Ivan Coyote is a writer and storyteller. Born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon, they are the author of thirteen books, the creator of four films, six stage shows, and three albums that combine storytelling with music. Coyote's books have won the ReLit Award, been named a Stonewall Honour Book, been longlisted for Canada Reads, and been shortlisted for the Hilary Weston Prize for non-fiction and the Governor General's award for non-fiction twice. In 2017 Ivan was given an honorary Doctor of Laws from Simon Fraser University, and in 2023 they received the first Honorary Doctor of Arts ever bestowed on anyone by Yukon University. They have toured public schools solo around the world for 19 years now, using the power of a personal story to fight bullying and make schools safer for students, staff and parents. In 2024 Ivan will mark 30 years on the road as an international touring storyteller and musician. Coyote's stories grapple with the complex and intensely personal topics of gender identity, family, class, and queer liberation, but always with a generous heart, and a quick wit. Ivan's stories manage to handle both the hilarious and the heartbreaking with reverence and compassion, and remind us all of our own fallible and imperfect humanity, while at the same time inspiring us to change the world. Ivan's 13th book, Care Of, was released in June 2021 by McClelland and Stewart.
In this sermon by Pastor Chris Romig, the focus is on Revelation 6 and the opening of the first of seven seals, introducing the rider on the white horse. Chris explains the significance of the sealed scroll and emphasizes that only Jesus, the Lamb of God, has the authority to begin this end-time unveiling. He explores different interpretations of the rider's identity: some suggest the spread of the gospel or even Jesus himself, but Chris argues these don't fit the context or details. Instead, he suggests the rider is best understood as the Antichrist, a figure who will appear to bring peace but ultimately unleashes chaos, war, and destruction as described by the following horsemen. Drawing from related prophecies in Daniel and 2 Thessalonians, Chris explains the Antichrist's deceptive rise and the importance of spiritual discernment. Chris cautions against guessing which current leader might be the Antichrist, reminding believers that their focus should be on Jesus, not on fear or speculation. He reassures the congregation that Christians, empowered by the Holy Spirit, play a restraining role against evil and many believe they will be taken to be with Christ before the worst comes. The sermon concludes by urging listeners to place their hope not in earthly leaders or “knights on white horses,” but in Jesus Christ the true and victorious rider who alone brings hope, justice, and peace.
I read from fourchée to Fourier transform. In the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the White Horse represents Conquest (usually), the Red Horse represents War, the Black Horse represents Famine, and the Pale Horse represents Death. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_Horsemen_of_the_Apocalypse Wow. I would not fit well in "The 400" but I would want to go to just one party. They list out all the members but it's NOT 400! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Four_Hundred_(Gilded_Age) The Fourier analysis formulas hurt my brain because I never studied those symbols. In this third episode about "Reversed Thunder", Eugene Peterson's work on Revelation, we meet the four famous horses: War, Famine, Pestilence, and the White Horse of Christ, Fathful, True and Righteous. These horses are not equal, nor are they on the same side. Three are evil, one is good. I'll leave it to you to figure out which is which.

“Scripture was written for you, but not to you.” This powerful phrase anchors our exploration of Revelation and helps us faithfully interpret its message in context. In this sermon, we dive deep into one of the most vivid and hope-filled visions in Scripture: the Rider on the White Horse from Revelation 19. We begin by unpacking the importance of genre and historical context—understanding apocalyptic literature and the persecution of early Christians. Then, we walk verse-by-verse through John's vision to uncover what it tells us about Jesus: His justice, His omniscience, His authority, His name, and His ultimate victory.
Revelation chapter 6 is our focus in this lesson with Dr. John G. Mitchell. You are listening to the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast. Here in chapter 6, the Apostle John writes how he watched when the Lamb opened the first seal on the scroll. He then heard one of the four living creatures say "Come". So, At his command, a white horse appears. After a brief overview of what we have studied so far in chapters 1 thru 5, Dr. Mitchell will give us an understanding of the first 3 seals that Jesus opens and the judgments they represent .Dr. Mitchell takes us to Jesus' own words in Mt. 24 which He spoke to his disciples which also speak of the beginnings of the judgments of God.Let's open our Bibles and join Dr. Mitchell in Revelation chapter 6.
Interview with Jason Bontempo, Director & CEO of Gladiator MetalsRecording date: 28th May 2025Gladiator Metals (TSXV:GLAD) is positioning itself as a compelling copper exploration story in Canada's Yukon Territory, with CEO Jason Bontempo targeting significant value creation from the historically productive Whitehorse Copper Project. The company controls a 35-kilometer copper belt located adjacent to Whitehorse city, combining proven geological potential with exceptional infrastructure access that distinguishes it from typical remote mining ventures. The project carries substantial historical precedent, building on Hudbay Mining's successful operations from 1967 to 1982, which extracted 10.5 million tons at 1.5% copper and nearly one gram per ton of gold before closure due to copper price decline. Bontempo acquired the entire copper belt through his relationship with drilling contractors Jim and Rob Coyne of Kluane Drilling, providing Gladiator with unprecedented access to what he describes as the first dedicated technical team and funding the project has received in 40 years.Chief Geologist Marcus Harden's due diligence revealed significant near-surface copper potential, with Bontempo noting "After due diligence, Marcus came back and said, hey I think I see around 15 to 20 million tons at 1.5% copper from the surface." The flagship Cowley Park prospect serves as the primary focus, with recent drilling intercepting impressive high-grade cores ranging from 15 to 30 meters running 2-8% copper.Gladiator maintains a strong financial foundation with C$15 million in cash treasury supporting a comprehensive 30,000-meter drilling program, while trading at a C$40 million market capitalization. The company has established community partnerships, signing a capacity funding agreement with the Kwanlin Dün (KDFN) First Nations in October 2024, with comprehensive partnership agreements expected by year-end.Bontempo targets over 100 million tons at above 1% copper across the belt, with plans to deliver a maiden resource estimate in Q1 2026. The company's strategic position near Whitehorse provides year-round operational capability and cost efficiencies, with drilling costs averaging C$200 per diamond meter—significantly below industry benchmarks for remote locations.View Gladiator Metals' company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/gladiator-metalsSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

In Revelation 19:11-21 we see a picture of the last day. What will happen? Though many parts of the book of Revelation are difficult to interpret, the basic message here is clear: Christ will return and defeat His enemies. Every enemy will be defeated. What should you do then? Endure suffering faithfully if a Christian. Turn to Christ if you are not.

How It All Ends! (White Horse Series) by Dr. Richard Ruhling Amazon.com An increasing number of people are wondering, Are we getting to the biblical end-times? The answer is YES, but most people do not know that Muslims will precipitate it as seen in Christ's warning for Jerusalem. We can expect the war against Israel to escalate with Jerusalem taken as Zechariah 14 shows. Hezbollah has already joined with Hamas. In Hebrew, hamas is translated as violence in Genesis 6:13. God knew what was coming. and the Bible says, "The Lord shall roar from Jerusalem...the heavens and earth shall shake," Joel 3:16. That earthquake will be felt worldwide as it initiates the biblical end-times. God won't do anything without revealing it, Amos 3:7, and the next verse is the "roar" that He wants to reveal. The “roar” is one of four ways the earthquake is encoded in Revelation. The last of seven churches, lukewarm with materialism, ended in an earthquake also encoded as a “knock” circa 63 AD. And the message to that church has 7 parallels to Luke's wedding parable where, when Christ “knocks,” The passage links a Biblical meaning to current events, and if we understand, we can move forward to be part of Christ's kingdom after His knock (earthquake).About the author Richard Ruhling, MD, MPH was board-certified in Internal Medicine and taught Health Science at Loma Linda University. NIH gifted his school $40 million for a study to learn why the community lived about seven years longer than other non-smokers. The study supports the benefits of a vegan or vegetarian diet and many diseases are reversible if we eat wisely. Ruhling's wife died from another MD's prescription for a urinary infection and Ruhling visited US senators with medical literature showing that prescription drugs are a leading cause of illness and death. One senator said, “You are wasting your time—they own us,” speaking of drug company donations to their re-election campaigns. Ruhling was reared a Seventh-day Adventist, but now sees all denominations as stuck in their own history and closed to new truth from the Bible. His latest book, From Lockdown to knockdown The Fall of America & New World Order. It points to Judgment for US in 2023. It shows how judgment fell on Egypt for killing Israelite babies and how the US has aborted 60 million and enslaved most people in substance abuse and negative lifestyles.
You've seen Mara Roldan in the mix at some of the biggest races this year. She was in the breakaway at her first Amstel Gold Race and managed to finish in top 10. She recently completed her first Grand Tour, the Vuelta España Femenina. Despite a few crashes and injuries, Roldan not only made it to the end of the seven-stage event, she helped her teammates throughout. Yet, it wasn't that long ago that the 21-year-old rider, born in Whitehorse, wasn't really that into road racing.Roldan and her family—parents, twin sister and younger sister—spent about 10 years travelling North America in an RV (a Blue Bird Wanderlodge to be exact). At 13, she entered her first mountain biking race. By 15, she was training seriously, even as her family moved around. The young rider was diligent, making sure to get the workouts done. “It was kind of up to me to find places to train, whether that was on rollers in the back of a Walmart parking lot one night or on a super nice trail system the next night,” she says. “We just tried to make it work where we were because we were obviously never in the same place. It was a challenge, but I think also a really fun part about travelling.”In this episode of the Canadian Cycling Magazine Podcast, Roldan gets into her unique route to the WorldTour, the role of the development team Tag Cycling on her career, as well as the time Alison Jackson likely saved the young rider's life.Archive: Another Canadian has ridden on Roldan's team. Julia Pagel hostingWhen a Whitehorse resident wrote a letter to the mayor of a little Alaska border town to say she's boycotting the US and that she's "breaking up with America," it captured a feeling many Canadians have right now. But breakups hurt. And this one cuts deep, upending a tradition of connection between these two northern towns. In the small port town of Skagway, about two hours from Whitehorse, locals are feeling the loss of their northern neighbors. Some residents are handing out Canadian flags, while Alaska state representatives push resolutions affirming Canada's sovereignty. CBC's Julia Pagel travels to Skagway to hear from business owners, tourism officials, and local politicians about their attempts to heal this division.Produced by Julia Pagel and Joan Webber / original aired on The Current Storylines is part of the CBC Audio Doc Unit

In Ballad of the White Horse, G.K. Chesterton describes the Virgin Mary: Her face was like an open word When brave men speak and choose, The very colours of her coat Were better than good news. Why the colors of her coat? The medievals took their dyes very seriously. This was before modern chemistry, so you had to try hard if you wanted good colors. Try hard they did; they famously used literal gold, hammered into ultrathin sheets, to make golden highlights. Blue was another tough one. You could do mediocre, half-faded blues with azurite. But if you wanted perfect blue, the color of the heavens on a clear evening, you needed ultramarine. Here is the process for getting ultramarine. First, go to Afghanistan. Keep in mind, you start in England or France or wherever. Afghanistan is four thousand miles away. Your path takes you through tall mountains, burning deserts, and several dozen Muslim countries that are still pissed about the whole Crusades thing. Still alive? After you arrive, climb 7,000 feet in the mountains of Kuran Wa Munjan until you reach the mines of Sar-i-Sang. There, in a freezing desert, the wretched of the earth work themselves to an early grave breaking apart the rocks of Badakhshan to produce a few hundred kilograms per year of blue stone - the only lapis lazuli production in the known world. Buy the stone and retrace your path through the burning deserts and vengeful Muslims until you're back in England or France or wherever. Still alive? That was the easy part. Now you need to go through a chemical extraction process that makes the Philosopher's Stone look like freshman chem lab. "The lengthy process of pulverization, sifting, and washing to produce ultramarine makes the natural pigment … roughly ten times more expensive than the stone it came from." Finally you have ultramarine! How much? I can't find good numbers, but Claude estimates that the ultramarine production of all of medieval Europe was around the order of 30 kg per year - not enough to paint a medium-sized wall. Ultramarine had to be saved for ultra-high-value applications. In practice, the medievals converged on a single use case - painting the Virgin Mary's coat. https://www.astralcodexten.com/p/the-colors-of-her-coat
The Canadian territories have long been aware of the importance of Canada's Arctic sovereignty and security. Now the rest of the country is starting to pay attention, too. Dawna Friesen reports from Whitehorse on how Russia and China's increased Arctic presence, as well as the unreliability of the U.S., has thrust Canada's North into the geopolitical spotlight. She also speaks with Yukon Premier Ranj Pillai about what he wants Ottawa to do. And Dawna drives across the border to Skagway, Alaska, where she speaks with residents about the importance of a strong Canada-U.S. relationship, and hears what Alaskans are afraid of losing with their neighbours in Yukon. On the campaign trail: how the Liberals' pledge to crack down on crime is drawing comparisons to the Conservatives' plan. Plus, how Pierre Poilievre is promising to slash housing development costs, and how he's responding to sliding poll numbers. And why U.S. President Donald Trump is being accused of insider training. On this episode of the Scandalous Podcast, I sit down with the incredible Katerina Kiranos, aka Katacombs. We dive into everything from childhood memories and navigating relationships, to the cultural richness of traveling—especially our adventures in places like London and Greece. She opens up about confronting life's challenges, the strength she's found through the support of loved ones, and the powerful freedom that comes from breaking away from societal expectations—especially the pressure to always be "polite." Throughout our chat, we touch on the feminine experience in music, the evolution of her voice, and the confidence it takes to stay true to yourself in a world that often pushes conformity. She also shares what touring has taught her, the ongoing journey of self-acceptance, and what it means to find empowerment at every stage of life. It's raw, it's real, and of course—it's a little bit Scandalous.Follow @ScandalousOfficial
