Is Kash Patel guilty of deceiving Congress? Did the FBI director lie to Congress during his Senate Confirmation Hearing? On Wednesday, Patel testified before the House Appropriations Committee's Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies about the FBI's fiscal year 2026 budget request. Democratic Rep. Madeleine Dean of Pennsylvania used the Budget hearing to question Patel about the arrest of Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan. The Congresswoman also accused the FBI Director of lying during his confirmation hearing. Dean mentioned her role as a manager in the second impeachment of President Donald Trump over the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol building while claiming Patel was “weaponizing” the government. When can I, a former impeachment manager, expect the FBI at my door?” Dean asked Patel, who responded, “You want to know who was targeted by a weaponized FBI? Me.” The questioning went down hill from there.

President Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney spoke to reporters as they met in the Oval Office to discuss U.S.-Canada trade and military relations, and the prime minister's first trip out of the country since becoming Canada's top legislator. Mr. Carney reiterated his earlier stance that Canada was "not for sale," despite President Trump's reiteration of his desire for the nation to become the 51st state. The two talked about the ongoing dispute on tariffs, specifically those levied on automakers and suppliers who work on both sides -- and across -- the border. So why does Carney tolerate Trump? Breaking News - The White Constitutional Crisis ERUPTS! During an Oval Office meeting with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, President Donald Trump and members of his administration argued they were not required to return deported Salvadoran citizen Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the United States, despite the Supreme Court ruling in favor of facilitating his return. Trump and members of his administration openly DEFIED THE SUPREME COURT RULING. Trump called on members of his cabinet to explain why they were violating the Constitution. WHAT IS IN THE MAGA BUDGET? As expected, there are Trillions in tax cuts for the wealthy, and to pay for those cuts, there will be cuts in dozens of social programs. Including medical cuts, food programs for the poor, and many other benefits for working Americans. In the early morning hours, when hardly anyone was watching, except me, of course, the Senate approved another MAGA BUDGET OUTLINE. With a 51 to 48 vote with all Democrats and two Republicans voting no, Republicans tried to unlock a unique legislative process to pass Donald Trump's Agenda. The House is expected to vote on the package this week. The main goal of this plan is to set the table for Republicans to extend the expiring provisions of the 2017 Trump tax cuts. Without action this year, Americans would see a $4.5 trillion tax increase starting in 2026. "We are determined to make tax relief permanent for working families," said Senate GOP Leader John Thune. That statement is not entirely correct. The tax cuts are overwhelming favorable to big business and higher income Americans. Meanwhile, Democrats tested out their future arguments on the GOP's budget reconciliation package, which cannot be stopped by a Senate filibuster. "I will never support a bill that uses Medicare, Medicaid or SNAP cuts to pay for tax cuts for billionaires," added Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA). Two Republican Senators voted against the budget outline: Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME). Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) missed the final vote, which finished up around 2:30 am. Just one reminder - there are no details in this budget resolution. This sets the parameters of how much in tax cuts, how much in spending cuts, and how much in extra spending can be approved by Congress through the budget reconciliation process. This is another Continuing Resolution that will fund the Government through the end of this Fiscal Year, September 30, 2025. The MAGA Controlled House has FAILED TO PASS ANOTHER 12 Month Budget. The most dramatic moment of the evening occurred near the beginning of Trump's rambling, Congressional Address. Congressman Al Green, a democrat from Texas, screamed. "You have no mandate to cut Medicaid!" Trump was beginning his flurry of lies, half-truths, ridiculous exaggerations when Green, clutching his cane, had had enough. Eventually, the worst Speaker in History, ordered Capitol Police to haul Congressman away. Green told reporters outside the House Chamber that he could not sit silently by as Republicans attempt to cut Medicaid, Medicare, and SOCIAL SECURITY! Yup. Even though Trump has said he has no plans to cut these programs, Congressional Republicans are drafting the legislation right now, and Trump has not repeated his promise not to touch Social Security. Instead he repeated the MUSK LIES. Trump, Musk, and MAGA Mike Johnson have all claimed that Social Security is filled with graft and corruption and that 200-year-olds are getting checks. At a time when Inflation is moving upward, Donald Trump has done something that is going to cost every consumer in America MORE MONEY. He has imposed massive tariffs or taxes on two trade partners, our neighbors in the North and South - Canada and Mexico. Additionally, Trump increased Tariffs on China, another major exporter. This quote is from the Wall Street Journal, a CONSERVATIVE Publication owned by the same family that owns FOX. "The Dumbest Trade War in History Trump will impose 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico for no good reason." Economic Experts say the Tariffs will send inflation higher, hurt exporters, and cost consumers more money. Tariffs increase the price companies pay for goods from other countries. The Companies are then forced to pass those extra costs on to consumers.
NO, 150-YEAR-OLDS ARE NOT COLLECTING SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS. And No, dead people are not collecting Social Security Benefits. There is no evidence of this fraud. None. Is there fraud somewhere? Maybe. But the reason the two presidents, Musk-Trump, think really, really old (or even dead) people are robbing Social Security is because of COBOL. This is the definition of COBOL: COBOL an acronym for "common business-oriented language") is a compiled English-like computer programming language designed for business use. It is an imperative, procedural, and, since 2002, object-oriented language. COBOL is primarily used in business, finance, and administrative systems for companies and governments. Trump officials tell GOP lawmakers they need $175 BILLION to secure borders. That's the headline. The sub-headline is they need the money right now. After less than one month of Public Relations, high profile Raids with network crews tagging along, and expensive military jets flying half-empty planes to South America, ICE is going broke. Some of the made-for-TV raids ended up with Border Patrol Agents and television talking heads out-numbering the Illegal immigrants. And there have been more than a few "Catch-and-release" cases. One of the United States closest Allies, King Abdullah, sat quietly next to Donald Trump, refusing to agree with the President's ridiculously conceived plans for Gaza. The best way to answer the question: What does the Department of Education do? It might be to tell you what it doesn't do. The Department of Education DOES NOT OPERATE US SCHOOLS OR SET CURRICULA. That responsibility belongs to the States. However, some states are poor, and there is no funding for some programs The Department of Education runs. Here is a short list: Manage Student Loans - College Students Administer Pell Grants - College Students Breakfast and School Lunch Programs - k -12 Head Start - early education for poor children. Programs for students with Disabilities and poor children. Ensure that schools adhere to Civil Rights so students are guaranteed equal education opportunities. Education is one of the smallest in the Cabinet. It was created by Congress, and Congress controls FUNDING - POWER OF THE PURSE. Trump's move to shut down the Department must be approved by Congress. Red states, the states that voted for Trump, will be the most brutal hit. The plan to close the Department of Education is laid out in Project 2025.
Mexico, China, and Canada account for over a third of the products brought into the United States. That adds up to more than $1 trillion in goods annually. Tariffs on those goods are going to cost us-- U.S. Consumers Billions. Here is the shortlist. Food: Mexico is the largest supplier of fruit and vegetables to the US, while Canada leads in exports of grain, livestock and meats, poultry, and more. The US imported $97 billion worth of oil and gas from Canada last year, that country's top export to the US. The US imported $87 billion worth of motor vehicles and $64 billion worth of vehicle parts from Mexico last year, not accounting for December, the top two goods imported from there that year, according to Commerce Department data. On Tuesday, a memo that ordered the Freezing of Federals Funds for Grants and Hundreds of Programs set off a nationwide firestorm of confusion and complaints. A group of non-profits sued to block the order from Trump's Office of Management and Budget. And a Federal Judged paused the freeze temporarily. A spokesman for the Trump Administration said the directive should not be interpreted as a complete funding freeze. The official, who was not authorized to discuss the internal memo publicly, said that agencies should review their grants, loans, and programs to ensure they align with the new administration's priorities. On Tuesday, Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of the late President John F. Kennedy, wrote a letter to Senate leaders asking them to reject her cousin's nomination.

The letter is a parting shot at the former and future president. Jack Smith defended his conduct as fully lawful, free of partisan influence, and vital to the aspirations of the justice system. "While we were not able to bring the cases we charged to trial, I believe the fact that our team stood up for the rule of law matters. I believe the example our team set for others to fight for justice without regard for the personal costs matters. The facts, as we uncovered them in our investigation and as set forth in my Report, matter," Smith wrote. Trump pleaded not guilty in 2023 to 40 criminal counts related to his handling of classified materials after leaving the White House, and later that year pleaded not guilty to separate charges of undertaking a "criminal scheme" to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
This Friday, Jan. 19, is the TikTok Ban Deadline - Lawyers for TikTok told the Supreme Court that the law banning TikTok violates the First Amendment's Freedom of Speech. But, attorneys arguing for the government warn that the popular App is a threat to National Security. After listening to the Supreme Court Case, which was argued Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, it doesn't appear that the Justices will step in to save TikTok.
About 20 minutes into the Trump Sentencing, the former President and future President said this, “This has been a very terrible experience. I think it's been a tremendous setback for New York, the New York court system.” “I get indicted for business records? Everybody should be so accurate. It's been a political witch hunt ... to damage my reputation so that I'd lose the election. Obviously, that didn't work.” The Trump legal team tried to delay the sentencing, but even the Supreme Court let Donald Trump Down. So he will begin his second term as a convicted felon. This is from "The Guardian," The judge who presided over Trump's criminal trial, Juan Merchan, issued a sentence of “unconditional discharge”, meaning the president-elect will be released without fine, imprisonment or probation supervision for his conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. While the sentence makes Trump a convicted felon, he will face no penalty other than this legal designation. Trump, whose presidential inauguration is scheduled for 20 January, is the first US president – former or sitting – to face a criminal trial, let alone a guilty verdict and subsequent sentencing.

This is the text on page 1 of the Congressional investigation into former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz: "In sum, the Committee found substantial evidence of the following: • From at least 2017 to 2020, Representative Gaetz regularly paid women for engaging in sexual activity with him. • In 2017, Representative Gaetz engaged in sexual activity with a 17-year-old girl. • During the period 2017 to 2019, Representative Gaetz used or possessed illegal drugs, including cocaine and ecstasy, on multiple occasions. • Representative Gaetz accepted gifts, including transportation and lodging in connection with a 2018 trip to the Bahamas, in excess of permissible amounts. • In 2018, Representative Gaetz arranged for his Chief of Staff to assist a woman with whom he engaged in sexual activity in obtaining a passport, falsely indicating to the U.S. Department of State that she was a constituent. • Representative Gaetz knowingly and willfully sought to impede and obstruct the Committee's investigation of his conduct. • Representative Gaetz has acted in a manner that reflects discreditably upon the House.
The Third Bill was the Charm. After the House voted and approved the Continuing Budget Resolution, the Senate quickly followed with little drama, and with even less drama, President Biden signed the Spending Bill into law. The bill includes funding for basic government operations, as well as $100 billion in hurricane disaster aid and $10 billion in farmer subsidies. The Political mess in the United States House of Representatives is nothing new. But there are definitely a few more wrinkles. Trump and Musk. The latest dust-up began early in the week when the Speaker shared the latest Budget Compromise with Democrats and Republicans. And the world's richest man, who can't find shirts to fit, didn't like what he saw. So he began Tweeting. Hours later, I mean many hours, the president-elect weighed in. He didn't like it either. So a man who is not the president until Jan. 20, 2025 and another rich dude who paid to help get Trump elected, but want not born here and can never be President, blew up the budget deal. Here is an important point: The "Four Corners" worked on the final documents and it was a compromise plan. COMPROMISE. That means not everybody got what they wanted, but they worked it out, and this was the agreement. Let me take a minute to explain the "Four Corners". These are lawmakers who are experts in their committee assignments. Two Democrats and two Republicans from the House and Senate. For example, one of the key budget items was the Farm Bill. And the need for farmers to get some fiscal help from the Government. It appeared a one-time aid package had been agreed upon by the lawmakers who make up the "four corners" in farm bill talks. Those lawmakers are Rep. Glenn "GT" Thompson, R-Pa., chairman of the House Agriculture Committee; Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark., ranking member of the Senate Agriculture Committee; Rep. Governor Newsome call it "Trump-Proofing." Trump is not amused. But California will rely on what is called the “anti-commandeering” principle: the federal government cannot force states to adopt regulations or administer federal mandates. The Supreme Court used this principle to hold that the federal government could not force state and local governments to conduct background checks before issuing permits for firearms. Republican Political Wonder Woman Susie Wiles, the woman behind Donald Trump's successful presidential run, will become the White House Chief of Staff. This is the first time in history a Woman has been appointed to that position, which is considered the second most powerful job in the Executive Branch. Wiles will help Trump implement his MAGA Agenda, as Democrats, who are in the minority and weakened, will attempt to delay and stall Trump's plans. The Democrat's goal is to do to Trump what Republicans did to Obama. Stop him from appointing Judges and block his legislation. They need to stall for two years until the next congressional elections. In 2026, one-third of the Senate and all members of the House are up for Re-election. Harris and Walz appeared to be working overtime on Saturday. The Vice President campaigned in three States if you consider a guest spot on Saturday Night Live campaigning. Walz was on stage in Arizona, then campaigned door-to-door! Oddly, Trump spent longer than expected in Virginia. A historically Blue State. This may explain why. This is from the New York Times. Former President Donald J. Trump and his allies are rolling out a late-stage campaign strategy that borrows heavily from the subversive playbook he used to challenge his loss four years ago. This time, however, he is counting on reinforcements from outside groups built on the false notion of a stolen election. With Election Day only three days away, Mr. Trump is already claiming the Democrats are “a bunch of cheats,” as his allies in battleground states spread distorted reports of mishaps at the polls to push a narrative of widespread fraud. Mr. Trump and his most prominent supporters have pointed to partisan polling and betting markets to claim that he is heading for a “crushing victory,” as his top surrogate Elon Musk recently put it. The expectation helps set the stage for disbelief and outrage among his supporters should he lose.
One way or another, this is the Final Trump Campaign for President. If he wins, it may mark the beginning of a dark chapter. If he loses, it is unlikely he will run again in four years, potentially leading to a new phase in politics. Why? Age, for one thing. And then there are the multiple felony charges that are pending. He's been found guilty of some counts, others are in the Appeal process, or in limbo. So, hopefully, this is it. The Last Harrah! And true to form, it is ending like it began. Attacking people of color and insulting women. As Winston Churchill once said, "This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” I'm here, as always to remind you to Vote. Have a plan, Vote.
They Hate Us: LISTEN TO WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. Trump has been saying it all along. Remember his first speech during his 2016 run for President when he called Mexican Immigrants "rapists" and criminals. That speech is etched in my brain. So yes, when I see Latinos for Trump, I still don't get it. The latest High Profile attack on people of color and ALL WOMEN, happened at The Racist-Misogynistic Madison Square Garden Trump Nazi Event on Sunday. And now, because of some "UNKNOWN" RACIST WANNA-BE Comedian? Insulted Puerto Rico, some people have decided they are NOT going to take it anymore. Thank God for Puerto Rican-Americans. Thank you! And so I say, pay attention, listen to what they say. Then vote for Harris.
Vice President Kamala Harris told CNN's Anderson Cooper that, "Yes, she believes Trump is a Fascist." Then, she answered questions from UNDECIDED Voters in Pennsylvania. Trump played it safe and attended a rally thrown by loving conservatives, complete with flashing lights and fake glitter. Earlier, the crowd chanted, "Christ is King." You can't make this stuff up. One of the craziest election seasons is heading into the home stretch.
Two Stories - Two Publications - Two Reasons to reject Donald Trump's run for another Term. He does NOT respect the men and women who fight and die for our country. Story Number One is from the New York Times. It features an exclusive interview with John F. Kelly, the former Marine general who was former President Donald Trump's longest-serving chief of staff. Kelly is not endorsing anyone for President, but he is issuing a warning about his former boss. The second story is from The Atlantic, and it is a lengthy article, "Trump: ‘I Need the Kind of Generals That Hitler Had' The Republican nominee's preoccupation with dictators, and his disdain for the American military, is deepening." It is written by Jeffrey Goldberg. But that story begins with a racial slur about "Mexicans." Even though the army private who was brutally murdered was an American of Mexican Heritage. That is where I begin my Political Woman Podcast. Note: The Trump campaign has denied that Trump used the Racial Slur in this story. But The Atlantic and every other publication I've read is repeating the story.
The Secret Service shut down a McDonald's so Donald Trump could learn how to fry-Fries. The entire event was staged, and set up for NO apparent reason. Then there was the 20 minute rambling story about Pro Golfer Arnold Palmer. Which made me want to scream TOO MUCH INFORMATION! TMI! TMI! These two examples of a former president losing it in real time pale when compared to his dangerous, verbal attacks on the Vice President and other Democrats.
The Vice President Faced a Fox Anchor constantly interrupting her. Trump did not win Friends on Univision, the Spanish-language television Network's powerhouse. Nineteen days to the November Election, the Democratic and Republican parties are working overtime to win votes in the closest presidential elections in US history, according to the polls. Three Weeks to the November Election: The Bizarre Town Hall took a crooked, plunging turn into a political abyss when two people were overcome by heat at the Trump Town Hall event in Pennsylvania. As Donald Trump, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noel (the MAGA who proudly shared how she killed her puppy because she didn't like him), and a small audience waited for help to arrive, music began to play on the sound system. Trump then ordered his "people" to find his playlist and play his music instead. Then the ex-president said, "No more questions, let's just listen to music." And so they did, for 39 minutes. Trump then swayed and tried to dance for more than half an hour. I share this, and Trump's use of a phrase made infamous by Nazis in the 1930's and 40's "The Enemy within," in today's podcast.

All the major news headlines are screaming about Donald Trump's "NATIVIST, Anti-Immigration" Attacks. This time the Republican nominee for President is in Aurora, Colorado. This is from the Guardian: Trump intensifies nativist message with sweeping proposal to deport immigrants Donald Trump intensified his politics of nativism and xenophobia on Friday by announcing a sweeping plan to deport Venezuelans he claimed have “infected” a once-peaceful city in Colorado. The Republican presidential nominee held a campaign rally in Aurora on a stage adorned with posters displaying mugshots of people in prison-orange uniforms with descriptions including “illegal immigrant gang members from Venezuela”. Trump told the crowd: “I'm announcing today that, upon taking office, we will have an ‘Operation Aurora' at the federal level to expedite the removals of these savage gangs.” He pledged to invoke the Alien Enemies Act, a 1798 law that allows the president to deport any non-citizen from a country that the US is at war with. “We will send elite squads of Ice [Immigration and Customs Enforcement], border patrol and federal law enforcement officers to hunt down, arrest and deport every last illegal alien gang member until there is not a single one left in this country,” he continued as the crowd roared approval. If they return to the US, Trump said, they will serve an automatic 10 years in prison without parole. “I'm hereby calling for the death penalty for any migrant that kills an American citizen or a law enforcement officer. With your vote, we will achieve complete and total victory over these sadistic monsters. It's going to go very quickly,” he said. In late 2023 and early 2024, a bipartisan group of senators attempted to pass a bill to curb the number of illegal crossings on the southern border. One of the authors of the "Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act," Sen. James Lankford, a Republican from Oklahoma, called it "the most conservative border security bill in four decades." But Donald Trump, Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) and Speaker Mike Johnson and other MAGA Republicans didn't want Democrats to be able to "Run On" the "Border Bill. "As the author of the bill, I didn't write it to give Democrats something to run on. I wanted to pass it and secure the border," Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Connecticut) said in response to Perry's comments. "But at least Republicans are saying the truth out loud. They knew the bill would secure the border — so they killed it to help them politically. And so they did. And now Donald Trump uses the Border Crisis to attack his Presidential Rival Kamala Harris every chance he gets. And Harris responds that if she if elected she will sign it. In Politics and in life, the Rules are different for different people. Take Age. Old Age. We are a nation obsessed with Youth. When President Joe Biden was seeking reelection the media put the spotlight on his every stumble, every slip of the tongue, every mistake. They blamed his Age. What about Trump? It didn't matter that Trump is not that much younger than Biden and he is certainly not a great political orator. The Rules are different for Trump. He spews hate speech and lies. He was impeached twice, charged with multiple felonies, and a jury convicted him of 34 Felonies for Business Fraud, in connection to Hush Money payments to a Porn Star. And still the polls show Harris and Trump are locked in a statistical dead heat. MAGA Republicans love Trump. The media loves Trump. The Rules are different for Trump. Although it is NOT an October Surprise, I was a bit shocked with I logged into the New York Times on Sunday morning to read the article I quote from in this Podcast. One month before election day! Who knows how this started. But here are the facts. In a March 2021 meeting with immigration officials, President Biden said he had asked Vice President Kamala Harris to "oversee diplomatic efforts to get Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras to stem the flow of migrants to the U.S. southern border." Here is the crucial part: Biden asked Harris to handle that "DIPLOMATIC" assignment by having those countries "ENFORCE RESTRICTION ON THEIR RESPECTIVE BORDERS." He did not ask her to be the Border Czar, manage immigration, work directly to develop an Immigration Policy with Congress, draft legislation, or rewrite immigration law. Donald Trump is immune from prosecution for official acts. He can still face trial for private allegedly illegal conduct. That is the 6 to 3 Decision from the Supreme Court. The Court established a broad new definition of White House power that may stand for generations and will further delay Trump's election interference case in D.C. The divided Court, ruled along ideological lines and it is impossible that Trump will go to Trial this year, and much work needs to be done to determine what charges may or may not stick in all of his pending trials. Due to court procedures and the particular way in which the decision was rendered, the lower court will probably not be able to resume work on the case for 32 days; when and if the trial does proceed, it may be with a significantly whittled-down set of evidence. The Historic Presidential Debate, was to put it simply, a mess. The Republican's Convicted Felon Candidate shoveled lies, insults and personal attacks against the President who was clearly suffering from a head cold and a lack of energy. Biden improved as the Debate Debacle worn on, but Trump got worse, answering questions that were not asked, and ignoring the topics to spew personal attacks and yes, more lies. The worst part of what may be the only Presidential Debate in 2024 was CNN. There was NO FACT-CHECKING. So basically, it looked and sounded like the network was workining for Trump.
