In fact, one big name in the industry is projecting that 2024 will mark the “golden age” for homebuilding, thanks to falling mortgage rates and frozen existing home supply, among other factors. David O'Reilly, CEO of megalith developer Howard Hughes Corp., told CNBC last week, “We're going to have the golden age of new home construction” in 2024, even calling the new home market “extraordinary” in its current form. Today's pick is from Co-Host Laura Wenus.  Drug users and dealers are being arrested in unusually high numbers in San Francisco's troubled Tenderloin neighborhood amid a spike in overdose deaths and complaints about street conditions. It's just the latest in a series of enforcement pushes, and this time, state agencies are involved. But even within the city's own government, this is a deeply controversial strategy. And, as City Hall reporter Aldo Toledo and data reporter Susie Neilson tell Laura Wenus, neighborhood denizens are not yet seeing the desired results. | Unlimited Chronicle access: sfchronicle.com/pod Got a tip, comment, question? People gotta eat. And for some time now, since pandemic days, that need has been trending towards at home eating—via cooking, meal kits, and grab and go items. According to recent research from FMI, deli prepared foods sales are up 9.3% year over year and 19.2% from the pre-pandemic 2019 period. That same research also indicates that 21% of polled shoppers say they prepare seven or more dinners at home per week, up from 16% in 2021, which includes food made at home, semi- or fully prepared items and leftovers. Meal kits have also been in demand. Supermarket delis have seen a spike in meal kit sales since the early days of the pandemic, and now recent data from Statista indicates that the U.S. market will exceed more than $10 billion by 2024, compared to just $6.9 billion in 2021. All this to say: People are cooking and eating at home. Supermarket News tuned in with our sister publication Nation’s Restaurant News to see what restaurateurs make of the trend towards eating at home, as well as what’s doing in food service at retail. Are you constantly changing yourself to try and adjust to other people's values? When you sacrifice your core values for other people, this will often lead to burnout.  Recovering from burnout requires you to set limits for your life that will keep you safe and healthy. By pushing perfectionism just to make other people happy, you risk burning out. Focus on your own core beliefs and do what you need to do to support yourself instead of constantly focusing on others. You have intrinsic value and deserve a life where you are protected from burnout.  Tune into this week's #straightfromcait episode for a wrap-up of Season 4. Learn to stop criticizing coping mechanisms that your body created to protect you, stop sacrificing your core values for others, and build healthy boundaries to keep yourself safe.  Quotes • “I am here to celebrate the best parts of you and remind you how great you are whether you're freshly burnt out and it is your first time here or you're long time recovered and you're just here to keep up.” (2:01-2:12) • “There is a platinum rule when you are working with a FRIED. Burnout Coach: there will be no demonizing of your behaviors, coping mechanisms, or habits. Yes, even the shitty ones. There are usually reasons that you behave in one way or another and most of the time behaviors that you engage in at some point had a positive intention or effect, or they were created without attention and intention as a result of someone else's behavior when you were a child. What we do focus on is the fact that some of these behaviors leave you vulnerable to burnout, especially if you're in shitty or toxic environments, whether those be work or home.” (2:20-3:14)  • “Where do you want to apply your perfectionism and where can you let it go because it's based on someone else's standards or values that don't match your own?” (5:14-5:22)  • “That's how we #endburnoutculture. When we all return to our core values over and over and over again.” (5:53-6:01) • “You are not broken. You have power. You have power to utilize your gifts in a way that is supportive and useful for you and others. The parts of you that you judge have gold nuggets in them. Burnout recovery does not require that you fundamentally change who you are, but rather become more of who you are within limits that you set for yourself to keep you safe, healthy, and protected.” (6:56-7:23)  • “You have so much to offer simply by existing. You just might need to allow the rules of the game to shift a little instead of constantly trying to change yourself.” (8:12-8:24) Links  https://caitdonovan.com https://friedtheburnoutpodcast.com XOXO, C If you know that it's time to actually DO something about the burnout cycle you've been in for too long - book your free consult today: bit.ly/callcait https://friedtheburnoutpodcast.com/quiz Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm Learn more about your ad choices. But if you're reading this thinking “what actually is it?” and “what are its consequences?” you're in luck.Bitcoin mining is like OG mining – coal and that – but online. The process has similarities: you have to get equipment (an ASIC miner computer, very good WiFi, electricity, some fans, maybe) and then you use a lot of energy completing a task of sorts, which generates fresh new bitcoin.Sure, it isn't going down the mines and chipping out coal, but it is rapidly solving a complex puzzle. It's kind of like a game of guess the number, but said number is between 0 and 64 digits (for context, a billion is a nine digit number). However, it also isn't just a number as we typically think of it. It's a hexadecimal number.https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/11/cryptocurrency-theft-hackers-steal-600-million-in-poly-network-hack.htmlHackers start to return some of the $600 million they stole in one of the biggest crypto heistsMore than $600 million was stolen in what is likely to be one of the biggest cryptocurrency thefts ever.Hackers exploited a vulnerability in Poly Network, a platform that looks to connect different blockchains so that they can work together. In a strange turn of events Wednesday, the hackers began returning some of the funds they stole.https://wealthgang.com/ways-to-earn-free-bitcoin/4 Ways To Earn Free Bitcoin Without Any HassleWhether or not you want to invest your hard earned money into Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, the fact remains that having some exposure in crypto is now part of a well-rounded investment strategy. And you need to get on the rocket ship.https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/10/what-is-the-tax-gap-infrastructure-plan.htmlThe White House says closing the ‘tax gap' will help pay for the $1 trillion infrastructure bill—here's what that meansThe $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill passed the Senate on Tuesday with a 69-30 vote, promising to pour $550 billion into the nation's crumbling bridges and roads, as well as into airports and electric vehicle infrastructure. The White House has proposed several financing sources for the spending, one of which is providing the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) with nearly $80 billion so that it can close the so-called “tax gap.” Provisions within the Biden administration's fiscal 2022 budget would help bulk up the service if they are supported by lawmakers. https://alternative.me/crypto/fear-and-greed-index/https://coinmarketcap.com/Please subscribe, like, and share so that more and more people can view this content.DISCLAIMER: I will never give any financial advice.
