Superman (2025) brings audiences a version of Lois Lane and Clark Kent who are clearly very hot for each other. But could they ever actually consummate their relationship?“Putting it delicately…do you…eat?”Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Lois LaneWelcome to Does it Fly? After Dark, the podcast that puts your favorite pop culture concepts to the test…but this time in a slightly more adult setting. That's right, for this episode, we were live in front of an audience (at Mission Brewery in San Diego, California) with our brilliant friends Rosie Knight and Jason Concepcion of I Heart Media's X-Ray Vision podcast. Honestly, we needed all the help we could get to discuss the hot button issue of the moment: how is it possible for Superman and Lois Lane to have sex?Look, anyone who watched Rachel Brosnahan and David Corenswet as Lois and Clark on screen in James Gunn's brilliant Superman movie this year absolutely could feel the heat coming off those characters from the screen. So it's not “how COULD they” so much as it is “seriously, HOW could they?” As we all know, Kryptonians are made of, um, harder stuff than humans, and folks have spent the better part of 80 years quietly asking how Superman and Lois can be intimate without serious injury to the human part of the equation.Sure, there aren't many actual scientific studies involving human to alien sex, so we examined this heat-vision hot topic from all positions…sorry…angles in a raucous, slightly more R-rated format than usual. Check it out, but beware…this episode contains adult themes and strong language!Watch the video version here! https://youtu.be/4E3Zc3uT97MThis episode of Does it Fly is brought to you by Upper Deck. Fleer Brilliants Superman shines the light on Superman and Metropolis in a bright and brilliant new way!Whether it's the 90-card base set on rainbow foil board featuring art by some of the greatest artists in Superman history or highly collectible inserts like “Classic Covers,” “Last Son of Krypton,” “World of Metropolis,” Truth, Justice, and a Batter Tomorrow” or the super rare “Powered by the Sun” cards, Fleer Brilliants Superman is the ultimate tribute to the Man of Steel and his friends, family, and foes.Head to upperdeckstore.com to start your collection, today!FURTHER VIEWINGMuch of what prompted our discussion about Clark Kent and Lois Lane actually getting down to business came from the radiation burns level hot chemistry that co-stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have on screen in James Gunn's Superman (2025). You can now watch this on HBO Max if you need further proof. But also!Let's also refer you back to Richard Lester and Richard Donner's Superman II (1980) in which Clark (Christopher Reeve) temporarily gives up his powers to be with Lois (Margot Kidder) and there's a pretty sensual moment of the two of them in bed together in the Fortress of Solitude. That being said, Clark was a “normal man” there, but the fact that he had to give up his powers in order to get there might be an indication.Mid-1990s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman often featured their Lois (Teri Hatcher) and Clark (Dean Cain) in an ongoing will they/won't they fury of sexual tension (they eventually did). But the specific episode where they learn they can't have children together because of Clark's alien biology was the series finale, season 4, episode 22.And, of course, Smallville was a remarkably horny show and there's uh…several episodes dealing with the matter of Clark (Tom Welling) having sex with human women. But one in particular is season 7, episode 7, “Wrath” in which Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) gains powers so Clark doesn't have to worry about holding back. But the real fun with Smallville is the long and winding and horny journey, so feel free to just wallow in Clark's awkwardness throughout. We also have fun with the question of the “kryptonite condom” raised by Kevin Smith's slacker comedy classic Mallrats.FURTHER READINGDo you want to delve a little deeper into the facts, concepts, and stories Hakeem and Tamara referenced in today's episode? Of course you do! Man of Steel, Woman of KleenexYou think we're the first people to consider this topic? Famed sci-fi and fantasy author Larry Niven first tackled this topic way back in 1969 (nice!). It's available online to read here. And in the Comics…For more than half of Superman's published history, it was more or less implied that he was pretty chaste. Aside from the major romantic players in his life like Lana Lang and Lois Lane, Superman has at various times been intimate with Maxima (a powerful alien who sees Supes as perfect to have kids with), Wonder Woman (during DC's “New 52” era and a fling which is almost certainly no longer canon), and others. But the real progression of his romance with Lois Lane, which eventually leads to the birth of their son, Jon, began in the mid-90s and Jon's birth and its aftermath are depicted in the Convergence: Superman and Lois and Clark limited series by Dan Jurgens and Lee Weeks which are pretty much the starting point for their modern/current relationship.WANT MORE FROM DOES IT FLY?The companion piece to this episode is our much more family-friendly examination of the concept of Superman getting his powers from the yellow sun of Earth. And for something not remotely sexy, we looked at the horrifying reality of the Joker toxin from Batman (1989) here.FOLLOW US!Stay in the loop! There are also not fun things, like Nintendo and Pokémon behind paywalls, HBO and passwords, and The Long Walk. And at the end, a serious discussion about a topic I try to stay away from, but luckily, that's at the end. Enjoy

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesImages and video featuring promotional artwork, including a laser light show, of Marvel's Doctor Doom surfaced last week during Walt Disney Studios' Marketing Expo in Shanghai. While many fans and outlets of varying reputation and credibility were quick to assume and label the imagery as officially tied to Avengers: Doomsday and our first look of Robert Downey Jr in the role, there is nothing in the aforementioned marketing materials that brands the content as Marvel Studios'. Still, the concept art and accompanying light show are exciting as potential teases of what this highly anticipated version of the villain may look and feel like when he finally hits the big screen next December. In a completely unexpected turn of events during a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show, James Gunn dished out more details surrounding his recently announced sequel to Superman, titled Man of Tomorrow, including an intended April 2026 slate to begin filming. The filmmaker shared, “It is a story about Lex Luthor and Superman having to work together to a certain degree against a much, much bigger threat,” he said. “And it's more complicated than that. It's as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie. I relate to the character of Lex, sadly.” On the other end of the DCU, during a red carpet appearance at the Emmys, Matt Reeves shared star Robert Pattinson's reaction to reading the long awaited script, saying “He's Batman, and if he doesn't like it, not good. I was super excited. I thought that he really would [like it] because the things that it does for his character, for Batman and for Bruce, have never been done before in this way. I had a feeling that he would respond in this way, but the fact that he did was incredibly encouraging.” It was a night of celebration for newcomer series at Sunday's 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, as HBO Max's rookie series The Pitt dominated the drama categories while Apple TV+'s The Studio swept comedy honors. Netflix's limited series Adolescence led the field with six trophies, including wins for writer-producer-star Stephen Graham, and HBO/HBO Max topped all networks with nine total Emmys, followed by Apple TV+ with seven. Notable firsts included Tramell Tillman becoming the first Black man to win Supporting Actor in a Drama for Severance, Seth Rogen claiming his first Emmy ever for The Studio, and The Penguin's Cristin Milioti bringing home the only award for the series for her portrayal of Sofia Falcone. The freshly merged Paramount/Skydance is exploring a potential bid to acquire all of Warner Brothers Discovery, according to the Wall Street Journal.Universal and Illumination have officially titled the Super Mario Bros. Movie sequel The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, taking its name from Nintendo's 2007 Wii game and setting an April 3, 2026 release date. The entire voice cast including Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, and Jack Black will return for the follow-up to the record-breaking original that earned $1.36 billion worldwide.Amazon MGM/s Highlander reboot, which was set to go into principal photography this month, will now be pushed into 2026 after Henry Cavill sustained an injury during pre-production.A24 has reportedly won the bidding war for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre film and TV rights, beating out competitors including Jordan Peele and Taylor Sheridan. The horror studio plans to first develop a series from Strange Darling director JT Mollner, producer Roy Lee, and Glen Powell, though Powell will not star in the project.Oscar nominated actress Mary McDonnell has joined the cast of Marvel's upcoming Vision series, the Hollywood Reporter has learned. At this time, her role has not been disclosed.

Welcome back to Wrestling Tonight, your weekly deep dive into the stories shaping the wrestling world across WWE, AEW, NJPW, TNA, ROH, and beyond. Episode 142 may well be one of the most pivotal editions yet. We begin with WrestleMania 43, officially confirmed for Saudi Arabia in 2027. For the first time in its history, WWE's signature event will leave North America in a deal reportedly worth nine figures. Executives are calling it a milestone in global expansion, but to many fans it feels like the monetization of wrestling's most sacred tradition. We will examine what this means for WrestleMania Week, the independent promotions and fan culture it usually powers, and whether AEW is poised to step into the void that WWE has left behind. AEW is carving its own historic moment as All Out makes its debut in Toronto. A sold-out Scotiabank Arena will host one of the most ambitious cards in company history. With a special afternoon start time and a new streaming model through HBO Max, this event could be remembered as the moment AEW transformed from challenger brand to global force. Back in WWE, the long-dormant WrestlePalooza returns as a reimagined flagship event streaming on ESPN's new subscription service. With John Cena colliding with Brock Lesnar one last time, Cody Rhodes defending against Drew McIntyre, AJ Lee stepping back into the ring after more than a decade, and IYO SKY taking on Stephanie Vaquer for the vacant Women's Championship, the lineup promises spectacle. Yet the price point of $29.99 per month raises difficult questions. Can WWE justify charging fans significantly more for leaner cards and heavier advertising, or will WrestlePalooza become a case study in overreach? Meanwhile in AAA, Dominik Mysterio stunned the wrestling world by leaving Las Vegas as the new Mega Champion. It was a controversial finish, emblematic of the uneasy but fascinating partnership between WWE and AAA, and it leaves fans questioning what comes next for both promotions. We also discuss the WWE release of Andrade this weekend. What happened? The week ahead is equally loaded, with Raw, SmackDown, NXT Homecoming, Impact, and AEW September to Remmember all set to deliver matches and moments that could shift the industry once again. All of this and more on Wrestling Tonight, where the stories are not just headlines but signposts of where the business is headed. And as always, support the Tavern by joining us at patreon.com/theturnbuckletavern for exclusive content, bonus shows, and unfiltered conversation you will not find anywhere else. Follow us across social media @TurnbuckleTavern to stay locked in throughout the week. Until next time, kings and queens, stay out of the alley and away from the pork and beans. Good luck, and good speed.

Episode 143: This week, I cover the viewership stats from YouTube's exclusive NFL live global stream, breaking down what the numbers really mean, since many in the media misreported them. I discuss the challenges that the NFL, FOX and ESPN say they have in working with Nielsen, who once again, announced it is changing the way it measures viewership, which is absent of impartiality and transparency. I also detail the latest news and rumors involving WBD, the upcoming TNT Sports app, and the news that the HBO Max platform will lose live sports in the US next year. Also covered are the rumors that Paramount Skydance wants to make a bid for WBD, and I detail why, if a deal were to happen, it would be far more complex than most realize and would not quickly raise ARPU and reduce churn like some suggest.Amazon's quality stream for the season kickoff of Thursday Night Football is discussed, along with DISH price increases, DAZN's new multiview feature for select NFL Game Pass subscribers and news that Walmart+ members can choose between the ad-supported plans of Paramount+ and Peacock and switch every 90 days at no additional cost. Finally, I provide context around the news that Vimeo has agreed to be acquired by Bending Spoons in an all-cash transaction that values Vimeo at approximately $1.38 billion and detail the numbers from Vimeo's balance sheet that most are not looking at, but should be.Podcast produced by Security Halt Media
This week on Grumpy Old Geeks, we're diving headfirst into the digital dumpster fire, starting with follow-up that will make you wonder if the rich are finally getting their comeuppance. It seems Tesla's market share is plummeting, and Elon Musk has been unceremoniously knocked off as the world's wealthiest person. Meanwhile, OpenAI and Microsoft are flirting with new partnership terms, and OpenAI is also reportedly cozying up with Oracle for a cloud computing deal. Are they figuring it all out or just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic? You decide. In the news, it's a feast of AI-induced chaos. Anthropic attempted to settle a copyright lawsuit for $1.5 billion, but a judge rejected it. Apple faces scrutiny for allegedly using pirated books to train AI (because who needs original ideas when you can just steal them?), and everyone from Reddit to Yahoo is rushing to get paid for their data being scraped by AI. Google even admits that the open web is struggling, while pushing ads into AI-generated answers and trying to convince us that DOGE never existed. Meanwhile, millions of YouTube videos have been copied by AI companies—because why create when you can just steal? Not to mention, The Boring Company reportedly stopped tunneling after a "crushing injury" (ironic, huh?), Zuckerberg and Palmer Luckey are teaming up again like a disastrous boy band for military-grade goggles, and Meta whistleblowers are exposing child safety issues. Plus, a hot mic caught Zuck groveling to Trump—the cringe is real. And if that wasn't enough, it turns out AI usage is actually declining at big companies, and programmers using AI are creating more security risks than a screen door on a submarine. It's almost like we saw this coming. For your Media Candy fix, get ready for a dose of existential dread. The MTV Video Music Awards are still happening in 2025, with a median viewer age of 56—because nothing screams "youth culture" like osteoporosis. We'll wonder if Wednesday (aka Charlie Sheen) is still winning and discuss Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Amazon Music is launching AI-powered playlists (because who needs a human DJ when you can have an algorithm that thinks it knows your soul?), and Deezer claims 28% of all new music is AI-generated. Taika Waititi is developing a "potentially disastrous" Fyre Fest musical (we're excited!), Foundation is renewed for season 4, and the HBO Max CEO thinks it's "way underpriced"—bless his heart. Plus, more Highlander reboot news that will probably disappoint, and a look at The Missi & Brooke Show and The Traitors Ireland. Finally, in Apps & Doodads, bad news for AirPods Live Translation in the EU, Evernote and WeTransfer's owner is buying Vimeo, and you need this pettable Poké Ball Tamagotchi-style toy. In The Dark Side with Dave, we'll discuss The Princess Bride, how tariffs are ruining hobbies, and who wants "slop for their ears." This episode shows that some things never change, and most things are just getting worse. One thing you should know about the iPhone launch is that there's... not usually a lot of other tech news around the iPhone launch. So David and Jake start this episode with some more information about the iPhone launch, including some controversial details we missed about the AirPods Pro 3 and the argument in favor of the crossbody strap. After that, with David back on the mic, it's time for a round of AI-focused hot takes with The Verge's Hayden Field. The gang talks ChatGPT, Claude, money, more money, and what counts as a real friend. (And money.) Finally, in the lightning round — yes, once again the LIGHTNING ROUND — the three co-hosts talk about Canon's confusing new camera, the future of Reddit, Claude's spreadsheet-y future, and much more.
