Send us a textWelcome to part one of my show with retired Las Vegas Metro Lieutenant Randy Sutton. Most cops, including myself, have a reoccurring nightmare of being in a gunfight and their firearm malfunctioning or their rounds hitting the bad guy with no effect. My guest on today's show lived that nightmare, going toe to toe with a gunman less than a few feet away from him, with his pistol malfunctioning, and once he cleared his weapon, the rounds hitting, but having no effect. All the while, the bad guy was firing his gun at him so closely he could see the fire coming out of the barrel. Lt. Sutton joined the Princeton Police Department at 19 years of age, becoming one of the youngest Police Officers in the state. He served the town for ten years before joining the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, where he served for almost 24 years, retiring at the rank of lieutenant. During his service, he distinguished himself as one of the highest decorated officers in department history, having earned multiple Lifesaving awards, Exemplary Service awards, Community service, and a Medal for Valor. The good lieutenant is also a public speaker, prolific author, podcaster, and the founder of Wounded Blue, whose mission is to improve the lives of injured and disabled law enforcement officers by providing support, education, assistance, and legislative advocacy to our true American heroes. Please enjoy this often raw and very real conversation with Lieutenant Randy Sutton. In today's episode we discuss:.· Why and how he got involved in law enforcement.· How he became a police officer at the young age of nineteen. · The best and worst parts of being a small town cop in Princeton New Jersey.· Starting over his law enforcement career in the Las Vegas Metro Police Department.· The challenges and problems with starting over in Vegas and being one of the oldest recruits in the academy. · Responding to an active shooter at a high school.· Going toe to toe with an armed suspect and having your gun malfunction.· Testifying in a Coroner's Inquest and facing the suspect's mother.· The aftermath of being in a fatal confrontation.Visit the Wounded Blue website and donate to this worthy cause!Visit Randy's website!Check out the new Cops and Writers YouTube channel!Check out my newest book, The Good Collar (Michael Quinn Vigilante Justice Series Book 1)!!!!!Enjoy the Cops and Writers book series. Please visit the Cops and Writers website. What would you do if you lost the one you loved the most? What changed in terms of the retail landscape and how did brands respond? What is it about the digital shelf in online marketplaces that differs from the physical world and what power do brands have in this channel? Why are retailers so excited about retail media? What are their core motivations for launching networks? For retail media to deliver revenue and profit growth to retailers, there is an expectation that it will attract “Net new” investments from brands. What do brands need in exchange for these new dollars to begin flowing at scale? You often use words like closed-loop, determinism and probabilism when talking about media across retailers. What does this mean for brands in the context of their media spend and why should they be thinking about deterministic measurement?Meanwhile domestic retailers are feeling pressure from new competitive sources like Chinese marketplaces. Why and how are they responding? How should brands be leveraging the power they have in the era of marketplaces and retail media to realign the balance of power and how should retailers respond? What types of investments and choices do brands need to make in order to evaluate which retail media networks are right for them? In my opinion, the song was better than the sit-com that spawned it. And, it had staying power, making it to the top of the pop charts. There is something transcendent being expressed here. As Thomas Wolfe said: “you can't go home again,” Maybe not, but it's something we all long for, and in this joyful three minute tune John Sebastian ties a ribbon around that sentiment. You left home with a desire to see the world and make your fortune; you've been beaten down and turned around, and find yourself back where you started from. But, son, we never left, and we'll welcome you with open arms (and, some gentle teasing). It's so good to have you back.My first ever concert, at age 13, ten years earlier, was the Lovin' Spoonful at Princeton New Jersey. The good-time jug band music of John Sebastian has always been a warming presence in my life. His inclusion at Woodstock was no accident; he is one of the all-time greats. What a coup it was for Hollywood to get him to compose a jaunty theme song for a goofy, yet heart warming show about “sweat-hogs” - those ne'er do well high school students that had to be quarantined in their own remedial class. When approach by the producer to consider the assignment, he composed it in one night, and when asked how he did it so fast, he owned up to the fact that he had been a sweat hog himself. I believe that it was that identification which inspired John Sebastian to go beyond “jaunty” to an honest evocation of romantic universality. I'm not crying; you're crying.

House of Pain... dont il aimait très fort Back from the dead. Having a signature program as a teacher can really set your offerings a part and help differentiate you from the crowd. But how does one actually create a signature program? Thankfully we have someone who's successfully created their signature program and it's rippled out in to many more income streams for their business, and that's the wonderful Lara Heimann! A practicing physical therapist and yoga teacher for 25 years, Lara holds a B.A from Duke University, an M.S from Duke University in Physical Therapy, and a Post Grad Certification in Neurodevelopmental Training and Recovering Function Organization through Stanford University. As she embarked on her 200 Hour YTT, she began to notice a void in the inclusion of anatomy in the conversations of yoga training. In the years to follow, Lara began to refine the LYT Yoga Method, combining physiology, kinesiology and neurology and functional movement patterns to yield a more cohesive philosophy. In 2011 Lara opened up the first official LYT Yoga Studio, Yoga Stream, in Princeton NJ, and began to share her teachings through a codified and extensive LYT Yoga Teacher Training that continues to be offered online and year round for students all over the world. Lara is the epitome of a yoga professional and she shares deeply about creating the LYT Yoga Method, how she trains other teachers and so much more. Wow! You'll love this episode with John C Morley. John C Morley, is a serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, national talk show host, Franklin Lakes Volunteer Ambulance Squad Member who also who also has a daily motivational video blog on John C. Morley Serial Entrepreneur Face Book Page. While John was still in college in his Junior year he started JCM & Son Associates a tech company designed to support people with their technology and get things done right the first time. His inspiration came from knowing that a large computer chain was attempting to rip his father off to simply change a battery in a computer at a family business. John knew that the most it should have costed about 75.00 plus tax with the battery. Thus John started with two basic services on-site support for just $10.00 per visit whether it took five minutes or 4 hours it was only $10.00. If he did phone consulting that would just be $5.00 for five minutes or an hour and it started to catch on. When he graduated many of his friends asked if he was painting houses anytime soon because JCM & Son sounded like a paint company. Within a few months he had came up with a new name The JMOR Connection, Inc, and filed all the appropriate paperwork with the state for the change. John knew that he wanted to build it to more then a copy center and thus Neighborhood Publications was born. A full print production marketing, digital media including video production, public relation, events and print on anything technology. He and his team continue to do what they did over ten years ago which is to take care of every client one by one and deliver value that will captivate them and their prospects. In 2020, John started being called the Father of LinkedIn with now close to 4000 connections because of his unique way of getting people curious in him and what he does. Thus, the concept of a LinkedIn banner profile was born that easily aroused curiosity in other people to want to learn more. John is all the host of a National Talk Show The JMOR Tech Talk Show and a local TV show in Princeton NJ and the host of Inspirations for your Life a new daily show to improve the quality of your life and those around you. John believes that if you love what you do, one will never work a day in their lives. Tell us about you, your story, your background, and/or your business?: I have several things I can share. She received the auspices of the President of Italy in 2008 for the premiere of her secular Cantata dedicated to the victims of terrorism. Ferrari's music appears on several CD recordings, including five all-Ferrari organ CDs: three recorded by Carson Cooman (2014 and 2016) and two by Peter Clark (2015 and 2016). Carlotta Ferrari is a member of International Alliance for Women in Music, and Italian Society for Contemporary Music. Her current research interest lies mainly in contemporary modal music: she is working on RPS modal system, a new compositional grammar in cooperation with Harvard organist and composer Carson Cooman, who first developed it. Also she is currently cooperating with Marco Casazza, violinist and physicist, on the relationship between art and science. She encourages the diffusion of her works worldwide (please visit her Imslp page). In this conversation Carlotta talks about her love of counterpoint, modes, and being a woman composer in today's world. Enjoy and share your comments below.
