“Healthiness is resilience,” says Chris Peng, the CEO and co-founder of Labfront, drawing on a definition from his dad's lab that challenges traditional views of health and reframes it through adaptability. In this episode, Chris and Dr. Andrew Fix talk about how continuous data from wearable devices like Garmin and Dexcom is reshaping healthcare, and offer insights into individual health patterns. Why rely on single data points when the human body is constantly changing? Chris shares how Labfront is helping researchers and institutions like Harvard and MIT use continuous data to tackle inefficiencies and improve outcomes. With a focus on resilience as the ultimate measure of health, Chris points out how wearable technology empowers individuals to understand their unique responses to stress, sleep, and even alcohol consumption. Health isn't about perfection, but about how well we adapt. Tune in to Chris and Dr. Fix's discussion that offers a fresh, human-centered take on the future of healthcare. Quotes “The current medical system and the way that we practice medicine, built around the constraints that existed in the past… You go into the doctor's office, you take one blood pressure monitor, you maybe do a blood test, you do a couple things. But essentially, it's one data point. And as much as that data point is helpful to bring some context, there is a much more multi-layered depth of context that can exist. However, the current medical system is no fault of their own, but basically the research side has not caught up to start doing and understanding this type of data.” (06:31 | Chris Peng) “Unfortunately, the system, just like everything else, is not a one-size-fits-all. And as I mentioned before, the science and the research is still very, very, very new.” (12:12 | Chris Peng) “If you're trying to define what is a ‘healthy state,' it's really hard to kind of say what health is. We have infinite definitions of disease states. But lack of disease is not healthy per se. And that's something that I think is really important.” (18:12 | Chris Peng) “Healthiness is resilience... The better your ability to adapt to situations, the more healthy you are.” (18:48 | Chris Peng) “Science learns from the process and figures things out. And yes, it can be originally influenced by a lot of corporations and their funding, but over the long term, the truth does win out.” (30:17 | Chris Peng) Links Connect with Chris Peng: https://www.labfront.com/ SideKick Tool: https://bit.ly/4a6CqJS Movemate: Award-Winning Active Standing Board https://shorturl.at/egkA1 Promo Code: DRA15 15% off RAD Roller: http://radroller.refr.cc/drandrewfix Revogreen https://revogreen.co/drandrewfix HYDRAGUN https://bit.ly/43rAtnX Athletic Brewing: 20% off: https://athleticbrewing.rfrl.co/vrmx8 20% off: ANDREWF20 Connect with Physio Room: Website | https://physioroomco.com/ Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/physioroomco/ Facebook | https://www.facebook.com/physioroomco Andrew's Personal Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/drandrewfix/ Andrew's Personal Facebook | https://www.facebook.com/andrew.fix.9/ Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

This week on Black on Black Cinema, the crew returns to announce the next film to be reviewed, "The Deliverance" directed by Lee Daniels. The film follows an Indiana family who discovers strange, demonic occurrences that convince them and their community that the house is a portal to hell. The random topic this week is all about Black health. The crew discuss and article about why kidneys donated by Black Americans are often thrown away and the larger implications as to why. Food desparities, hereditary issues, historical trauma, and much more plant massive obstacles in the way of Black Americans long term health. Can we overcome this, and why the answer to that is important for us and the next generation that we are raising.
Big Food companies are under scrutiny for potentially misleading consumers about the healthiness of their products. This issue is particularly urgent for children, who are increasingly suffering from obesity and related health issues. Globally, over 220 million children aged five to 18 are obese, with South Africa seeing one in five children under 13 affected – twice the global average.
Expert marketer Sandra Nomoto speaks with me about the animal agriculture industry's marketing tactics. Specifically: four ways they've misled the public. These include discrediting research on plant-based diets that showed health benefits, specific marketing campaigns, fear-mongering about vegan diets, and online astroturfing. Sandra Nomoto is an award-winning ethical marketer for cruelty-free businesses. She also offers a suite of services for authors with impact. She previously ran Conscious Public Relations Inc. for a decade, which was the fourth public relations agency in Canada to earn B Corporation® certification. Sandra is the author of two books, including Vegan Marketing Success Stories, the world's first vegan marketing book, honoured by Vegan Choice Awards in 2023. On the side of her desk, she co-hosts VEG Networking Canada, Canada's only vegan networking group, blogs at SandraNomoto.com, and writes for several outlets.

Wisely navigating relationships between men and women is a vital but sometimes difficult conversation we need to be having with one another and our husbands. In this follow-up episode, long-time ministry wife and Ministry Wife Ministry Partner Amy Petersen helps walk us through the specifics of wisely cultivating these relationships. She stresses the importance of open communication regarding boundaries and how personality and baggage play into those boundaries. Amy and Christine also discuss the role of spiritual health and how it is critical to employing wisdom and discernment in this area. SHOW NOTES Create boundaries that both you and your husband are comfortable with. Assessing your spiritual health/maturity is critical for navigating these areas wisely. If you do have concerns regarding a relationship, lay them out before the Lord and ask Him for wisdom and then have a conversation with your husband. QUOTES “There’s just really no set equation for how it should look. I think that it just needs to be customized based on what you’re comfortable with, as long as you’re healthy. That’s the other piece to this. Am I healthy? Is my husband healthy? Is this other person healthy? Healthiness is huge.” -Amy Petersen “I think sometimes in these situations, I might feel some things about somebody, but need to really discern, ‘Is this more of a me issue? Is this something going on with me or is this genuinely something I need to bring to my husband?’ I do think in general, if we have concerns, we should bring it to our husband, but we need to be very clear about what it is that we’re concerned about and what we’re requesting.” -Christine Hoover CONNECT Connect with Amy Facebook // Instagram // Podcast Connect with Christine Facebook // Instagram // Books Visit How to Thrive as a Pastor’s Wife to access Christine's resources for ministry wives like you! Podcast Intro: Men are expected to be strong and mighty. This causes them to keep everything to themselves, not wanting to appear weak. They often keep their emotions to themselves as they believe that they will be used against them once they show their weakness. This prevents them from being happy as they have to pretend what society has imposed on them and hide their feelings. In recent years, society has developed a variety of demands that require a variety of approaches. To meet these demands, men need to adapt. The process of understanding what needs to be done involves growth and development. Angus Nelson is a coach and the founder of Evolve Men Coaching. He is among the nation's leading performance strategists as he helps ambitious men achieve freedom, happiness, and purpose. In this episode, he shares his experience as a coach and his views and insights on the growth, development, and history of men in this lifetime. You're going to be chasing that all the time. It's filling your life with the things that naturally and effervescently give you happiness and joy.” “Until a man knows who he is, he can never become or be anything outside of that.” “All that identity shifting we did in the beginning now brings about these new opportunities. Because you've upgraded yourself, you want to attract your brain and this equilibrium to attract these higher frequent levels, relationships, experiences, and opportunities.” “Just like everything else, we attract what we are. If we're trying to pursue these great and mighty things, what we find is that those great and mighty things are filled with emptiness. Because we're doing them out of the pursuit of validation.” “Transformation in your life is nothing more than having a context of tools that help you advance your understanding, yielding, and letting go.” “I'm giving myself permission, and that permission is all the power you need.” Guest Bio: Angus Nelson Angus is a man on a mission. Healthiness In Your Hands The neediness of an infirmed loved one frequently obscures a caregiver's fatigue, stress, and dangerous health patterns. Moreover, even if noticing the caregiver's exhaustion and strain, the warning signs can often go unheeded. Usually armed only with love and a sense of responsibility, caregivers recklessly deplete themselves physically and emotionally while caring for a vulnerable loved one. Passion and commitment are admirable, but how long can the patient "feel better" at the caregiver's expense? When faced with chronic impairments, love and responsibility accomplish more when directed to the caregiver's well-being first. However, many caregivers postpone healthy physical, emotional, and even sound fiscal decisions for themselves while in the throes of caregiving. Since no one else, particularly a sick or medicated individual, can lead the efforts toward one's own healthiness, the responsibility of a healthy lifestyle remains solely in the caregiver's hands. Addressing the caregiver's needs (not wants) isn't selfish. Quite the opposite – it helps ensure that the impaired loved one's care is in the hands of a healthier caregiver. “…take responsibility for being the healthiest person you can be - no one else is going to do it for you.” – Dr. Mehmet Oz

How do you define healthiness? If you're a Christian, you may be using the world's dictionary instead of God's (AKA the Bible).
Healthy is a word that more people casually throw around in conversation, especially when the other person is disciplined enough to exhibit that lifestyle, than actually doing the measures to achieve it. Merriam Webster defines it as the condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit; especially : freedom from physical disease or pain. We have been created as a 3 part being; body, soul(mind), and spirit. Healthiness involves a wholistic appearance on who you are as an individual to be achieved. The Creator has a desire for you to prosper and be in good health as your soul prospers. Prosperity by any form does not come by osmosis or just a mere thought. Discipline and labor will be required to accomplish it. Good health and satisfaction with long life are things that have already been promised, but what are you truly doing for it to manifest in your life? Are you aware that what affects your soul affects your body? Proverbs 17:22 GNB “Being cheerful keeps you healthy. It is slow death to be gloomy all the time.” So healthy living doesn't just involve what we feed our Spirit, but we must work diligently to preserve the the temples that house it. You can't possess that cheer to be healthy when you are labeled with various illnesses, ie: high blood pressure and hyperlipidemia, which are modifiable with a disciplined life. Healthy living benefits all 3 parts of us! Listen in today as our guest, Annette Brooks shares how she realized what healthy living really involved and the discipline she took and continues to practice in her life to achieve it.

In this episode of Change It Up Radio, we’re talking about having vibrant health, abundant energy, and true happiness that lasts us a lifetime. Two things that virtually all human beings want in their lives are to feel healthy and to be happy. We all know that every day we are bombarded with the next best product, diet, or program that will help us look younger, feel better, get fit, and have amazing health. But, despite our temptations to click "add to cart" on the things that promise to make us look 10 years younger, lose 20 pounds, or feel like a teenager again, are any of them effective? With so much conflicting information out there today, is being healthy, vibrant, and happy actually possible? Today’s guest, Dr. Shauna K. Young, is a Naturopathic Doctor and Ph.D. who is the owner and Medical Director of Assertive Wellness and has been a sought after national and international speaker on a large variety of health topics. She joins me today to discuss the core elements that are necessary to have a happy and healthy life. Dr. Shauna shares insight on how to recognize the good products out there from the scams, why there's no "one size fits all" diet or exercise program, and how to turn a dietary change into a lifestyle change that is actually sustainable. We Discuss: - The core elements that are really necessary to live a happy, healthy, and vibrant life - How to recognize when products and programs are worthwhile and not just a scam - Why the idea of a "one size fits all" diet or exercise program is actually disadvantageous - The importance of what we do and don't eat in order to keep our bodies in optimal health - Why exercise is only effective when paired alongside a healthy and balanced diet - How to turn a dietary change into an attainable and sustainable lifestyle change - How LifeWave's phototherapy patches help increase energy, improve sleep, and more! "A lifetime of healthiness achieved through housing" is the mission statement of Phoenix Haus. What would it take to get an operation like this up and running in New Zealand?
Today we’re talking about increasing our energy, relieving pain, and healing more rapidly by activating our stem cells and resetting them to a younger, healthier state. The problem that we all face is that as we age, the health and vitality of the stem cells in our bodies age as well. As this happens, our stem cells begin to decline in their effectiveness to heal and repair our bodies. By the time that we reach the age of 60, the health and vitality of these cells have declined by over 60%. When we get to our mid-70s, we don’t have very many stem cells left and have a much slower and difficult time healing. David Schmidt, Founder and CEO of LifeWave, joins me today to talk about how we can activate the stem cells in our body and safely and non-invasively reset them to a younger and healthier state right from the convenience of our own homes. He shares how Lifewave’s transformative wellness products deliver more energy, better sleep, pain relief, and a level of health and vitality that individuals have not experienced since their youth. We Discuss: The possibilities of stem cell medicine and how we can activate stem cells today without injections How as we age the health and vitality of the stem cells in our body age and decline in efficacy Why light therapy can influence our health and even control our biochemistry to a great degree How our bodies emit infrared light and activate the materials inside of the LifeWave patches Changing the energy dynamics of a cell to shift the way we look at health, wellness, and aging Using energy to restore the vitality of cells to the way they were when people were in their youth Activating and resetting the stem cells that are already in our body to a younger, healthier state How LifeWave’s X39 patches support wound healing, rapid pain relief, more energy, and better sleep For the full show notes visit: www.ChangeItUpRadio.com

The time comes to challenge our recovery..
Should your boss by you some trainers? Ruthless capitalists probably say no, but they're dickheads and wrong about a lot. Sensible people are starting realise more and more that the answer is probably yes - it'll make you healthier, and make their workplace more productive! We sat down for a workplace health and wellbeing inspection (not an audit) with the awesome Christine and Michael from Healthier Work ACT. As well as the benefits of a running shoe subsidy scheme, we also learned that scorecards are better than audits, you shouldn't sit on maggot farms, and cinema advertising works! Self Talk yourself to success. Motivational, life changing, positive, and empowering affirmations / self talk that can re-program our subconscious mind. When repeated over time, Self Talk can change our thoughts, our new thoughts will change our beliefs, our new beliefs will change our attitudes, our new attitudes will change our behavior and new behavior will produce new results in our lives. This Module covers Self Talk on the topic of "Healthy Mindset". In Module 1 of my podcasts, I explained that the subconscious mind is like a garden. It does not differentiate between the types of seeds you plant in this garden. Be aware and careful of what you are conscious of. Wealthy people are wealth conscious. Successful people are success conscious. Healthy people are health conscious. What about you? This program is created and led by Lee Siah Chong. Visit her website at www.personaldevelopmentpath.com.
