Send us a textII Corinthians 3 The apostle Paul explains he does not require letters of recommendation because the Corinthians themselves stand as proof of his ministry. Their transformed lives are letters from Christ, inscribed not on stone but on human hearts by the Spirit. He then contrasts the old covenant, which brought death through the law, with the new covenant, which imparts life through the Spirit. The law had glory, yet the ministry of the Spirit possesses even greater glory. Paul clarifies that through Christ, the veil that obscures people's understanding of God is lifted. Where the Spirit of the Lord is present, there is freedom in Jesus Christ. Paul encourages the Corinthians to embrace this freedom and transformation that comes through the Spirit rather than holding on to the old way of the law. For centuries, Jews could access God only through the laws of the Old Testament. This “ministry of death,” with its fading glory, was inscribed on stone and served as an unattainable goal for all who sought justification through it. The arrival of Christ and the new covenant has brought grace and hope to all who hear and believe. We now engage in a “ministry of the Spirit,” a “ministry of righteousness,” that will never fade away. This law of liberty is not written on stone but in our hearts, motivating us to live holy lives with grateful and joyful spirits. Our mission as workers for Christ is now to help the gospel be inscribed upon the hearts of others. Glorious Lord, thank You for writing Your truth on our hearts and giving us new life through Your Spirit. Help us to rely not on our own strength but on the freedom found in Christ. Remove any veil that blinds us from fully knowing You, and transform us daily into the image of Jesus. May our lives be living letters that reflect Your love, grace, and glory to those around us. Teach us to walk in the power of the Spirit, embracing the freedom You have given us. Let us shine with ever-increasing glory as we grow closer to You.Thought Questions: -       Paul loved those he taught, calling them letters of Christ written in his heart. Have you ever converted someone? How is that relationship special? -       How does contrasting the old covenant with the new covenant increase your gratitude for Jesus Christ? How can you show thankfulness? -       Are you being transformed into the image of Jesus? How does the Holy Spirit help you change your life to be more like the Savior?

Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible, where every day is a fresh journey through the pages of Scripture. It's August 5th and we're on Day 218 of our adventure together. I'm your host, Hunter—your brother, Bible reading coach, and fellow traveler as we gather from places near and far to warm our hearts by the fires of God's love. In today's episode, we dive into 2 Kings 23, 2 Chronicles 35, and John 7. We'll witness King Josiah's groundbreaking reforms to restore true worship in Israel, the powerful celebration of Passover that hadn't been seen since the time of the judges, and the challenges Josiah faced against powerful nations. Then, we'll turn to the gospel of John and find Jesus at the Festival of Shelters, teaching boldly about living water—the Spirit that he promises to pour out on all who believe. Along the way, Hunter draws out the deeper meaning behind the festival's water-pouring ceremony, connecting it to Jesus' declaration that he is the true source of life and hope. We'll wrap up with heartfelt prayers for God's guidance, mercy, and joy as we step into a new day. So grab your Bible, settle in, and join us as we encounter God's living Word together—and remember, you are loved. No doubt about it. TODAY'S DEVOTION: He is the Source of Living Water. Picture the scene at the festival of shelters—each day, the priest carries water from the pool of Siloam, pours it out upon the altar, and it runs down the temple steps. For seven days, this ritual is repeated, and on the final day, the expectation and hope of the people reach their pinnacle. This act was more than tradition; it was a symbol, a living picture of the Messiah pouring out the Spirit upon God's people, a promise rooted in the Scriptures—“I will pour out water to quench your thirst and irrigate your parched fields… I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants and my blessing on your children” (Isaiah 44:3). And in this very moment, Jesus stands and shouts to the crowds: “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me. Anyone who believes in me may come and drink.” It's as if Jesus steps into the very heart of the ceremony and says, All of this points to me. I am the One you've been waiting for. I am the Source of the Living Water the world so desperately needs. The promise, the hope, and the life the ritual anticipated is found in Him—and received by coming to Him, trusting Him, believing. That's the invitation Christ makes to you and to me: to come to the Source, to drink freely, to allow His Spirit—like streams of living water—to flow within us and out of us into a thirsty, longing world. No longer do we look for life in ceremonies or traditions—good as they may be—because the true fulfillment is Christ Himself, the One in whom all God's promises find their “yes.” We don't come to Jesus for fame, for recognition, or for any fleeting thing. His brothers sought notoriety, but Jesus came, not to be applauded, but to do what the Father asked—to seek, to save, and to invite us into the overflowing life He shares with the Father and the Spirit. His heart is to give, to pour out, so that we too would be channels of living water, blessing, hope, and renewal to the world. So, today, let's come to Him who is the Source. Let's drink deeply of the life He freely gives. Let's allow the living water to flow through us—transforming us, refreshing us, and reaching out to others. That's the prayer I have for my own soul. That's the prayer I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's the prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Almighty and ever loving God, you have brought us to the light of a new morning. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit that we may walk this day in peace. Guard our steps from temptation. Shield us from the weight of fear and shame, and lead us deeper into the joy of your presence through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. O Christ, light of the nations, shine in every place where shadows dwell. Call the scattered home, heal the wounds of division and gather all people into the communion of your grace. May the knowledge of the Lord cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. Amen. And now, Lord, make my hands ready for mercy. Make my eyes quick to see the hurting, my ears open to the cry of the lonely, and my feet swift to bring good news. Let me seek to bless, not to be noticed, to serve, not to be praised, to forgive, not to hold back. For in your way is life, in your mercy is healing, and in your love is the peace this world cannot give. Amen. And now, as our Lord has taught us. We are bold to pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Romans 5:1-2 — What does it mean to stand in the grace of God? The apostle Paul writes that all who believe are no longer under the power of sin and death, but are now in God's grace. In this sermon on Romans 5:1–2 titled “Standing in Grace,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones expounds on this great declaration. He says that to be in God's grace is to be justified before God. It is to be in the family of God. All whom God saves, He secures and grants perseverance. This is the blessing of justification, peace, and security with God through Christ. And through the Holy Spirit the Christian is sanctified. All of this is a result of the Christian being justified by faith. All believers ought to strive to have a full assurance that they have been redeemed in Christ and are now indwelt by the Holy Spirit. The Christian now boldly approaches God because they are His children and heirs. They do not live in fear of punishment, for they are wholly in Christ Jesus. This sermon on the glories of salvation causes all to ask the question: “do I believe? Have I been transferred out of the kingdom of darkness into the family of God?” To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/603/29

This week, Pastor Ralph Castillo continued our series in the Book of Acts, The Fifth Act, with an exploration of Acts 16 and the diverse group of people God welcomes into His unfolding story. As the Gospel spreads beyond Jerusalem, we meet Timothy, Lydia, a slave girl, and a Roman jailer. Each person came from a vastly different background, displaying the power and reach of God's redemptive work, and that the Holy Spirit guides, frees, and saves all kinds of people who say "yes" to His leading. Whether God is calling us to a consecrated life, to open our hearts to Him, to surrender sin, or to trust Him in difficult circumstances, every “yes” helps close the gap between what we read in Scripture and what we experience in our world today.

Welcome to another episode of Restoring the Soul with Michael John Cusick. Joining Michael is Alan Kraft, who will delve into the spiritually nourishing practice of scripture meditation and its power to let the Holy Spirit speak directly to our hearts. In today's episode, titled "The Intimate God," Alan unravels his spiritual trifecta — stillness, prayer, and scripture — to cultivate a profound connection with the Father. We'll explore how scripture is a gateway to a relational experience with Jesus, offering insights into his nature and deepening our knowledge of His love. We'll also discuss Alan's thought-provoking approach of slowly reading scripture and integrating prayer, inviting reflection, and an open dialogue with Jesus through the pages of the Bible. The concept of "practicing the presence of Jesus" emerges as a transformative method to bring Jesus into the entirety of our experiences, even the difficult emotions, as a path to growth and prayer. We touch on the significance of stillness, as echoed in the Psalms and the book of Genesis, carving out space to gaze within and commune with our Creator, and how this practice informs a genuine personal reality. Finally, we'll touch upon Sabbath, emphasizing it as a treasured time of self-care ordained by God, an invitation to rest in gratitude rather than an obligation.Support the showENGAGE THE RESTORING THE SOUL PODCAST:- Follow us on YouTube - Tweet us at @michaeljcusick and @PodcastRTS- Like us on Facebook- Follow us on Instagram & Twitter- Follow Michael on Twitter- Email us at info@restoringthesoul.com Thanks for listening!

The random turning for Monday comes to us from 2 Samuel 7: 1-17 The Davidic Convenant again!  This is a 3 part mini-series that the Holy Spirit is pointing out again because it talks about God's permanent contract with Israel, and that not only is He NOT DONE with Israel, but He is currently grafting them all back in to their own tree!   Here's the ULTRA EXCITING PART OF THAT....That happens when the "fullness of the Gentiles" happens, which means when all the Gentiles that are going to convert have now converted, or at least the last couple are finishing up!  Do you realize what that means??  That means, that we are the Bride and the Groom is about ready to come back for His bride and take her back to His Father's house to give her the room that He has "gone to prepare a room for" and so that points to rapture BIGTIME!  The more Jews start converting to Christianity, the closer we are to see 444, the Key of David, turn that lock and open the door for rapture that lets those who are found worthy to enter into the Kingdom of Go for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb! We are HARPOZO'd up then 444, the Key of David is used and the door closes shut behind us!! WOWWWWWW!! If you are blessed by today's Bible study, please support my channel by liking, subscribing, commenting, and sharing with your friends and family!  I am not a Pastor, and agree with God's word that women are not supposed to be Pastors.  However, all people are called to share the gospel. It is perfectly acceptable and Biblical for women to lead Bibles studies outside the church as an ancillary addition to the church, and especially if it is a viable avenue for study of the Word on a daily basis, like I'm doing on this show, and paving the way for all of us to be closer to the Lord and become more knowledgeable of the Bible.  If you care to contribute to my work with the Daily Bible study and sharing the Gospel, as part of your tithes and offerings, you can do so through PayPal by sending it to my PayPal address of: ReneHoladay@gmail.com  Thank you for watching and God Bless you all! ;() --------------------- The primary study bible that Rene' uses is the 'Spirit-filled Life Bible, by Jack Hayford, and is available in hard cover or faux leather on Amazon at:  https://amzn.to/434fBnQ You can watch this episode on Youtube at:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v9ekffu7ds Please be sure to LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, COMMENT, and SHARE!

She is also part of a church family she loves and her dear parents passed on to her a love of sunsets, flowers, and the beauty of God's creation.   Cooking has been a passion for much of her life and she's written three cookbooks, which were later combined into one large book. For the past ten years, she enjoyed catering, which kept growing and eventually blossomed into an almost full-time job. A couple years ago, she refurbished a building in Peoria, Illinois, which is now her catering kitchen where they make homemade take and bake meals for people to purchase. Through it all, God has been so good!   Renée says, "I could share just the pretty parts of my life, but I've come to realize that something special can happen when people are real with each other -- when we share the muddy parts of our lives as well as the lovely parts. This can be used to encourage each other on the journey, and most of all, to point to the faithfulness of our amazing Savior, who loves to redeem our mud stories.   My story looks much different than my idealistic hopes for my future as a young woman, but through it all, God has been faithful every single step of the way. He was faithful in teaching me as an immature newlywed struggling through some very difficult relationship situations. He was faithful as I walked, tripped, and floundered with a daughter through some very dark teenage years, deep rebellion, ten months at a residential facility for troubled teens, and a teenage pregnancy. He was oh, so faithful when my difficult marriage of twenty-four years turned more and more destructive and led to an ongoing separation. He was faithful two years later when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent two surgeries and radiation treatments. He has been faithful through ten years of "single" motherhood. He was faithful as He opened doors for me to start a thriving catering business at the perfect time. He was faithful when He allowed me to be a part of starting "Beauty for Ashes," a group for women from my national church who have come from painful marriages. As I look back on my life, I see plainly His footprints all the way through.   These verses have been so meaningful in my life: "...He hath sent me (Jesus) to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound... to comfort all that mourn... to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified." I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”   Ephesians 2:8–10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God‘s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.“   Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.“   Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

In this message, Katy teaches from Exodus 38–39, emphasizing how God's longing to dwell with His people takes shape through the detailed, communal construction of the tabernacle. Rather than arbitrary instructions, every element—especially the bronze altar and basin—reflects God's mercy, justice, and desire for restored relationship. The altar symbolizes forgiveness through substitutionary atonement, while the basin represents cleansing from the lingering effects of sin. Together, they point forward to Jesus, who offers a permanent and personal reconciliation, not just dwelling among His people but within them by the Holy Spirit. The message invites listeners to re-frame obedience and generosity as relational responses to God's faithfulness, embracing forgiveness with joy and living as sacred spaces for God's presence—anticipating the day He dwells fully with His people in a new heaven and earth.

In Ars, France, John Vianney was a parish priest for forty-two years, devoting himself to prayer, mortification, and pastoral works. The saintly pastor endured many trials while performing many miracles. With little sleep and less food, he catechized, preached, provided for the poor, and heard confessions. Up to sixteen hours a day were spent reconciling sinners to God.His ardent prayer was:“Lord, grant me the conversion of my parish; I am willing to suffer whatever you wish, for my entire life!”Souls throughout the Christian world sought his guidance and advice.Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! Transformed By Love // “Love Is” How can we, as a church and as individuals, live in our community in a way that reflects the grace and kindness of Jesus? But What Is the Love of God? Ephesians 3:14-19 (ESV)“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Agape - noun used 18x = benevolence, goodwill, flowing from God's charter. Agapáo - verb used 28x = The proof of love. Love Is + Love Does God is Love What is the Love of God Like? His Love Appears First 1 John 4:19 (ESV)“We love because he first loved us.” His Love Cannot be Earned 1 John 4:9-10 (NLT)“God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” Romans 8:38-39 (ESV)“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” “The gospel is this: We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.” - Timothy Keller His Love is Proven by the Cross Romans 5:6,8 (ESV)“For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly… but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” John 3:16-17 (NIV)“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” His love is revealed by the Holy Spirit Galatians 1:11-12 (ESV)“For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached is not man's gospel. For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 3:14-19 (ESV)“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” “Holy Spirit, Give Me a Revelation of Your Love, I Need It!”

When someone asks what he is doing, Morpheus replies, “He's beginning to believe.”  We can almost see the wheels going round in Peter's head when this moment comes. He's been a failure till now. A denier and a runner. But now he stands up. What gives him the right to speak to the assembly?  Who gave him a platform or authority?  He thinks he can rebuke Jesus. He uses swords when Jesus says put swords away. He spouts curses when he's afraid of associating with Jesus. And he goes fishing when it looks like Jesus's plan isn't working out. Now he stands up?  Shouldn't it be John? At least John didn't cut, curse, or run. But it's Peter who takes charge when the community is waiting for the gift. He recognizes the moment they are in together - the need for perspective and replacement of the traitor. He has no particular right to take a place of leadership himself. He is a traitor too. But he is beginning to believe something. He is beginning to believe the Jesus commissioning; the placement of Peter at the foot of the church (Mt 16:18). The declaration that he is not Simon but Peter. He is beginning to believe in his given name and place. Peter stood up because he began to believe the gospel. Jesus restoration and Jesus placement. Acts 1:16IdentityThe Holy Spirit is the one who Peter sees in the words of the Old Testament. He doesn't yet possess the Holy Spirit or vice versa but he knows him. The Holy Spirit identity is a writer and speaker. He is consistent from the beginning of time. He is always speaking to and through people who know him. Acts 1:17He was one of our number The implications of this statement are profound. Judas the betrayer was not an outsider. He was one of them. He was one that Jesus called to himself after praying all night (Luke 6:12-16). This means that Judas joined Jesus' ministry on purpose - God's purpose. The betrayal was not a mistake nor did God cause it. God knew it and He also knew how it fit in his plans.Acts 1:20In the PsalmsThere seems to be no doubt on the part of the earliest believers and teachers of Christianity that everything in the Scriptures related to Jesus, his life, his death, his earthly ministry and his future ministry. All of everything related to Jesus for them. It was a simple belief that they held and allowed them to look to the past present and future with confidence that since they belonged to him nothing could be beyond explanation and nothing could be out of control. If you need convincing read the Psalms quoted here and see how little they have to do with "systematic theology."  No modern theologian would try to make these connections. They would be run out of their school. We can have a better theology and a better life if we adopt the view of these simple believers. Everything is about Jesus.

770 You Became an Example to All the Believers, A Guided Christian Meditation on 1 Thessalonians 1:7-10 with the Recenter With Christ app The purpose of this podcast is to help you find more peace in  and connect with the true source of peace, Jesus Christ.  Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization. Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing.  If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes.   Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation:   Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate,  deflate. Scripture for Meditation 1 Thessalonians 1:4-6 NET 7 As a result you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. 8 For from you the message of the Lord has echoed forth not just in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place reports of your faith in God have spread, so that we do not need to say anything. 9 For people everywhere report how you welcomed us and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus our deliverer from the coming wrath. RSV 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedo′nia and in Acha′ia. 8 For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedo′nia and Acha′ia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything. 9 For they themselves report concerning us what a welcome we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve a living and true God, 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come. Reflection on Scripture: What does it mean to become an imitator of Jesus Christ? When I was out driving today I saw a sign for a church that said they were a friendly church. Many people point to the acceptance of jesus Christ and claim that he would reach out to all and be friendly. I have heard other Christians resist this notion claiming that Jesus was not nice and that is just us reading our modern sensibilities into scripture and that Jesus holds people accountable and prefers confrontation with the Word to bring people to truth.  Since we are trying to be like Jesus and as Paul says here, to be an imitator of Jesus, it is far from a philosophical point to wonder how Jesus would approach sinners.  Jesus had an amazing ability to make sinners both feel challenged but also loved. I think a characterization that demands we choose between Jesus accepting sinners, and permitting sin is a quite limited perspective that does not align with Jesus' actions in life. He wanted people to depart from activities that would cause them to be less like Him. Things that God calls sins do not become meaningless just because Jesus is willing to forgive us for them.  I think it is a fundamentally important point that as we turn from our sin and try and reject the idolatry of the word, that this is one of the ways this scripture points to us following the example. Equally important is what it says in the verses we covered in the last episode, that we be filled with the Joy of the Holy Spirit. I believe that as we live in that joy it will pour out of our lives and help others to feel loved, but hopefully to aspire to the kind of relationship with God that feeds this joy. This week I was talking with someone who had engaged in something that they saw as a grievous sin. Both he and I agreed that it was a poor choice but due to the way I engaged with him, he felt completely loved but also completely convicted of that sin. He committed to bring it to God and return his heart to the Lord. I think this is an example of the kind of balance we can make between departing from sin but also rejoicing in the spirit. Above all the greatest invitation is for us to place our trust on the Son who was raised to heaven and will deliver us from the wrath to come. Let us ponder how we are doing with our goals to emulate this kind of loving faith  Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. Dr Clark continues the series on the Lord's Supper, Nourish and Sustain. This series explores what the Supper is, why it was instituted, how it has been understood in the history of the church, what Scripture says, how we should understand it, and practice it. The Lord's Supper is one of the two sacraments instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ. A sacrament is a sign and seal of Holy Spirit-given benefits. Where baptism is the sign and seal of initiation into Christ-confessing covenant community, the Lord's Supper is the sign and seal of renewal and personal appropriation of the benefits promised in the covenant of grace. Tragically, since the mid-ninth century at least, holy communion, which is intended to bring Christ's people together, has often been a source of division. Perhaps worse, however, for much of the last one hundred fifty years, the Supper has been much neglected among evangelicals. In this episode, Dr. Clark continues discussing John Calvin's teaching on the Lord's Supper from his Institutes (1559). Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! In today's episode, Heather guides us through day 215 of our journey through the Scriptures on this third day of August. Together, we reflect on the powerful words from Nahum chapters 1-3 and John chapter 5. The episode revisits the story of Nineveh, picking up a century after Jonah, and explores God's justice, mercy, and relentless love. Heather emphasizes that the Scriptures are not ends in themselves, but signposts pointing us to Jesus—the true source of life. As we listen, we're encouraged to open our hearts to God's love, recognize Jesus at work among us, and allow our faith to be strengthened and renewed. The episode closes with thoughtful prayers and a warm invitation to connect further at dailyradiobible.com. Join us as we come together with listeners around the world to encounter God's Word, be reminded of His love, and carry that love into our day. Absolutely! Here are 10 thoughtful discussion questions based on this episode of the Daily Radio Bible: The episode opens by saying that the Scriptures bear witness to Jesus rather than being life in themselves. What does this perspective mean to you, and how might it change the way you read the Bible? Nahum's prophecy against Nineveh comes 100 to 150 years after Jonah's. How does the contrasting message between these two prophets reflect God's justice and mercy? In what ways did Nahum emphasize both God's power and his goodness? How do you see these two aspects of God in your own life? The description of Nineveh's fall is vivid and devastating. Why do you think the Bible includes such detailed imagery when depicting the consequences of turning away from God? Jesus' statement in John 5:39, "You study the Scriptures diligently... yet the Scriptures point to me," is highlighted in the episode. What are the risks of focusing on religious rules without embracing the person of Jesus? The host mentions that some people missed God's love because they were consumed with control, rules, and judgment. What are some modern-day examples of missing God's love in similar ways? How does Jesus' healing at the pool of Bethesda challenge the religious leaders' views on the Sabbath? What message do you think Jesus was trying to convey through this act? The prayers at the end of the episode emphasize being instruments of peace, forgiveness, and love. How can these prayers inspire the way you interact with others today? The episode encourages listeners to recognize God's love already present in their hearts. What practices or habits can help you become more aware of God's love in your everyday life? Reflecting on today's readings and the discussion, how can you move from simply knowing about God to truly experiencing and living in God's love? What is election (predestination)? My church won't baptize me, because they say I'm living in sin. They say if I remarry, it will be adultery! My Bible teacher says Jesus is the Holy Spirit. Is that accurate? I wonder what God thinks of me being an introvert!

Have you ever felt the electrifying power of a moment that changes everything? In this week's compelling sermon, Pastor Jeff dives into the transformative presence of the Holy Spirit, drawing on the dramatic events of Pentecost as described in Acts 2. Just as the power went out during the infamous Super Bowl 47, leaving players idle, Pastor Jeff highlights how the church can gather and worship, yet remain powerless without the Holy Spirit actively at work. He passionately explores how God's presence is personal and fulfilling, empowering believers to be dynamic witnesses of Christ's love and grace in their communities. Speaker: Jeff Schwarzentraub

Romans 8:26–27 (NKJV)Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.Have you ever wondered what the Holy Spirit is praying for you?In Luke 22, Jesus said to Peter, “I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail.”Though Peter would deny Him—failing publicly and painfully—Jesus' prayer was answered. Peter's faith endured. Later, Peter would write about a “faith more precious than gold,” refined through trials. What a comfort to know that the Holy Spirit is praying for us, as well.In this episode, we trace that hope through 1 Peter 1, John 17, and Romans 8. We reflect on the ongoing work of Jesus and the Holy Spirit—how we are prayed for, known, and never left to stand alone.Romans 8:39b reminds us:“Nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”The word "separate" means without. You are never without Him.If you would like to support this podcast with a monthly or one-time donation, thank you!https://www.sherriyoungward.com/supportTo find out about upcoming gatherings and new projects, please join my email list at www.sherriyoungward.com

1025. Did Jesus Send the Spirit to Convict You of Sin?

Overheard inside a church building near you: "The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin." "Sin separates us from God." "Sin will hinder our fellowship with God." What if none of these things are accurate? Would it positively change how you see God in your daily life? What if the blood of Jesus was stronger than sin ... stronger than your fleshly works ... would it bring an indescribable peace that surpasses your understanding? Sometimes it's difficult to get the right answers without asking the right questions. Here is one example: Why would God repeatedly convict you or remind you—as a believer in Christ—of something that He declared He would no longer remember inside of a new and better covenant? This would only result in the same sin consciousness that the Jewish people were delivered from within a sacrificial system that brought a constant reminder of sins. Religious legalists will indirectly declare the work of the cross as insufficient and are forced into the dubious position of trusting in themselves. God's Spirit is there to convict/remind you of His righteousness and bears witness that sins were removed and taken away, once for all. His desire is to cleanse our conscience from dead works to experience an inheritance of eternal redemption ... through a new and living way. --Available on Amazon - "Clash of The Covenants: Escaping Religious Bondage Through the Grace Guarantee" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0713ZSKY7

Friends of the Rosary,Through the parable of the Rich Fool, Christ Jesus in today's Gospel (St. Luke 12:13-21) teaches us to avoid all greed, as “one's life does not consist of possessions.”The passage tells of a wealthy farmer who, upon harvesting a large crop, decided to build bigger barns to store his abundance. He planned to live a life of ease and luxury, but God called him a fool. The key is to store up treasures in heaven and “be rich in what matters to God.”We tend to forget that at any moment we may leave this earth and all that we possess in it after a life of collecting possessions for our earthly life.No one will be excluded from heaven because they lawfully possessed wealth. But it will exclude him if he lets this world's wealth possess him to the exclusion of God.Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New!
