them (if you want to do that send money!) and working with director Jim Wynorski, producer Charles Band, and actresses Christine Nyugen and Lisa London among other things! Then, Jim Wynorksi comes on the program and chastisize me a bit for asking questions that aren't stupid enough. We talk about how Attack of the 50 ft Camgirl came to be, what he learned from maverick exploitation producer Roger Corman, why men are into the giantess fetish, his friendship with Traci Lords (who made her non-adult debut in Jim's 1988 remake of Not of This Earth), the legendary character of Orville Ketchum in Jim's cult classics Sorority House Massacre II and its sequel Hard to Die (as well as the interesting details on how those films got made!), Jim's sense of humor, how my original questions bored him to tears, his upcoming feature Bigfoot or Bust, working with Stormy Daniels and why he didn't like that experience, and more! All in all this is one of the sillier and weirder episodes of Parallax Views I've done to date! Many thanks to Chris Alexander and Full Moon Features for making it happen! And if any of my listeners are in Dallas, be sure to stop by Texas Frightmare Weekend where you can see the premiere of Attack of the 50ft Camgirl and meet both Full Moon head honcho Charles Bad and the beautiful, talented Ivy Smith (Friday only for Ivy!)! And be sure to check out Ivy Smith's Facebook page
Synopsis Today is Earth Day – an annual event started in 1970 by then-Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin as an environmental teach-in. Senator Nelson wasn't the only one concerned back then, either: the Czech-born composer Karel Husa had noticed dead fish floating on a lake located near a power plant. “The plant was producing hot thermal pollution which in turn killed all those fish,” Husa recalled. “In addition, I noticed more beer cans in the water and algae in greater quantities.” A wind band commission provided Husa with an opportunity to create a work he called “Apotheosis of This Earth.” In explaining its title, Karel Husa wrote: “Man's brutal possession and misuse of nature's beauty – if continued at today's reckless speed – can only lead to catastrophe. The composer hopes that the destruction of this beautiful earth can be stopped, so that the tragedy of destruction – musically projected here in the second movement—and the desolation of its aftermath – the “postscript” of this work – can exist only as fantasy, never to become reality.” “Apotheosis of this Earth” was commissioned by the Michigan School Band and Orchestral Association, and its premiere performance took place on April 1, 1970, with Husa himself conducting the University of Michigan Symphony Band at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor. It proved a powerful piece of music. “As the Postscript finished,” recalled the composer, “I saw that the students in the band were somehow moved – there were even some tears.” Music Played in Today's Program Karel Husa (b. 1921) — Apotheosis of This Earth (Ithaca College Wind Ensemble; Rodney Winther, cond.) Time is the only precious commodity that can never be replaced. What would you do if you only had 90 minutes to live what if it was today? What would you do with that time? Because truthfully, you and I have absolutely no idea how much time we have left upon this Earth. This Earth is meant to be a journey not a destination. Where's your destination? This episode is not about a particular historical figure, but about an embattled group of women known as the nyai, housekeepers, companions, and concubines in the former Dutch East Indies, or present-day Indonesia. We'll learn about them through several narratives, the most popular of which is Nyai Ontosoroh's story from the 1980 novel, This Earth of Mankind. We're going to start with a bit of background – how Indonesia was colonized and how the nyai came to be. Then we'll end with the life stories of several nyai as immortalized in novels and newspapers of the time. Click here for the trailer of the 2019 Indonesian film, Bumi Manusia. Jonny Numb, one half of The Last Knock podcast asks Doug and Jamie to do him a solid and just look at a lot of naked ladies! Jamie isn't quite happy with the male love interest and imagines a movie where Traci Lords ends up with the reformed Jeremy, while this movie prompts Doug to watch both the 1957 original and the 1995 re-remake. Nope. it's not Humanoids from the Deep...even though it contains an extended scene from that film. And it's not Hollywood Boulevard...even though it contains an extended scene from that film as well. The Necronomnomnom: Recipes and Rites from the Lore of H. P. Lovecraft Mike Slater rose from the Stygian depths of Corporate America at about the same time Viagra and Google came to be. Irish Astrologers and Iron Maiden fans remain divided as to whether or not these events are related. Mike is the author of The Necronomnomnom, purveyor of infernally bad puns (the sages speculate that there is in fact a portal directly to the dire Realm of Pun somewhere in his brain...), and designer/mastermind behind games of all sorts. He is a lifelong fan of Things Not of This Earth, and at this point, is ready to loose some of his ideas upon unsuspecting readers. When not hiding from the Evil Day Star, he can be found hiking, writing, gaming, or waiting for nightfall to kindle the fires of Burnhenge. ______________________________________________________________________ LINKS https://m.facebook.com/RedDukeGames https://www.facebook.com/TheNecronomnomnom/ YouTube features recipes for the Necronomnomnom https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0mBUrHuZ0xw Kickstarter for Red Duke games latest project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1366211550/azrah-war-of-heralds-0?fbclid=IwAR3EgbxF_VMulBgDxM0B7g_7W7D36deAhz0e_E890Kloor2OkD8slmn91ec&ref=4a7xlt&token=7208b277 ___________________ “Help us promote this podcast and share this episode with a friend” “Share on social and tag us at @WellLibrarian” “Follow The Well Seasoned Librarian Podcast on Spotify and get notified when new episodes are released" --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/dean-jones9/message
Enlaceshttps://relatonativo.mx/____________________________________________________________________________________________________Nine years ago, Mafer Bretón and her partner started the exploration of medicinal plants.
