Send us a textGary first met Wayne and Marina through artist and previous podcast guest Tony Mighell. We spoke to them over zoom a few weeks ago from their home in Melbourne. Thanks for speaking to us about your artwork and time in the art centres near Alice Springs. Wayne Eager is represented by Australian Galleries - 'Wayne Eager is a gestural artist, absorbed with form, colour and texture. His method is based on the accretion of subsequent layers from which his paintings find their form. He was a founding member of the dynamic artist-run-exhibiting space, Roar Studios, in Fitzroy, Melbourne, the first such venture in Australia. His early works were exhibited there in 1982.Eager has spent much of his career living and working in the remote Central Australian Desert. His experience of the light and unique features of the Northern Territory landscape have been the fundamental foundation to his oeuvre over the last 30 years. In 2021, Eager relocated back to semi-rural life in the Yarra Valley, Victoria. In the same year, the artist was honored by a 30-year survey exhibition, ‘Bitumen and Dirt', which opened at the Charles Darwin University Gallery, Darwin, and then travelled to the Araluen Art Centre in Alice Springs.'Marina Strocchi is also represented by Australian Galleries - 'In 2021 Marina Strocchi returned to her home town Melbourne after a twenty-nine year sojourn in the Northern Territory. Strocchi was closely involved in supporting the development of a number of First Nations artists, initially through establishing the Ikuntji Art Centre in 1992 and then working with the Kintore women to catalyse their painting which led to a vigorous output through Papunya Tula. During these decades she developed her painting responses to the remote landscapes and narratives that are unique to the Central Desert. Strocchi has held over forty solo exhibitions including a Northern Territory touring survey exhibition with an accompanying catalogue. Awarded an ARTS NT Fellowship in 2019 Strocchi had a three month residency in New York City. Now settled in the Yarra Valley Strocchi is responding to memories of that experience and absorbing her new environment.

The webinar provides an overview of an Austroads project which provided expert technical input into the revision of three Australian Standard test methods (AS 2341.4, AS 2341.15 and AS 2341.27) and three national specification documents (AS 2008, AS 2157, AS 1160) during the period between September 2022 and August 2024. It also includes the results of a laboratory study which investigated whether consistency at 25 °C tests (AS 2341.25) could be replaced by rotational viscosity at 25 °C tests (AS 2341.4) in the bituminous emulsion specification (AS 1160).

The bitumen and pitch covering the ark 6724. And daubed it with bitumen and with pitch. That this signifies good mixed with evils and falsities, is evident from the signification of “bitumen,” as being good mixed with evils; and from the signification of “pitch,” as being good mixed with falsities. Bitumen and pitch have these significations from their being of a fiery nature, and in the Word by what is fiery is signified good, and in the opposite sense evil; but as they are sulphurous, and also black, they signify evil and falsity; as in Isaiah: The day of the vengeance of Jehovah; the torrents thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into sulphur, and the land thereof into burning pitch (Isaiah 34:8-9); “pitch” and “sulphur” denote falsities and evils. Hence then it is that by “she daubed it with bitumen and pitch,” is signified good mixed with evils and falsities. [2] As regards the thing itself-that encompassing the truth Divine there was good mixed with evils and falsities, no one can understand this unless he knows how the case is with the reformation of man. When a man is being reformed, he is kept by the Lord as to his internal in good and truth, but as to his external he is let into his evils and falsities, consequently among infernal spirits who are in these evils and falsities. These hover round him, and endeavor by every method to destroy him. But the good and truth which flow in through the internal render him so safe that the infernal spirits cannot do him the least harm; for that which acts inwardly prevails immeasurably over that which acts outwardly; because what is interior, in consequence of being purer, acts upon each and every individual particular of the exterior, and thus disposes the external to its will. But in this case there must be good and truth in the external, wherein the influx from the internal can be fixed; and in this way good can be among evils and falsities, and yet be in safety. Everyone who is being reformed is let into this state, and in this way the evils and falsities in which he is, are removed, and goods and truths are inserted in their place. [3] Unless this secret is known, it cannot possibly be known why around the Divine truth in a man there are goods mixed with evils and falsities, signified by the bitumen and pitch wherewith the little ark was daubed in which the infant was laid. Be it known further that good can be mixed with evils and falsities, but that nevertheless they are not on this account conjoined, for each shuns the other, and by a law of order each separates itself from the other. For good is of heaven, and evil and falsity are of hell; therefore, as heaven and hell are separate, so also each and all things from them separate themselves. The Lord is received according to the state of the finite mind that is receiving Him Heaven and Hell 55. Since all receive the heaven which is around them according to the quality of the heaven which is within them, therefore they receive the Lord in the same manner because the Divine of the Lord makes heaven. Hence, when the Lord manifests Himself in any society, He appears there according to the quality of the good in which the society is, and thus not the same in one society as in another. Not that this dissimilitude is in the Lord, but in those who see from their own good, thus according to it. True Christian Religion 25(3) … the Divine Esse, which is in itself God, is the Same; not the Same simply, but infinitely, that is, the Same from eternity to eternity; the Same every where and the Same with everyone and in everyone; and that all variableness and change are in the recipient, caused by the state of the recipient. Arcana Coelestia 4206 . That such various things of the Lord are represented, is not because various things are in the Lord, but because His Divine is variously received by men. This is like the life in man, which flows in and acts upon the various sensory and m...

Lloyd's List Sponsored content in association with Argus Media Biofuels do not get the media coverage enjoyed by ammonia or hydrogen, but expertise is growing. Bunker suppliers and shipowners are working with fuels specialists to assess the potential as the shipping industry moves towards its 2030 targets. The term biofuels is broad. It covers a range of energy sources such as bioethanol and biodiesel. Biodiesel itself is used interchangeably with FAME (fatty acid methyl ester), a generic chemical term for a bio-based component from renewable sources like soya oil, used cooking oils, and animal fats/tallow. What makes this energy source worth exploring is the fact that biofuels can be fully renewable and almost 100% CO2 neutral. Transportation, storage, and handling are simple as biofuels can be dropped into conventional fuels, and they must therefore be regarded as an attractive contribution to the sustainability discussion. Are biofuels significant for shipping's sustainability or merely a minor element for certain vessels operating in restricted waterways? Can claims about zero harm be justified? What's the difference between a B20 blend and a B30 blend, and should we care? In this podcast, two marine fuels experts from Argus Media, which provides commodity and energy price benchmarks, argue there's a good case is to be made for following the progress of biofuels as a global option. Sammy Six and Catherine Caulfield — respectively deputy editor, Marine Fuels, and business development manager, Marine Fuels, Bitumen, and Base Oils — explore industry demand, biofuels availability and likely cost, regional variation of blends, and Argus' own market-assessed pricing. As Ms Caulfield observes, biofuels are currently available for bunkering while other alternative fuels such as methanol are still under development. Container and cruiseship owners are assessing the benefits because their customers are driving demand for lower-carbon solutions and are willing to pay the higher costs associated with greener solutions. That's biofuels: sustainable, available, and compliant with International Maritime Organization and customer requirements.
