This week Val and Rachel discuss the pilot of Herman's Head, an American sitcom that aired on the Fox network from September 8, 1991 until April 21, 1994. The series was created by Andy Guerdat and Steve Kreinberg, and produced by Witt/Thomas Productions in association with Touchstone Television. William Ragsdale stars as the title character, Herman Brooks. Herman's thought processes are dramatized in a "Greek chorus"-style interpretation, with four characters representing different aspects of his personality (played by Molly Hagan, Ken Hudson Campbell, Rick Lawless and Peter MacKenzie). Hot topics include: 1.) We pop our cherry with our first FOX show, and discuss the differences between FOX and the other networks (ie: FOX is dirt-ay!!!!) 2.) What emotions might there be in Val and Rachel's heads? 3.) Rachel's Acting Retirement Plan Revealed 4.) These two horndogs drool over Evan Peters and Alan Rickman. 5.) Part two of the WTWF look at Beatles film projects, both real and imaginary. Queen of all Beatles media Kit O'Toole and Antony Rotunno return as we travel through "Shades of a Personality", "Up Against It", "Lord of the Rings" and "Herman's Head" (one of these things is not like the others...). We close with some of our own thoughts what might have made a good third film for the Fab Four given their interests and acting abilities.
David Landsberg was one of those rare comedic minds who worked as an actor, screenwriter and producer. Sadly, he has passed away since his interview was recorded but don’t let that stop you from enjoying the life story of this supremely talented comedy mind. He appeared opposite Don Rickles in the comedy TV series CPO Sharkey and wrote and produced episodes of the CBS sitcom, Cosby! He also wrote and/or produced episodes of Blossom, Star Trek:The Next Generation, Herman's Head, Fantasy Island, The New Love Boat, The John Larroquette Show and co-created a 1994 sitcom called Daddy's Girls, starring Dudley Moore, Harvey Fierstein and Keri Russell. On the big screen, he was seen in Coming Attraction with Bill Murray, Love at First Bite starring George Hamilton, Skatetown, U.S.A. with Patrick Swayze, The Jerk with Steve Martin and Shoot the Moon starring Albert Finney and Diane Keaton. He and Lorin Dreyfuss, older brother of Oscar-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss, co-wrote and co-starred in the hilarious comedy, Detective School Dropouts. Say it Forward with the late David Landsberg.

Looks Unfamiliar is a podcast in which writer and occasional broadcaster Tim Worthington talks to a guest about some of the things that they remember that nobody else ever seems to. Joining Tim this time is journalist Emma Burnell, who's going to the polls with her hazy memories of The Royal Potwasher, Melody Radio, Channel 4's presentation of Accidental Death Of An Anarchist, A Woman In Her Own Right by Anne Dixon, The Lords Of Midnight and Herman's Head. Along the way we'll be finding out what happens when you continually ask a radio station that doesn't have Ghostbusters to play Ghostbusters, what BBC Test Card F has to tell us about Second Wave Feminism, what Channel 4's 'Red Triangle' meant to adolescent boys and girls respectively, and why we're all sick of the sight of The Utarg Of Utarg. You can find more editions of Looks Unfamiliar at http://timworthington.org/
We're telling stories. In her piece for the podcast, No Regrets, Molly Hagan writes very honestly about her own decision Not to become a mom, and the surprising realization she had about her own mother. A woman she loved but pitied for having been “stuck” mothering 7 children. Molly Hagan has amassed an extensive resume as an actor over the past 35 years. Molly recurs on Jane the Virgin, iZombie, the upcoming Apple TV Are you Sleeping with Octavia Spencer, and a new Netflix series No Good Nick, premiering in spring 2019. Molly Hagan has been making a splash in film since Some Kind of Wonderful. But you also know her from Ringmaster, Election and Sully. And some of her favorite television gigs include: The Nutt House, Herman's Head, and Unfabulous. The Interactive movie The Garage Sale marked Molly’s debut as a writer/producer. Molly can be found at www.mollyhagan.com or on Twitter @mollyhagan, struggling with photography on Instagram @molly7hagan, and completely MIA @TheMollyHagan on Facebook. If it's not 1 Thing, explores the topic of 'mother' from every angle imaginable and some you have not thought of. Each week, hosts Katie Mitchell and Lupe Padilla Mitchell share a new story and have great conversations with the writers, many of whom are in fact not writers by trade. Put on your passive aggressive hats, Reis-guys and Reis-gals! Russ and Jon finally made time in their busy schedules to watch "Bedfellows", the third episode of Mad About You's second season. Very nice of them. They finally meet Paul's mom! It really messes with their minds! They also talk too much about the finer points of Herman's Head, the hierarchy of Calvin Klein, and the classy practice of gerbiling. If you'd listen, that would be nice. But if you can't, that's okay, too. You're very important.
Aaron, Dan and Matt travel to Lake Winnipesaukee revisit the somewhat forgotten Bill Murray movie What About Bob? (also starring Richard Dreyfuss and Julie Hagerty of Airplane fame). Plus, a look back to the show Herman's Head, starring William Ragsdale and Hank Azaria, and featuring a cameo by a pre-Friends Jennifer Aniston. For more, visit www.thethrowbackshow.com.

In this episode, I laugh my ass off and learn a lot chatting with writer/comedians Cheryl Holliday and Laurie Kilmartin. They are two of the funniest ladies you will meet. Cheryl and Laurie first met working as road comics together and both have now made the transition to successful TV writer. Cheryl is an Emmy winning writer whose TV credits include: "King Of The Hill," "Herman's Head," "Martin," "Mike And Molly," "Kung Fu Panda," and "Norm," just to name a few. Laurie is an Emmy nominated writer whose TV credits include: "Conan," "The Bonnie Hunt Show," "The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson" and "Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn." She was also a finalist on "Last Comic Standing" and her book “Sh*tty Mom” was on the NYT bestsellers list. We talk about everything from a Tribble Run to doing voices for "King Of The Hill" to performing standup in a mining town. CHERYL HOLLIDAY'S BIO Cheryl Holliday is a writer who has lived a life of constant regret, ladled over self-loathing, and sauteed in tears of bitterness. Like the appendix, she serves no real purpose. Bios are bullshit. I like ginger snaps. Is anyone still reading this? LAURIE KILMARTIN'S BIO Laurie Kilmartin is an Emmy-nominated writer for CONAN on TBS. As a standup, she was a Top Ten finalist on Last Comic Standing, and has appeared on "Conan," "Jimmy Kimmel," Showtime and Comedy Central. She is the co-author of “Sh*tty Mom” a New York Times and LA Times bestseller.
William Ragsdale, Gary Hawkins on FX's new series, "Justified," will be making an appearance on BuzzWorthy Radio! After attending Hendrix College where he appeared in plays with Sling Blade actress and fellow Arkansan Natalie Canerday, he gained attention as the young hero of Fright Night and Fright Night II, a series of humorous vampire films co-starring Roddy McDowall. He also performed in theatre productions of Neil Simon plays Biloxi Blues[3] and Brighton Beach Memoirs. Ragsdale has had a sporadic career on prime-time television. He starred for three years in the Fox Network sitcom Herman's Head. He had a brief recurring role in Judging Amy as the obnoxious son of Richard Crenna's character. He played a TV producer on Grosse Pointe, which lasted one season. He was cast in the pilot for Charmed, but turned down the series to star in the short-lived sitcom Brother's Keeper. He appeared on Ellen as a boyfriend of the character Ellen Morgan (Ellen DeGeneres), before Morgan (and DeGeneres herself) came out of "the closet" as a lesbian. He played bit roles in numerous movies and television series, including a four-episode stint on Less Than Perfect. Oddly enough, he lost movie roles in both Glory and Biloxi Blues to Matthew Broderick, but did work with Broderick in the 2009 film Wonderful World.
