On the latest episode of the podcast, Doug doesn't know enough about P.J. Soles' boobs to answer his cohost's questions, Jamie needs to invent a backstory for Bill Murray's character in order to make sense of most of this, and we both wanted at least one mess hall scene. Hop in your Ninja Turtles Van, ask for 'just a trim' from the military barber, and join us as we really wonder just how much humor has changed over the past 44 years as we discuss, Stripes!Stripes is a 1981 film directed by Ivan Reitman and starring Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, John Candy, Warren Oats, P.J. This week, the boys go treasure hunting with John Huston's 1948 masterpiece “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre”. Dave and Jeff hadn't seen it before, John has seen it several times because he's a fancy film school nerd bro, so we grab a few whiskeys and beers and talk about it! We also catch up on the California tax credit news for film and entertainment, John gives some spoiler-free mini-reviews of “28 Years Later” and “F1”, and we fill you in on all the happenings of 1948 to add context to our feature conversation, which may help you understand why the movie was not a financial hit… at first. De laatste aflevering...voor een zomerbreak. De filmfanaten gaan het hebben over blockbusters, iets dat helemaal past bij de zomermaanden.Voor we daarin duiken hebben we uiteraard wat tops en flops. Als top zagen beiden de film 'The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse' en '28 Years Later'.

Today's episode with Benjamin Charles Watson kicks off with the fascinating cultural shock of auditioning in Canada versus the bustling scene in Los Angeles. Watson opens up about his anxiety during in-person auditions and how embracing self-tapes became his secret weapon for success, including booking major roles like Duster, Designated Survivor, and The Killing. Watson breaks down his audition for Duster, a role he knew was 'for him' viscerally from the first read, despite receiving dummy sides. Discover his unique, methodical approach to character preparation—taking 'Royce' for walks in real life and building a character from birth to present. Plus, we uncover the audacious, career-making move he made to secure 'The LA Complex,' bypassing conventional channels to ensure his talent was seen. Interview with Dave Lewis Organizations believe they have a firm grip on security with SSO and corporate IT policies, but in reality, shadow IT lurks in the background—expanding attack surfaces and exposing sensitive data. Employees bypass security controls for the sake of convenience, while SSO fails to provide the comprehensive security net organizations expect. Talk about the critical weaknesses in traditional SSO implementations, how shadow IT thrives under the radar, and why enterprises continue to experience data breaches despite security investments. Can cover real-world examples of security failures, highlight the role of human behavior in risk, and provide actionable strategies to regain control over enterprise security. I listened to most of a debate between Marcus Hutchins and Daniel Miessler over whether generative AI will be good enough to replace a lot of jobs (Daniel's take), or so bad that it won't take any (Marcus's take). I got frustrated though, because I feel like some foundational assumptions were ignored, and not enough examples were shared or prepared. Assumption #1: Jobs exist because work needs to be done. This is a false assumption. Check out a book called "Bullshit Jobs" to go down this particular rabbit hole. Assumption #2: The primary task of a job is the job. This is rarely the case, unless you work in the service industry. How much of a developer's job is writing code? A lot less than you think. Employees spend a massive amount of time communicating with other employees, via meetings, emails, Slack chats - can AI replace this? Maybe all that communication is wasteful and inefficient? Could be, but for every job AI supposedly replaces, it becomes someone else's job to manage that AI agent. Does all of middle management become expert prompt engineers, or do they also disappear with no employees to manage? Assumption #3: Jobs aren't already being replaced. They are, they're just not terribly visible jobs. That contractor your marketing team was using to build blog/SEO content? He's probably gone. The in-house or contract graphic designer? Probably gone. There's a whole swath of jobs out there, where quality isn't very important, but work needs to be produced, and those jobs are being actively replaced with generative AI. With that said, I don't see any full time jobs that require quality work and a lot of communication with other employees getting replaced. Yet? Ever? That's the question. The Enterprise News In this week's enterprise security news, Not much interesting funding to discuss Securonix acquires ThreatQuotient Cellebrite acquires Corellium (that sounds a lot like a rock bought a stone or a gem or something) Yet another free vulnerability database ChatGPT can now clandestinely record meetings Threat detection resources a VERY expensive Zoom call (for the victim) Should we stop using SOC2s? Should we give up on least privilege? How much did it cost to change HBO to HBO Max, then to Max, then back to HBO Max? Visit https://www.securityweekly.com/esw for all the latest episodes! This week, Amy and Megan dive headfirst into one of the darkest and most disturbing Dead Files episodes yet: Season 10, Episode 1 – “Taken.” Set in Mahwah, New Jersey (which yes, is north of NYC—who knew?!), this case features shadow people, child spirits, and one truly unnerving ghost bear creeping through the house… on tiptoes. The haunting centers on Jen, her husband Gary, and their four kids. What starts as “we think the house might be haunted” quickly escalates into “multiple demonic entities are trying to possess our children.” It's heavy, it's heartbreaking, and somehow we still find time to make jokes about Switzerland, snack breaks, and John Candy.Topics include:

This includes Sony reportedly being interested in acquiring not only HBO Max and the major Warner Bros IP, such as DC, Harry Potter, but also the gaming assets like Mortal Kombat, the Batman games, and much more. Could this finally give Sony its chance to have an even greater influence in so many industries, and does it really make sense for this to happen? Microsoft also made a major announcement that they've once again partnered with AMD to not only continue the current line of things, but also to make future consoles, handhelds, cloud devices, and more. Does this mean we could once again get future consoles? And what does this mean for the idea of a platform-agnostic future? Does this include Xbox backwards compatibility? Plus, Sean has thoughts on Sloclap's Soccer Multiplayer game, Rematch. Nintendo puts out big news concerning Donkey Kong Bananza, but also gets weird news regarding third-party games, Mindseye studio already set to have layoffs, SEGA announces sales of its games accidentally and more! You can also watch this episode in video form on the W2M Network Youtube Channel, please give us a like, comment on the episode, and give the channel a subscribe and follow as well: https://youtube.com/live/dHs5F-j6wbY

In this delightfully eerie second installment in our funeral home adventures, we creak open the doors of two former houses of mourning that are now anything but lifeless. First, we take a spine-tingling stroll through the Bell Mansion in Fort Wayne, Indiana—a towering tribute to Victorian opulence and spectral sightings where children's laughter echo in the halls and a mysterious woman in jeans is said to roam. Then, we cross the border to Dresden, Ontario, where the Thomas L. DeBurger Funeral Home has found new life (and possibly some lingering spirits) as the Blumberg family's residence, featured in the Discovery+ series We Bought A Funeral Home. Expect phantom whispers, flickering lights, and a spectral Lady in Blue. Death may have moved out, but something spooky still lingers in the halls of these buildings.Bell Mansion websiteScare X on YoutubeA Grave Undertaking: Adventures in a Haunted Funeral Home by Richard EstepYou can stream We Bought a Funeral Home on Discovery+, HBO Max, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and HuluYou can also use this link to text us your story :)If you have an experience, story, or anything else you'd like to share with us, you can email us at Opeaghost@gmail.com You can also follow us on Instagram, Join our Facebook group : Ope, A Ghost, or Follow us on YoutubeToodles!

On this week's show we rank our favorite Streaming Services. We also read your emails and take a look at the week's news. News: More than 25% of viewers aren't watching live TV anymore Tubi breaks the 100 million monthly active user mark Netflix to Introduce Live TV Channels in France NCIS: Tony & Ziva Sets September Premiere Date on Paramount+ Other: Panasonic DVD Recorders on ebay Panasonic DMR-EH75VS DVD recorder with 80GB hard drive and HiFi VCR, plus DVD video upconversion at Crutchfield The 10 Best DVD Recorders of 2025 (Reviews) - FindThisBest "It's Official: Streaming Is Now the King of TV The Definitive Streaming Service Ranking We received an email from a listener named Scott that pointed us to an article titled ”The Definitive Streaming Service Ranking” written by Josh Rosenberg and published in Esquire magazine. In the article he ranks the top seven streaming services. We'll go through his picks from seven to one. And then we'll give our rankings. 7 Amazon Prime Video - The main criterion for ranking streaming services is whether they offer at least one new, worthwhile show each month. Prime Video falls short, as it doesn't consistently deliver high-quality new TV content. Instead, it focuses on being a hub for accessing other subscriptions, with shows like Reacher, Fallout, and The Boys feeling like bonuses for Amazon Prime's free shipping rather than a compelling reason to subscribe for streaming alone. 6 Peacock - Peacock is a top choice for reality-TV fans, offering Bravo's full lineup, including Real Housewives, Love Island USA, Below Deck, Top Chef, and Watch What Happens Live. It also hosts NBC's library with classics like The Office, Parks & Recreation, New Girl, Scrubs, and Law & Order, plus Yellowstone due to an exclusive deal. Its appeal lies in its sitcom and reality-TV vault, and it's the streaming home for the Olympics, though that's only every two years. Fans might find it worth a high price, though it's currently much less than $100 a month. 5 Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ - The Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle is perceived as a single streaming service due to its long-standing integration, with Disney enhancing this by adding Hulu and ESPN+ tiles to the Disney+ home screen for seamless access. Each service offers unique strengths: Disney+ excels in Marvel, Star Wars, and children's content; Hulu features FX shows like The Bear and Shōgun, plus ABC's lineup, including Abbott Elementary; and ESPN+ remains a leader in live sports despite growing competition. Their combined appeal keeps them competitive, as they are stronger together than individually. 4 Netflix - Netflix benefits from long-term subscriber relationships, with users browsing its platform like they once did with cable TV. However, its content quality is declining, with more misses than hits. The upcoming conclusion of major shows like Squid Game and Stranger Things in 2025 could further challenge its ability to retain subscribers. 3 Paramount+ - Paramount+ benefits from Taylor Sheridan's popular shows like Yellowstone, Landman, and 1923, and its merger with Showtime has brought quality series such as MobLand and Yellowjackets. However, the streaming service struggles to justify its subscription cost as essential, with its success hinging on the delivery of Sheridan's planned spin-off universe. 2 Apple TV+ - Apple TV+ has significantly improved its content in 2025, with successful shows like Severance season 2, The Studio (Seth Rogen), Your Friends and Neighbors (Jon Hamm), and Stick (Owen Wilson). Previously, subscribing only for specific shows was advisable, but now, due to consistent high-quality releases with A-list talent, keeping the subscription active is recommended. If this trend continues, Apple TV+ will remain a strong competitor in the streaming market. 1 HBO Max - HBO tops the power ranking due to its consistent delivery of high-quality TV shows that justify the subscription cost. With a business model focused on quality since its launch over 50 years ago, HBO has aired acclaimed series like The Pitt, The White Lotus, The Last of Us, The Rehearsal, and Hacks in the first half of 2025. Its extensive library includes some of the greatest shows and movies, such as Goodfellas. While Netflix prioritizes quantity, HBO Max excels in quality.
