Join Cheryl Lee - That Radio Chick on STILL ROCKIN' IT for news, reviews, music and interviews with some of our favourite Australian musicians.Australian rock legend Ross Wilson opens up in this fascinating backstage conversation just moments before taking the stage on his record-breaking "50 Years of Hits" tour. With the tour expanding to over 150 shows, this marks the most extensive touring schedule of his 60-year career—proving that retirement isn't in his vocabulary. From humble beginnings in Melbourne church choirs to forming iconic bands, Ross shares the pivotal moments that shaped his extraordinary journey. He reveals how Daddy Cool emerged from his experimental band Sons of the Vegetal Mother, becoming the surprise hit of the 1971 Myponga Festival before they'd even released a record. Their pioneering music video for "Eagle Rock," filmed at this festival, helped propel them to nationwide success—years before MTV made music videos essential.Beyond his performing career, Ross offers insights into his work as a producer, including discovering and producing Skyhooks, whose success eventually surpassed Daddy Cool's record-breaking sales. Though selective about production work, his golden touch extended to working with Jo Jo Zep and The Falcons, The Screaming Jets, and writing hits for other artists—including "Touch of Paradise" for John Farnham and "I Come In Peace" for Joe Cocker's final recording. The conversation takes unexpected turns through Ross's television appearances, his induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame (twice!), and the peculiar pants-dropping tradition that accompanies "Eagle Rock" at weddings and parties across Australia, revealing plans for attempting a world-record charity event around this unique phenomenon.Despite his legendary status, Ross remains refreshingly grounded. His latest blues EP tackles modern social media addiction, showing his continued relevance while honoring his musical roots. As he continues selling out venues with his band The Peaceniks, it's clear that after six decades, Ross Wilson isn't just still rocking it—he's reaching new heights.Subscribe now to hear more intimate conversations with the artists who shaped Australian music history! What has Ross the Boss been up to lately? Gather round, kids - we've got a heartwarming story for you about a Christmas long ago (1990) in a magical place called “Houston” where a detective on a mission encounters an alien with an arm-mounted drain snake to create space heroin to take back to his planet. There is also a gang called the White Boys (really!) who dress like finance bros who want to get their hands on that sweet, sweet space heroin too. And as a bonus, the alien has a killer flying CD attack. It's a lot to process, so sit back and let your uncles Matt, Scott and Kyle tell you all about DARK ANGEL, aka I COME IN PEACE! In the words of whoever greenlit this insane concept, “let it snow, let it snow, let it snow” and we don't mean the stuff that falls from the sky when it's cold. Learn more about your ad choices. Dark Angel (released in America under the title I Come In Peace) may have been a cheesy action movie starring Dolph Lundgren that hit's every 80's action movie trope imaginable; but it was also the most explicit reference to adrenochrome in a movie besides Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.Namrok Namrok joins PJ to break down this film and all its subtle, and not-so-subtle references to aliens, Nephilim, adrenochrome, and so much more. Then they get into the writer David Koepp. What was he really trying to say? Is he part of the Illuminati? Christmas comes early this year as I am joined by John Ferrer, curator of the annual festival of bizarre Yuletide entertainment McArathon, to discuss 1990's I Come In Peace (aka Dark Angel), directed by Craig R. Baxley and starring Dolph Lundgren and Brian Benben. We talk about the use of compact discs as alien death weapons, yuppie drug gangs, jittery scientists, cop movie clichés, the oh-so-brief moment when Brian Benben was at the heart of the zeitgeist, and much more!

It's the most chaotic episode in the long, storied history of GOIN' COMMANDO as Bryne and James convene in person again—this time, with 100% more tequila shots. The boys sit a respectable distance from each other and discuss the 1990 action sci-fi thriller I COME IN PEACE, starring Dolph Lundgren as tough Houston cop Jack Caine. Caine is investigating a series of drug-related murders, as well as a group of white-collar dealers literally named The White Boys, but what he *doesn't* know is...there are aliens there, also. We dive into everything that makes this movie a fun watch, but we also discuss fighting Tom Cruise, Scientology, Bagel Boss, the Expendables franchise, Bryne's first post-vaccine movie theater experience, and a lot more. There are some sidebars here, is what we're saying. Sidebars to sidebars, even. Cheers y'all. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

For Spear Talk 43, we sat down with the quintessential action movie villain, Matthias Hues! If you grew up in the 80's and 90's, then Matthias most likely fought your hero as the main henchman! One of those iconic roles was in I Come In Peace, opposite Dolph Lungren. He has fought them all: Loren Avedon, Cynthia Rothrock, Gary Daniels, Lorenzo Lamas, Billy Blanks, and Bolo Yeung! In our discussion we covered his voyage from Germany to California, the Golds Gym lifestyle and the importance of health and fitness, being a bodyguard for the Bob Marley estate, his book "Shirtless In Hollywood" which came out in 2019, and the status of action movies today! This was a great time, with some amazing stories!#matthiashues #actionmovies #goldsgymFollow @silverspearsecurity for all things Silver Spear Security, LLC. This week we are discussing another movie from our Top 100 list...I Come In Peace (or called Dark Angel internationally). Dave's pick from 1990 features Dolph Lundgren as an ass kicking cop who "never breaks a promise," an alien who steals narcotics, and a helluva lot of cursing. I Come In Peace is dying to become a cult classic, so let's get #IComeInPeace trending!!!

Here is the super spectacular 51st episode of the most fun horror podcast under the MULTI-MEDIA MEN banner called ‘My Bloody Podcast‘, where the show is related to all things HORROR! Here on this new show, Preston Barta from Fresh Fiction and the Denton Record-Chronicle and I talk about everything we love about horror movies, tv shows, and horror themed music. Our Feature Presentation this week is Ridley Scott's 1979 masterpiece 'ALIEN'. In our fifty-first episode, we discuss the new trailers for 'Clownado', 'Midsommar', and a new Child's Play TV Spot. We also discuss how Chris Rock is breaking into the horror genre with a new 'Saw' franchise, and even a new 4K UHD release of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. We also talk a little about the new John Wick 3: Parabellum film. It was a ton of fun for sure. Our “Bloody Question“ this week was: "In an 'Alien' type scenario, if someone or something were to burst out of your chest, who would it be and what would they do?". We also give you “Bloody Recommendations”, two horror films, ‘Funny Games‘, which is part of the Criterion Collection now, and 1990's Dolph Lundgren's alien action film 'I Come In Peace'. Our big topic of course, is the 1979 horror film ‘ALIEN‘, where we discuss the film, its production history, the actors, and more. It was so much fun. Scrooged always seems to get shunted to the side when we’re talking Christmas genre movies. Black Christmas and Gremlins always get the horror nods, in addition to Santa slashers like Silent Night, Deadly Night and Christmas Evil. The action advent selections are always Die Hard and Lethal Weapon, with maybe I Come In Peace for the heads. Romantic and family movies abound, obviously. However, with the exception of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, comedies with an acknowledgement of how awfully stressful the holidays can be — and that manage to be funny — are sparse. Somehow, Scrooged always seems to get left aside when lists get put together or people make their marathons.

Things are different this time. Brent watched the 1990 film 'Dark Angel' starring Dolph Lundgren in which an alien comes to America to forcibly deal narcotics. Dolph also attempts to find love with the city's coroner. One problem...she's his ex...Phoenix also watched a movie called "I Come In Peace" from 1990 in which Dolph Lundgren partners up with the guy from Dream On to stop an alien from out space that is bent on giving citizens overdoses of heroin. Dolph also must find a way to break off every plan he makes with his on-again-off-again girlfriend, the coroner of Houston.Which movie is shittier? Will the winner be worse than reigning champion The Star Wars Holiday Special? Does it even matter? Who is actually making these guys watch these movies? Also, what's in the fucking box?

But bizarre new clues reveal that the Boys' criminal enterprise extends much further than anyone had previously imagined. Director: Craig R. Baxley Year: 1990
Things to learn from this overstuffed episode: Bad Santa 2 is really bad, Dolph Lundgren is awesome, especially when fighting space aliens, laserdiscs were great, if you can get past the ridiculous prices and flipping discs three times during Star Wars. In addition, our top five is the movies we have purchased on way too many formats. This one is painful! And for the first time ever, the Al Leong one star bump up comes into effect as we review I Come In Peace, the criminally underrated Dolph Lundgren classic! If you don't listen to this episode, you will go in pieces, a-hole!

http://searchforschlock.com/media/podcasts/sfs-082-MastersOfTheUniverse.mp3 Download MP3 Like a horrible cross between Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (from which it steals its score and special effects budget) and Howard the Duck (with which it shares a plot), Masters of the Universe is the terrible He-Man film adaptation you didn't know how much you didn't want or need. Beefcakey I Come In Peace star Dolph Lundgren squares off against Frank Langella from Frost/Nixon, and their battle for the fate of Eternia. As these things do, their epic struggle spills over into southern California, where it imperils all of earth, and also Courteney Cox (Misfits of Science). If you're one of those people who thinks the 80s were dumb, feel free to use this film as exhibit A. Original post located at searchforschlock.com.

Exactly 3 years ago to the day we posted our first official Dr.Action and the Kick Ass Kid commentary 'Dark Angel (A.K.A. I Come In Peace)' and we're still here! So help us celebrate our anniversary with an ALL NEW commentary. Yes we are back ladies and germs, back amongst the exploding hallways of PM Entertainment with The Sweeper! It's a film in which C Thomas Howell, of all people, joins a shady underground vigilante squad. While working with them he kills absolutely everyone he meets, beds a hot, mad woman and avoids all the explosions PM Entertainment can throw at him, all so that he can go back to his lucrative job pool cleaning or something. (I may have made a lot of that up). This obviously gives The Doc and The Kid the chance to talk about The Golden Girls whizzing on each other, Bryan Brown's unusual Hollywood inside stories, a new, oral sex based, confection and much much more!We also review Run All Night the latest Neeson action thriller and discuss a new movie being shot right now in the Philippines, Showdown in Manilla starring some of our favourite B Team action heroes. If you're watching action without us, you're doing it wrong!!Follow us on twitter: @DrActionKickAss Like our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/DrActionAndTheKickAssKid Shop our store (ALL NEW DESIGNS): http://www.cafepress.com/aftermoviediner/8680529
