When You Stop Second-Guessing Yourself as a Homeschool Mom, Self-Leadership Begins Many homeschool moms quietly live with a constant undercurrent of doubt. Am I doing enough? Am I doing this right? In this episode, Teresa sits down with Hilary to explore what happens when a homeschool mom stops second-guessing herself and begins leading her life and family with confidence. Hilary shares her journey through exhaustion, comparison, and feeling uprooted — and how reclaiming her voice and stepping into self-leadership transformed not only her homeschool life, but the atmosphere of her entire family. Insights on How to Stop Second-Guessing as a Homeschool Mom How Hilary navigated the chaos of moving, renovations, and family life while feeling lost and off-balance. Recognizing the hidden pressure to seek approval from others, even as a naturally strong and independent person. The moment Hilary realized that leadership is where you are — no title required — and how that insight shifted her approach to life and family. Practical tools that helped Hilary reclaim her energy and confidence: Visualization exercises to clarify personal and family goals Morning journaling practice to reconnect with herself and her priorities Creating community through book clubs, shared experiences, and collaborative projects How living intentionally and aligned with your values — prioritizing relationships, depth, and presence — transforms both your life and your children's experience. #407 In this episode, Guy welcomed Gabi Kovalenko to discuss the evolution of consciousness, the human biofield, and humanity's choices between organic autonomy and technology dependence. Gabi described reality as entangled fields (electromagnetic, scalar, plasma) and says current solar activity, CMEs, and biophoton "plasmic" influx can dysregulate those without inner coherence, while supporting awakening, introspection, and integration for others. They contrast seeking external "false light" or comfort with using illumination to metabolize trauma and restore love-based coherence, emphasizing integrity between thoughts, feelings, and actions. Gabi warned of transhumanist "artificial code" as a potential severing from soul/morphogenetic fields, while arguing coherent living can harmonize with higher DNA potential. They touched on felt support beyond the physical, retreats, her book "Falling Up," and her sessions and women's course. About Gabi: Gabi Kovalenko is a transformational thought leader and modern philosopher with a pro-consciousness approach to personal development and mindful living. Gabi integrates principles of noetic science and positive psychology into her philosophy to shed light on the nexus of science and spirituality, revealing the power of consciousness and potentiality within all of life. Her approach revitalizes spiritual concepts by offering a refreshing take on the self-evident truth of universal order that connects people of all ages to their innate wisdom and purpose. Since an early age, she has demonstrated signs of divine wisdom speaking through her and has always been unique, original, and deeply philosophical. She perceives reality through the lens of higher consciousness, even in spite of her young age. These days, individuals like herself are often considered old souls, starseeds, or prodigies, but her humble personality doesn't like to identify with such labels. Gabi's passion lies in inspiring a fresh awareness of life by disarming limiting beliefs with self-awareness and igniting a paradigm shift towards joy, abundance, love, passion, and freedom to help an individual construct the inner world of their choosing and, in doing so, contribute to the formation of a better one for us all. It sounds like something a Bond villain would think up. A startup wants to put giant mirrors into space to reflect sunlight back toward the Earth at night. Why would someone want to do this? To disturb the sleep of everyone on the “dark side” of the planet? No, but that would happen. To help plants grow faster and feed more people? Nope. Every classroom uses texts.Novels.Articles.Word problems.Scientific explanations.Historical documents.Even the periodic table. But the real question isn't simply what text we choose. The deeper question is:What experiences are students having through those texts? In this episode, Jocelynn explores the powerful literacy framework developed by scholar Rudine Sims Bishop—mirrors, windows, and sliding glass doors—and explains how this framework applies across all subject areas, not just English Language Arts.Through real classroom observations from both science and literature lessons, she demonstrates how teachers can transform everyday instructional materials into opportunities for identity development, perspective-taking, and deeper engagement. This episode also introduces three practical instructional moves educators can use to guide students beyond surface-level reading and into meaningful learning experiences.Because powerful teaching isn't just about selecting the right text. It's about how we help students encounter it.In This Episode, We Explore• What the mirrors, windows, and sliding glass doors framework is and why it matters in today's classrooms• How instructional decisions influence the way students experience texts• Why window texts require intentional guidance from teachers• How classroom moments that seem small can become powerful learning opportunities• Coaching insights for helping teachers reflect on student responses and plan forwardThe 3 Instructional Moves Discussed in This Episode1. Help Students See Themselves in Learning (Mirrors)Mirrors allow students to recognize their identities, experiences, and humanity in what they are learning. When students encounter mirrors in curriculum, they receive an important message:People like me exist in academic spaces.Mirrors strengthen identity development, belonging, and confidence in the classroom.2. Guide Students Through New Perspectives (Windows)Windows allow students to look into experiences different from their own.But simply exposing students to different perspectives is not enough.Teachers play a critical role in helping students:• slow down• ask deeper questions• consider context• move beyond judgment toward understandingWithout guidance, windows can remain surface-level exposure rather than meaningful learning.3. Invite Students to Step Into the Experience (Sliding Glass Doors)Sliding glass doors invite students to actively engage with the perspectives they encounter.Students move beyond observation and begin:• analyzing• questioning• connecting ideas• imagining the experience from another perspectiveThis is where some of the most powerful learning can happen.Coaching Corner ReflectionEducators and leaders can reflect on these questions:• What signals do students receive about whose experiences belong in learning spaces?• Where do mirrors already exist in my curriculum?• What window texts might require more intentional guidance for students?• How can I design opportunities for students to step through sliding glass doors and engage more deeply with ideas?Implementation IntentionReflection becomes powerful when it leads to action.Consider completing this sentence:This week, I will __________ at __________ for __________ in __________.

His organization, Epstein Justice, is one of the leading groups dedicated to pursuing justice for Epstein's victims—something that has remained elusive despite the extensive and well-documented abuse of children connected to the case.Bryant explains how the Epstein scandal shares striking similarities with the Franklin scandal, another alleged network of abuse that surfaced decades earlier. The key difference, he notes, is that the world now knows about Epstein, while very few people were aware of the Franklin scandal when it unfolded. We discuss the broader implications of these cases, the systemic failures that allowed them to persist, and why accountability has been so difficult to achieve even after years of public exposure. You can learn more about Epstein Justice and their mission at: https://EpsteinJustice.comLinks and Offers Mentioned in the show:Buy quality at Quince.com/BusinessGame - get free shipping and 365-day returns! Despite the title, "Mirrors" only briefly brushes against the Mirror Universe, as we find out the next clue is on the ISS "Enterprise"! It's floating in a pocket and the gang's all here: Michael, Moll, Book, and L'ak. And some kind of shenanigans force them to have to play nice or none of them are getting home. We also finally get some background on our little thrillseekers and how they met! Also this week: hot Mushroom Zombie, oddly-sturdy ships, and "Enterprise" couplings! 7. Guest Kevin Frazier addresses state-level AI regulation, warning against shortsighted laws that limit human agency. He advocates for transparencyand consumer choice over "regulatory capture" that mirrors historical over-litigation in other industries. (7)1968 ISAAC ASSIMOV,AUTHOR I, ROBOT
In this inspiring wrap-up to Sefer Shemot, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe focuses on the profound symbolism of the Kiyor (copper laver/washbasin) in Vayakheil (Exodus 38:8), made from the mirrors donated by the Jewish women ("Marot Hatzovot" – mirrors of the legions who gathered at the Tent of Meeting). While Moshe initially recoiled, viewing them as tools of yetzer hara (used for enticement), Hashem commanded their acceptance, declaring these donations more precious than gold or silver because they enabled the continuation of the Jewish people in Egypt. Exhausted slave husbands returned home depleted; wives used the mirrors not merely for vanity, but to reflect back to their husbands their true potential ("Look—you are so much greater than this slavery; you are worthy and capable"), reigniting desire, intimacy, and procreation—thus building "Tzivot Rabot" (vast legions) for the nation's survival.Rabbi Wolbe draws deep Mussar: the mirrors represent washing away self-doubt, limitations, and negative self-perception before divine service (just as Kohanim washed hands). A woman's role (and mother's especially) is to hold up that "mirror" to husbands and children—highlighting strengths, potential, and greatness to elevate them, not criticize. He shares a transformative story of a recovering addict who changed after accidentally seeing his degraded reflection ("This is not you—you're better"), paralleling how mothers (and wives) spotlight virtues to unlock excellence. The episode celebrates mothers' belief as the force behind achievements (e.g., Super Bowl players dedicating victories to Mom) and urges recognizing our limitless G-d-given potential—never self-limit, wash away doubt, and maximize talents._____________This episode of the Parsha Review Podcast is dedicated in honor of Lenny & Teresa FriedmanDownload & Print the Parsha Review Notes:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ncaRyoH5iJmGGoMZs9y82Hz2ofViVouv?usp=sharingRecorded at TORCH Meyerland in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on March 10, 2026, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on March 11, 2026_____________Subscribe: Apple Podcasts (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/parsha-review-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1651930083)Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/22lv1kXJob5ZNLaAl6CHTQ) to stay inspired! Madlik Podcast – Torah Thoughts on Judaism From a Post-Orthodox Jew
The Torah is incredibly strict about what goes into its holiest sanctuary, which is why one bizarre detail in Exodus chapter 38 makes absolutely no sense. In the inventory of materials used to build the Mishkan, the Torah accounts for the weight and value of all the gold, silver, copper, wood, and linen material used. It's very clinical, with no reference to significance or context. There is one striking exception. Exodus 38:8 tells us that the priestly washing basin was made "from the mirrors of the women who gathered at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting." Why does the Torah suddenly reveal the provenance of this one object? Who were these women—and what were they doing there? In this episode of Madlik Disruptive Torah, Geoffrey Stern and Rabbi Adam Mintz explore how a single enigmatic verse sparked generations of interpretation. This is PART TWO of our conversation. What if the home you thought would be a new beginning became the start of a nightmare? Before Doug Owen became a paranormal researcher and author, he was simply a husband and father trying to build a life for his family in a new Idaho home. Let’s Chat About The Winter Homeschool Slump It’s the winter homeschool slump. The holidays are long gone, spring still feels impossibly far away, and you’ve repeated your weekly homeschool routine approximately 25 times since September. You’ve done an estimated 125 loads of laundry. And somewhere in the middle of all of it — you stopped factoring yourself in. In this episode, Teresa gets honest about what this season actually costs homeschool mamas — emotionally, physically, and practically. She talks about Seasonal Affective Disorder, the winter blues, the boredom few admit to, and the unrealistic expectations that make the slump hit harder than it needs to. She also brings in the voices of real homeschool mamas sharing what actually helps them get through February — from mud walks and maple sugaring to chocolate stores, kitchen cooking lessons, and Perler beads. And she introduces the free Homeschool Mama Mini-Retreat — a self-paced guided space to pause, breathe, and remember who you are beyond the role you play every day. Whether you’re listening before or after the episode — this one is for the mama who’s doing everything for everyone else and quietly wondering when someone is going to show up for her. What This Episode Is About: Key Takeaways • The winter homeschool slump is real — and it has a season. January through March is genuinely hard for many, and struggling doesn’t mean you’re failing. • Seasonal Affective Disorder and winter blues are clinically real and common during the winter homeschool slump. Low light, low energy, and low motivation are not personal weaknesses. • Since September you’ve repeated your weekly routine 25 times and done approximately 125 loads of laundry. The math explains the depletion. • Most homeschool overwhelm isn’t about curriculum — it’s about expectations that were never realistic to begin with. • You almost never factored yourself into your original vision for homeschooling. That’s worth sitting with. • Charlotte Mason taught that atmosphere is one of the chief instruments of education. You are the atmosphere. Taking care of yourself is part of the lesson plan. • The retreat Teresa created was born in March 2020 — because even devoted, experienced homeschool mamas need somewhere to land. • You don’t need a 47-step self-care overhaul. You need one small, doable thing that actually fits your life. Questions to Sit With Teresa paused during this episode and asked these questions directly. If you haven’t answered them yet — here’s your space. What were your expectations when you first began homeschooling? What surprised you about the reality of it? Or what part of homeschool life makes you question yourself the most? When did you last ask yourself what you actually need? If nothing changes — what stays the same? From the Confident Homeschool Mom Community Real homeschool mamas shared what actually gets them through the winter homeschool slump. Teresa read these in the episode — here they are to keep. On getting outside and leaning into the season: “We try to get outdoors as much as possible, even when it means being covered head to toe in rainy, cold mud. This time of year is great for witnessing lamb births, ice skating, husky races, snow shoeing, maple sugaring. Good time to visit science museums and do more tangible things with our hands. And last but not least — chocolate. That’s what February is for.“ On letting the kitchen be the classroom: “Just stop. Play educational games. Get to planning, preparing, cooking, and serving a nutritional meal. Learn how to set a proper table. Every subject is addressed in the kitchen. Dramatic reading out loud — that can dissolve into laughter and build confidence at the same time.“ On mixing things up: Schedule indoor field trips as often as possible. Learn a new subject — we’re currently learning about Black women in history. Cuddle with a warm blanket and read books aloud. Take on a new project — coding tutorials, Perler beads. Bond: play board games, have a dance party, cook together. From Colleen — who is the one being homeschooled: I can definitely relate to February slump month — except I am on the other end of the spectrum. I am the one being homeschooled, and I would not change it for the world. What Mamas Are Saying About the Retreat “I told you at our first session that I was looking for hope — and the tools in this retreat gave me exactly that. 1 hour, 4 minutes (Released: February 26, 2018 / Recorded: February 3, 2018) In this episode of WEBurlesque The Podcast, Viktor Devonne interviews Attica Wilde, a New Jersey based producer and burlesque performer. Attica Wilde passed away in March 2026 in a senseless act of violence. We re-upload this episode in her memory, reminding us to remember her energy, style, and hope for the future. Attica starts off by talking about her own humble beginnings as a performer and how she can't get rid of the video evidence entirely no matter how much she tries: "I wasn't even supposed to perform; I was supposed to be a stage kitten. And the week before, [the producer] was like 'Hey, so I have an opening, come up with two acts.' And I already kind of had one with a giant coffin because I never do anything small, so I said ok and I did them and they still exist on the internet." Along with being a producer and performer, Attica is also a burlesque teacher. She goes on to talk about some of the tips she gives her students and how she is tired of everyone doing acts to the same old burlesque classics: "Don't always pick the obvious choice. I tell that to my students a lot… If it's an obvious choice that you've already seen someone else do… It's really hard… as a newbie to be like let me reimagine this completely." From there, Attica recounts her time as the producer of the classical review Smoke and Mirrors and why she decided to go in that direction when it was created and what led her to eventually realizing she wanted to get out: "At the time, it felt to me there was a gap to what we offered here in Jersey in terms of styles of burlesque…there wasn't really any classical here… I thought that was the easiest way to make my mark…One of the many reasons [my show] Smoke and Mirrors isn't around anymore is that I found it very confining…and I didn't have room or space to be more creative or to cast the more creative or weird out there things." Attica is recovering from back surgery and is slowing getting back into performing after having to recover. She recounts why she had to get the back surgery in the first place and why it was so hard to receive the care she needed: "I was in a car accident and I had cracked one of the disks in my L4, L5, like almost in half…it's the lowest part of your spine… it was one of those quiet injuries where no one believes you are actually injured because you can't see it…. I had the surgery after about a year and a half of trying everything else because I was 27 at the time and [the doctors] were like 'You are too young for back surgery.'" With all these experiences behind her, Attica finishes the podcast by reflecting on what being a burlesque performer means to her and where she sees the artform going. Society has made many strides in the past few decades, but she admits to still being insecure in her identities: "There is an implication to being a burlesque performer and talking about it. Now, I generally don't run in circles with people that don't get it or who cast shade or look down on me for it because I just don't have time for that in my life. However, the fact that we are having more politically toned shows more obviously speaks volumes to where we are at right now and I see them all the time… [Despite the more widespread acceptance] I still have feelings of not being queer enough in queer spaces. I'm currently dating a girl and seeing a trans person and I'm still not queer enough because most of my relationships have been straight passing."
Through the looking glass we go, as we consider other shapes the World of Darkness might take. On this, our 316th Evolutionary Lens livestream, we discuss health, science, and the Cartesian crisis as it relates to global events. First: a new paper finds that infection tends to lead to greater frailty in older people. This reverses the causality of Terrain Theory of Disease (frailty of the body leads to greater susceptibility of infection), and also provides support for a prediction made by Bret and his co-author Debbie Ciszek in the unpublished, longer version of their reserve capacity paper from 2002. Then: what we are seeing on our personal media feeds does not make us eye-witnesses to anything—not necessarily. Plato's Cave of Mirrors means that we are all fed different media diets, and skills such as observation, discernment, and hypothesis generation, inherently fail when nobody can establish what is actually true. Recommendation: start comparing notes with other people as to what they are seeing, rather than what they think it means.*****Our sponsors:NOBS: NOBS is doing a nationwide rollout into 917 Target stores. Morningstar's William Kerwin has a five-star rating on Marvell (MRVL) off what he calls "great" earnings and "even better" guidance. However, William believes Marvell remains a small fish in an "excessively large pond." Stephen Sopko says Marvell is positioning itself to be similar to Nvidia's (NVDA) hypergrowth story from the first half of the 2020s. He sees the company capitalizing on a "tight niche" through hyperscaler customers.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Options involve risks and are not suitable for all investors. In today's entrepreneurial world, there is no shortage of conferences, summits, masterminds, and learning forums. But here's the real question: How do you know which ones are actually worth your time, energy, and money? In this episode, Shannon sits down with Dora Rankin to talk about discernment in business spaces - especially in a post-COVID world where the coaching and event industry has exploded with noise, hype, and inflated promises. They dive into: Why entrepreneurs are more discerning than ever The rise of "smoke and mirrors" marketing How to vet event hosts and speakers properly What to look for beyond viral posts and flashy branding Why collaboration over competition is the future How to choose rooms that stretch you without compromising your values The importance of structured sales systems alongside marketing If you've ever invested in a room that felt fluffy, performative, or misaligned — this episode will help you make smarter decisions moving forward. Key Takeaways Not all entrepreneurial events are built on substance — discernment matters. Post-COVID attendees expect measurable ROI, not hype. Viral marketing does not equal proven expertise. Testimonials, references, and tangible results matter more than aesthetics. Alignment with leadership style and values is critical. Growth rooms should challenge you — not manipulate you. Collaboration expands credibility and industry standards. Structured sales systems are as important as marketing strategies. About Dora: Dora Rankin is a powerhouse business coach, sales strategist, and author of USA Today bestselling book, The Heart Sell, dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and unlock their highest earning potential. Aleksander Lingauer is back on the show, this time putting everything on the table.Aleksander is an endurance athlete and writer, and the mind behind Project 61: a solo mission to run the length of Germany, one marathon a day, for two straight months. He's also crewed for Kim Gotthwald across two Last Man Standing victories. And this year, BPN extended him an invitation of his own.Aleksander is here to be honest and raw: about his nervous system shutting down on him. Not from one bad running session, but from weeks of training too hard, sleeping too little, and handling sudden public attention in ways he'll be the first to admit weren't healthy. What followed were tearful nights, empty churches, and one very raw conversation with himself on paper. He had to ask himself the question: what am I really doing this for? This isn't a race preview. It's an hour between two people talking honestly about ego, identity, faith, and what happens when the thing you've built your life around suddenly feels meaningless. There are a lot of lies homeschool moms believe about their exhaustion. That they need a better curriculum. A tighter schedule. More discipline. But most of the time, the real answer goes much deeper than that. If you started this week with a cold cup of coffee, a house that doesn’t look like the ones on Pinterest, and a quiet voice in your head telling you you’re not doing enough — this episode is for you. Because that voice? It’s not telling you the truth. And the exhaustion you’re carrying? It’s not actually about the laundry. In this first episode of the Perfectionist to Present series, we’re pulling back the curtain on something most homeschool moms never talk about openly: the way perfectionism masquerades as responsibility — and slowly drains everything. What This Episode Is About: The Lies Homeschool Moms Believe This is a story. Several of them, actually. Because the truth about perfectionism — where it comes from, what it costs, and why it feels so hard to let go — can’t really be taught. It has to be recognized. And sometimes the fastest way to recognize something in yourself is to hear it in someone else’s story first. In this episode, you’ll hear about: A handmade circus tent (yes, really) and what it was actually about An eight-months-pregnant moment of abandonment and bone-deep exhaustion that cracked something open A Monday morning homeschool meltdown — the kind where you hear yourself yelling and wonder who that person is The childhood moment that quietly shaped decades of people-pleasing, peace-keeping, and proving And the first, small shift that made everything else possible The Thing Nobody Tells You About Perfectionism Most of us were never taught that perfectionism is a coping strategy. We were taught it was a personality trait — maybe even a virtue. She’s so detail-oriented. She has such high standards. She really cares. But here’s what’s underneath it: a belief, usually formed early and reinforced often, that your worth has to be earned. That if the house is clean enough, the birthday party elaborate enough, the homeschool schedule rigorous enough — then maybe you’ll finally feel like you’re enough. The exhausting part isn’t the circus tent. It’s the equation. If I do enough → I am enough. That equation is a lie. And it will run you into the ground before it ever delivers on its promise. For the Homeschool Mom Specifically There’s something uniquely brutal about perfectionism in the homeschool context. Because you’re not just managing a home — you’re also the educator, the curriculum director, the activity coordinator, the emotional regulator, and often the person holding the whole family’s nervous system together. The bar is invisible and always moving. And when Monday morning arrives and the kids are bickering, and the coffee is cold, and you snap — the perfectionist doesn’t just feel frustrated. She feels like she has failed. Like she is the problem. She isn’t. But it takes a while to see that clearly. This episode is the beginning of seeing it clearly. A Note on What This Series Is (And Isn’t) This month, we’re exploring four interconnected themes: Week 1 — Perfectionism: what it is, where it lives, and what it’s costing you (you’re here) Week 2 — The cost of keeping the peace: what years of self-erasure actually produce Week 3 — What coming back to yourself actually looks like Week 4 — Why you don’t have to do this alone (dropping the same day as our live retreat) Each episode will name something real. It won’t hand you a system. It will hand you a mirror — and maybe, if the timing is right, a door. Quotes Worth Sitting With “This isn’t about lowering your standards or caring less. It’s about caring about the right things.” “I was trying to silence that inner voice that told me I wasn’t good enough — a voice that had been shaped by harsh words from my childhood.” “I couldn’t accept imperfection in my family members because I couldn’t accept it in myself.” “I felt abandoned at the very moment I needed support the most.” “Every fiber of me was spent.” “You don’t rest because you’re at your wits’ end. You rest because you’re human.” If This Episode Resonated With You The moment after an episode like this — when something has been named, and you feel it in your chest — is actually really important. Not to do anything with. Just to be in. If you want a gentle, guided space to stay in that moment a little longer, I created a free mini-retreat you can do from your own home. Designed to help you pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself without needing to go anywhere, or have childcare, or do anything perfectly.

You get two types of people when it comes to learning how to drive. The first type? Trial by fire: “As soon as you get your L’s, we’re hitting the N1 at 7am. If you can survive Marlboro Drive traffic, you can survive anything.” No warm-up. No quiet suburb roads. Straight into taxis, trucks, and that one guy in a BMW flashing you from behind. Then you get the second type. The soft launch drivers. “No rush. Let’s start in an empty parking lot. Indicators. Mirrors. Three-point turns. We build confidence first.” They believe in quiet streets, Sunday mornings, and zero pressure. One says, “The highway builds character.” The other says, “Trauma is not a teaching method.” So which one are you? Did you learn in survival mode on the N1…or did you master the basics on a peaceful back road first? Hang out with Anele and The Club on 947 every weekday morning. What happens when you snap at your kids — and then spend the rest of the day punishing yourself for it? That's the homeschool mom inner critic. And it's running your days more than you realize. That's not a homeschooling problem. That's not a patience problem. And it’s not even a bad day problem. It’s the homeschool mom inner critic loop — and it's running your homeschool (and your life) more than you realize. This month's focus is Nurturing the Nurturer — because the voice telling you you're not enough didn't start with homeschooling. It started long before. And until you see it clearly, it's going to keep driving your days. What You’ll Discover in This Episode Teresa shares the morning that cracked everything open for her — and what she finally understood sitting at the end of her bed, depleted, questioning whether she was cut out for this audacious thing called home education. Because here's what we actually are beneath all of it. Beneath the functioning. Beneath the meals and the read-alouds and the lesson planning and the driving and the trying. We are women who chose something enormous — and who are doing it largely alone, largely unseen, largely without anyone stopping to ask how we're actually doing. Not how the kids are progressing. How WE are. The Homeschool Mom Inner Critic Loop React → Feel Bad → Criticize Yourself → React Again. That loop isn't just emotionally painful. It quietly fuels your mental load, drains your nervous system, and over time — this is the part that matters most — it erodes your trust in yourself. Every round through it, you collect more evidence that you're failing. That you're not enough. That everyone else has it together. And you start to believe it. The Voices Running The Show “If I stop, everything falls apart.” “I should be able to handle this.” “Other moms don't lose it like this.” “If I rest, I'm letting everyone down.” Sound familiar? Those aren't facts. They're a very convincing, very well-practiced story. And you can learn to interrupt it. What To Do In The Moment The difference between “this is hard” and “I am failing.” The Friend Test — one practical tool you can use the next time that critical voice starts. The four cookbook questions to ask yourself when that feeling of failure shows up. And why your feeling of failure isn't a verdict — it's information. The Four Cookbook Questions When the inner critic starts — don't spiral. Go back to the cookbook. What are you not getting enough of? What are you getting too much of? And what's the one thing — if you're really honest — you already know you need? What have you been ignoring that keeps showing up anyway? The Truth About The Homeschool Mom Inner Critic Learning to interrupt that harsh inner voice isn't about positive thinking or trying harder. It's about seeing the pattern clearly — and choosing something different. Your kids don't need you to be perfect. They need you present. But when the inner critic is running the show, you're not leading from presence. You're reacting from an old story that was never yours to begin with. You are overidentifying your responsibility to your kids — and underidentifying your responsibility to yourself. What is best for you is what is best for them. Join The Calm The Inner Critic Workshop Ready to go deeper? In this episode, I sit down with psychic, spiritual content creator, and all-around iconic human Kayleigh Alexa for an unfiltered conversation about what it actually means to be a spiritual woman navigating dating, self-trust, and showing up online without losing your soul in the process. We chat about the the spiritual closet, what it means to hide your gifts because you're afraid of rejection, and why that same wound shows up in your relationships, your dating patterns, and even your content. Kayleigh shares her experience of being gaslit by a partner who literally knew she was psychic and intentionally made her doubt herself, and how that became the catalyst for owning her gifts fully. This episode goes deep on soul mirrors, why you attract people who reflect your unhealed wounds, energetic sovereignty in relationships, what it means to create content FROM yourself instead of FOR the algorithm, and why your intuition has never actually been wrong.

The Metaphysical Hour with Julia Cannon and Tracie Mahan and Question Master Tiffanny Navigating the Saturn-Neptune Conjunction: Frequencies, Self-Sovereignty, and the Language of the Body This episode of The Metaphysical Hour explores the spiritual transition from 3D to 5D frequencies, emphasizing the importance of self-trust and discernment during major astrological shifts. Hosts Julia Cannon and Tracey Mahan discuss how to interpret life's triggers and physical symptoms as guidance for soul evolution. The Saturn-Neptune Conjunction and New Beginnings The discussion opens with a significant energy update regarding the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at zero degrees Aries, occurring on February 20, 2026. This rare event marks the beginning of a new 36-year cycle in the Zodiac, signaling a time for bravery and the initiation of new paths. The hosts highlight that this period requires individuals to embody self-sovereignty and responsibility (Saturn) while leaning into spiritual intuition and soul missions (Neptune). The Frequency Shift: Moving from 3D to 5D A central theme of the conversation is the collective movement into higher frequencies. Julia Cannon shares a vision of this transition as moving through a film or filter; anything that does not resonate with the higher 5D frequency is essentially "squeezed out" of the soul and body. This process often brings old patterns and behaviors directly into one's "face" to be dealt with [163-176]. The hosts explain that if these lessons are ignored, they will continue to reappear—sometimes as a "psychic two-by-four"—until the individual chooses to look at the behavior and release it. Triggers as Mirrors for Growth The hosts emphasize that external triggers, especially those found in the news or social media, are mirrors for internal work. When an individual reacts strongly to an event, it indicates an area of insecurity, doubt, or unworthiness that is ready for healing [229-246]. Staying in a state of love requires asking, "What is this teaching me?" and maintaining discernment rather than blindly following a "bandwagon". SoulSpeak: The Language of the Body The Q&A segment addresses physical symptoms as subconscious messages. For instance, losing one's voice is interpreted as the body's way of forcing a "break" that the individual refused to take consciously [675-678][741-751]. The body often uses illness as an "excusable" reason for rest when the ego continues to push through exhaustion [741-755]. Additionally, the hosts clarify that in QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique) sessions, "knowing" or "feeling" information is just as valid as "seeing" it, as everyone processes spiritual data differently. The current energetic climate is one of profound transition, demanding that individuals shed old "3D" baggage to align with higher frequencies. By treating life's challenges as mirrors and physical symptoms as messages, one can navigate this 36-year cycle with greater ease, self-love, and spiritual clarity.

How do one way mirrors allow light to pass in only one direction? If light travels through the glass equally from both sides, why does the simple flip of a light switch create a hidden observer? What happens when you finally stop asking permission to be yourself? If you’ve been wondering how to stop people-pleasing as a homeschool mom, this conversation will show you it’s possible. Homeschool mom and creative entrepreneur Latoya shares her journey from living for everyone else to discovering what she actually wants—and why that shift changed everything in her homeschool life. This month’s focus: Nurturing the Nurturer — because you can’t give what you don’t have, and your kids don’t need your perfection. They need your presence. Latoya hit 40 and realized she’d spent decades doing what everyone expected—but had never asked herself what SHE actually wanted. As a homeschool mom, restaurant management graduate, and someone who always made sure everyone else was okay, the idea of prioritizing herself felt selfish. Scary. Wrong. But when she finally gave herself permission to explore her creativity, build her crochet business, and trust her own voice? That was when things began to shift. Her homeschool days became more peaceful. Her kids became more autonomous. And she discovered that choosing herself wasn’t selfish—it was the best thing she could do for her family. How to Stop People-Pleasing as a Homeschool Mom: Latoya’s Journey from Self-Sacrifice to Self-Trust What You’ll Discover in This Episode The Permission You’ve Been Waiting For: Why serving yourself actually serves your family better How to distinguish between what you want and what others expect of you The power of silence and solitude in discovering your authentic voice Why “waiting for the answer” is part of the process From Rigid to Present: Redefining Homeschool Success What a “good day” used to look like (spoiler: checking all the boxes) vs. what it looks like now How to choose peace over productivity for a more meaningful family life Why your kids’ autonomy grows when you honour your own The truth about gaps, “behind,” and what kids actually need to thrive Caribbean Flow vs. Hustle Culture: The cultural pressure to always be “doing something” Why presence matters more than productivity How to give yourself permission to just BE with your people What happens when you stop measuring success externally Creative Work as Life Force (Not Luxury): Why Latoya’s crochet business isn’t “extra”—it’s essential How creative pursuits actually fuel better mothering Choosing fulfillment over financial gain (and being okay with that) Teaching your kids to honour their interests by modeling it yourself The Inner Work Nobody Talks About: Why inner work is gritty, messy, and nothing like social media portrays How to extend to yourself the same compassion you give others The first small decision where you stop explaining and start trusting yourself Why disappointing others is sometimes the most aligned choice “What is best for you, for me is what’s best for them because it trickles into everything else. So the happier I become, the more comfortable I become with myself, the better everything around me gets.” — Latoya Why This Conversation Matters This isn’t just another interview about homeschooling. It’s about what happens when you finally permit yourself to ask: Who am I beyond the roles I play? If you’re struggling with how to stop people-pleasing as a homeschool mom, Latoya’s story is for you. She’s every mom who’s ever wondered if wanting something for herself makes her selfish. But here’s what Latoya discovered (and what you will too): When you choose yourself, your kids don’t suffer. They thrive. Because they get to see what it looks like to honor your own voice, trust your own knowing, and live from alignment instead of obligation. Your homeschool doesn’t need more curriculum. It needs more of YOU—the real you, the aligned you, the unapologetic you. In light of the new Netflix documentary about Lucy Letby, we're dipping into the RedHanded archives to revisit our own coverage of this controversial case – following an expert panel's findings in February 2025...Want even more up-to-date analysis? Listen to our new ShortHand episode now: 'ShortHand: Lucy Letby – What Netflix Left Out'. --An independent panel of experts has concluded that NO murders took place at the Countess of Chester hospital. If true, it would mean that Lucy Letby, currently serving 15 life sentences and branded the UK's most prolific child serial killer, is innocent – and the subject of the worst miscarriage of justice in recent British memory. We go over what was covered at last week's press conference – and whether it changed our minds on this complex case. EVEN MORE about this episode! What happens when a hardcore skeptic dies—and comes back changed forever? In this unforgettable episode of the Ask Julie Ryan Show, Julie Ryan sits down with Dr. Lotte Valentin, whose dramatic near-death experience shattered her lifelong disbelief in anything spiritual. After hemorrhaging following childbirth, Lotte—an atheist programmer from Sweden—found herself floating above her body in an emergency room, immersed in unconditional love, surrounded by angels, and shown a luminous grid revealing that everything is connected. With no spiritual framework to explain what happened, Lotte was terrified to share her experience, fearing she'd be dismissed or institutionalized. But the spirit world didn't stop at revelation—it gave her a mission. She was told to go to medical school, write books, and bring healing messages to others. At age 54, she followed that guidance exactly, completing her prerequisites from scratch and entering medical school, ultimately merging Western medicine with medical intuition, ancestral healing, and mediumship. This powerful conversation explores near-death experiences, divine timing, and why science and spirituality aren't opposites—but reflections of the same truth. Filled with validation, courage, and hope, this episode is a must-watch for anyone who's ever wondered whether there's more to life than what we can see.Guest Biography:Dr. Lotte Valentin is an N.M.D., author, evidential psychic and medical medium, ancestral healer, and internationally recognized keynote speaker known for bridging science and soul. Often described as an oracle, she moves effortlessly through the realms of mystic, prophet, and seer. Her award-winning book Med School After Menopause: The Journey of My Soul earned 1st place in Spiritual Leadership from the Living Now Book Awards for its powerful message of transformation, healing, and spirituality. Following two near-death out-of-body experiences that awakened her clairvoyant, clairaudient, and clairsentient abilities, Dr. Lotte was guided to pursue medicine—completing her prerequisites and entering medical school at age 54—while also serving as an evidential medium and teacher. She has created Ancestral Healing Journeys in collaboration with Hemi-Sync, teaches with leading spiritual organizations worldwide, and frequently speaks on near-death experiences and medical intuition. Dr. Lotte is also the host of Dr. Lotte: Science with Soul, a top-5% globally ranked podcast dedicated to empowering people to heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually while uniting modern science with ancient wisdom.Episode Chapters:(0:01:30) - Dr. Lotte's Background and First NDE Setup(0:02:15) - The 7.4 Earthquake During Labor(0:04:30) - Postpartum Hemorrhaging Begins(0:08:06) - Multiple ER Visits and Medical Dismissal(0:10:30) - Critical Hemorrhage and Blood Pressure Drop(0:12:22) - First Near Death Experience - Leaving the Body(0:17:26) - Sister-in-Law's Spirit Visit in Hospital(0:19:33) - Introduction to Life After Life Book(0:20:06) - Nordic Spirituality and Childhood Experiences(0:21:58) - Second Near Death Experience(0:23:00) - The Mid-Station and Celestial Music(0:24:20) - Encountering Angels and Source Light(0:26:59) - The Grid Vision and Interconnectedness(0:30:00) - Hearing the Spirit World for 12 Years(0:31:01) - The Call to Medical School(0:34:04) - Starting Prerequisites at 54(0:34:44) - Science and Spirituality as Mirrors(0:36:00) - Quantum Entanglement Explanation(0:39:16) - Aura Photography Technology(0:41:49) - Medical Intuitive Work in Practice(0:42:25) - Lung Cancer Diagnosis Story(0:45:09) - Types of Sessions Offered(0:48:32) - Divine Timing vs Procrastination(0:52:00) - Meditation as Essential Practice(0:52:48) - Why We Incarnate➡️Subscribe to Ask Julie Ryan YouTube➡️Subscribe to Ask Julie Ryan Español YouTube➡️Subscribe to Ask Julie Ryan Português YouTube➡️Subscribe to Ask Julie Ryan Deutsch YouTube➡️Subscribe to Ask Julie Ryan Français YouTube✏️Ask Julie a Question!
