I've been practising yoga at home for the past three months, and today I'm exploring the variety of ways this can support you. During lockdown, I completed a 200 hr yoga teacher training and I teach on my retreats and one to one.   I really enjoy teaching, and have created my unique way to create classes which support inward turning and reflection, while moving the body through poses which allow it to decompress. The after effects of yoga never cease to amaze me! I feel calm and energised, centered and still, strong and balanced. So today I'm exploring how my home practice has become a varied delight to suit how I'm feeling and what I need each day. Between meditation, mantra, pranayama, yin, restorative and vinyasa, there's a lot to choose from, so let's dive in and see how a home practice might support you too!

Aloha Beloveds Thank you so much for tuning in. This is the first question and answer podcast that I have recorded. Let me know what you think of the format, and if you have a question that you would like answered on the podcast, please reach out to me @wildsacredsage (Instagram) or email wildsacredsage@gmail.com, contact me via my website wildsacredcollective.com. The structure of the podcast: Intro Question from Sandra Answer to the questions she asked: How do I know which Chakra needs attention? How long should I spend on each Chakra? Should you work on the Chakras in order for Root to crown? How to set up a daily practice at home. The Meditation/ Self reflection practice for this question is addressing the first question: How do I know which Chakra needs attention? Adapted from Anodea Judith's incredible book Eastern Body, Western Mind, I have recorded a self-reflection that goes through each of the Chakras Root to Crown. Listen to the recording, and journal after you complete this meditation, writing down anything that comes up. You can also journal as you listen, writing down realizations or reflections that come up. If you feel overwhelmed or flooded at any point, pause this meditation and you can always return when your body is feeling safe. There is a lot in this reflection. Take your time. Be gentle with yourself. There is also a lot more to go into and learn about Chakras and how it is a path to healing and awakening. If you have further questions, please ask. I also offer 1:1 coaching and healing. Please let me know if you found this podcast helpful, and what you would like to hear. I welcome questions about Yoga, Embodiment, Tantra and Relationships. If there are particular meditations or visualizations you would like to hear on the podcast, please let me know. The Taoist Jade Egg Practice is one of the most curative and empowering practices on the planet for the female body. Yet so few women ever get to experience what's possible with this practice. It can be so seductive to think that you need to go to Bali, Tulum, or Thailand to explore this practice. It's simply untrue. And buying into that myth can be a huge distraction. And keep you stuck.Don't get me wrong,  Retreats can be awesome. I love travel and can't wait to get out my passport again, but what I found to be true is that women only get sustainable results with this practice when they commit to a consistent home practice. When we can step out of the narrative that sensual practice is a novelty and a diversion and take it on as a form of yoga, we set ourselves up for success.Sure it take effort to carve out time and space in your busy life to cultivate your sensuality. But when you claim your domain, and decide to do so, your life will change from the inside out. The results that are possible with the Jade Egg Practice are deeper and longer lasting than a transformation. It's an unfolding. A remembering of who you are at the core. And the magic happens right in your own backyard.I riff on:the beauty of creating your own space for sensual practicehow were conditioned to give our power away and seek outwards for healinghow the wellness industry perpetuates thishow this derails us and postpones our healingthe lasting “transformation” happens in your own backyardhow it's not about “transformation” it's an unfolding; a remembrance of who you arethe high energetic cost of doing this work abroadthe power of claiming your domain and deciding to make space in your life for this workthe ripple effect of home practicea practice tip for busy moms how home practice cultivates sustainable resultshow home practice builds powerthe power of honoring your sensitivity and having your own spacehow home practice promotes integration with your family and lifemy protocol for a successful home practiceReady to start your home practice? That's what my program Second Spring Queen is all about! Check out my online program Second Spring Queen here.Book your FREE Pleasure Queen Activation Session with me here.Email me here: dianne@shakticore.comOr drop a message here

In 1980, Guo Gu moved to the United States and began studying with Master Sheng Yen (1931-2009). In 1991, Guo Gu was ordained as a monk and became Master Sheng Yen's first personal attendant and assistant. In 1995, he was given permission by the master to teach Chan independently; his experiences were later recognized by other teachers as well. On ritualizing your practice, developing your interior world, and measuring up for joy, with Abbie Galvin, author of 'Home Practice' and founder of The Studio. Abbie Galvin is the owner of The Studio, a NYC based yoga studio, teaching Katonah Yoga. She has been honing this practice for the past 25 years and has a strong student-base from all around the world. Abbie's instruction is informed by her own creative process as a filmmaker and from her exploration of the therapeutic process as a psychoanalyst. She has learned over and over that truly participating in any formal process of self-exploration leads to transformation whether it be physical, psychological or intellectual. Her goal is to engage students of yoga in the dialogue between their conscious and their unconscious selves because it is through that effort that we potentiate ourselves. It is her intention as a teacher to cajole each student in that most rigorous effort to be grounded, to grow upwards, and to participate in the creation of their best self. Back in 2002, when I couldn't make it to a studio, I would play an old cassette tape and practice to that in my bedroom, hotel room, or even outdoors wherever I was. At-home practice has always been part of my yoga experience, but I'm the type of introvert that gets energy and inspiration from being alone. I'm naturally driven, and I'm harder on myself than any teacher has ever been; so when people asked me how to develop an at-home practice, I always struggled to answer until recently when I've compiled my thoughts and observations.   Over the years, I've learned some very specific things from my students that make at-home practice success more probable, and I'll share them all with you on this week's Yoga Talk Show. ------------ Listen & Learn: Why practicing in an old, ragged t-shirt might be hurting your motivation Why the advice to “just do what feels good” is a flawed approach How to setup a home practice room How to keep your practicing going on the road Audio/video classes: do they work? Why social support is key ABOUT THE HOST Lucas Rockwood is a yoga teacher trainer, digital nomad, green food junkie, and serial entrepreneur. With a formal yoga training background in Hot Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Gravity Yoga, and the Yoga Trapeze, Lucas has studied with some of the most well-respected teachers on the planet. His most influential teachers (all of whom he studied with personally) include Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Paul Dallaghan, Alex Medin, Gabriel Cousens MD, and SN Goenka. Lucas founded Absolute Yoga Academy in 2006, one of the top 10 yoga teacher training schools in the world with 2,000 certified teachers (and counting) and courses in Thailand, Holland, United Kingdom, and The Philippines. In search of nutritional products designed specifically for achy yoga students' bodies, Rockwood worked with senior nutritional formulator, Paul Gaylon, and founded, YOGABODY Naturals, in the back of his yoga studio in 2007. The company has gone from strength-to-strength and is now an internationally-renowned nutrition, education, and publishing organization serving 81 countries. In 2013, Lucas founded YOGABODY Fitness, a revolutionary new yoga studio business model that pays teachers a living wage and demystifies yoga by making the mind-body healing benefits of the practice accessible to everyone. A foodie at heart, Lucas was a vegan chef, and owned and operated health food restaurants prior to diving deep into the yoga world. Lucas is also a highly-acclaimed writer, radio show host, TV personality, business consultant, weight loss expert, and health coach. Advanced yoga students come in all shapes and sizes around the world, but the one thing they all share in common is a commitment to self-practice. When Chris in Oklahoma asks about the importance of deep study with one teacher, Kino MacGregor reaches into her own experiences studying for many years with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India. Kino shares with host Zubin Shroff how her travels to India were interspersed with periods of solitary practice, where she began to understand how deeply we can let the work of yoga integrate in terms of our own spiritual practice. She describes how she sees the yoga path as an individual journey, which is at once very intense and very solitary, and that while a teacher’s role can be to help build the roots of yoga, the roots are ours alone. Finally, Kino shares some of her earliest experiences with Guruji, and the support and sincerity she found that allowed her to grow stronger.
