William Temple, a nineteenth-century English bishop, once concluded a sermon to Oxford students with the words of the hymn “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross.” But he cautioned against taking the song lightly. “If you mean [the words] with all your hearts, sing them as loud as you can,” Temple said. “If you don’t mean them at all, keep silent. If you mean them even a little, and want to mean them more, sing them very softly.” The crowd went quiet as everyone eyed the lyrics. Slowly, thousands of voices began to sing in a whisper, mouthing the final lines with gravity: “Love so amazing, so divine / Demands my soul, my life, my all.” Those Oxford students understood the reality that believing in and following Jesus is a serious choice, because it means saying yes to a radical love that demands everything from us. Following Christ requires our entire life, our whole being. He plainly told His disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24). No one should make this choice flippantly. Yet, following Jesus is also the way to our deepest joy. Life with Him, we’ll discover, is the life we truly desire. It appears a great paradox. However, if we respond to God’s love, believe in Christ, and relinquish our selfish, shortsighted demands, we’ll find the life our soul craves (v. 25).
On this episode of the JT Sports Podcast, JT reacts to the growing frustration among Auburn fans as Hugh Freeze enters Year 3 with bowl game expectations instead of loftier goals. JT also explains why Florida is closing the gap on Georgia, thanks to DJ Lagway, a loaded offensive line, and proven defensive production. Later in the show, JT questions Tennessee's Top 25 status given their QB uncertainty, lack of proven receivers, and a thin secondary heading into the 2025 season. Plus, JT evaluates whether Michigan can maintain elite status post-Jim Harbaugh and makes a bold case that Kalen DeBoer might truly be the next Nick Saban.

His third album, "Innovation of Grave Perversity," was recorded remotely during lockdown in 2020-2021.Eric describes his approach to music as "earthiness, textures... naturalism rather than gloss," setting him apart from more mainstream queer artists. His work is explicitly queer without being ambiguous, as he believes in the importance of authentic representation in music.Living with agoraphobia, Eric has adapted his creative process to work within his limitations, collaborating remotely with other musicians and finding connection through his art despite physical isolation.Key Quotes"I never wanted anything to be veiled in ambiguity, purposefully, for the sake of making it palatable to somebody who is uncomfortable with an LGBTQ perspective.""If you asked me to drive to the corner shop a mile down the road to me, that would feel like you're asking me to jump out of an airplane... the level of anxiety is so high it feels like you're doing something wild.""Just because you don't have the life that you envisioned for yourself and the life that you expected... it doesn't mean that it's the wrong life for you. It doesn't mean that it is in any way invalid, you know, not valuable.""Worthy. What a thing to claim. And it really is. It's a very powerful idea to say to yourself, I am worthy. And I think a lot of people in our community really struggle with that."Links and ResourcesEric Terino's musicIn the Key of Q websiteIn the Key of Q blog

In this wild ride of an episode, a full cast of Badlands Media regulars swaps politics for poolside confessions as they recount tales from their recent GART meetup, starting with Ghost's noble sacrifice in an Olympic-sized (probably not) hot tub bust. With Brian making his OnlyLands debut and the gang cracking jokes about denied bar entry, suspicious hotel designs, and Putin's questionable hockey prowess, the vibes are equal parts chaos and comedy. But it's not all hot tub hijinks and hallway gossip; the crew eventually dives deep into geopolitics, speculating on Trump's rumored peace deal tour, Carney's globalist credentials, and the constitutional crisis brewing over the unconfirmed U.S. Attorney for D.C. Expect sharp takes on Iran, Canada's shadowy influence, and how the judiciary could end up in Trump's crosshairs. Equal parts party recap and political breakdown, this episode captures the off-script brilliance that only Badlands can deliver.
Homily: Of What You Are Worthy
Every worthy goal has a discipline. Some people work for becoming a surgeon—four years of college, seven years of medical school, residency, waiting for this and that, maybe to cure cancer. Is there a cure for cancer? No, but they still keep doing it. And there's this practice of reaching our original position with Kṛṣṇa in the spiritual world. What's that worth? Four years of college, seven years of special training? It's worth lifetimes, and every session of chanting japa is a testament to our determination to reach Kṛṣṇa, who says in His teachings to Uddhava, "This dedication that you have—bhaktyāham ekayā grāhyaḥ śraddhayātmā priyaḥ satām—it's very dear to Me." So if we remember that the goal is something beyond what anybody else is doing in this world, and that our orientation is towards Kṛṣṇa, despite whatever other duties we have to do in this world, our main process is pointing ourselves back home, back to Godhead. Every japa session is a welcome opportunity to lean into that determination and express to Kṛṣṇa from our heart, "This is what I really want." So we can use this session today. For some of us on the West Coast, it's still Akṣaya Tṛtīyā until the sun is fully up. But whatever, it doesn't matter. The main point is that every moment is an opportunity to express our sincere desire to reach Kṛṣṇa, so we can put that into the chanting today. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
For many people, it takes trying new things and experiencing different opportunities to discover one's true passion. Sometimes, it's the mini-interests that lead us to the ultimate one – the passion we will embrace for many years to come. That was the case for today's Success is Subjective guest, Daryn Reiner. While Daryn is settled into her role in the mental health field, and as a mom to a child with special needs, it took many pursuits to arrive where she is now. Coming from a family where she, as a child, was indirectly positioned as more of an adult, Daryn's perception of herself as a responsible, stable, problem-solver was just one aspect of who she was. After many exciting adventures overseas, Daryn credits her service in the Navy as the first opportunity in her life that revealed to her the depth of her personality, giftings and strengths. To her astonishment, Daryn was pleased to discover that not only was she a logical thinker, she also had a deeply creative side. With many developed skill sets and her new found revelation, Daryn took the culmination of all she was and all she had done and pursued a career in the mental health field. Tune in to hear how Daryn utilized every building block of her life to establish the foundation of who she is and for you to be reminded that no effort is wasted; every opportunity can be a gift to learn to grow and learn.
