In this deeply reflective and expansive conversation, Darin sits down with poet, speaker, and consciousness explorer Adam Roa for a raw dialogue on creativity, stillness, identity, and the courage it takes to live from integrity instead of performance. From viral art and the pressure of platforms to darkness retreats, emotional sovereignty, and redefining success, this episode explores what it really means to listen inwardly in a world addicted to noise. This is not a conversation about answers. It's a conversation about asking better questions and trusting the quiet moments where truth lives.     What You'll Learn in This Episode How art and creativity act as accelerators for human consciousness Why stepping back from visibility can be an act of integrity, not avoidance The emotional cost of constant output and public expectation What happens when identity dissolves and certainty disappears Why stillness, darkness, and solitude reveal what discipline cannot How to rebuild meaning when old belief systems fall apart The difference between inspired expression and Three appellate judges heard oral arguments today in Charlie Adelson's bid to overturn his conviction in the murder-for-hire of Dan Markel. Adelson, currently serving life in a South Dakota prison, was not present as his attorneys argued he was denied a fair trial due to nearly a decade of pretrial publicity in Tallahassee. Defense attorney Michael Ufferman told Florida's First District Court of Appeal that 53 of 54 prospective jurors who formed an opinion believed Adelson was guilty before the trial began. He cited jurors discussing the case in violation of court orders and argued the entire panel should have been struck. The state countered that Adelson accepted the jury without objection and never filed a formal change of venue motion. Assistant Attorney General Robert Charles Lee delivered the prosecution's sharpest argument: Adelson is entitled to an impartial jury, not an impartial community. He maintained that any Florida jury would have convicted based on the evidence. The judges pressed both sides with pointed questions but did not indicate when a ruling would come. Adelson was convicted in November 2023 for orchestrating the 2014 murder of his former brother-in-law, an FSU law professor who was shot in his garage after a custody dispute. His mother Donna Adelson, convicted in September 2025, also has an appeal pending. Both are fighting their convictions from separate prisons.#CharlieAdelson #DanMarkel #AdelsonAppeal #TrueCrimeToday #MurderForHire #DonnaAdelson #FloridaCrime #AdelsonCase #TallahasseeMurder #MarkelCaseJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? EVEN MORE about this episode! What happens when a hardcore skeptic dies—and comes back changed forever? In this unforgettable episode of the Ask Julie Ryan Show, Julie Ryan sits down with Dr. Lotte Valentin, whose dramatic near-death experience shattered her lifelong disbelief in anything spiritual. After hemorrhaging following childbirth, Lotte—an atheist programmer from Sweden—found herself floating above her body in an emergency room, immersed in unconditional love, surrounded by angels, and shown a luminous grid revealing that everything is connected. With no spiritual framework to explain what happened, Lotte was terrified to share her experience, fearing she'd be dismissed or institutionalized. But the spirit world didn't stop at revelation—it gave her a mission. She was told to go to medical school, write books, and bring healing messages to others. At age 54, she followed that guidance exactly, completing her prerequisites from scratch and entering medical school, ultimately merging Western medicine with medical intuition, ancestral healing, and mediumship. This powerful conversation explores near-death experiences, divine timing, and why science and spirituality aren't opposites—but reflections of the same truth. Filled with validation, courage, and hope, this episode is a must-watch for anyone who's ever wondered whether there's more to life than what we can see.Guest Biography:Dr. Lotte Valentin is an N.M.D., author, evidential psychic and medical medium, ancestral healer, and internationally recognized keynote speaker known for bridging science and soul. Often described as an oracle, she moves effortlessly through the realms of mystic, prophet, and seer. Her award-winning book Med School After Menopause: The Journey of My Soul earned 1st place in Spiritual Leadership from the Living Now Book Awards for its powerful message of transformation, healing, and spirituality. Following two near-death out-of-body experiences that awakened her clairvoyant, clairaudient, and clairsentient abilities, Dr. Lotte was guided to pursue medicine—completing her prerequisites and entering medical school at age 54—while also serving as an evidential medium and teacher. She has created Ancestral Healing Journeys in collaboration with Hemi-Sync, teaches with leading spiritual organizations worldwide, and frequently speaks on near-death experiences and medical intuition. In this episode of Do The Work | Mindset Mastery, I open up about something I wrestle with constantly and that is the tension between pressure and gratitude. Running a business, leading a household, being a husband and a father all come with responsibility. That responsibility can quietly turn into suffering if I am not careful about where my mind goes. I talk about how easy it is to get trapped in comparison, future goals, past mistakes, and the weight of everything I think I should be doing. My mind moves fast. Too fast at times. When I let it run unchecked, it creates pressure that feels overwhelming. Not because life is bad, but because I stop being present. I stop checking myself. I forget how far I have come. Marriage and family play a big role in this conversation. What people see from the outside is never the full picture. Carla and I carry a lot together. We take on the challenges of running a large operation, supporting agents, and navigating life as partners. Sometimes the stress leaks into the home. Sometimes we say things we do not mean. I have learned that the real suffering does not come from the situation itself but from holding onto anger, shame, and resentment instead of processing it and moving forward. I share honestly that positivity does not come naturally to me. It is something I work at every day. I wake up and my mind wants to go negative. So I fight back with intention. I listen to books and podcasts focused on awareness and discipline. I move my body. I create space to slow my thoughts down. These practices help but even then it is easy to forget to check the thermometer and realize I am overheating mentally. One moment that stopped me in my tracks came from listening to a story on a podcast while cleaning my car. A forest ranger survived being crushed under a fallen tree in the rainforest. After hours trapped under rubble she survived with barely a scratch. The next morning she was lying in a hammock saying one simple phrase over and over. I am alive. Hearing that broke me open. That moment pulled me back to being seventeen years old after weeks in the hospital not knowing if I would live. I remember driving home and seeing the world differently. The sky was brighter. Everything felt beautiful. I was overwhelmed with gratitude just to be here. I was alive. Somewhere along the way I forgot how powerful that realization is. I reflect on how easy it is to move from praying for a life to rushing through it once you have it. I remind myself that everything I have today was once a prayer. The suffering I create now is unnecessary. It comes from living in the past or racing into the future instead of standing firmly in the present. The solution is not complicated but it does require honesty and action. Be here. Tell your spouse you love them. Tell your kids how proud you are. Call your parents. Look in the mirror and say you are proud of yourself. When I focus on what I can do right now everything else eventually takes care of itself. Life is good right now. The work is learning how to believe that and live from it. Reader Reflection Questions Where has your mind been spending most of its time lately in the past the future or the present What parts of your life were once prayers that you may now be overlooking What is one small action you can take today to be more present with the people who matter most Notable Quotes I do not know if I am okay but I am alive Worry and anxiety are caused by too much focus on the future while guilt regret and resentment come from dwelling in the past Everything I have today was once a prayer Follow A.Z. Read OnlineWith many such parables he spoke the word to them as they were able to understand it. Without parables he did not speak to them, but to his own disciples he explained everything in private. Mark 4:33–34Today's Gospel begins with two parables about the Kingdom of God, using the familiar image of seeds. Both of these parables point to the Kingdom of God as something that grows mysteriously and abundantly, often beyond human understanding or control. The first parable points to the mysterious growth of the seed that the sower scatters on his fields: “and would sleep and rise night and day and the seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how” (Mark 4:27). This emphasizes the hidden and gradual work of God's grace. Like the seed that grows in the soil without the sower fully comprehending how, the Kingdom of God grows quietly and powerfully, primarily through divine initiative. The second parable is about the mustard seed, the smallest of seeds, which, when planted, “springs up and becomes the largest of plants and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the sky can dwell in its shade” (Mark 4:32). This parable reveals the transformative power of the Kingdom, which begins from the humblest beginnings but grows into something expansive and life-giving. God often works through what appears insignificant to accomplish great things.Though these parables are important and provide us with spiritual nourishment through prayerful reflection, what the Gospel writer says next, as is quoted above, is just as important. Parables were meant to draw the listener into divine mysteries. We have to ponder the message prayerfully and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal God's Word to us. Because Jesus spoke only in parables to the crowds, we must see ourselves among their number. However, we must also work to be counted among Jesus' own disciples: “to his own disciples he explained everything in private.”God's Word is alive. The Scriptures are not only like an ancient philosophy book that requires study and interpretation, which certainly play a proper role in understanding the Word of God. However, because God's Word is a Living Word, it is more than an intellectual exercise. When we read it or hear it proclaimed, God is present. It is God Himself Who speaks to minds and hearts that are open and attentive. When we approach God's Word in this way, God will “explain everything in private.”“Private,” in this case, means “personal.” Engaging God's Word draws us into a personal conversation with Him. It enables God to speak to us directly, revealing Himself in His Word, filling us with the spiritual gifts of Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, and Counsel. These Gifts of the Spirit are essential to our spiritual growth and are the primary way to grow in faith, hope, and charity.Do you see the Word of God as the Living Word, inviting you into a personal dialogue with God? Consider the depth of the invitation extended to you in this Gospel passage. Jesus desires to speak to you “in private,” unveiling the mysteries of His Kingdom in a way that is deeply personal and uniquely suited to your personal journey.Reflect today on how you approach the Word of God in your daily life. Take time to prayerfully ponder the parables and their meaning in your life. Consider setting aside a specific moment each day to read and meditate on a short passage from Scripture. Allow God to sow the seed of His Word in your heart and, like the farmer, marvel in wonder and awe as the Kingdom takes root and grows in your life. Trust that even the smallest acts of faith, like the mustard seed, can grow into something extraordinary when authentic and nurtured by God's grace. Open your heart to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit, asking for Wisdom to discern God's voice, Knowledge to understand His will, Understanding to grasp the depths of His truth, and Counsel to act upon His Word. My Lord and intimate God, You desire to speak to me day and night, revealing the mysteries of Your Kingdom and communicating to me Your Living Word. Open my mind and heart to all You wish to reveal, so that, through Your Word, Your Kingdom may take root in my heart and bear abundant fruit. What makes an investment "good?" It seems like a straightforward question, but the answer is more subjective than most people realize.  Recently, my wife asked why I thought real estate was such a BAD investment when others she knows call it the BEST they've ever made.  Hearing it framed that way struck a different chord. And rather than quickly defending my position with data and facts, I found myself reconsidering the question entirely. In today's episode, I share how to evaluate investments in the real world, what separates good investments from bad ones, and why some popular metrics can mislead. If you've ever wondered why an investment looks great paper but doesn't feel right—or why others swear by strategies you'd never touch—this episode will give you a clearer framework for thinking about your own portfolio. ***

The Jesse Butler case is far from over. The 18-year-old Stillwater, Oklahoma teen pled no contest to 11 felonies — including attempted rape, strangulation, and violating a protective order — and received no prison time under youthful offender status. But now attorney Rachel Bussett has filed a motion arguing the entire plea was legally void from the beginning.According to court filings, the victims were never properly consulted. Critical orders were entered without required signatures. One victim was having surgery the day youthful offender status was granted — she had no idea it was happening. The DA allegedly met with a minor victim without her parent or attorney present, told her about the plea deal, and then instructed her not to tell her mother.Bussett's argument is unprecedented in Oklahoma: if the procedural requirements weren't followed, the plea itself is void ab initio — void from the start. That means Butler's due process argument collapses, and the case could be reset for adult prosecution.February 3rd, 2026 is the preliminary hearing to determine what this challenge looks like. Meanwhile, a federal lawsuit has been filed against Stillwater Public Schools, Principal Walter Howell, school resource officer Paul Blankinship, and Butler's parents — including Mack Butler, the former Oklahoma State football operations director who was working as the school district's assistant athletic director during the alleged assaults.Jesse Butler turns 19 in August.
