Any attempts at finding joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment apart from God always leave us empty. Yes, there may be temporary moments of happiness and perceived satisfaction, but it is never lasting. Millions of people can testify that they never knew real joy until they knew Jesus as Savior and Lord.Main Points:1. As real as our physical hunger is, we have another type of hunger that is just as real. It's spiritual hunger. There is an emptiness that we will attempt to satisfy. Often, we will not recognize that this hunger is spiritual in nature.2. There is satisfaction found in Christ that cannot be found elsewhere. The sweetness of God's presence, the richness of His grace, and the fellowship with the Holy Spirit bring us to a place of being complete in God. There is no lack. Our needs are being met. Our hearts are full of joy, and our lives are at peace with God.3. Jesus did not simply die and rise again so we could gain Heaven. He gave His all so that we could know him and live in a relationship with the living God. Not every message, voice, or feeling we experience is from God. In our daily prayer and devotional, the apostle John warns believers to test the spirits because our emotions, cultural influences, or even spiritual opposition can lead us astray. God’s Spirit always aligns with His Word, glorifies Jesus, and produces peace and holiness in our hearts. When you face decisions or conflicting messages, take time to pray for discernment and measure everything against Scripture. If what you sense points you closer to Christ and aligns with biblical truth, you can move forward with confidence. If it distracts or divides, wait on God’s timing and continue seeking His direction. Discernment takes practice. Paul then reminds Titus of their past, how they were once foolish and disobedient, but emphasizes the kindness and mercy of God, who saved them not by works but through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. Justified by grace, believers are called to devote themselves to doing what is good. Paul warns against foolish controversies and divisive individuals who reject correction. These people are to be rejected. The letter closes with personal instructions and a call for believers to be productive and to meet urgent needs, ensuring that their lives reflect the fruit of grace. We were once lost, ruled by pride, anger, and selfish desires. We remember this not to shame ourselves, but to remain humble. God saved us through His astounding mercy. He washed us clean. He gave us new life through the Holy Spirit. We did nothing to earn it. We now live differently. We speak with kindness, choosing peace over arguments and divisive impulses. We pursue what is good, caring for others with urgency. We meet needs without delay, showing the world what grace has done in us. We remain devoted to good works, reflecting the goodness of God not only in belief but in action. We live purposefully, expecting others to be loving unifiers, because we have all been changed. Ever-present God, thank You for saving us, not because of what we have done, but because of who You are. Your kindness changed everything. You washed us clean. You gave us new life through the Holy Spirit. Help us to live in a way that honors that mercy. Teach us to speak with grace, to act with compassion, and to pursue what is good. Keep us from arguments that divide and distractions that weaken our identity in Jesus Christ. Let our lives reflect the beauty of Your grace and Your powerful renewal. Romans 8:12-13 — The Christian is called to deal with sin in a radical way. The language the apostle Paul uses is “to mortify flesh.” But what exactly does this mean? How does the Christian kill sin? In this sermon on Romans 8:12–13 titled “Sin and the Body,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones examines the passage and looks deeper into the doctrine of sanctification. Specifically, he gives attention to the practical expression of sanctification. He gives both negative ways to mortify sin and positive expressions. What must be remembered, he says, is that the Christian is not powerless against sin. Many false views of the doctrine of sanctification teach this. However, the biblical teaching is that the believer has the Holy Spirit indwelling them. They cannot rely on joyless legalism. Instead, they gaze their attention on the glorification that awaits them. While the Christians practically shun darkness, lust, and enticement, they also expose and denounce immediately any evil that comes out. All it took was Philip's willingness to listen for God's guidance—and then obey. He didn't hesitate or question; he just did what God asked him to do. And because Philip listened, the Ethiopian man heard the good news about Jesus, believed, and wanted to be baptized right away! Sometimes, we might think that sharing the good news about Jesus is only for special people or big moments. But today's story reminds us that God can use anyone, anytime, anywhere, if we are paying attention to his leading. Philip met the Ethiopian where he was, answered his questions, and introduced him to the hope and love found in Jesus. And that's the opportunity God gives us, too. If we're willing to pay attention to the nudges of the Holy Spirit—to the little thoughts that encourage us to speak, share, invite, or simply show love—we might be surprised how God can use us. Sometimes God will prompt us to help a friend, talk to someone who's lonely, or even read the Bible with someone who has questions. The good news of Jesus is for everyone, everywhere. Let's ask God to help us be ready to see those opportunities and to give us words to say. Like Philip, let's step out with courage and trust that God will use us to bring his good news to the world. The Bible tells us, “Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that he saves.” (1 Chronicles 16:23) That's my prayer for my own heart, for my family, and for you. I can remember times when I worked with or for someone who was toxic. I think of one man who was never pleasant, always complaining and demanding, had no encouraging words ever, and truly poisoned the atmosphere in the room when he entered. Do you have a coworker like this? I'm specifically looking at how Jesus would want you and me to respond and interact with the toxic people in our lives. I think the first challenge is to get your own attitude and reactions to toxic people under control. Learn to do some things that will keep you from—as we say—going crazy. Here is the first and most important thing you can do to protect yourself when you're dealing with a truly toxic person. Don't let your thoughts and your mind dwell on them all the time. When dealing with such a disruptive and irritating person—on a regular basis, no less—it's very natural to let their behavior occupy your mind and your thoughts way too much. You dread going to work because you'll have to deal with them. You fume all the way home because you had to deal with them. They can occupy way too much of your thought life. You need to firmly and swiftly boot the person out of your head. Refuse to let them take over your mind. Philippians 4 tells us to think about things that are lovely, pure, noble—and that pretty much excludes a toxic person. Stop giving them time in your mind. And how do you do that? You do it by replacing thoughts of them with good thoughts, thankfulness, reciting your blessings, and focusing on God's goodness. That's what it means to bring every thought into captivity and make it obedient to Christ, as we read in 2 Corinthians 10:5. This spiritual discipline will make a huge difference in your life. If you have not already discovered this truth and learned how to take wrong thoughts captive, I recommend a book I've written on it, entitled Think About What You Think About. As you head out to work each day, pray the Holy Spirit will remind you to boot those wrong thoughts out of your mind, to help you refuse to allow toxic people to occupy your thoughts in a negative and upsetting way. That is a very important first step.

Worship is an integral part of what it is to be human. All of us are worshippers. But the only thing worthy of our worship is the God who is infinite. Every other object of our worship will eat us alive. By contrast, worship of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, means we enter into the life the Trinity has been, is, and will always be enjoying - glorifying one another, and being glorified by one another. This worship, rather than robbing us of life, brings us to life. When we worship in Spirit (our spirits connecting with his Spirit, by means of the Holy Spirit's direction) and in Truth (directing our worship solely to Jesus, the crucified and resurrected Lord of Truth) we engage in true worship. Romans 8:12-13 — There are many aberrant teachings on the doctrine of sanctification. Some like to say the believer is completely hopeless with regards to sin but is this true? Must the Christian only focus on “abiding” in Christ? Does the regenerate person have no power to act against sin? Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones vehemently denies such claims. In his sermon on Romans 8:12–13 titled “Sin and the Christian,” he says the Christian is indeed not hopeless. Instead, the believer is called to realize the truth about their union with Christ. Furthermore, they must not deny the doctrine of regeneration through an insufficient doctrine of sanctification. The Holy Spirit has made them alive and the Spirit of God dwells in them. This gives the Christian power in this life for godly growth. As they walk through this life they should expect maturity. The Christian is far from hopeless in their fight against sin. They have all that they need in Christ and by the Spirit. Dr. Lloyd-Jones admonishes Christians to wake up from their lethargy and realize what God has done to them in Christ. Let them march to Zion, shining forth in good works and glorifying their Father who is in heaven.

She reminds listeners that Paul's letter to the Ephesians moves from teaching about who we are in Christ (chapters 1-3) to how we act because of our identity (chapters 4-6). As Paul closes his letter, he introduces the imagery of spiritual armor, summarizing the main points and equipping believers for spiritual warfare. Paul's message isn't just for specific groups—it's for everyone who claims Christ, regardless of gender, age, or role. If you are in Christ, you are called to be a warrior, not fragile china hidden away. This call is universal across the body of believers. Understanding the Battle Paul urges us to "be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power,” highlighting that our strength comes not from ourselves, but from being in Christ. This is not a battle for our salvation—Christ has already won that war on the cross—but a fight for our effectiveness and witness as believers. Satan cannot take our salvation, but he can undermine our impact if we're unprepared. Stephanie emphasizes that the true battle is spiritual—not against flesh and blood, but against unseen spiritual forces. Personal struggles, relationship challenges, or internal battles are surface-level; behind them is a deeper spiritual conflict. Recognizing this shifts our focus from blaming people or circumstances to standing guard against spiritual opposition. Equipping Ourselves: The Armor of God Paul uses two key actions: “put on” and “take up” the full armor of God. At salvation, we “put on” this armor permanently (sealed with the Holy Spirit), but we must also “take it up” daily, making a conscious choice to stand firm each day. The armor equips us to resist the devil's schemes, knowing the victory is assured through Christ. Stephanie illustrates that we should not wait until the enemy is upon us to prepare; the armor must be worn in readiness. Just as Roman soldiers were only as effective as their preparation, so we must be spiritually ready. Our Posture: Standing by Kneeling The repeated exhortation from Paul is to “stand.” Stephanie challenges us to see that the only way to stand against spiritual attacks is first to kneel before God in submission. Standing in the Lord's strength means a posture of dependence on Him, not self-reliance. If we kneel to God, we can stand against the enemy. If we refuse, we risk kneeling to the enemy by default. Victory and Intentional Living Finally, know that the war is already won. Satan has lost, though he fights to claim small victories day-to-day. We cannot lose our salvation, but we must fight to maintain our effectiveness. The invitation is to daily put on the armor, resist the enemy, and live out our victorious identity in Christ—standing firm in faith and ready for spiritual battle. Takeaway: As a believer, you are a spiritual warrior. Your true battle is not against people or circumstances, but against spiritual forces seeking to undermine your effectiveness. Romans 8:12-13 — There are many aberrant teachings on the doctrine of sanctification. Some like to say the believer is completely hopeless with regards to sin but is this true? Must the Christian only focus on “abiding” in Christ? Does the regenerate person have no power to act against sin? Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones vehemently denies such claims. In his sermon on Romans 8:12–13 titled “Sin and the Christian,” he says the Christian is indeed not hopeless. Instead, the believer is called to realize the truth about their union with Christ. Furthermore, they must not deny the doctrine of regeneration through an insufficient doctrine of sanctification. The Holy Spirit has made them alive and the Spirit of God dwells in them. This gives the Christian power in this life for godly growth. As they walk through this life they should expect maturity. The Christian is far from hopeless in their fight against sin. They have all that they need in Christ and by the Spirit. Dr. Lloyd-Jones admonishes Christians to wake up from their lethargy and realize what God has done to them in Christ. Friends of the Rosary,The Miracle of the Sun, performed by Our Lady on October 13, 1917, was understood by the people as confirmation that the three children were telling the truth about the Marian apparitions and the messages of the Secret of Fatima, which consisted of three parts.The first part was a frightening vision of hell, "where the souls of poor sinners go," and contained an urgent plea from Our Lady for acts of prayer and sacrifice to save souls, with particular emphasis on praying the rosary and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.The second part of the “Secret” prophesied the outbreak of World War II and contained the prediction of the damage that Russia would do to humanity by abandoning the Christian faith and embracing Communism's totalitarianism.The third part was revealed in 2000, coinciding with the beatification of Francisco and Jacinta. It did not contain any striking or cataclysmic prediction, but, instead, affirmed the immense suffering endured by witnesses of the faith in the last century of the second millennium.Sister Lucia, the surviving member of the Fatima visionaries, confirmed that in the vision “the Bishop clothed in white,” who prays for all the faithful, was the Pope. As he was making his way with great difficulty towards the Cross amid the corpses of those who were martyred (bishops, priests, men and women religious, and many lay people), he too fell to the ground, apparently dead, under a hail of gunfire.That vision could have predicted the 1981 attack on Pope John Paul II's life.
