Turp viņa bija pārcēlusies no Kijivas tikai pāris mēnešus pirms kara sākuma. Dokumentālajā filmā „In Limbo” režisore Alina Maksimenko parāda karu no pavisam cita leņķa, nekā esam raduši redzēt ziņās. Paredzams, ka Alinas Maksimenko dokumentālo filmu „In Limbo” šopavasar varēsim redzēt arī Latvijā.

Today's guest is my friend, Sussex based photographer and activist Natasa Leoni. She focuses on humanitarian, protest and lifestyle photography, inspiring change through visual storytelling and photojournalism. Natasa has taken many a photo of me, and I lovingly call her 'the Queen Maker', since she legitimately makes everyone she snaps look like a queen! She's a long term volunteer and campaigner in the charity and migrant solidarity sector, running the Brighton branch of Care for Calais, which supports refugees and those seeking asylum. Her activism is something I've long admired. Her recent photography exhibition in Brighton entitled In Limbo showcased photo portraits of individuals living in temporary hotel accommodation, having travelled to the UK to escape harsh experiences in their home countries. I was so excited to have a personal, up close conversation with Natasa to explore how activism touches every single area of her life. Episode Highlights: 02:53 Defining Activism: A Personal Perspective 05:23 The Role of Community in Activism 09:36 Natasa's Journey into Activism 14:42 Experiences in Calais: Volunteering During COVID 19:45 Supporting Refugees in Brighton 24:34 In Limbo: The Photography Exhibition 31:58 Photography and Activism: Capturing the Spirit 37:43 Activism and Wellness: A Holistic Approach Mentioned in the episode: How White Supremacy Harms Us All with Leah Kim Voices on the Side Connect with me on Instagram and find out more about me this way. This week, Tommy is joined by acting powerhouses Eliza Taylor and Bob Morley for a rare joint interview. They are best known for their starring roles in the post-apocalyptic smash-hit television series, The 100, which ran for an incredible 7 seasons. The internet crowns The 100 as one of “the greatest TV shows of all time,” and for good reason. Aside from this fan-favorite series, you can currently watch Bob in Love Me and In Limbo, streaming on Hulu, and you can catch Eliza on NBC's Quantum Leap season 2 streaming on Peacock. Today Eliza and Bob open up about what they miss the most about being on The 100, how they are both eager to play their characters again, what playing the network's first openly bisexual character meant to Eliza, what they have learned about themselves through being on a series for so many years, the moment Bob realized he needed to protect his mental health towards the end of filming the 100, what they want to see if a reboot happens, how they prioritize their marriage while being parents and having demanding careers, balancing feeling proud and successful of their work while worrying about what comes next, and something that they both want to share for the first time in hopes of helping other people feel less alone. “It sucks that a lot of times when POC want to break into the industry, we have to publish a memoir first. But I personally had to — I've been needing to do this for a very long time.” Deb JJ Lee, is an award-winning graphic novelist and artist. Their young adult IN LIMBO tells Deb's Korean American coming of age story - covered by Quarantined Comics. When we shared that episode, they got in touch. Deb shares their experiences growing up between two cultures. For a while, Deb's English wasn't perfect. Teachers could not pronounce their Korean name. Her face and her eyes―especially her eyes―feel wrong. As we learned in this ranging conversation with Deb - this was a work they had to do, to not just work through a story, but to find closure in the aftermath. IN LIMBO is moving work of mental health, gender identity, and growing up. For many of us who have often felt like outsiders, this story is painfully familiar, and brings forth a lot of empathy for those around us invisibly struggling. Aussie actor Ryan Corr has a new show on the ABC called “In Limbo”, he called Clairsy & Lisa to tell them all about it.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This chat I am joined by actor ‘Ryan Corr'. Who is back in Australia collaborating with 'ABC Australia' on a new Series' In Limbo' which Premieres Wednesday 24th May at 9.00pm on 'ABC TV' and 'ABC iview.' All six episodes available to stream on 'ABC iview' from launch 'Ryan Corr' takes on the roll of 'Charlie' who's best friend dies at just 38. 'Charlie' is forced to face his grief in a way he could never have imagined, when the ghost of his dead friend begins ‘haunting' him. This series may sound a bit grim and the idea of it being a comedy drama might actually surprise you but I will tell you that this show is highly entertaining. If you don't mind laughing and needing a box of tissues. The 'In Limbo' production team were grateful to have a mental health advisory group working with them during the development and production of the series. I offer a content warning as this conversation does include topics of mental health struggle, suicide and depression. 'Lifeline''s 24-hour telephone crisis line which is 13 11 14! I will ask ‘Ryan Corr' if this project was of particular interest and if he said yes because he wanted to add to the important conversation on mens mental health. 'Ryan Corr' will talk about the differences of working on shows like 'House of the Dragon' over making TV in Australia and why he enjoys the intimacy of localise productions. We will discuss how he shaped the his relationship with actor 'Bob Morel'y to give their best friend status the right authenticity. Plus we will also get plenty of exclusives from behind the scenes of 'In Limbo' which as I mentioned starts this week on 'ABC Australia.' See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Hello and welcome to the Cinema Australia Podcast. My name is Matthew Eeles. In this episode I'm joined by writer, director, co-producer, director of photography, editor and composer Ivan Sen and actor Simon Baker to discuss their masterful new film, Limbo. In Limbo, Simon Baker plays Travis, a jaded detective who arrives in the remote outback town of Limbo to investigate the cold case murder of local Indigenous girl Charlotte Hayes 20 years ago. As truths about the murder begin to unfold, the detective gains a new insight into the unsolved case from the victim's fractured family, the surviving witnesses and the reclusive brother of the chief suspect. In this episode, your hosts, Phil and Edward, talk with Samuel Hus of In Limbo. In Limbo is an initiative started by four Brussels-based organisations that aims to facilitate the donation and reuse of materials within the socio-cultural sector in Brussels. With over 500 partners, In Limbo helps reduce the flow of materials to the recycling sector and ensures that organisations with fewer resources can obtain these reusable materials.

Nick and Austin don't need too much wine or sleeping pills to get through the last songs on Kid A. Just get ready for a discussion of old IBM computers, Wagner operas, and Bo Burnham. Nick forces Austin to listen to "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah," while they both rave about Alice Coltrane. For some inexplicable reason, the 1997 film Titanic comes up. The descent into the unconscious continues with a look at Kid A's eclectic middle. Austin escapes reality with "How to Disappear Completely," while Nick finds a way to quote James Joyce twice. They discuss the use of ambient tracks in the rock canon, and ponder if Led Zeppelin was ruined for Austin by the hilariously campy film, "The Song Remains the Same." Along the way they briefly debate how time flows and how to find Kid A's secret booklet. On this Al Lubrano Interview: The best-selling author of “Limbo: Blue-Collar Roots, White-Collar Dreams,” on growing up in Bensonhurst and NOT embracing the street ethic machismo and violence, why blue-collar households create the perfect factory workers, conformity vs. collaboration, the biggest communication differences between blue collar and middle class families, having too much silverware, why we call them “clean,” walking into a classroom with people “just like you, yet nothing like you…” marrying and socializing with people in different classes, being ok with NOT resolving all this stuff, NYC Pizza, surviving cancer (twice), work ethic, loads more. VERY kind and candid, deep conversation about moving from one class to the next. This is a MUST listen! If you’d like to support this show: http://www.everyonelovesguitar.com/support In Limbo, Al identifies and describes an overlooked cultural phenomenon: the internal conflict within individuals raised in blue-collar homes, now living white-collar lives. These people often find that the values of the working class are not sufficient guidance to navigate the white-collar world, where unspoken rules reflect primarily upper-class values. Torn between the world they were raised in and the life they aspire too, they hover between worlds, not quite accepted in either. Himself the son of a Brooklyn bricklayer, Lubrano uses his personal experience and interviews of other professionals living in limbo. For millions of Americans, these stories will serve as familiar reminders of the struggles of achieving the American Dream Alfred Lubrano was born in Brooklyn, the first man in his family to complete high school. He graduated from Columbia University undergrad, and from Northwestern University where he got a master's degree in journalism. He’s worked for newspapers in Columbus, Cleveland, and New York City. Today, he writes about poverty and issues of social class for the Philadelphia Inquirer. He's contributed stories to GQ, the New York Times, and MSNBC... was also a commentator on National Public Radio's Weekend Edition for 14 years, and his work has appeared in half a dozen college textbooks on writing. He's lectured about class in America at universities throughout the country and has won numerous journalist awards Subscribe https://www.everyonelovesguitar.com/subscribe/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EveryoneLovesGuitar/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/everyonelovesguitar/

Ahead of the election, we wanted to find out about groups of British expats across the continent who have come together since the referendum in 2016 to protect the rights and futures of British citizens living in Europe and the sort of work they do, so we got in touch with three to learn some more. First, we hear from Michael Harris, a British writer and educator who lives near Madrid. After the referendum, Michael set up Eurocitizens, a Spain based group who meet with government officials in Madrid to lobby for the ring-fencing of British citizens’ rights post Brexit. He’s also on the steering group of British in Europe, a coalition of a number of groups looking out for British citizens’ rights across the continent. Debbie Williams also works closely with British in Europe, through her own group, Brexpats – Hear Our Voice. Their members are found in countries across the EU, and they similarly work with EU wide organizations to find answers to the main questions people have about what is going to happen to UK citizens post-Brexit. Brexpats have also collaborated with a project in the UK called In Limbo. That’s run by Elena Remigi, an Italian living in the UK who decided to set up the project to humanize the Brexit process by sharing testimonies of EU nationals in the UK, and later UK nationals in the EU.
