Battling influenza A during the holiday season, I've learned firsthand about the challenges of maintaining commitments in the face of adversity. Sharing my journey back to the microphone, I recount my New York City escapades that took an unexpected turn. Yet, the festive spirit and the excitement of the Bella bonus advent calendar keep me going as I reflect on the nuances of celebrating in sunny Florida with my husband and look forward to the promising future of Bella Talks TV in 2025.James Kennedy from the Bravo series Vanderpump Rules has been at the center of swirling domestic violence controversies, and I don't shy away from dissecting his tumultuous relationships and the serious allegations of abusive behavior. Kristen Doute and others share a complex narrative that questions Bravo's role in these dynamics. This episode peels back the layers to understand why victims might stay silent and whether there are deeper personal struggles at play for James. It's a conversation brimming with heavy questions about accountability in the entertainment world. The podcast wouldn't be complete without a look at reality TV's latest shockwaves. Kristen Doute's quirky pregnancy announcement including rotten pumpkins and gingerbread men, Brittany's substance abuse allegations, and rumors of Dorit's split from PK all make for a whirlwind discussion. From Southern Charm's latest antics to societal issues like the American healthcare system's perceived monopoly and the potential threats posed by drones, we cover it all. In this episode, which is the 2nd in Danny´s Monopoly Game series. Danny reveals the secrets and incredibly long and varied history of the joint cheapest property on the board – the Old Kent Road. He explains where the army tank that was located on the street disappeared to, why the nearby roundabout is still known as the Bricklayer´s Arms and the real reason black cab drivers won´t go south of the river after midnight, as well as revealing an unlikely spot on the Old Kent Road, which gives you fantastic views of the city. KEY TAKEAWAYS In 1415, King Henry V of England, partied with his troops in what is now Curry's. The Old Kent Road was built by the Romans and was called Watling Street by the Anglo-Saxons. The street was once home to what was once the biggest gas holder. There is a weird connection between Old Kent Rd, the cheapest property, and Mayfair, the most expensive on the board. Listen to find out what it is. There is a great cheap market just off Old Kent Road. Danny tells you where. BEST MOMENTS ‘(My sister and I) would snigger at the idea of either of us winning a beauty contest. ´ ‘ (The Old Kent Road) was the very path that Chaucer´s pilgrims took.' ‘The car park of Curry´s affords some of the most spectacular views of the city.' We start with the Monopoly Series, in which we explore how the game came to be, the real-life connection between the cheapest and most expensive properties, the history of each location, how proportionate the values were then and are today, what the hell a "community chest" is and whether free parking really does exist anywhere in London. On this episode we hear from Lucia. She started working in hotels while studying at university and when she graduated, she had the choice to stay in hotels or go down a corporate career. She chose hotels and the plan was to stay one year, 9 years later she was still there. She enjoyed the variety, new challenges, and the people she was working with. After her first GM role she realised that operations was not meant for her future and after a conversation with the asset manager, she found an opportunity in investment. She didn't know if she was going to sink or swim, but after three months she realised she was swimming and has continued to do so for 13 years. Her operational plus investment experience allows to speak both languages and communicate each perspective clearly to bring about collaboration. She and I both agree, to advance in your career you have to express your ambitions and do the work.

Our episode today comes from our most recent panel discussion titled Monopoly! The Real Story Behind America's Most Popular Game. This talk explores the true origins of the board game and how its original creator intended it as a way to learn about Georgism. Most do not know this, including myself before listening to the talk, but the inventor, Lizzie Magie, was a sharp political commentator of her time. Using all sorts of creative methods, including the board game itself, Lizzie was a shrewd political critic of her era. As a progressive during the gilded age, Ms. Magie used her voice to shed light on the struggles of civil rights movements. If you love programs on how companies are started or how things are made, you'll definitely want to check out this episode. Our talk is hosted by our Director of Education, Ibrahima Drame, who is joined by author and journalist, Mary Pilon. In the 90s, there was a huge fraud conspiracy surrounding McDonald's monopoly promotional game. Anyone could play, and anyone had the chance to win a prize, from a free sandwich to a car to a million dollars. The odds of winning were slim… so how was it that several of the winners of this game were all family members living in the same area? Tate Fegley joins Ryan McMaken and Tho Bishop to discuss his recent Mises Wire article, "Private Property and Customer Safety: Starbucks Learns a Hard Lesson". As businesses increasingly interject broader "social values" into their business plans, customers are increasingly forced to make difficult decisions about how to navigate their economic behavior with ideological values. Michael Rectenwald returns to discuss the ESG Index or "woke capitalism" as a selection mechanism or demarcation device to delineate which businesses are onboard with The Great Reset and punish those who are not compliant. It is effectively a Social Credit System for companies, feeding investments toward the compliant while starving dissident firms, competition, and industries. This sets up the possibility for doing to companies what is being done to individuals in Canada right now, de-banking them and freezing their assets, and is totalitarian in nature. This global government combines the worst of both systems (capitalism and communism). We discuss the WEF Young Global Leaders program, the threat posed by the people who don't see COVID1984 for what it is, resistance, and parallel structures. Because the Rectenwald returns to Geopolitics & Empire. Michael Rectenwald is former NYU professor and author of 11 books including Google Archipelago: The Digital Gulag and the Simulation of Freedom. You best get this book and read it because judging by events in Canada, the hunger games have officially commenced and we are now in thick of the Google Archipelago where you can have your bank account frozen for donating money to truckers. Michael, how are you doing? And how are you enjoying the Google Archipelago? Michael Rectenwald: I'm hanging in there very well. It's great to be back. So yeah, I'm looking forward to our talk. Geopolitics & Empire: Yeah. I think you were ill for a while now and you recovered? Michael Rectenwald: Oh, yes. I had COVID and went in twice to the hospital. The first time was for COVID itself, but then really, I left the hospital and then the medications they gave me made me sicker than anything. I was given some anticoagulants that ended up causing me to have intestinal bleeding, which almost killed me. So the second time I went into the hospital, I was under respiratory failure. I couldn't breathe at all. So they had to put me on a ventilator. I was completely unconscious. They put me on a ventilator and everybody that knew me thought this is a 50-50 chance to survive once you're on the ventilator. I was on that for three days, but I didn't know that. I woke up and I was in the ICU and just said, "Well, how long have I been here?" And they said, "Three days." I was like, "What? I had lost them completely." So I was in 12 days in the ICU in a couple more days in the regular hospital bed. And oh boy, I couldn't walk when I got out. I couldn't do anything. I mean, I was so weak. I lost 50 pounds. It was intense. Geopolitics & Empire: Yeah. I was shocked when I saw you posting that on Facebook and Twitter and your social media. I was like I couldn't believe it,

Although raised primarily in the Bronx where he currently resides, Sean Atkinson spent his teen years in Los Angeles during the 1990s. His firsthand account of the strategic process used by some community residents during the riots following the Rodney King verdict sheds light on his commitment to diversifying both the Marketing and Branding industry and the small to medium business community. At six feet, nine inches, it's only natural that everything he does stands head and shoulders above others. Our conversation covers a lot of ground. From the stereotyping of tall Black men as athletes to finding one's own path. From a harrowing encounter with the police at age fourteen to the experience as a mail clerk in a narcotics division. We even talk about privilege--white privilege, tall privilege, American privilege. The entire conversation was a privilege for me and it will be a blessing to you. The President is lying to America as he tries to convince voters that his $3.5 trillion bill will cost "zero" dollars. This, as video surfaces of the Democratic congressman currently serving as the head of the U.S. Budget Committee saying, "We don't have to balance our checkbooks. We are like the banker in monopoly. We create the money. Everyone else plays the game with it." Trish sets the record straight on why the Dems are FLAT OUT WRONG on this one. In this episode, the coaches discuss the need for infrastructure and the details of President Biden's infrastructure plan that he detailed last week. America has the #1 economy in the world, yet ranks just 13th in infrastructure quality. If you've traveled, you've probably seen roads, bridges, public transit systems, railroads, and airports that all need updating. Within the proposal, there is money allocated for updating the country's traditional infrastructure and other infrastructure projects like water systems, electrical grids, supply chains, and more. Listen in as the coaches discuss the details of the plan and how it may impact markets. Before that, we discuss the current market conditions during our skyline. Stocks have broken out to new all-time highs on the S&P 500. Recent underperforming sectors like Tech and DIscretionary have also roared back with strong weekly gains, while Oil, Gold, and Bitcoin have stalled in the short term. Listen in as the coaches discuss the recent news and price action, and how they're approaching it. Lastly, Coach Mark asks Matt and Tim quiz questions regarding the game Monopoly. How many properties are on a monopoly board? What is the probability of landing on a railroad one time as you go around the board? Listen in for a few laughs as we try to answer some of these questions and more. 2:10 Skyline 54:25 Infrastructure 1:52:50 Monopoly Game

Our guest this morning is Manhattan Beach resident and artist, Kathleen Keifer. Having grown up in Chicago, Kathleen fell in love with California when she moved to Malibu in 1996. Primarily a “colorist,” there is a consistent point of view across her contemporary landscapes, pop art, and figurative work. She began painting at a young age and studied art at the University of Notre Dame and the Art Institute of Chicago. Her entrance into the fine art world in 1996 was a sold-out solo show at McLean Gallery in Malibu. Her next ten Malibu exhibitions launched her into the LA art world, with paintings featured in LACMA and MoMA. In her most recent work, she has arrived at a distinctive style of overlapping colors and textures that was described by LA magazine as “fluidly capturing pop culture in a tapestry of layered color.” Kathleen was recently selected by WS Games/Hasbro to create a limited edition, collectible, Monopoly Game focused on California called ”California Dreaming”. The game was released last week and each and every aspect of the game features Kathleen's original art. This morning, we'll learn a bit about Kathleen's work and her Monopoly Game which will make a fantastic holiday gift for all of the California Dreamers! http://kathleenkeifer.com/ =+=+=+=+ To Find Out More about the two show hosts of The South Bay Show read on: Jackie Balestra features a comprehensive selection of things to do, places to go and people to know in the South Bay.to learn more visit http://www.SouthbayByJackie.com To Find Out More about Joe Terry visit https://www.ForeverMemoirs.com What's Happening in the South Bay, South Bay, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, The South Bay Show, Los Angeles, California, Current Events Calendar, Torrance, El Segundo, Palos Verdes, Covid-19, Covid19
