Romans 8:16 — When Satan tempts the Christian to despair or tells them that they are not a child of God, they can turn to the word of God and find an abundance of assurance based upon the promises of the Scriptures. In this sermon on Roman 8:16 titled “The Witness of the Spirit,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones does not discount the amount of assurance found by going to the Bible. He argues, however, that there is an even greater level of assurance that the believer can have. In Romans 8:16, the apostle Paul mentions the witness of the Spirit. This witness of the Spirit, says Dr. Lloyd-Jones, is the same as the baptism of the Spirit, or the sealing of the Spirit, found elsewhere in Scripture. While every Christian has the Spirit of adoption and is a child of God, not all have the witness of the Spirit. This is a second blessing that comes upon a believer for the purpose of assurance. Moreover, it illumines the believer's understanding with respect to salvation. In essence, it is a special way the love of God is poured out on a particular believer in the quietness of the heart. Listen as Dr. Lloyd-Jones gives an extended teaching on the witness of the Spirit and breaks down the Scriptures in order to gain insight and understanding to this special work of the Holy Spirit.

John 16:7–15. Jesus promised that it was to our advantage that He would go so that the Holy Spirit could come and dwell within us. This Sunday, Pastor Josh Kelsey reminds us that the Helper is not distant but deeply present. The same Spirit who revealed Christ to the world now reveals Christ in us. Convicting, guiding, and glorifying the Son through our lives. He doesn't simply inform us of truth; He forms us into it. When we feel weak, uncertain, or wordless, the Spirit intercedes, translating our groans into the language of heaven. The Spirit is not optional; He is essential. He is the presence of Jesus with us, and the power of Jesus in us.
In this final episode of the "Acts" series, Pastor Joel's teaching reveals that, in the book of Acts, when the apostles emphasized the same things Jesus did —namely, the Holy Spirit and the Name of Jesus —it resulted in signs and wonders, which is infallible proof that Jesus is alive.
#10MinuteswithJesus ** Put yourself in the presence of God. Try talking to Him. ** 10 minutes are 10 minutes. Even if you can get distracted, reach the end. ** Be constant. The Holy Spirit acts "on low heat" and requires perseverance. 10-Minute audio to help you pray. Daily sparks to ignite prayer: a passage from the gospel, an idea, an anecdote and a priest who speaks with you and the Lord, inviting you to share your intimacy with God. Find your moment, consider you are in His presence and click play.
Auxiliary Bishop Adam Parker of Baltimore has confirmed more than 10,000 young people—and he wants his brother bishops to know what a gift the sacrament can be. In this episode of “Preach,” he shares his confirmation homily built around Jesus' question to Peter: “Who do you say that I am?” Then host Ricardo da Silva, S.J., asks him for a fervorino: If he were standing before his brother bishops, what brief, heartfelt exhortation would he offer about preaching for confirmation? His answer: Remember that confirmation is a unique opportunity. Many in the pews aren't regularly connected to the church—so preach the invitation to relationship with Jesus Christ. Make the gifts of the Holy Spirit practical and real, drawing from your own life. And “make our own humanity as bishops visible to the candidates.” Let them see you're not just presiding ceremonially, but walking with them as their shepherd. Today, I'm joined by Brigid, a Functional Women's Health Coach and Mentor who helps moms rediscover that their bodies are not broken — that they're not falling short in motherhood — and that life can actually be full, joyful, and fun, even in the chaos. Brigid guides women to see the truth that their bodies are beautifully made by God, that their vocation is holy work, and that the birth of their children is just the beginning of the transformation God is calling them into. She's a wife, mother of five, and homesteader in Pennsylvania who loves time outdoors with her kids, diving into conspiracy theories, cooking and baking from scratch, and listening to all the podcasts she can. In today's episode, we're diving into a tender but powerful topic — birth trauma. We'll talk about what actually makes something traumatic, how it affects our bodies, our connection with God, and how real healing begins when we invite the Holy Spirit into those memories and emotions. Friends of the Rosary,Today in the Gospel (Luke 13:10-17), we see Our Lord performing a miracle on a woman who was crippled by a dark spirit for eighteen years. Christ sets her free from her infirmity."This daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound for eighteen years now, ought she not to have been set free on the sabbath day from this bondage?”"When he said this, all his adversaries were humiliated, and the whole crowd rejoiced at all the splendid deeds done by him."Christ fulfills his promise by adopting us and giving us the right to be children of God.With him we suffer, and with Him we will be glorified, as he bears our burdens.Ave Maria!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! In today's episode, Nancy speaks candidly from the NMM Ministry House in Texas, inviting us into a timely and sobering reflection on guarding our hearts. In a world filled with broken trust, emotional entanglements, and creature-dependency, Nancy challenges us to return to the custody of the Holy Spirit and the finished work of the cross. She exposes the false expectations we place on others to be our safe place and instead calls us to accept God's unchanging value over our lives. This is not self-love—it's alignment with divine love. If you've been living in cycles of pain, relational confusion, or emotional exhaustion, this episode is your reminder: the heart you're called to guard isn't just sentimental—it's where the kingdom of God wants to flow. This episode centers on the theme of spiritual gifts and purpose within the Christian faith. Jim Davis emphasizes that every individual is uniquely designed by God and equipped with spiritual gifts to serve others, not to earn more love but as an expression of love for God. Drawing from scriptures such as Ephesians 2:10, Psalm 139, and 1 Corinthians 12, he encourages listeners to discover and use their gifts for the benefit of the church community, sharing personal stories and practical advice for healing from church hurt and finding joy through service. The episode concludes with an invitation to take a spiritual gifts assessment and a reminder that true fulfillment comes from serving with the gifts God has given.
After administering the rite of Baptism to dozens of baptism candidates, Bishop Paul preached the third installment in the sermon series, Jesus' Bride—the call of the church to holiness. We, the people of God, are to be holy like him, for the sake of and for the salvation of an unholy world. But we must remember that this is only possible through the Lord's work of washing us and causing us to walk in his ways. Weekly we remember our baptism and the Holy Spirit's enabling grace at the font—intentionally found at the church's entrance—and realize we are that holy Church he sends into the world.

The apostles of Jesus Christ show us what it looks like to suffer with joy for faithfulness to Christ. The work of the Holy Spirit in their lives shows us how we come to love Christ so deeply that we are honored to be dishonored with him. These last days call for faithfulness to Christ, and the Holy Spirit provides the strength. Grace Community Church exists to build spiritually healthy people for ministry in the world. One of the ways that we pursue this mission is by gathering each Sunday for corporate worship, prayer, and biblical teaching. The corporate nature of this gathering is both edifying to the believer and a witness of God's grace to the world. Sermon speaker is Scott Patty unless otherwise noted.

In this episode, Christian Ann Larson—therapist, pastor, and co-leader of North City Church—teaches on what it means to live with a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit. She explores how our daily habits, routines, and relationships reveal what (or who) we truly depend on—and invites us to reimagine dependence as something holy, not weak.Through stories, humor, and reflection on John 14, Christian Ann helps us see that dependence on the Spirit brings peace of mind and heart, not restriction. Drawing from her experience as both a therapist and follower of Jesus, she contrasts cultural ideals of independence with the interdependence modeled by the Trinity itself—Father, Son, and Spirit. You'll also hear a few funny moments (including one involving getting lost in northern Wisconsin without Google Maps!) and guided reflection questions to help you pause and notice the Spirit's presence in your own life.Key Themes:Rethinking dependence vs. independenceJesus' promise of the Holy Spirit (John 14)The Spirit as Advocate, Comforter, and GuidePractical ways to create space for the Spirit's voiceInterdependence as the design of God's peoplePeace as a sign of being led by the SpiritReflection Questions:What or who do you find yourself depending on most these days? How might those dependencies be shaping your sense of peace?Where can you create space to listen to the Spirit this week?Scripture Reference: John 14:15–27 (NLT)
God's power was not just available and active in the days of the early church, it is available and active today. We need to be available and obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit and as we are, we will be instruments of His power through us. By Dave Bartlett

7 True Stories of Purgatory: The Purifying Fire (Ep. 486)Following last week's 7 Hallowed Stories of Holiness, this week we take you on a journey into other incredible, true stories of mercy. Purgatory is not God's punishment; it is His love, finishing its work.In this powerful special, we explore seven true stories that reveal the fire of mercy that purifies the soul for heaven. From the burned handprints preserved in Rome's Purgatory Museum to St. Catherine of Genoa's vision of love's refining flame; from St. Margaret Mary's suffering for a soul in need to Padre Pio's encounter with the “ghost” of a workman who waited for the Mass that would set him free—each story unveils a facet of God's justice made tender. (MANUSCRIPT)These are not ghost stories—they're grace stories.Listen as heaven's veil lifts and the saints remind us: love continues, prayer matters, and mercy never ends. Because the flames we fear are the same that free
This is Part 5 of our series: The Church the Holy Spirit Built. I’m continually amazed by the transformation of Peter. Who told him he could heal a crippled man? What if it hadn’t worked? What if he became a public joke?Wouldn’t it have been safer—and more practical—to just start a GoFundMe for the guy? And yet, there he is. Bold. Unfiltered. Taking a wild, Spirit-led risk.Honestly, don’t you imagine Peter was just as shocked as everyone else?I can almost see John turning to him, eyebrows raised, thinking:“What just happened?! Peter… what are you doing?” So why now? Why this place? Why this man? Because Jesus was scripting something far bigger. The physical healing was incredible, yes—but it was just the setup. The real miracle—the one that changes everything—was still to come. And with everyone’s attention locked in, Jesus speaks... through Peter.

James 4:1–12 teaches that conflict is unavoidable in a sinful world, but believers can choose how to respond: in a worldly way or a godly way. Worldly conflict starts with selfish desires, and it puts self over God. It causes division, making Satan glad and Jesus grieve. Godly conflict, however, comes through submission to God. It resists the devil and invites the Holy Spirit to guide our emotions.
In this powerful opening message of the series A Clear and Present Danger, Pastor Jay Tyler sounds the spiritual alarm about one of the greatest threats facing believers today, deception. From the Garden of Eden to our modern culture, Satan's oldest strategy has always been to twist God's truth with subtle lies. Pastor Jay exposes how deception often looks like truth, spreads through spiritual neglect, and can only be resisted through vigilance in God's Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. This message calls every believer to wake up, stay grounded, and stand firm in the truth that sets us free.

A parent will do anything to protect their child. Warnings come from love, not fear, because love sees danger and wants to keep others safe. In the same way, Jude gives a loving but serious warning to the church to be alert to the dangers that surround us. In Jude 12-23, he describes “these people” who slip into the church to cause division and spread deception. If the enemy cannot stop the church from the outside, he will try to weaken it from within. We must guard what God is doing in our homes, our children's lives, and His church. Jude reminds believers that God will deal with all wickedness in His time. Our responsibility is to stay faithful, to keep growing in our faith, to pray for the power of the Holy Spirit, and to have mercy on those who have drifted. We have to be urgent about reaching people who do not know God, snatching them from the flames but using caution. Be careful not to be pulled into what you are trying to rescue someone from. Know your surroundings, know what you are stepping into, and ask God to reveal who these people are in your life. This week on Table Talk. Pastors Kyle and Bobbi discuss the middle man of the Holy Trinity, Jesus. The pastors discuss the significance of Jesus making his dwelling among us contrasting it with the Old Testament God who was Holy Other. They explore the 30 undocumented years of Jesus's life, where he lived a normal life in obscurity before his ministry. The Pastors conclude that Jesus is "God's self-portrait", showing humanity the attributes of the Father.

Anthony Gammage preaches on 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 on Sunday, October 26th, 2025. Flee Sexual Immorality12 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything. 13 “Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food”—and God will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined[a] to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. 18 Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin[b] a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

About Seventh-day Adventists Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons–the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit–make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. This single sermon by Pastor Frank Bennett is about moving from a life of simply knowing about God to one where we truly know and experience Him personally through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Together, we will unpack what it means to live a Spirit-filled life.
Baptism represents a powerful symbol of an inward change through outward expression, demonstrating a complete U-turn from self-dependence to God-dependence. It involves both confession of our inability to earn salvation and profession of our faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus was baptized not because He needed salvation, but to set an example, illustrate the gospel message, and begin His public ministry. Biblical baptism should be done by full immersion in water after someone has personally trusted Jesus as Savior. Like a wedding ring declares marriage status, baptism publicly declares our relationship with Christ to the world.
Education and status are pursued by people every day. But these things are meaningless when it comes to revelation—what the Holy Spirit reveals to believers about God. The world seeks its own kind of wisdom, but it's only through the Spirit that we can truly be wise—for salvation, to grow in our Christian lives, or to walk in spiritual victory. Christianity is hopeless without the Holy Spirit!
Woodland Campus | Pastor Luke shares what it looks like to battle complacency by the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
In this vital message titled "The Cost of Community," Pastor Peter clarifies that while admission into Jesus's body is secured solely by His finished work on the cross (Ephesians 2:15), the ongoing strength and unity of "God's people" (1 Peter 2:10) require believers to move beyond receiving and focus on "giving all for Jesus". He cautions against treating community as a goal or a product based on music, style, or age, encouraging listeners to instead "go to the Bible" and make Jesus the focus. Pastor Peter explains that the true cost necessary to overcome internal division and realize common unity is Pentecost, or an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Drawing on biblical examples like Ruth, who was brought into God's family (Ruth 1:16) and found community in the harvest field, and the early church (Acts 2:42-47), he asserts that the Holy Spirit is the only way to wash away the offense and sin that separates believers, enabling them to "love one another" and fulfill the mission field (Mark 16:15).
