Hour after hour, he contemplated suicide. How would he do it? Would it hurt? After dropping out of college, Nate Rifkin had dedicated himself to self-help and pursuing his entrepreneurial dreams. Yet he failed to achieve any of his goals. Worse, he spiraled into debt, drank every morning, felt lonely, lost, and hated himself. A few years later – after a brutal bankruptcy and a stint spinning signs on a street corner – Nate Rifkin had quadrupled his income, married the woman of his dreams, and found happiness and contentment. What made the difference? Oddly enough, Rifkin had discovered an ancient form of meditation that reversed his downward spiral and elevated him to levels of success he never dreamed possible. Candid and painful – but ultimately inspiring – The Standing Meditation will show you step-by-step how to perform this ancient meditation and introduce you to the mysterious spiritual tradition it comes from. You'll discover how to stop self-sabotage, eliminate self-doubt, and tap into an unlimited source of energy. This practice is not easy. It's not pain-free. But it could transform your life. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/denisethelifecoach/support

“An exciting plan is built on a foundation of daily disciplines.” -Nate Rifkin Often, when we are faced with problems, the first thing we do is find a solution. But what if, instead of finding out what to do, we do nothing at all? Problems cause us stress and looking for an answer gives us additional stress, which is not so productive in any way. We're not saying it's better to mope all day and just give up. We're saying, what if we stop for a moment and reset before we continue on? Meditation is a technique that has helped many to unravel the crowd of thoughts that clouds their mind. But is this ancient practice still effective in this contemporary world? The Standing Meditation author, Nate Rifkin can attest to that! Learn how meditation has personally helped Nate overcome depression, anger, and bad habits and create new patterns. Ted and Nate also discuss where to start with meditation and important points to ponder as you set new goals, install new habits, and handle adversities. We all have childhood stories and emotions shut deep within us. And until we break free from these chains, we will not reach our destination. Whether we admit it or not, the place where we are now isn't comfortable at all. We were just used to it. It's time to stop tolerating the pain! Tune in and discover 2 simple steps you can take to get out of the uncomfortable “comfort” zone in no time! In this episode, we have guest speaker Nate Rifkin. When I had this conversation with Nate, so many parallels hit home to me in this way that it's tough for me to describe because I've never dived into the conversation about the money trauma that I have. Growing up homeless, poverty, watching bills, never get paid, the water turned off, the electricity turned off, heat and gas turned off, and just always going through this. And so, this conversation was so interesting because Nate talks about these parallels, which I think are incredibly important between your mindset, meditation, habits, and wealth. When Nate Rifkin began his journey, he was suicidal and drank alcohol every morning to get through the day. He dropped out of college, went broke, bankrupt, and even worked on street corners waving around a sign. However, Nate learned a little-known spiritual discipline that helped him transform his thoughts, emotions, financial life, and find love. He's described his journey and the transformative practice he learned in his book, The Standing Meditation. Nate lives in Golden, Colorado with his lovely wife. #053 – My guest this week is author and spiritual explorer, Nate Rifkin. Nate was once drenched in so much debt he was terrified he'd end up homeless. He experienced a string of entrepreneurial failures, broken friendships, & business partners who froze him out. He went from Bankrupt, to successful; from alone to happily married, from suicidal to fulfilled. Nate has prospered by combining ancient mystical practices with modern strategies for living and he dedicates himself to the Daoist mystical tradition. He's on the show to tell you what his secret is!My name is Ann Théato, and the mission of the Psychic Matters Podcast, is to teach you proven techniques for spiritual and psychic development from the comfort of your own home. Nate Rifkin did not take the typical path to becoming an author. After dealing with crippling debt, depression, alcohol addiction and battling inner demons, Nate actually came out ahead. Through sheer determination, he crawled his way out of the hole by even working as a sign spinner for longer than you'd probably guess! His book 'The Standing Meditation' goes over the Daoist practices he learned to help set hit mind and body right for a future that now includes him leaning into being a full-time writer. Truly an inspirational story that mirrors my own in ways I didn't expect!

Join Carol in this interview with Nate Rifkin to learn how he saved his life and "transformed his mind from an enemy to an ally" through the ancient "Standing Meditation" practice. Nate recognized the dangerous situation he was in in his life. First, he reflected on how his early development had negatively influenced him and created self-destructive habits. Next, he realized that his old protective mechanisms were no longer working. Finally, after much outward seeking in the world of self-help practices, life pushed Nate inward to focus on a spiritual path. He turned his life around incrementally, starting with a 1-minute meditation practice. Nate is an author and Daoist practitioner. In his book, The Standing Meditation, he shares his story. This #1 New Release in multiple categories on Amazon outlines his journey and "gives step-by-step directions for the Daoist meditation that saved his life." Nate Rifkin has prospered by combining ancient mystical practices with modern strategies for living. Nate used to be suicidal and drank alcohol every morning to get through the day. He dropped out of college, went broke, bankrupt, and even worked on street corners waving around a sign to afford rent and food. But he's managed to turn his life around, find love, and now has an incredible life. His secret? A practice from the spiritual tradition of Daoism. Check out his website at https://naterifkin.com
A 60 second practice that can change your life... Nate Rifkin had failed to achieve any of his goals. He spiraled into debt, drank every morning, felt lonely and lost, hated himself and even contemplated suicide. Just a few years later Nate quadrupled his income, married the woman of his dreams, and found happiness and contentment. What made such a dramatic difference? When Nate Rifkin began his journey not coming from a well to do family setting which caused him much pain, dealing with suicidal thoughts and finding himself drinking vodka and energy drinks every morning to get through the day. He dropped out of college after 18 months, went broke, bankrupt, and even worked on street corners waving around a sign, trying to make sense of life. However, Nate learned a little-known spiritual discipline that helped him transform his thoughts, emotions, financial life, and find love after his mentor taught him what he was studying. When Nate started the practice he started off with one minute a day, still keeping true to his drinking pattern in the morning as he was still dealing with a great deal of depression. Adding 5 seconds every time Nate found his body buzzing that felt just as good as the alcohol he was drinking. One day lead to another the booze made him feel awful that didn't take him to the next and his new meditation practice brought him to new elevations in his life. Nate then took his bottle and tossed it down the sink, as he was tapping deeper into his meditation practice. Nate realized he was on a spiritual journey as he brought his life down to a minimum realizing many parts of himself. We speak about how to stay on the path and never to give up on yourself, when you start a new meditation or spiritual practice. Having a daily short discipline is important to create a habit on order to create a routine. Nate was going through many difficulties in his life wondering if he was cursed in receiving what he wanted to create in his life, from getting into a car accident to his boss calling off a meeting to get his promotion. Nate covers what Taoism is and how it helped him through the process of his spiritual awakening that was his foundational work that helped him get through ever challenge while he was learning and growing to creating an amplified life. As we get deeper into the podcast Nate speaks about the difference between fragile and anti-fragile and how to be able to tap into something greater within your higher power, as we dive deeper into the four pillars of Taoism. Nate speaks about how to release tension and how it affects the flow of your energy in your body. “You become what you believe” is a quote from Oprah Winfrey. The full quote is actually “You become what you believe, not what you think or what you want.” The reason it prompts this week's podcast topic is because it is the question posed to viewers of a recent Netflix box set I have been watching. Despite contrary belief, I do still enjoy a good box set on Netflix. So over the last couple of weeks my wife and I have been following Messiah. It's the story of a man who is professed as being a Messiah and gains international recognition for performing miracles. The Oprah quote is carved into the table of a diner where one of the characters is sitting, and is the point in question for viewers to take away and ponder for themselves. The reason I bring this up is because it ties in well with last week's conversation with Nate Rifkin and the forthcoming conversation with Rich Morley that will be released on Wednesday. It is something that comes up time and time again in the podcast and in personal development. In researching this, I also notice that it is even raised in the bible: Matthew 9:29-30 This shortcast explores the power of belief and offers suggestions for changing our lives through changing our beliefs. It's his fault, my mom's fault, the president's fault. Or is it your responsibility? I'll take that answer. After all, if it's up to me, I can do something about it and actually change it. It's way easier to be a victim as you don't have to do anything but sit and complain. Taking responsibility means you actually have to take action. My next guest is Nate Rifkin - an author, who on his quest to be an entrepreneur spiralled into debt, drinking, depression, loneliness and self-loathing. After a brutal bankruptcy and doing all he could to crawl out from this hole he had created, the spiritual practice of Daoism and daily standing meditation turned his entire life around. The Standing Mediation. How an Ancient Technique Can Help You Achieve More in your Life. A Journey of a Thousand Miles starts with a Single step and author Nate Rifkin shared how that step changed his whole life. Nate was the kind of guy who wouldn't have any "luck" if it wasn't for bad luck. He hit walls figuratively every where in his life. He became obsessed with "self-help" in any form; then there came a break through. It didn't solve all his problems but helped him find answers. One seemingly small ancient pose, The Immortal Post or Standing Meditation from Daoism changed everything. We talk about his book "The Standing Meditation" and the things he learned. Nate Rifkin was a lot like so many people who are struggling with finding their path. After dropping out of college, he had dedicated himself to self-help and pursuing my entrepreneurial dreams. Yet he failed to achieve any of his goals. Worse, he spiraled into debt, drank alcohol every morning, felt lonely, lost, and hated himself.A few years later – after a brutal bankruptcy and a stint spinning signs on a street corner – Nate quadrupled his income, married the woman of his dreams, and found happiness and contentment. What made the difference? Nate Rifkin is an author, entrepreneur, marketing strategist, copywriter, natural health enthusiast, proud husband, and a practitioner of Daoist meditation. In this episode, Nate and I discuss his most recent book on the life-changing Daoist meditation known as The Standing Meditation. For millennia, people have searched for methods and techniques to reduce suffering, master their mind, and find meaning and support in life. One of the ancient wisdom traditions, known as Daoism, offers a unique perspective on life and its connectedness to the source of life - the Dao (the Way). The standing meditation is a fundamental Daoist practice that has been used to find alignment, harmony, and energetic balance. It is a simple but profound exercise that unifies in experience the body, life energy, and mind. From this place of oneness, one can connect with life itself and reap the benefits of living a life in alignment with self, with nature, and with the universe. Starting with 1 minute of practice a day is enough to start the magical transformation of your life. Daoism stands alongside Confucianism as one of the two great religious and philosophical systems of China. Daoism teaches us how to seek balance and live in harmony with the world. The word, dao, itself means “the way”, the pattern and substance of everything that exists. Our guest today is Nate Rifkin; when Nate began his journey, he felt broken and a sense of hate for himself. He was suicidal and drank alcohol every morning. He dropped out of college, went broke, bankrupt, and even worked on street corners as a sign spinner. Along the way a teacher introduced Nate to a little-known spiritual discipline that helped him transform his thoughts, emotions, and financial life. This practice from the Daoist mystical tradition, called the standing meditation, even helped him find love. In a moment of pure spiritual awakening, while in the midst of meditation, Nate felt his body begin to glow like the sun. Today, Nate is sharing that practice with us, and how he found his way into devoting his life to the standing meditation. We talk prana, chi and working with the life force energy. Nate guides into how to truly feel chi through a simple deep breathing practice we can do anytime and anywhere. Nate's book, The Standing Meditation, is candid and painful - but ultimately inspiring and will show you step-by-step how to perform this ancient meditation and introduce you to the mysterious spiritual tradition it comes from. You'll discover how to stop self-sabotage, eliminate self-doubt, and tap into an unlimited source of energy.
