Silence the Storm WithinMegan J. Conner writes and speaks with raw honesty about the inner chaos that often begins before our feet even hit the floor. With candid vulnerability, she describes anxious thoughts that arrive uninvited and swirl like storms. But through Scripture—especially Psalm 131 and the calming of the storm in Luke 8—she reminds us of the One who speaks “Peace, be still” to our restless minds. Even in our spiraling thoughts, God is present. He doesn’t condemn us for the clamor; instead, He invites us into quiet, into trust, and into peace. Like a weaned child resting in safety, our souls can find calm in His embrace.

Join Christina Brown for a personal conversation about anxiety and how it can affect our lives in different ways. Together, they share practical tools to help manage anxiety, such as recognizing negative thoughts, using Scripture, and life coaching. They also introduce our upcoming "Anxiety Intensive" program for Catholic Mom Calm members, starting in July, which includes a workbook, one-on-one coaching, group calls, and a private Slack small group. The program aims to empower women to manage their anxiety, and support their loved ones facing the same challenge, with a focus on community and freedom. This supportive and safe space is perfect for anyone looking to take control of their anxiety and enjoy life to the fullest. We help Catholic moms quiet the chaos in their minds so they can hear the Holy Spirit and live with more peace.

Our Mothers Knew It with Maria EckersleyA Creative Study of Come, Follow MeD&C [DD&C 76]“Great Shall Be Their Reward and Eternal Shall Be Their Glory”July 7 – July 13, 2025WEEK 28 SUMMARY=================Doctrine and Covenants 76 is a profound revelation given to Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon in 1832, often referred to as "The Vision." It unveils the plan of salvation and the afterlife, describing the three degrees of glory: the Celestial, Terrestrial, and Telestial kingdoms. The vision begins with a testimony of Jesus Christ and His role as the Savior. It then details the fate of those who will inherit each kingdom, emphasizing the importance of faith, repentance, and obedience to the gospel. The Celestial Kingdom is reserved for those who receive the testimony of Jesus, are baptized, and keep the commandments, becoming joint-heirs with Christ. The Terrestrial Kingdom is for honorable people who were not valiant in their testimony of Jesus. The Telestial Kingdom is for those who did not receive the gospel or the testimony of Jesus in the flesh. The revelation also touches on the fate of the sons of perdition, who deny the Holy Spirit after having received it. This section of the Doctrine and Covenants provides a comprehensive view of the afterlife, highlighting God's mercy and justice.SPARK 1: REDEFINING VICTORY================OBJECT LESSON: “I Will Reveal All Mysteries”: Unfolding Revelation CardSPARK 2: VESSELS OF WRATH===================================OBJECT LESSON: “Valiant in the Testimony of Jesus”: Temporary CastsSPARK 3: SHOWCASE SHOWDOWN=============================OBJECT LESSON: “As The Moon Differs from The Sun”: $100 Bill AnalogyCHAPTERS=========00:00:14 INTRO00:04:26 QUICK GLANCE00:07:44 SPARK 1 INSIGHTS00:16:09 SPARK 1 OBJECT LESSON00:20:20 SPARK 1 QUESTIONS00:22:20 SPARK 2 INSIGHTS00:31:06 SPARK 2 OBJECT LESSON00:35:39 SPARK 2 QUESTIONS00:38:26 SPARK 3 INSIGHTS00:47:32 SPARK 3 OBJECT LESSON00:52:28 SPARK 3 QUESTIONS00:55:31 WRAP UPLINKS=====WEB: https://www.gather.meckmom.comETSY: https://www.etsy.com/shop/meckmomINSTAGRAM: Instagram @meckmomlifePODCAST: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST DISCLAIMER=================================This podcast represents my own thoughts and opinions. When answers are slow in coming, ask the Holy Spirit to help you persevere in prayer.
Worship Leader Taylor Cummings illustrates how doubt creeps in when we shift our focus away from Jesus, using Peter's experience of walking on water to show the importance of trusting the Spirit's leading even amid life's storms.
As I think about surrender, I'm reminded of how much of a struggle it can be for us. After all, surrender feels like losing. No one wants to raise the white flag of surrender.Main Points:1. We must see that everything we need is on the other side of surrendering our life to Jesus. As long as we are resistant and focused on ourselves, we'll miss out on what God could have done in and through our lives.2. In prayer, let's search our hearts today and listen for the Holy Spirit to address those areas of our own lives that we may not have surrendered to God.3. Let's experience the joy of a life fully surrendered to God. May we be able to truly say, “All to thee my blessed Savior, I surrender all.”Today's Scripture Verses:Mark 10:17-22 - “As Jesus was starting out on his way to Jerusalem, a man came running up to him, knelt down, and asked, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked. “Only God is truly good. But to answer your question, you know the commandments: ‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. You must not cheat anyone. Honor your father and mother.” “Teacher,” the man replied, “I've obeyed all these commandments since I was young.” Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven't done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” At this the man's face fell, and he went away sad, for he had many possessions.”Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group

You were made to shine. In “Shine Your Light,” Whitney Hopler invites us to reflect on the purpose of our spiritual glow. Just as fireflies light up the night without effort, we’re called to radiate the hope, peace, and goodness of God. Jesus makes it clear in Matthew 5: your light isn’t for hiding—it’s for helping others see Him. When we live in kindness, walk in integrity, and reflect His love, people notice. And that’s the point—not to spotlight ourselves, but to glorify our Father in heaven. Key Takeaways: Your light is a gift from God—meant to shine Good deeds rooted in love and faith point people back to God Fireflies don’t strain to shine; they glow because it’s what they were created to do You were made to shine in the same way—naturally and boldly Don’t let the world’s darkness convince you to dim your light

I had some HUGE takeaways in June. The good news? Both of these tips are easy to implement. The two areas where I gained the most insights were: Supporting someone going through a tough time. The peace that I feel when I continue to walk in forgiveness. How do you support someone who is going through a difficult time? Ask two simple questions: How are you doing right now? How are you doing with that news you heard today? Try to keep it simple and let them know that you can do specific things for them. So instead of saying, "Call me if you need me," say instead, "Can I drive you to your appointment on Thursday?" Walking in forgiveness. Doesn't it seem like almost every day, you can get offended and angry? One of my podcast guests told me how she moved through forgiveness after her daughter was diagnosed with an illness. She told me she'd go outside to the woods and scream. I thought that seemed like a good idea, but going out to the woods and screaming didn't resonate with me. What resonated with me was going to an exercise class and lifting weights. The loud environment allowed me to forgive someone who hurt me without worrying about being heard. I would say, "I forgive [name] and release you to the Holy Spirit." I realized that making my forgiveness more physical didn't mean I went after someone and smacked them upside the head (as fun as that sounds! ). Instead, the movement helped release stress from my body. By the end of one of my "forgiveness" workouts, I felt lighter and calmer. ______ Body Deli Why I love the Phoenix Lift Oil from Body Deli: Botanical Powerhouses for Deep Nourishment In addition to its scientifically advanced components, Phoenix Lift Face & Neck Oil features a curated blend of nutrient-dense, natural oils: Sea Buckthorn Oil: Rich in omega fatty acids and antioxidants, it promotes skin regeneration and combats free radical damage. Friends of the Rosary,Today, July 3, is the Feast of St. Thomas, the Apostle.Thomas, who at first did not believe, became one of the first witnesses to the faith by expressing the fervor of his regained confidence in God, seeing the Man Christ and acknowledging His divinity: "My Lord and my God.""Because you have seen Me, Thomas, you have believed?" said the Lord.Doubting Thomas' weakness of faith reveals how God permits our faults for the sake of our soul's progress, for no mortal man can see divinity. The Lord permitted the apostle to doubt after the resurrection, but He did not abandon him in doubt. It is known that St. Thomas preached the Gospel in Asia beyond the frontiers of the Roman Empire, probably in Persia and possibly as far as India.Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! Four months after her son was born in 1999, Heather Bradley and her husband experienced a tragedy no parent should have to endure. Her son was diagnosed with a rare heart defect, and after several attempts to stabilize him, he passed away in his parents' arms. From the initial hospitalization to Brandon's passing, Heather felt the Holy Spirit's presence almost tangibly comforting her and guiding her. The Bradley family navigated grief and PTSD in the aftermath. Yet through the pain, suffering and questions, the Lord's overwhelming goodness put the entirety of Heather's life--including this tragedy--into an eternal perspective. Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. Living in a coastal town, Valerie loved warm weather, wildlife photography, and being in the water. Above all, she loved watching the sunrise over the ocean. Every morning, she woke up before dawn to catch a view of the water. Val estimated that despite cloudy weather or travel, she still managed to see more than 300 waterfront sunrises each year. She never tired of watching them. In her eyes, the sunrise held a glory she didn’t want to miss. In Exodus, we read about Moses’ radiant face, literally reflecting his glorious encounter with the Lord (Exodus 34). Paul said that since Jesus came, there is an even more glorious ministry than what Moses experienced (2 Corinthians 3:7). It is the ministry of the Spirit, which brings righteousness (v. 9). God’s plan of salvation has permanent glory, surpassing anything that came before (v. 10), and we get to participate in it. Paul said, “We all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory” (v. 18). That ever-increasing glory is not dependent on how well we perform, but on the Holy Spirit. We, like the clouds at sunrise, just reflect a little more and a little better each day the glorious work that He is doing.
This week Jon takes a look at the idea of what it means to have the faith of a child, talks about the fact there are no outcasts when it comes to Jesus, and that Christ followers can be guilty of hindering others from seeing Jesus clearly. Hope this challenges you and encourages you as well. As always if you wish to discuss this topic further, or discuss having Jon speak at one of your events, reach out at jon@christianoutdoors.org
In Episode 7 we journey with Julian of Norwich into the mystery of Christ's joy in His Passion. Rather than sorrow alone, Julian sees the Redeemer rejoicing in His self-offering, delighting to give Himself for the salvation of souls. She is shown the threefold joy of the Trinity, where the Father is pleased, the Son is crowned, and the Holy Spirit is satisfied. Then Julian is led through the wound in Christ's side into the depths of His Heart—a resting place “large enough for all mankind.” Drawing on Scripture, the Catechism, and the mystical tradition of the Church, this episode opens the mystery of divine charity that transforms suffering into eternal joy, and invites the soul into the inexhaustible mercy of the pierced Heart of Jesus. We then move into Psalms 115 and 116, where we're reminded to trust in the Lord and to praise Him for his steadfast love and deliverance. The reading finishes in Jude chapter 1, with a call to be vigilant in our faith, build each other up, and to receive more mercy, peace, and love in Christ than we ever thought possible. As always, Hunter leads us in thoughtful reflection, heartfelt prayers, and encouragement to live out God's love daily. Whether you're seeking deeper understanding or simply some peace in your day, you're invited to warm your heart by the fire of God's love and be reminded of the blessings found in His word. So grab a cup of coffee, settle in, and let's journey together through the Scriptures. TODAY'S DEVOTION: You're going to need more—more mercy, more peace, and more love than you think. That's what the book of Jude reminds us today. In this world that is often filled with scoffers, grumblers, liars, and all sorts of trouble, Jude calls out to us: "May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love." And the good news is—He does. God offers us what we lack. He is our true and ultimate source of peace, love, and mercy. It's easy to look at the world and become discouraged, to feel overwhelmed by the lies we've been told or the ones we've learned to hold onto ourselves. But God gives us more in Christ. There is an invitation here—not to muster up these things on our own, but to receive from Him: mercy for our failings, peace in the midst of trouble, and love that has been poured out on all humanity—including you. Because of Him, you can pray in the power of His Spirit today. Because of Him, you already have eternal life now, and there will come a day when you stand with Him in glory. In Christ, we find the "more" that our hearts deeply need. Apart from Him, we have nothing, but with Him, we have everything—enough for today and enough for the days to come. So let us receive what He offers. Let us rest in the mercy we absolutely need. Let us abide in the peace that only He can give. Let us live in the love that has been lavished upon us. Live today in the "more" of Christ, and let your life be to the glory of God—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. That's the prayer I have for my own soul. That's the prayer I have for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's the prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Loving God, you have knit us together in the body of Christ from every nation and tongue. Make us a vessel of your peace today. Make us a vessel of your peace today. Where hatred stirs, let us bear your love. Where wounds run deep, let us be agents of pardon. Where fear grips hearts, may we speak faith. Where sorrow hangs heavy, may we carry joy. Teach us to listen more than we speak. To understand before we are understood. To love. For in surrender, we find abundance. In mercy, we discover grace. And in dying, we rise into your life. In the name of Jesus. Amen. And now, as our Lord has taught us, we are bold to pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
