    Martyn Lloyd-Jones Sermon Podcast

Romans 5:9-10 — Paul states that the greatest proof of the love of God is His plan of salvation. The one assurance beyond that is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit Himself. The Holy Spirit bears witness that Christians are indeed children of God. Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones notes in this sermon on Romans 5:9-10 that after Paul discusses being justified by God, he uses the phrase “how much more then.” Christ has already died, which meant that His people no longer have to face God's wrath. Also much more, Christ gave the gift of the Holy Spirit as well. Dr. Lloyd- Jones then discusses justification and how the cross procures this justification on the Christian's behalf. It is not human works, faith, or self- sanctification that justifies; it is purely the work of Christ on the cross. This act guarantees final salvation, when Christ comes to receive His church and His people are with Him in glory for eternity.

The Wright Brothers accomplished something on December 17, 1903 that changed the course of history. And yet, no one believed them. Their hometown of Dayton didn't pull together a big parade to welcome the boys home from Kitty Hawk—no one was in a celebratory mood. In fact, one in every hundred Daytonians believed the brothers had actually accomplished what they said that they had accomplished. Moments like this are not uncommon in the landscape of the Christian experience. Often the very things we are laboring overtime to see accomplished in our life by the Holy Spirit are not understood, believed, or appreciated by those closest to us. What would the proper response to such strange indifference be?

Bible Reading: Ephesians 4:1-7; Hebrews 13:15-16As Dr. Jensen talked about his work as a missionary, Nolan wondered what it would be like to move to a different country to serve God. Dr. Jensen described it as God giving him such a deep love for the people in that country that he had to move there, but Nolan doubted he'd ever be able to make such a big sacrifice, even if God wanted him to.Nolan listened intently as Dr. Jensen told a story about fixing a truck with the help of his sixteen-year-old son, Joel. "We didn't have the right tools, and Joel came up with one crazy idea after another. Just when we were about to give up, the engine roared to life! We praised God right then and there."On the way home from church, Nolan brought up the truck story. "It's too bad they don't have better tools to work with, isn't it?" He grinned at his dad. "You should have been there, Dad. You have tools to fix just about anything!"Over the next few days, Nolan often thought about Dr. Jensen's lack of tools. The more he thought about it, the more he wanted to do something to help. I have some money saved up I could use, he thought. But then I won't have money for a new bike. Nolan tried to forget it, but he couldn't, so he decided to talk to his dad about it. "Dad, do you think God wants me to buy tools for the missionaries with my bike money? Could I get what they need with the amount I have?" "That's a great idea, Nolan. I can get tools at discount prices." Dad beamed. "I think the Holy Spirit is helping you love others like Jesus by putting their needs before your own desires."Nolan nodded. "Getting a new bike can wait." As he spoke, Nolan realized he was ready to make a sacrifice to help the missionaries. It's not as big as moving to a foreign country, he thought. But I think I'm beginning to understand how God can make you care about someone enough that you're willing to make sacrifices for them. It's like what Jesus did on the cross for me! He smiled at his dad. "Let's go pick out some tools!" –Esther M. BaileyHow About You?Do you know anyone who's made a big sacrifice to serve God? Have you ever made a sacrifice to help someone? Jesus loves us so much that He sacrificed His life for us. When we trust in Him, we have the Holy Spirit within us to help us make sacrifices for others out of love. Whether big or small, the sacrifices you make for others show them the love of Jesus.Today's Key Verse:This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. (NIV) (1 John 3:16)Today's Key Thought:Make sacrifices for others

Full Text of ReadingsSolemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Lectionary: 621, 622The Saint of the day is Assumption of the Blessed Virgin MaryThe Story of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary On November 1, 1950, Pope Pius XII defined the Assumption of Mary to be a dogma of faith: “We pronounce, declare and define it to be a divinely revealed dogma that the immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul to heavenly glory.” The pope proclaimed this dogma only after a broad consultation of bishops, theologians and laity. There were few dissenting voices. What the pope solemnly declared was already a common belief in the Catholic Church. We find homilies on the Assumption going back to the sixth century. In following centuries, the Eastern Churches held steadily to the doctrine, but some authors in the West were hesitant. However by the 13th century there was universal agreement. The feast was celebrated under various names—Commemoration, Dormition, Passing, Assumption—from at least the fifth or sixth century. Today it is celebrated as a solemnity. Scripture does not give an account of Mary's assumption into heaven. Nevertheless, Revelation 12 speaks of a woman who is caught up in the battle between good and evil. Many see this woman as God's people. Since Mary best embodies the people of both Old and New Testaments, her assumption can be seen as an exemplification of the woman's victory. Furthermore, in 1 Corinthians 15:20, Paul speaks of Christ's resurrection as the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. Since Mary is closely associated with all the mysteries of Jesus' life, it is not surprising that the Holy Spirit has led the Church to believe in Mary's share in his glorification. So close was she to Jesus on earth, she must be with him body and soul in heaven. Reflection In the light of the Assumption of Mary, it is easy to pray her Magnificat (Luke 1:46–55) with new meaning. In her glory she proclaims the greatness of the Lord and finds joy in God her savior. God has done marvels to her and she leads others to recognize God's holiness. She is the lowly handmaid who deeply reverenced her God and has been raised to the heights. From her position of strength she will help the lowly and the poor find justice on earth, and she will challenge the rich and powerful to distrust wealth and power as a source of happiness. A Generosity Game Plan with Kirk Cousins

Jim Elliot once wrote, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”“Generous” might not be the first word that comes to mind when you think about pro athletes, but Kirk Cousins is rewriting that playbook. The three-time Pro Bowl quarterback in the NFL is using his platform—and resources—for eternal impact. Today, we'll hear how his faith shapes everything from football to finances.Kirk Cousins is the starting quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons and a veteran leader in the National Football League (NFL). He previously spent six seasons with the Washington Commanders and six with the Minnesota Vikings. A four-time Pro Bowler and outspoken man of faith, he is also the cofounder of the Julie & Kirk Cousins Foundation, which supports families and youth through faith-based initiatives.A Legacy of Generosity: Lessons from His ParentsGrowing up as a pastor's kid, Cousins remembers how his parents modeled generosity long before he had a bank account of his own.“My mom had the gift of hospitality,” he says. “Even when I didn't think I needed money, she'd hand me two twenties before I went out with friends. There was just this open-handedness.”While his dad managed the family finances with intentionality, it was his mother's willingness to give freely that left the deepest mark. “It was caught, not just taught,” Cousins reflects, emphasizing how their example shaped his understanding of stewardship early on.From Minimum Wage to Signing Bonuses: A Crash Course in StewardshipWhen Cousins was drafted into the NFL, his first check—a six-figure signing bonus—was a wake-up call.“As a college kid who had never earned more than minimum wage, I didn't know what to do,” he recalls. “I called my dad, and he said, ‘I don't know either!'”That moment marked the beginning of a stewardship journey—one that included learning to give, save, and live below his means in a world of excess. It wasn't easy, especially when surrounded by peers embracing a more lavish lifestyle. But Cousins understood that as an athlete, his income had a shorter runway.“You're approaching a cliff,” he says. “So it's scary to give when your career has an end date. But that's where faith comes in—trusting that God will provide beyond your own earning power.”It would be easy, Cousins admits, to treat financial obedience like a checklist—give, save, repeat. But biblical stewardship isn't about rules; it's about surrender.“I've done that—just checked the boxes. But that's not the abundant life Jesus promises. It's not religion, it's relationship.”He points to Jesus' parable of the treasure in the field (Matt. 13:44): “Once you see Jesus as the treasure, everything else becomes a logical response. Of course you'd sell everything to have Him. Stewardship flows from seeing Him clearly.”When Faith Feels Risky: Giving on a Diminishing TimelineThe tension for Cousins lies in balancing the enjoyment of God's provision with wisdom about the future.“I actually enjoy those moments that require more faith. When I give, and I don't know what's next, it puts the pressure back on God—where it belongs.”But he's quick to acknowledge the gray areas. “What's wise versus what's excessive? There's no formula. You have to walk with God and ask for His guidance daily.”One of the most valuable pieces of advice Kirk received early in his career came from a generous mentor: “Always give in unity with your wife.”That advice stuck.“When Julie isn't comfortable, I pause and pray. Her perspective might be the Holy Spirit speaking. Giving together strengthens our marriage and our stewardship.”Cousins sees their giving not only as a financial decision, but as a spiritual discipline of unity and trust.Planning for the Future: Wisdom Before WealthAs parents to young boys, Kirk and Julie have also had to consider how best to plan their estate. They've established a family office to prepare for the future—but with a strong desire to pass on wisdom before wealth.“We want to get to the end of our lives and say: the wisest hands to put this in are our kids'. But we also want to be realistic. If it wouldn't be wise to pass along wealth, we want our plan to reflect that.”Much of their estate will also go to their foundation, which they hope will be spent down soon after their passing. “We don't want it to live on in perpetuity with intentions we never had. We want to make an impact now.”So, where is Kirk Cousins most excited to give right now? The answer goes back to his roots.“I went to a Christian high school—Holland Christian—and it profoundly impacted my life. I want to make it more affordable for other families, support teachers, and strengthen Christian education.”It's a full-circle moment: a public school kid transformed by Christian community, now investing in the same kind of life-shaping environments for others.Final Whistle: A Life Well StewardedKirk Cousins is more than an NFL quarterback. He's a husband, father, and faithful steward who is using his influence to glorify God—not just in the end zone, but in the quiet decisions of budgeting, giving, and planning for the future. His story reminds us: Stewardship is not about how much we have—it's about how faithfully we respond to the One who gave it all.On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I own my home outright and keep hearing about home title protection services. How real is the risk of title fraud, and should I be concerned?I have rental properties in Arkansas, but my kids in California don't want them. I'm worried that when I pass, they'll sell them quickly for way less than they're worth. Should I go ahead and sell them now and put the money in a trust for my grandkids' education—or is there a better option?”Resources Mentioned:Faithful Steward: FaithFi's New Quarterly Magazine (Become a FaithFi Partner)The Julie & Kirk Cousins FoundationWisdom Over Wealth: 12 Lessons from Ecclesiastes on MoneyLook At The Sparrows: A 21-Day Devotional on Financial Fear and AnxietyRich Toward God: A Study on the Parable of the Rich FoolFind a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA) or Certified Christian Financial Counselor (CertCFC)FaithFi App Remember, you can call in to ask your questions most days at (800) 525-7000. How do you find joy when the diagnosis feels devastating? How can you become the joyful person God calls you to be—even in the midst of your deepest pain?Author Margaret Feinberg was nearing the completion of a book on joy when she received a life-altering diagnosis: aggressive cancer. What followed was a profound season of wrestling—an honest, raw search to understand what joy truly means when suffering feels overwhelming. Through that journey, Margaret discovered a deeper, more authentic belief about joy: that it can be a defiant act of worship in the darkest valleys. And when we choose to give joy away—even when we don't feel it—our own joy can begin to grow.In the midst of her pain, Margaret encountered the transformative power and presence of the Holy Spirit. Her latest book, **The God You Need to Know: Experience the Holy Spirit's Power and Presence Today**, invites readers to experience that same presence no matter what they're walking through. In this uplifting conversation, Davey and Margaret discuss how to truly show up for others in ways that heal rather than hurt, where joy can be found in suffering, and how to navigate the lingering fear that often follows hardship. If you're in a season where joy feels distant, this episode will encourage you to see that even small acts of sharing joy with others can help awaken it in your own heart as you walk through suffering. Join your host, Hunter, as he guides us through day 227 of our journey in Scripture. Today's readings take us from the prophetic words of Jeremiah—speaking into exile, hope, and the deep struggles of the human heart—to the exuberant praise in Psalm 96, and finally into the tender, powerful moments Jesus shares with His disciples in John 16. Hunter invites us to imagine what it would be like to spend a whole day with Jesus—free from judgment, fear, and condemnation, and filled instead with peace and God's loving presence. As we listen, we're reminded that Christ's presence and the Spirit are available to us today, wherever we are, inviting us into a life marked by deep joy and abiding faith. Stay with us for Scripture, reflection, and prayer to help you ground your day in God's word and love. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Imagine a day with Jesus—just beginning your day with him, having coffee, driving to work, simply sharing your routines and moments with him. As you spend this day with Jesus, you soon realize it is a day like no other. It's a day without judgment, a day without fear, a day without condemnation—a day lived in God's life-giving presence, where you are truly free. How could anything be better than that? That's exactly what the disciples experienced: days and years walking with Jesus, learning from him, being next to him, their eyes opened to who God is and what he is truly like—self-giving, radically forgiving, and co-suffering in his love for all, even for enemies. For these disciples, there didn't seem a greater reality than simply being by his side. But in John 16, Jesus tells them something almost unimaginable. He says it's better for them—better for us—that he should go. Why? Because as he departs, he promises to send the Advocate, the Spirit of God, who will dwell not just with a few, but in all who receive him. This Advocate, the Holy Spirit, reveals to the world the true character and glory of God. He brings God's abiding presence into every believer's life, awakening us to a deeper reality: Christ, not just among us, but within us—wherever we are, whatever our circumstance. The presence of Christ in us is God's best gift, given freely today to all his children. No matter if you're in Cincinnati, Somerset, Perth, or São Paulo, the Spirit of Christ is with you, awakening your heart to the presence and peace of God. Through him, you can live this day—every day—without condemnation, without fear, enjoying the peace and abundant joy that Jesus gives. God's best is yours, right now. That's the prayer I have for my own soul: to live and walk in that presence, in that peace and freedom. It's the prayer I hold for my family—my wife, my daughters, my son. And it's the prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord of life, you have awakened me again to the gift of this day. You go before me, walk beside me and dwell within me. Let me walk slowly in your presence. May I resist the hurried spirit of this world and instead breathe deep of your peace. Open my eyes to beauty, my ears to your voice, and my heart to the quiet work of grace. Help me not to strive, but to abide, not to achieve, but to receive. Today. Let my words carry your kindness. My actions reflect your mercy. My thoughts be anchored in your truth that I am yours and you are with me. Amen. And now, as our Lord has taught us, we are bold to pray. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.” (1 Peter 5:8–9 NLT) Often after great victories, the greatest challenges and temptations of the Christian life will come. I have found that after great blessings in my life, after God works in a powerful way, the devil will be there to challenge it. Think about it. After God had powerfully worked through Elijah on Mount Carmel, the prophet became so discouraged that he wanted to die. After Jesus was transfigured, He came down from the mountain to find a demon-possessed person waiting for Him. After Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River, after the Holy Spirit came upon Him in the form of a dove, and after God said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy” (Matthew 3:17 NLT), Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After the dove came the devil. The devil will always be there to challenge whatever God has done. It may come after church, after God has blessed you and spoken to you. You may leave the parking lot and get hit with a heavy-duty temptation. That’s the devil’s way. He wants to make your life miserable. Most importantly, he wants to steal anything that God has done in your life. That’s why you need to heed the warning of the apostle Peter in 1 Peter 5:8–9 above. You need to stay alert to the devil’s schemes in all settings, in good times and bad. You can’t afford to make the mistake of thinking you can anticipate the devil’s every move. You can certainly anticipate some. If you have self-awareness, you know your areas of vulnerability. You’re all too familiar with the temptations that have worked against you in the past. So, in spiritual battle, you’re likely to be hyper-attuned to them and (understandably) diligent about protecting yourself from them. But when those battles are over, and you walk away victorious, Peter’s warning in 1 Peter 5:8 still applies. “Stay alert!” (NLT). Because if the devil can’t get you to give in to temptation, he may be able to get you to overinflate your ego as you enjoy your victory. Pride can be just as enticing as sexual sin. If you start to believe that you deserve more credit, more followers, or more acknowledgment for your spiritual maturity and good deeds, the devil’s got you just where he wants you. Anything that weakens your faith or testimony is a battle victory for him. The same goes for every other believer in the arena, doing battle with the devil. That’s why it’s always a good battle strategy to pray for any person whom you know God is using. The more you step out to be used by the Lord, the more you can expect opposition from the devil. Reflection question: What are some hidden areas of vulnerability, especially when things are going well, that the devil might exploit in your life? Friends of the Rosary,Today, August 14, is the Memorial of St. Maximilian Mary Kolbe (1894-1941), a Polish Franciscan, friar, priest, and martyr of Auschwitz, who founded a movement of Marian consecration called Militia of the Immaculata, With his preaching and writing, he undertook an intense apostolic mission in Europe and Asia.Imprisoned in Auschwitz during the Second World War, he offered himself in exchange for a young father of a large family who was to be executed, Francis Gajowniczek. When the captors couldn't kill him from starvation in the concentration camp, they ended his life with a lethal injection on August 14, 1941.In 1927, he established an evangelization center near Warsaw called Niepokalanow, the "City of the Immaculata." By 1939, the City had expanded from eighteen friars to an incredible 650, making it the largest Catholic religious house in the world. To better "win the world for the Immaculata," the friars utilized modern printing and administrative techniques, enabling countless catechetical and devotional works, a daily newspaper with a circulation of 230,000, and a monthly magazine with a circulation of over one million.Maximilian started a shortwave radio station and planned to build a motion picture studio—he was a true "apostle of the mass media." He established a City of the Immaculata in Nagasaki, Japan, in 1930, and envisioned missionary centers worldwide.Maximilian was a ground-breaking theologian. His insights into the Immaculate Conception anticipated the Marian theology of the Second Vatican Council and further developed the Church's understanding of Mary as "Mediatrix" of all the graces of the Trinity, and as "Advocate" for God's people.Pope St. John Paul II canonized him in 1982 and proclaimed him a "martyr of charity" and "Patron Saint of Our Difficult Century." Francis Gajowniczek was in attendance. He is a patron of journalists, families, prisoners, the pro-life movement, and the chemically addicted.Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New York• August 14, 2025, Today's Rosary on YouTube | Daily broadcast at 7:30 pm ET

Welcome to Episode #179 of the Way of the Bible podcast. This is our third of eight episodes in our Twenty-Third mini-series entitled The Return of Jesus Christ [2]. On today's episode, we'll look at New Testament passages that speak of the most written about time in the Bible, the return of Jesus Christ to judge the world in righteousness on the Day of the Lord [3].What we are chasing through the Scriptures is directly related to a matter-of-fact statement God made to the serpent when pronouncing a curse on him in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 3:15 –  And I [God] will put enmity between you [the serpent] and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”The prophetic Scriptures tell of a day yet to come when Jesus, the offspring of the woman, will do away with the serpent who enslaves mankind to do his will because of their fear of death. Because Adam ate the forbidden fruit in defiance of God's command, sin entered the world and death through sin. In consequence, corruption to decay also came upon the entire created cosmos. Paul, in speaking to his understudy – Timothy, describes the condition of those opposed to the gospel in 2 Timothy 2:26 – Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. This is where I get “being taken captive to do the devil's will.”The writer of Hebrews speaks of mankinds enslavement to the devil in Hebrews 2:14-15 – Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.A coming global leader who will be the offspring of the devil will arise in the days ahead. He will charm and deceive the world and become it's leader. In jealousy and wrath he will order the peoples and nations of the world to conduct genocide on both Jews and Christians in the world at that time. He and an army he will be leading to attack Jerusalem will be destroyed in a moment by a word from Jesus' mouth on the Day of the Lord. The Day Jesus returns to judge the world in righteousness and redeem a remnant of Israel still in the land.

Why the Disciples Failed . . . and How We Can Avoid It This Homily begins with the Shema . . . “Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone” . . . . . . as a call to attentive listening, not just speaking or acting on our own plans. Scripture shows the consequences of listening or failing to listen: Adam disobeyed because he did not listen, while Abraham, Mary, and the saints prospered in God's will because they did. “Israel” refers to those who cling to God, even in struggle. God alone is to be valued above all else . . . above self, possessions, and ambitions . . . and loved with heart (passions), soul (spiritual being), and strength (talents). St. Augustine's counsel . . . love God in all things and all things for God . . . reminds us to see Him behind all creation and relationships. How? The Homily tells us! Why Did The Disciples Fail Today's Gospel account of the disciples failing to heal a possessed boy illustrates that without God's direction, we can do nothing, even if we have succeeded before. Only by allowing God to lead us, through the Holy Spirit, can we truly forgive, heal, and love. The Homily ends with a prayer for openness and surrender to God's guidance. What do typhoon evacuations, koala selfies, and second breakfast in Hobbiton have in common? They've all been part of Deacon Bob's adventurous month.  After a few weeks apart, Father Dave and Deacon Bob are back, swapping globe-trotting tales, ministry moments, and a surprisingly full slate of sports updates. Bob's recent trip took him from the typhoon-swept Philippines to Singapore, Perth, Sydney, and a bucket-list stop in New Zealand's Hobbiton (yes, complete with hobbit holes, the Green Dragon Inn, and second breakfast).  Along the way, he preached to 90 youth leaders just hours after a typhoon hit, met a koala, saw kangaroos, and even met a listener named Rain who drove five hours just to hear him speak. There were plenty of memorable meals, from perfect pancakes to less-than-crispy bacon.  Meanwhile, Father Dave stayed stateside, baptizing great-nieces (one walked to her own baptism), speaking at the Knights of Columbus Conference, and making a moving visit to the Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine in Oklahoma City. He shares Rother's remarkable story—from failing Latin in seminary, to obeying his bishop's call to return to Guatemala, to his martyrdom in 1981—and the beauty of a shrine built right in the heart of the city it serves.  Sports fans get plenty too: the debut of MLB's first female umpire Jen Pawol (including her Hall of Fame–bound first pitch), Tom Brady's towering new statue, and even a trivia challenge about the University of Michigan making draft history.  Naturally, there are detours, including CGI vs. AI, bad sports statues, and ministry moments that transcended cultural boundaries. But through it all, the heart stays the same: joyfully sharing the Gospel, wherever God sends you (even if it's to a sheep paddock in New Zealand).    Highlighted Sections  (00:00) Sports, Schedules, and Saying Goodbye  The guys open with bittersweet news about the podcast winding down, why recording has gotten harder, and an invitation for listeners to share favorite memories. They then go into the week's light sports slate and review the new Superman. Even with the end in sight, their trademark banter is alive and well.    (05:41) Football, Statues, and Sports Trivia  Deacon Bob previews a Buccaneers-Steelers preseason game while Father Dave looks forward to Steelers training camp. They discuss Tom Brady's towering statue and celebrate Jen Pawol historic debut as MLB's first female umpire. The segment wraps with a trivia challenge about a university making draft history in all four major leagues.    (15:44) From Typhoons to Hobbit Holes  Bob recounts ministry in the Philippines, Perth, and New Zealand, including speaking to youth leaders after a typhoon and connecting with alumni abroad. He describes walking through the Shire set from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, complete with hobbit holes and the Green Dragon Inn. Jenny may not be a huge fan of the films, but even she found the tour magical.    (23:42) Sydney, Koalas, and the Ends of the Earth  From welcoming bishops to preaching across cultures, Bob reflects on moments when the Holy Spirit's anointing was tangible. He shares encounters with young adults, a koala, and a listener who drove five hours to hear him speak. Each stop reaffirmed the universal joy of sharing the Gospel.    (25:42) Baptisms, Knights, and Blessed Stanley Rother  Father Dave talks about baptizing his great-nieces and representing Franciscan University at the Knights of Columbus Conference. He shares the moving story of Blessed Stanley Rother a missionary priest martyred in Guatemala, and describes visiting the shrine dedicated to him. The witness of Rother's courage and devotion left a lasting impression.    (32:37) Feast Days and a Chapel Blessing  Looking ahead to the Feast of the Assumption they pray for peace amid global tensions. Father Dave previews the blessing of Franciscan University's newly renovated Christ the King Chapel, while Bob outlines upcoming speaking engagements. The conversation closes with anticipation for the start of the school year.    Resources Mentioned  Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine – Learn more about the first American-born martyr  MLB First Female Umpire – Jen Pawol – Read about her historic debut  Hobbiton Movie Set – Explore the filming location of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit  Feast of the Assumption – August 15, a Holy Day of Obligation in the Catholic Church  Christ the King Chapel Renovation – Franciscan University's expanded and renewed chapel  Purposeful Lab – New season started on Faith and Reason

Produced/Edited By: Marrio Escobar (Owner of D2L Productions)  In this podcast episode of "No Compromise Radio," host Mike Abendroth discusses the theological concept of "limited atonement," arguing that Jesus died only for the elect, not for every person ever born. He addresses common counterarguments, particularly interpretations of "world" in John 3:16 and "whole world" in 1 John 2:2, explaining that the term "world" in these contexts refers to humanity as a whole, including Gentiles, rather than every individual. Mike bases his primary argument for limited atonement on the Trinity, asserting that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit share a single will, and since the Father chooses only some for salvation, the Son's atonement must also be for that chosen group.  Produced/Edited By: Marrio Escobar (Owner of D2L Productions)  Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Rx5CBZ5ApjM

This gives the Enemy a foothold in your heart.Samantha shares a personal story about her daughter's sensitivity and how it gave the Enemy an opening.Addressing these issues is important early on to prevent long-term damage in children. However, not all trauma is extreme, and even small, unresolved issues can build up over time and cause significant emotional pain.[09:43] The Role of the Church in Healing Satanic Ritual AbuseThe church is important in providing healing and deliverance especially when many people feel rejected or unheard in church settings. Many Christians struggle with the idea of being affected by demons despite being saved from Satanic ritual abuse — although salvation came unto them, they have yet to heal.In the same vein, there's a critical difference between the regeneration of the spirit and the healing of the soul.Christians need to understand that healing is not a one-time event. It's a process.[15:36] Practical Steps for Healing and Surrender to ChristAs Christians, we must remember the power that comes from surrendering to Christ and immersing ourselves in prayer and the Word.Being prayerful and seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit are some of the most powerful tools for us to receive true healing.[18:25] Samantha: “You can't just expect the Spirit to just fall on, the Holy Spirit to just do everything. You have got to take initiative and surrender to the Lord.”Healing doesn't come from nothing — it's hard work. It requires us to take the initiative to heal ourselves as well.We need a genuine desire for Jesus and the willingness to do the difficult work that goes into healing your soul.[20:27] The Importance of Identity and Whose We AreIt is important to recognize your identity in Christ and understand who we belong to.David, despite his sins, was remembered for being a man after God's own heart because of his desire for the Lord. There is a need for discipleship and understanding the word to grasp one's identity in Christ.[29:43] Michelle: “I want you to know that when someone finally recognizes who they are and whose they are, this is one of the key things. Even while Daniel was in Babylon, Daniel never forgot who he was.”As Christians, it's our God-given obligation to love others and bear witness to the love of Jesus.[30:38] The Role of the Holy Spirit in HealingMichelle discusses the role of the Holy Spirit in healing and the importance of being open to His guidance. One story to remember in the Bible is that of the woman at the well, who, due to her faith, was transformed and healed by the love of Jesus. There's a need for genuine love and support from the Church to help others heal.Receiving healing lets a person help others in turn. The Church becomes the bridge between brokenness and healing.[36:28] Holiness and RepentanceThe role of the church in addressing triggers lies in providing healing for those who are struggling. The soul needs to walk in the power and authority of God and Christ — something a person's Church must understand.Healing requires holiness and repentance; part of a true desire for God comes from overcoming and repenting our sins.Healing comes from a place of genuine love and support, especially from the Church.Overcoming the deep wounds of Satanic ritual abuse requires addressing the root causes behind a person's emotional pain and trauma.[51:28] Closing Prayer and EncouragementThrough God's guidance and protection, we can overcome all adversity, even that which comes from the Enemy.May you remember to be a part of the remnant Church.Keep true to God's commandments and love.About MichelleMichelle Young is a devoted servant of God, with over 30 years of experience in discipling and counseling those seeking spiritual healing and freedom. Fr. Jonathan Romanoski, FSSP is Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Providence, Rhode Island. He was ordained in 2008.   In Today's Show In an ectopic pregnancy situation, can the baby be baptized? What should a person do if they are scrupulous and they lose their spiritual director? If one had to kill another man in a time of war, is that still sinful? I made a general confession months ago and yesterday I remembered a mortal sin that was not confessed. Am I still in a state of grace after remembering it? When a person dies, what happens to their guardian angel? At the particular & last judgement, do you get reviewed for the sins that have been forgiven and you've done penance for? When confessing the sin of impure thoughts, how much detail do we have to give? When I pray, should I address my prayer to “God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit” or if I address my prayer to God does it cover all three? I've been reading the documents of Vatican II and, frankly, I find some of them ambiguous or even contradictory to prior magisterial teachings, especially Dignitatis Humanae and Nostra Aetate. How can we reconcile these texts with the consistent pre-conciliar magisterium without falling into either sedevacantism or blind obedience? Any book recommendations on a Catholic understanding of the end times? Someone told me that FSSP priests are against the use of Father Ripperger's binding prayers & Auxilium christianorum prayers for the laity. Is this true? If so, could you explain why? Is offering your Holy Communion (say for deceased parents) the most powerful prayer because it's offered while receiving? Friends of the Rosary,How are we investing the treasure of our lives?Pope Leo XIV invited the faithful this Sunday to share not only material goods and possessions, but also our time, affection, presence, and empathy.Pope Leo XIV encouraged the faithful to share not only material goods but time, presence, and empathy.Quoting Jesus' words, “Sell what you own and give alms”, the Holy Father urged Christians not to cling to the gifts they have received from God, but to use them generously for the good of others, especially those most in need.”Each person, he continued, is a unique, priceless good in God's plan – a living, beating capital that must be cultivated and invested, otherwise it dries up and loses its value.”The works of mercy are the most fruitful bank. Even the smallest gesture, the Pope said, can have infinite value, as in the Gospel's image of the poor widow who, with two small coins, becomes “the richest person in the world”.Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! Over the last few weeks, we have been answering questions about the Holy Spirit. Though leadership is often a discussed topic in the church, we rarely talk about how to lead a church in the things of the Spirit. In today's conversation, we're talking about spiritual leadership and learning to discern the work of the Spirit in our services and churches.

“We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are.” Today we're revisiting a conversation on the life-changing impact of perspective. Cara and Dot unpack how seeing life through God's light can transform us emotionally, spiritually, and even physically. As we step into a new school year and transition from summer to fall, this episode offers fresh encouragement for bringing light into dark places. Grab your coffee and settle in for this uplifting discussion! Got a question about today's episode or something else you'd like to hear us talk about on the show? Let us know! Episode recap:Start by writing down Matthew 6:22-23 (0:14)There are two ways to look at things; through the lens of light or of darkness (4:09)“We see things not as they are, but as we are.” (5:54)We try to play God instead of going to God and asking Him what is really going on (14:04)Only the Holy Spirit can tell us what is true (17:13) Choosing a healthy perspective is sometimes moment by moment (20:12)If you are being tempted to focus on darkness, it's ok to put a boundary up (30:35)Go to God and pray, “Is what I am seeing real/true?” (33:30)We approach things based on our limited perspective and knowledge (36:06)There is danger in focusing so much on the dark that our eyes adjust and become comfortable in darkness.
