Some believers wish there were a tried and true formula for bringing someone to Christ. Memorize these verses, rehearse these statements. If they ask this, you say that. Well, preparation is good . . . but sometimes people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out the Holy Spirit is the One who draws people to Christ. Tom recounts his time running a country store near a Civil War battlefield in the early 2000s. While living in the trailer behind the store, Tom began to experience a series of strange and eerie events—crutches falling on their own, a radio mysteriously turning on, and waking up at 3:33 AM every night. But it was the night he woke up unable to breathe and saw a shadow move across his room that truly terrified him. As he reflects on these unsettling occurrences, Tom wonders if they're connected to an unexpected find while metal detecting near the old battlefield—a pristine Civil War officer's button. Could the spirit of a long-dead soldier be haunting his home? If you have a real ghost story or supernatural event to report, please write into our show or call 1-855-853-4802! In this kickoff live session for our new class on the Holy Spirit, I'm joined by Grace Ji-Sun Kim—author of the Homebrewed Christianity Guide to the Holy Spirit (and about 24 other spirit-focused books by her count!). We dive into some fascinating early questions about the nature of the spirit: Is it a person, principle, or energy? Grace reminds us that confusion is actually a good starting place, since certainty is where problems arise. We explore how her unique background—growing up Korean Presbyterian but exposed to Baptist, Pentecostal, and many other traditions—gave her a perspective that transcends denominational boundaries. Grace shares incredible stories about her unexpected adventure in Rome during the papal conclave (including jumping barriers to chase Pope Leo XIV!), reflecting on how the Spirit moves in ways that challenge patriarchal structures while still working within them. We discuss embodied spirituality, vibrations as divine creation, and how studying the Spirit has transformed Grace's own prayer life. Whether you're Presbyterian, Pentecostal, or somewhere in between, join us as we journey through this four-part exploration of the Holy Spirit leading up to Pentecost! “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” (Ephesians 6:18 NLT) All Christians experience times when we come face to face with overwhelming hardship. For Peter, it was witnessing the betrayal and arrest of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. You can find the story in John 18. Peter simply could not stomach the thought of the Lord’s enemies taking Him away. Frustrated and in despair, Peter drew his sword in defense of his Lord and cut off the ear of one of the men who arrested Jesus (see verse 10). Of course, that’s not what Jesus wanted. The sword was not the answer to salvation. Poor Peter. He was always doing the wrong thing at the wrong time. He was sleeping when he should have been praying. He was talking when he should have been listening. He was boasting when he should have been fearing. And he was fighting when he should have been surrendering. His instincts were 180 degrees off. Peter failed to see that he was fighting the wrong enemy. As the apostle Paul points out in Ephesians 6:12, our enemies are not of flesh and blood. They are principalities and powers, and they cannot be defeated by ordinary measures. Too often we, like Peter, forget that ours is a spiritual battle that requires spiritual weaponry. And we neglect the most powerful weapon in our arsenal—prayer. We are too quick to protest or picket and not quick enough to pray. In his description of the armor of God available to believers to withstand and counter the attacks of our enemy, Paul concludes with this: “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere” (Ephesians 6:18 NLT). Pray at all times. Be persistent. Prayer isn’t just an emergency button we push when we can’t think of anything else to do. It’s an essential communication channel that links us to God, our source of strength, courage, wisdom, comfort, and peace. God supplies us with everything we need for our spiritual battles. But we don’t have to wait until we’re in the thick of the fight to call on Him. Jesus faced opposition throughout His ministry. Passages such as Luke 5:16 give us a glimpse into how He prepared for battle. “But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer” (NLT). And when that opposition came to a head, Jesus headed for Gethsemane, a favorite prayer spot. The reality is that we all will face Gethsemanes in life. For Jesus, Gethsemane was a time of suffering and hardship, a time when He chose to surrender to the will of His Father. You, too, may face similar experiences in life that you don’t understand. You don’t know what lies ahead. But you can trust your unknown future into the hands of a known God. Reflection Question: How can you make your prayers more effective in your spiritual battles? Get on the waitlist for Functional Health Coaching HERE In this episode, I'm diving into the second part of our leadership reset — and this one gets personal. We're talking about how things like over-functioning, people-pleasing, and perfectionism often wear the mask of “great leadership”… but underneath, they're symptoms of chronic stress and a misaligned identity. I share how these patterns have shown up in my own life, how they can keep us stuck in survival mode, and how our physical bodies — not just our minds — are affected when we lead from fear, pressure, or people's expectations. We'll look at what it means to lead from a regulated nervous system and a Spirit-aligned soul. Because here's what I believe: your influence doesn't increase when you do more — it increases when you become more whole. This is your invitation to trade hustle for health, perfection for peace, and burnout for rooted, Spirit-led leadership. I hope this episode blesses you! What does God call us to do?In this episode of Revelations Podcast, host Reagan Kramer sits down with international evangelist Sammy Wanyonyi to explore how God is on the move, bringing healing, revival, and awakening across the globe and right here in Minnesota. Sammy shares testimonies from recent missions, including miraculous healing, a child raised from the dead, and prophetic insight about Minneapolis becoming a wellspring of spiritual awakening. This episode is a divine call to lean into God's heart for a revival that begins from the North and flows like the Mississippi into the nation.Cities across the United States — such as Minneapolis — experience a state of brokenness. Between financial inequality, despair, and confusion, it can feel as though the darkness is impermeable and unstoppable. But Jesus calls us to be a revival in today's world of despair. And as his light, there's an urgent question we must all ask: how can we bring God's love to all those around us?If you've been feeling weary, overwhelmed by darkness, or unsure how to respond to the brokenness around you, then it is time to pause and listen. Come into alignment with Heaven. Join the movement of healing, revival, and awakening that begins with surrender and flows outward like the Mississippi. You're not powerless. You are invited to evoke miraculous healing into the streets, into your home, into the dry places. Here are three reasons why you should listen to this episode:Gain firsthand stories of miraculous healing, deliverances, and even a child brought back to life.Understand how prophecy works in real life, and why it's an essential spiritual gift for today's church.Reflect on God's perspective for broken regions like Minneapolis and how He is preparing the global Church for revival.Become Part of Our Mission! Life-Changing Assessments: "The work that you're doing through these assessments is life-changing for people. It is difficult, but you are a lifeguard in this scenario." - Hattie HawksHattie Hawk steps into the hot seat, openly sharing her own EQ report—and together, she and Eric explore not only what her results reveal, but also how self-awareness, honesty, and the courage to confront personal challenges can lead to meaningful growth.Eric and Hattie break down the assessment's key components, from success factors like quality of life and well-being, to the core competencies that drive emotional intelligence. Hattie gets candid about her own journey, revealing how complex life events, personal struggles, and intentional self-reflection have shaped her emotional landscape. The conversation touches on the power of recognizing patterns, navigating emotions, and cultivating empathy—not just for others, but for ourselves.Whether you're curious about taking an EQ assessment yourself or simply looking for inspiration to face your own life's storms, this episode offers plenty of wisdom, encouragement, and practical strategies for building greater emotional resilience. How it's used: The EQ Assessment is designed to measure factors like competencies (e.g., pattern recognition, emotional literacy, and navigation of emotions) and success factors (effectiveness, relationships, well-being, and quality of life), with a debrief provided by a practitioner and often followed by ongoing coaching. Here are 3 key takeaways from the episode:Honest Self-Assessment Is Transformative - The value of an EQ assessment lies in being radically honest with yourself. As Hattie put it, “At the end of the day, you really only have to be honest with yourself to have a better life.” Growth really starts when you drop the facade and embrace your current reality with curiosity, not judgment.Leaning Into Your Strengths—And Weaknesses - It's natural to focus on your lowest scores, but there's power in acknowledging where you're already strong. Hattie gravitated to her high “quality of life” score, which reflected intentional work she'd been putting in. Both strengths and challenges offer essential clues for personal development.Building Emotional Muscles Is a Dynamic Process - Developing EQ is like building muscle—it happens over time, through consistent effort, resistance, and sometimes discomfort. The process isn't about achieving perfect scores, but about using insights to navigate challenges, improve relationships, and create more meaning in your life.In each episode, Jeff and Eric will talk about what emotional intelligence, or understanding your emotions, can do for you in your daily and work life. Today Daily Devotional

“You are the light of the world. . . . Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:14-16 When Jesus, by his Spirit, comes into our lives through faith, we undergo a transformation. Our spiritual life is changed as we become new creatures in Christ. As new creations, we transition from being self-serving to being self-giving. We radiate the light and life of Jesus wherever we go. In Matthew 5, Jesus uses two simple yet profound metaphors—light and salt—to illustrate this personal transformation and the new role we take on in our daily living. Light is life-giving. It brings warmth, energy, and clarity to any situation. When Jesus' power flows through us, we become a catalyst for positive change in our surroundings. This doesn't mean we are like the sun—generating light on our own. We are more like the moon, reflecting the light of Jesus so that others don't have to stumble in the darkness of this world. However, if we hide our light under a bowl, if we try to keep Jesus to ourselves, we make ourselves ineffective. And, worse, people will remain stuck in darkness, blinded by sin. For the sake of the world that Jesus came to save, we need to break out of our holy huddles and shine brightly for Jesus. Lord and Savior, thank you for shining your radiant light into our hearts and warming us with your love. Help us never to underestimate the impact we can have when we allow you to shine through us. Amen.

Natalie shares how a mission trip at age 12 sparked a lifelong passion for serving in Mexico, and how that radical “yes” turned into leading a nonprofit, The Aloe Family, that now spans across multiple countries. We chat about what it looks like to live a faith that's costly, full of sacrifice, and beautifully spirit-led—even when it's wildly different from the people around you. Plus, Natalie spills a little about life with her NFL husband and how they're figuring out marriage, ministry, and mission all at once. It's honest, fun, and full of practical encouragement for anyone asking: “What does it look like to radically follow Jesus right where I am?” Topics Discussed The Start of a Calling: Natalie shares how her heart for Mexico began with a mission trip and one little girl who changed everything. From Trips to Transformation: What began as a yearly visit became a lifelong mission to build bridges between cultures and create sustainable change. Life on the Move: We talk day-in-the-life in Mexico, Columbia, Nashville, and airports everywhere—and how the Spirit leads when you live out of a suitcase. The Aloe Family: Natalie breaks down what her nonprofit actually does, the programs they run, and how they stay rooted in people-first ministry. Radical Faith Looks Different: We dive into the tension of living a life that doesn't look like everyone else's—and why that's actually the beauty of following Jesus. Ministry + Marriage: Natalie opens up about life with her husband Anthony, an NFL player, and how they make two different worlds beautifully overlap. Boundaries & Burnout: How she protects her peace, prioritizes rest, and keeps her soul healthy in a demanding season. What Radical Faith Really Means: We close out with a powerful reflection on what it means to say “yes” to Jesus in the big and small, the easy and the scary. Thanks To Our Sponsors! TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible, where your host Hunter guides us through another enriching day in our year-long journey through Scripture. In this episode, we open our hearts and minds to an encounter with the living word of God, reading together from 1 Kings 7, 2 Chronicles 4, Psalm 98, and Romans 2. Today's readings take us inside the intricate details of Solomon's temple and palace, reflecting on the beauty and craftsmanship dedicated to honoring God. We celebrate God's steadfast love and victorious power in Psalm 98, and in Romans 2, we're challenged to examine our hearts, recognizing the need for transformation that only God's mercy and grace through Christ can bring. Hunter closes with heartfelt reflection and prayer, reminding us that true change begins with a new heart—one that is shaped by God's Spirit, not our efforts or pedigree. Join us as we press deeper into God's word and discover the power of living in His joy and love. TODAY'S DEVOTION: An unchanged heart is already judged and condemned. And if we're honest, we realize that we need a new heart. We are in need of God's mercy. The law and the conscience both tell us of this. And God's answer is to send his son, to come and meet us in our darkness. In love, he comes into the world, into the far country in pursuit of you. He comes for us. He comes for all of humanity. He comes on our behalf that he might taste death for all. But in his dying, he defeats death and the darkness and the grave, and he drags us with him out the other side into resurrection life. When we are drawn into God's life, we are born again, given a new heart that can trust and walk in relationship with God and be truly changed. This is the evidence that we are the true children of God. That relationship with God is based not on my piety or my pedigree, but on God's grace revealed to us in the person and the work of Christ himself. God has given us the answer to our need for a new heart, and it's his son. Let us live in the power of Christ, our Lord, the Son of God. Abiding in him, in his word, in his joy, and in his life. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Gracious and everlasting God, you have brought us through the shadow of night into the promise of a new day. You go before us with your mercy, sustain us by your grace, and keep us from wandering paths of fear or pride. Let every word we speak and every step we take be formed by the goodness of Christ. O Lord, gather your people far and near. May every tribe and tongue come to know your peace. Let justice roll like a river and healing flow where there has been division. Pour out your spirit upon all flesh, and bring us closer to the day when your kingdom comes in fullness. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. And now as our Lord has taught us, we are bold to pray. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen. Welcome to Day 2634 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Day 2634 – New Testament Orientation – The Jesus of History Putnam Church Message – 05/18/2025 Sermon Series: New Testament Orientation Message 4: The Jesus of History   Last week, we returned to the intertestamental period between the Old and New Testaments and explored The Culture and Cosmology of the Intertestamental Period. Our core verses for last week were Galatians 3:26-29. Verse 28 summarizes the message. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.  Today, we will explore how Jesus appears in history outside the Bible. Our core verses for today are: Matthew 25:31-36  “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.' (Opening Prayer) Heavenly Father, we gather once more, our hearts open to the enduring story of Jesus of Nazareth. We seek not just to remember him, but to truly understand him within the tapestry of his time. Expand our minds and hearts, Lord, as we delve deeper into the historical realities that shaped his earthly journey. May your Spirit illuminate the path of the Jesus of history, revealing the profound significance of his life for our faith today. It is in Jesus' name we pray, Amen. The Jesus of History (From the Perspective of Ancient Israelites and Early Christians): For generations, the whispers of the prophets had echoed in the synagogues and homes, foretelling the coming of the Messiah, the Anointed One who would restore the fortunes of Israel. They clung tightly to these promises during times of both fleeting autonomy and prolonged subjugation under foreign powers. The anticipation was a constant hum beneath the surface of the Israelites daily lives, a yearning for the promised deliverer. Yet, when Jesus of Nazareth finally appeared, his presence and his message often defied the very expectations they had nurtured for centuries. (Connecting to Current Context): Consider the anticipation surrounding a significant historical event or the arrival of a long-awaited leader. We often build up a mental image, a set of expectations based on news, past experiences, and our own desires. Think of the fervor surrounding a new era, a revolutionary movement, or the promise of a technological breakthrough. We imagine a specific outcome, a particular way in which the change will manifest. When the reality unfolds, it can sometimes be surprising, even challenging, to reconcile our...

“Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Ephesians 6:17 NLT) During the Korean War, a unit known as Baker Company was separated from its regiment, and enemy forces were advancing on it. For several hours, no word came from Baker Company. Finally, radio contact was made. When asked for a report of its situation, Baker Company replied, “The enemy is to the east of us. The enemy is to the west of us. The enemy is to the south of us. The enemy is to the north of us.” Then, after a brief pause, the voice continued, “And this time, we’re not going to let them escape.” Sometimes it seems that way in the life of a believer. The enemy is at every turn. Even so, some believers don’t realize that the Christian life is not a playground, but a battleground. They are oblivious to the fact that a war is raging—and that, in this war, they are either winning or losing. In a battle, it’s always better to be an aggressor instead of a defender. A defender is simply waiting for the enemy’s next attack, hoping he will survive. If we, as believers, are always defending, then the devil is in a superior position. If, on the other hand, we are the ones who are attacking, then we are in the superior position. When the apostle Paul wrote about the armor of God in Ephesians 6, he mentioned one offensive weapon: “The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (verse 17 NLT). Make no mistake about it: There is authority and power in the Word of God. Matthew 4:1–11 tells the story of Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness. Three times the devil tried to get Jesus to do wrong. All three times Jesus countered his attack by quoting the Word of God. The result? “The devil went away” (verse 11 NLT). God’s Word keeps Satan from getting an advantageous battle position in our lives as well. For example, let’s say you’re feeling tempted to do something that you know is wrong. If your first instinct is to turn to 1 Corinthians 10:13 (“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure” NLT), you’ll remember that God stands ready to strengthen you and help you escape. And you’ll have the high ground in your battle with the devil. He will have no solid footing for his attack. That’s how you keep him off-balance: by immersing yourself in Scripture. The devil has nothing in his arsenal that can counter the Bible. God’s Word sticks. God’s Word breaks through. God’s Word impacts. When the enemy has you surrounded, keep him on the defensive with the Word of God. Reflection Question: How can you sharpen your spiritual battle skills using the Word of God? Get on the waitlist for Functional Health Coaching HERE In this episode, I'm challenging one of the biggest lies we've believed about leadership — that our value comes from how much we produce, how busy we stay, or how available we are to everyone else. If you've ever felt like your leadership is being measured by your output instead of your impact, you are not alone. I've lived it — juggling tasks, striving for approval, and believing that burnout was just the cost of leading well. But I've learned (and am still learning) that this is not God's design for leadership. In this first part of a two-part series, I'll share what it looks like to shift from hustle-driven leadership to influence-driven leadership — the kind modeled by Jesus. I'll walk you through the lies we often believe, the biblical leadership patterns we can actually follow, and practical ways to lead from presence, purpose, and peace. Let's trade productivity for presence. Let's lead from overflow instead of over-functioning. And let's remember: we don't have to prove our leadership. We just have to be aligned with the One who called us to it.   I hope this episode blesses you! He shares how mentorship, tough love, a sense of responsibility, and unwavering honesty have fueled his legacy—prompting us all to step up, stop making excuses, and love with conviction. Whether you're searching for inspiration, seeking actionable leadership insights, or grappling with challenges of your own, this conversation will leave you empowered and ready to tackle whatever comes next. What We Discuss in This Episode How did Stoney overcome significant physical limitations to become a martial arts grandmaster and mentor to champions? What role did family and “tough love” play in shaping his unstoppable mindset? How do you guide others—especially young people—out of victimhood and toward responsibility and growth? What does it mean to “not own” your challenges or diagnoses? How can leaders and mentors balance empathy with calling others to greatness? Why is authenticity and emotional expression crucial for true leadership? What does it look like to surrender to purpose and let go of micromanaging your life's plan? How do faith and spirituality underpin resilience and transformation? What lasting advice does Stoney offer for living a meaningful, impactful life? 10 Key Takeaways Lead by Example: Young people and mentees learn most from who you are and what you do—not just what you say or teach. Tough Love Builds Resilience: Support combined with high expectations (“spanking grandma”) pushes us to unprecedented growth. Refuse to “Own” Limitations: Don't take on negative identities around illness or labels—claim victory and move forward. Surround Yourself with Greatness: Your environment and your circle shape your possibilities and determination. Your Challenges Are Your Strength: Facing adversity builds the grit and wisdom necessary to help others. Balance Compassion and Accountability: True mentors love fiercely AND hold people to a higher standard. Embrace Vulnerability: Emotional honesty and caring openly are strengths, not weaknesses, for leaders. Purpose Over Perfection: Focus on finding and fulfilling your unique design rather than achieving flawlessness. Take Responsibility: We must model and teach personal responsibility; excuses perpetuate victimhood and stagnation. Keep Growing and Giving: Growth is a lifelong journey—keep learning, serving, and evolving no matter your stage or circumstances. I love who I am, where I am, and why I am." — Lawrence Stone "If I don't believe in me, how can I expect someone else to believe in me? Can we metabolize our pain to create an entry point into liberation? How can spirituality support us in this process? This week, Thomas sits down with Buddhist minister, author, and activist Lama Rod Owens to share visions for collective liberation, the importance of reconnecting with Indigenous worldviews, sacred ecology, and unseen worlds, and strategies to overcome hopelessness and despair as we work to dismantle harmful systems. They explore the intersection of individual and collective trauma, the connection between spiritual awakening and social justice, and the importance of meeting suffering and discomfort with kindness and presence instead of bypassing it for short-term relief. It's a wide-ranging and inspiring conversation that bridges the mystical and the practical, and we hope you'll tune in. Click here to watch the video version of this episode on YouTube:

At the end of many of these groups, my only thought is that the beauty of the writings of the fathers is exquisite. Often when reading them one is both pierced to the heart, but also raised up and consoled. This is surprisingly so in this hypothesis on contrition. None of the fathers' writings appear to be an abstraction, but rather their words reverberate with the pain and the love of those who experienced the struggle with sin.  One comes to know not only the weight and burden of sin, but a kind of otherworldly darkness to which it drags the soul. A soul begins to understand how the demons act as accusers; seeking to cast it down into the depths of despair after having coaxed it into sin. There are two kinds of contrition with which we must become familiar. The first is rooted in fear; the acknowledgment of the coming judgment and the consequences of turning away from God. The soul becomes painfully aware of what it is to turn away from He who is light and life. The second kind of contrition, however, arises out of desire for the kingdom. Once a soul has tasted the sweetness of God‘s compassion they weep tears over any way that they turn from the depths of that Love. That are hearts would be watered with this kind of contrition is an extraordinary gift! To see contrition as a gift is admittedly difficult. Yet in reading the fathers one comes to see that it is not only the prerequisite for the spiritual life, but also the path that opens one up to the deepest consolation. To see ourselves as we truly are, to stand in the light of the truth, may be extremely painful, but that light comes from the Physician of souls, who in the very act of revealing our sins removes them. It is then with freedom that the soul can entrust itself to God to chastise it; knowing that “a broken and contrite heart the Lord will not scorn”.  Every breath becomes a groan; a cry of love that is united to the groan of the Spirit that dwells within the human heart. The humbled soul is then elevated, exalted, to God who embraces his prodigal child and rejoices. This bitter path then is the path to true joy. And taking it, the soul loses interest in anything else around him; most of all the actions of others or their sins. He will judge no man, knowing that he himself will soon stand before the Judge of all. Imagine hearts that take up the burden of their own sins, that do not say so much as a word on their own behalf and that confess what they have done and accept that whatever comes to them is just and fitting for it comes from the hand of the Lord! Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. --- Text of chat during the group: 00:13:35 Myles Davidson: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/9068317091?ref_=mr_referred_us_au_nz 00:18:08 Anthony: I knew it! And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works. 24 But to the rest of you in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not learned what some call the deep things of Satan, to you I say, I do not lay on you any other burden. 25 Only hold fast what you have until I come. 26 The one who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations, 27 and he will rule[a] them with a rod of iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I myself have received authority from my Father. 28 And I will give him the morning star. 29 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'Footnotesa. After the emperor and his consort died in the early 20th century, the Meiji Jingu shrine was built to memorialize them.
