These are NOT all the ways that trust is restored and yet this gives a nice place to start and easy to remember way that can help you begin leaning into trust. The guy may or may not respond in kind but it is the perfect opportunity to collect data about him. Create Desirability [11:04] Our physical bodies are like antennas. They are always sending and receiving energetic messages. When we allow ourselves to use non-verbal communication we can fire up feelings of desire. Small physical movements throughout the day can get us out of our heads and relax our bodies. Desire relates to the feeling of yearning for something to happen. It ignites the imagination and allows us to savor experiences. On dates, many women are afraid to feel desire because they get stuck in their heads and are trying to measure up. The ingredients to create desirability are: Sensuality — The ability to elevate the senses. Managing Sexual Energy — Triggering a sense of vitality and vibrancy. Embracing Feminine Energy — Asking for what you want. Women often underestimate the power of asking a man for something they want. Patty says that when you verbalize what you want it causes connection with a guy because all he wants is instructions and feedback. Shift Into Sensual [20:58] The best way to shift into your most sensual self is to modify simple daily tasks, such as walking, and incorporate sensuality into it. For example, sauntering down a hallway may take an extra five seconds but the extra time gives our senses a chance to appreciate our environment. Patty says that people seem to have forgotten how to take their time and to do things with intention. She says in order for our bodies to fully calibrate and integrate the information our minds know, we need daily practice. It reminds both our bodies and our minds that we are sensual beings. We have to love being with ourselves because if we don't create the playful, sensual being in our own time we will feel like we are faking it when we attempt to embody it. If we practice a little every day, we build our confidence and we own the feeling when we want to be playful. There is a way to walk that creates a bit more mystery and adds rhythm to our day. Having inner thigh awareness can shift the entire vibe of our body. The sensual, seductive feminine walks with inner thigh awareness. Inner thigh awareness is considering every step you take has more to do with your behind than your front. Women need to balance their mental, physical, and emotional selves. Our bodies are more than a transportation system for our heads. A slow drip is what allows us to appreciate a thing’s deliciousness. It is not wise to rush through everything. Today is 9/11, a day that none of us will forget. As we wind down Season Two of The Plant-Strong podcast, which is dedicated to those with the heart of a hero, we want to honor those who serve on the front lines when we call for help. To commemorate this special day, I want to share an open letter to first responders. We all remember where we were that day when time stood still and the events that transpired across the United States imprinted on each and every one of us. I remember like it was yesterday, as I'm sure you all do. On this day every year, we think of you, emergency first-responders, and the sacrifice you make for others. Lately, with the endless firefighting in California and Oregon, first responders are being put to the test once again and I want to remind everyone that the #1 cause of death for in-the-line-of duty deaths among firefighters is heart disease...not fires or smoke inhalation, not accidents…...heart attacks. Think about that. In a job that faces potential risk and personal harm every time a call comes in, it’s the effects of the standard American Diet that are more dangerous to these everyday heroes. It’s our mission at Plant-Strong to educate and empower people to take back their health, to get in the driver seat and be their own hero. We want everyone to experience the benefits of living plant-strong and to learn that you do NOT have to accept type II diabetes, or high blood pressure, or high cholesterol as your fate. You can turn it around. We want this for everyone, but I especially want this for firefighters and emergency first-responders. So my letter to all of you is to be brave, take the plunge, and don’t wait until you are having chest pains to see the light. Make the change to put YOURSELF FIRST - you will be able to rescue so many more people when your own internal engine is in order. We honor you today and always. We will never forget. After seven long years at the University of Florida, I graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacology. Becoming a pharmacist allowed me to live out one of my passions: helping others. After my first year of pharmacy school, I came home for summer break and met friends who were competing in NPC bikini bodybuilding competitions. I had never even heard of these or knew they existed for “normal” people like me. After learning the details of the competitions, my competitive nature took over, and I absolutely HAD to compete in one! After 17 weeks of intense training and dieting, I took first place in my category in my very first competition; I was hooked. Fast forward three years and three more competitions, I decided it was time to box up my bedazzled bikini. The amount of knowledge I gained as a competitor, on and off season, is invaluable. Self-control, discipline, fitness know-how, and proper nutrition are just a few of the key elements I learned along my NPC journey. What I also discovered was that competitions aren't really as healthy as one would think. Sure, I had a veiny 6-pack and practically no body fat, but I was also super fatigued and irritable. I looked amazing, but had no energy to go out and “show it off.” It was time to switch off the competing mindset and start focusing on creating a balance between looking good and feeling good. Not only did I do this for myself, but for my patients, peers, friends, and family. The wealth of knowledge from my past endeavors lead me to be the one they sought out for diet advice and tips for weight loss, and workout routines. Couple this with the fact that I was nearing 30 and ALL of my girlfriends were getting married; my expertise was heavily desired. I was ecstatic to be helping people I loved in an area I was super passionate about. My biggest addiction? The glow of confidence and gratification my client's radiate as they walk down the aisle, look in the mirror and pose for pictures. Thank you for taking the time to learn about ME! Get in the Arena and Off Your Ass In life, there are two kinds of men and only two. There are the spectators and the men in the arena. The spectator is the man who is complacent, who is comfortable, who sits back on the sidelines and watches others on their paths to greatness, all the while doing nothing himself. He criticizes, complains, and makes damn sure that every single person within a 300 ft radius know his opinion on any given topic, but he never adds anything, he never gives any value. He simply watches and takes. And then you have the man who in the arena. This is the man who has decided to leave the sidelines and take his life into his own hands. This is the man who quits his secure job to pursue his dreams, who drops out of college to travel the world, who learns how to meet and date beautiful women, who goes through the pain of sculpting his body, and who truly challenges himself to live up to his potential in every area of life. Which kind of man are you? 2. Commit to Your Craft. Never Dabble While there are only two types of men in this world, for a brief period of time, many of those men will fall into a third category, if only for a brief moment. This man is known as the dabbler. This is the man who was sitting on the sidelines, and instead decides to stand up and put one foot into the arena. But whenever the competition edges closer to him and he sees the faces of his adversaries and smells the blood on the sand, he backs down, afraid to commit to his new way of life. This is the type of man who starts a business but never builds it, who begins a novel but never finishes it, who invests in coaching but never takes action, and who listens to all of the dating programs but never gets his ass to a venue to ask a woman out. Don’t be that man. If you want something, then commit. Don’t waffle on the sidelines, unable to make a decision. You either say this is it! This is my f*cking time to be who I want to be or you back down gracefully. There is no in between. 3. Invest in Yourself First So many men who start down their paths to greatness hit a sinister trap called a plateau. They have been striving and striving for so long whether it is in their business or their relationships, but all of the sudden, they realize that they cannot progress anymore. Many men think it must be something is wrong with the vehicle that they are in so they abandon the relationship, start a new company, or quit the training program they were using. But what the true achievers realize whenever they are faced with these periods of stagnation is that all outward growth is a direct result of inward investment. If your workout program isn’t working (and it is accredited and proven), odds are that you are really the one who is not working. If your business is not growing, then chances are good that you not growing. If your relationships are failing, then the likely culprit is staring right back at you in the mirror. And the only way that you can overcome challenges and times like this is to invest in yourself. To achieve your outward goals, you must become the strong, grounded, powerful man on the inside first. Whether you need to start reading more books, listening to podcasts, investing in seminars, or hiring a coach, do whatever you believe is necessary to elevate your growth and start achieving on a level that you never thought possible. 4. Start Your Days with Positive Habits Almost everyone in the fitness and self-help world follows or prescribes some form of morning routine. And while many of these experts convolute the power of this habit by recommending an excessive number of practices or specific ways that you have to do things, the truth of the matter is much simpler. Every morning when you wake up, your goal should be to focus your mind and your heart on all of the good in your life. Think about how grateful you are for the people and the opportunities that you have in your life. Write a thank you note to a colleague. Tell your wife or girlfriend that you love her. Because once you have done something that puts you into this state of being, the rest of the day will flow naturally. When you are grateful for your health, you don’t take it for granted. When you are grateful for a spouse you don’t start the morning by arguing. When you are thankful for all of the opportunities in your life, you are unlikely to waste them and more likely to chase the day down with a fire and intensity that is rare is most modern men. 5. Be Willing to Suffer for Your Goals Here is a simple truth that most ‘gurus’ will not tell you. Success sucks. Because there is no way to achieve success without some level of suffering. No matter what you want, you are goig to have to go through some pain and some heart ache to achieve it. Whether you want a chiseled body, a full bank account, a loving relationship, or a deep spiritual connection, you will have to go through some pain to get it. And at the end of the day, you need to remember that behind every great deeds are thousands of hours of painful deeds that go unnoticed. However, if you are willing to face the pain, the rewards on the other side are worth it.

Personal Growth Requires Giving to the World On your path to ultimate personal development, you will reach a place where you realize that you can no longer focus solely on yourself and you have to begin giving back to truly impact the world. To grow into the best version of yourself, you have to give back to others, you have to be a servant to the world, and you have to be willing to occasionally put the needs of those less fortunate than you above your own. 2. You Need to Know What You Really Want If you do not know where you want to go, then it doesn’t much matter what you are doing on a day to day basis. You have to have a vision for your life and for who you want to be. You have to have goals and a plan to achieve them, based off of your desires and your dreams, not society’s, your parent’s or your friend’s desires and dreams. 3. You Have to Take Care of Yourself First While we have already said that personal development requires that you give to the world, you cannot fully give to the world until you have given to yourself. Until you are taking care of yourself in mind, body, and spirit, until you are a little bit selfish and prioritize your needs, you will not have enough to truly give to the world. 4. Focus on What You Want, not What You Don’t What you focus on expands. If you want to achieve your dream you have to focus on the things that you want in your life, not the things that you don’t want. Instead of focusing on how you are out of shape and overweight, focus on how you can’t wait until you are a shredded, athletic beast. Instead of focusing on how you are broke, focus on how you can’t wait until you have more than enough money to live life on your terms. It’s just like riding a bike, look where you want to go, not at the tree nearby. 5.Your Language Creates Your Reality If you are constantly telling yourself that you are a worthless piece of shit…. Odds are, that’s how you will feel. If you are constantly telling yourself that you are not where you want to be however you are going to put in the work to achieve your dreams, that is what will start to happen. What you tell yourself, you believe. Be sure you are telling yourself an empowering story.

McRaven. This chapter talks about not giving up on your dreams and having the fortitude to stick to the process. Refusing to give up and standing tall against the odds makes life what you make of it. Kolat talks about the part in the book during SEAL training where the drill instructor tells the trainees if they quit now they will live with that regret forever. Kolat thinks this is a powerful statement and one many people don't bring up when motivating others to not give up. Bear the Burden on Your Own (2:34)Being self-sufficient is crucial. Kolat talks about how he prepped for competitions and what he took with him so even if no one had Gatorade/snacks or dry clothes for him he was prepared. When you do get help it's a welcomed relief but you have to be mentally and physically prepared for life. Dernlan talks about the role wrestling plays in teaching kids self-reliance. In a day and age of helicopter parents watching and fixing every problem or lawnmower parents knocking down obstacles in their children's way it's no wonder, kids haven't learned to be self-sufficient. This ties back to essentially teaching kids to quit. Instead of allowing them to figure it out all they have to do is step back and allow the parents/teachers/adults to fix all problems. This is not to be confused with abandoning or not helping but rather it's leading.Be Brutally Honest with Yourself First (11:34)Kolat and Dernlan break down the role of a coach specifically a college coach preparing their athletes for the rest of their lives. While coaching one of Dernlan's priorities was to prepare kids for the non-cushioned real life after college. “Create that game within the game, that underdog mindset, when you’re starting. Most people look at it as freedom, but I look at it as that you have to play that game within the game and push yourself. If you aren’t a self-starter and self-motivator, regardless of how good your idea is, it can be tough to win.” Having been an avid sports memorabilia collector since I was a kid, I have known of my guest today, Brandon Steiner, for 20+ years, and as head of Steiner Sports, he’s been a pioneer within the sports marketing and promotion space, creating a new vehicle for athletes to grow beyond their sport. I was thrilled to have corralled Brandon for this episode, as he shares so much advice on being an entrepreneur, how to be a truly successful athlete, and so much more! “Don’t settle for doing something just well, but do it extraordinary, that’s the goal. Do something different and more unique than anyone else has done. What are you going to do to differentiate yourself, especially if someone else is already doing what you’re doing? What are you doing to get better, and are you willing to climb those rough hills and get through those tough climbs? Because that’s how you’re going to become significant and extraordinary.” We dug into his current book, “Living On Purpose”, drawing from his three decades of experiences within the sports industry. Favorite Success Quote “There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved” ~George Sand Key Points 1. Learn to be Authentic not Perfect Many men have a perfection complex. They feel that unless they are perfect, they aren't worthy of love and aren't worth their goals. The simple fact, however, is that no man is perfect, we all have flaws and failures and always will. Your goal as a grounded man should be to become 100% authentic, not perfect. Be yourself, don't hide behind this facade or persona of who you want to be; this only leads to a disconnect between how people view you and who you really are. When you are 100% authentic, when you are vulnerable and open yourself up to the world, no one can hurt you, you give your full self and allow others to take it or leave it knowing that some will love you and some will hate you. 2. Accept People Faults and All Once you come to terms with your own imperfection, you must come to terms with the imperfection of others. As much as we hate to admit it, no woman is perfect, there is no “Cinderella.” Every woman has her faults, failures, and issues. If you want to be a grounded man in a relationship, you must learn to love your woman, faults and all. Do not sit in judgement of them, but rather accept them, acknowledging your own faults and move forward in your relationship. 3. There Are Two “Me's” and One “Us” In every great relationship, there are boundaries. You are two individuals but one, you have two seperate lives but the same life. You must realize that a key component of any healthy relationship is seperation. You need time with your friends, time by yourself, and time away to grow. You should never come to a point in your relationship where your significant other has an issue with you spending time with your social circle each week or taking a trip by yourself to do some thinking. Accept that to grow together, you also need to grow apart. 4. Do Not Avoid Conversations About Money Money is one of the leading causes of divorce in all marriages, and one of the greatest reasons for this is a lack of open and honest communication about money. If you want to make a relationship work, you need to be open about your financial situation, debt, spending habits, and financial goals. If you come into a relationship with significant debt that the other person was unaware of (or vice versa) you are starting off your lives together with contention. As Zig Ziglar said “Money isn't everything but it is right up there with oxygen,” do not let something so important go undiscussed. Realize that your value as a person and as a lover is not your bank account, you have more to offer a relationship than financial wealth. If you love the other person, you will find a way to work through financial issues together, but first you must talk about them and be open. 5. Take Care of Yourself First A simple yet profound piece of advice. You cannot be all that your partner needs you to be if you are only focused on them and not yourself. What your ideal woman wants is for you to be a masculine, emotionally intelligent, grounded man, and to do this, you must first have your own life in order. You can't take care of someone else and love fully if your life is in shambles, you can't commit to a healthy relationship if you are not making your own health and well being a priority above the other person's. Although it may sound selfish, this is truly the only way for a relationship to work. No marriage or long term committment should be two halves making a whole, rather it should be two whole people coming together to enjoy life. Become whole before you start searching for your “better-half”

Ohhhh man…this episode of The Mindset Mountain Podcast got a bit fiery and intense. Jason “J-Boom” Legaard here with another “Tactical Tuesday.” In this episode, I share two examples of how to get practical with how to master your mindset. I cover the philosophy of how to “serve small in order to stand tall.” I give an example from our personal experience with Mindset Mountain in regard to marketing. On how you must serve a small audience first in order to serve the masses. By being laser targeted one much smaller group and serving them intensely, your ultimate vision of mass service can be achieved. Starting out thinking you can help the whole world..that gets rough pretty fast and leave us shattered with broken dreams. But then I go deeper on this topic. I speak on how serving small means serving and investing in yourself first. Whoa! What? Investing in yourself first! Man talk about an out of control ego power trip right? Well…that's what I used to think for years. But over time..things have changed. Even though I took a risk with this part of the message…I had to speak it. It's from my heart and it's been something that's been a challenge for years. If this part of the episode pissed some people off..I get it. I would've been too back in the day. It's just that over the years I started to realize that investing in yourself first, maximizing yourself and creating your best version of you is the ultimate gift to the world.
