They don't lose their neurodiversity and brilliance just because it's easier to function in the world."Dr. Kristin Reihman: "If the brain gets the signal to grow, heal, and organize at the midbrain, it will continue that process on the way up. It's really a bottoms-up approach that focuses on resetting the stage for the brain to work properly."Dr. Kristin Reihman: "The Family Hope Center uses an integrated neurological chart to measure a variety of brain functions. “The dangers of medicalizing the human condition are nothing short of a silent epidemic in American society. This dangerous trend pathologizes the core of human experience, categorizing everyday emotions and responses to trauma and life's challenges as disorders. It's a slippery slope into psychiatric over-diagnosis, overmedication, and a lifetime of pharmaceutical dependency.” – Dr. Roger McFillin, Psy.D., ABPPThe notion that depression is the result of a “chemical imbalance” in the brain emerged, not coincidentally, in the late '80s with the introduction of Prozac—a drug that appeared to be helpful in treating depression by increasing levels of serotonin. Pushed heavily by Big Pharma as well as organizations including the American Psychiatric Association, this storyline has become the dominant narrative up until recently, in which an umbrella review (led by Joanna Moncrieff) concluded that, “The main areas of serotonin research provide no consistent evidence of there being an association between serotonin and depression, and no support for the hypothesis that depression is caused by lowered serotonin activity or concentrations.” Join me in this episode as Dr. Roger McFillin and I discuss topics including dispelling some of the myths around depression being a chemical imbalance, the over-use of prescription medications, and some of the issues today that are threatening to take away our medical freedom.Despite being formally trained in evidence-based treatments and achieving Board Certification in Behavioral & Cognitive Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychologists, Dr. Roger McFillin has witnessed countless individuals deteriorate under these supposedly “best available evidence” recommendations. Many who turned to drugs and medical interventions to improve their mental health worsened dramatically. In an attempt to resolve the conflict between what he was seeing in clinical practice and what he was told to be safe and effective, Dr. McFillin immersed himself in scientific literature, delved into ancient philosophy, and scrutinized historical texts. His revelations were astounding. Much of the current scientific base that informs psychiatry and the mental health field is infected with corruption and bias. Dr. McFillin now shares his experience, and addresses the pervasive issues that threaten to take away our medical freedoms in his captivating Radically Genuine Podcast.Suggested Resources:DrMcFillin.comRadically Genuine Podcast | Instagram | TwitterHow To Raise a Healthy Child In Spite of Your DoctorDr. John Ioannidis PublicationsRisk of Suicidal Behaviors and Antidepressant Exposure Among Children and Adolescents: A Meta-Analysis of Observational StudiesThe Serotonin Theory of Depression: a Systematic Umbrella Review of the EvidenceRisk of Suicidal Behaviors and Antidepressant Exposure Among Children and ATo learn more about WellnStrong: Subscribe to my newsletter! Buckle up for a time warp! Dr. Roger McFillin and Sean revisit a January 21, 2022 episode, adding fresh insights and perspectives along the way.—-------Throughout history there are examples of communities, regions and even entire countries acting irrationally towards a perceived adversary. And sometimes that “adversary” is not a physical presence, but simply an idea, or the threat of an occurrence. Examples such as the Salem Witch Trials, the Dancing Mania, and Nazi Germany often leave us asking the question, “How did this happen?”The phenomenon of Mass Formation Psychosis has been applied as a possible explanation. In September 2021, a professor of clinical psychology at Ghent University in Belgium suggested Mass Formation as a possible explanation for the global response around the Covid pandemic. At the start of January 2022, Dr. Robert Malone shared this topic on the Joe Rogan Podcast, effectively becoming the most memorable part of their 3 hour conversation. Thus the need for more education on this psychological phenomenon. On today's podcast Roger, Kelly and Sean discuss Mass Formation Psychosis. Original file without commentary: Radically Genuine Podcast with Dr. Roger McFillin | 22. In this compelling podcast episode, we spoke with  Kristin Reihman, MD — physician, mother, author, and Lyme disease survivor — as she candidly shares her personal journey as both a patient and doctor. Beyond merely treating symptoms, Dr. Reihman advocates for a holistic approach to health, challenging the conventional norms of the allopathic medical system. Having recovered herself from a debilitating case of Lyme over a decade ago, Dr. Reihman knows all too well what it is to live with a body that feels like it's falling apart, a brain that has forgotten how to do simple math, and the fear that you're going to die from an illness that is invisible to most people. She also knows how to make a complete recovery, and has done that for herself. Now, she is on a mission to help as many people as possible recover their own most vibrant versions of themselves, and get back to living their amazing lives. She shares her favorite tools, practices, and mindset shifts for whole-person healing and wellness in her book, on weekly episodes of her Healing Grove Podcast, and in the online communities she cultivates, including the Healing Grove Membership, on Instagram, and in her latest offering, the Life After Lyme Coaching Program. We delve into the intricacies of American physicians' training, highlighting the need for a more comprehensive understanding of health. Dr. Kristin Reihman's story takes an unexpected turn as she shares her principled decision to leave a local hospital network and traditional practice due to her stance against a mandatory vaccine. This bold move becomes the focal point of our conversation, sparking reflections on values, medical freedom and divine intervention.Kristin Reihman, MDFamily Hope CenterThe Healing Grove Podcast: Kristin Reihman, MD - YouTubeInstagram @kristinreihmanmdLink to Ebook: Life After LymeReceive $10.00 off of Life After Lyme ebook at checkout: RadGenPodcastNote: This podcast episode is designed solely for informational and educational purposes, without endorsing or promoting any specific medical treatments. Dr. Roger McFillin, a seasoned clinical psychologist and the compelling voice of the Radically Genuine Podcast, dares to question the prevailing surge in depression diagnoses in our modern world. He boldly sheds light on the truth about SSRIs, leveling grave accusations of "criminal negligence" at the doctors who knowingly sidestep informed consent requirements. Dr. McFillin uncovers a disturbing reality—one where patients are shielded from the harsh truth of low efficacy rates, serious risks, and debilitating long-term side effects, such as inability to orgasm. In this episode, Dr. McFillin unveils the elaborate charade woven by the pharmaceutical industry. He underscores the unsettling fact that antidepressants, touted as life-changing solutions, actually provide relief to a mere fifteen percent of those who turn to them, all while carrying a risk of suicide that's double that of a placebo. The heart of our conversation revolves around the calculated cherry-picking of scientific data, which serves to construct a narrative that prioritizes pharmaceutical profits over individual well-being.Dr. McFillin contends that labeling these medications as "anti-depressants" is a gross misnomer, a stance he courageously shared through his YouTube channel. His insights earned him the attention of influential figures like Joe Rogan, but punishment from YouTube, who mysteriously took down his channel without explanation immediately after he exposed critical research findings. Dr. McFillin's mission is clear: he implores the public to embrace critical thinking and cast aside the blinders that obscure a disconcerting reality—a medical system that peddles drugs not on the basis of research, but rather at the whims of the marketing department. As we delve deeper into the episode, we explore how the catchphrase "trust the science" often contradicts the actual scientific research. Later on, our conversation shifts over to postpartum depression and the lives of postpartum mothers. These exhausted and overwhelmed women represent just one of many vulnerable groups suffering harm, not help, by the professionals they entrusted.Join us in this eye-opening discussion as we unravel the layers of deception and confront the unsettling truths about our contemporary medical landscape. Dr. Roger McFillin's unwavering commitment to authenticity challenges the status quo, beckoning us to peer beyond the facade and reckon with the stark realities we collectively face.Radically Genuine PodcastRadically Genuine YouTubeRadically Genuine**********Down to Birth is sponsored by:Needed -- Optimal nutritional products for before, during and after pregnancyModern Nursery--Your one-stop shop for eco-friendly, stylish baby gear Connect with us on Patreon for our exclusive content.Email Contact@DownToBirthShow.comInstagram @downtobirthshowCall us at 802-GET-DOWN Work with Cynthia: 203-952-7299 HypnoBirthingCT.com Work with Trisha: 734-649-6294 Please remember we don't provide medical advice. If you ask the common person on the street, “What causes depression?” you will likely find that most will answer with “a chemical imbalance in the brain,” to some degree. What most people do not know, is that this notion is not supported by scientific evidence. Despite this fact, SSRI's are still being prescribed to 45 Million Americans (to say nothing of other antidepressant drugs). In this episode I speak with psychologist Dr. Roger McFillin of the Radically Genuine Podcast about what depression actually is and how we should navigate it.

Dr. McFillin and I explore the problems of diagnostic expansion and over-medicalization; secondary gain from identifying as ill; and the pathologization of normal human emotions. We discuss how evidence-based practices can be valuable, even as we challenge the flaws riddling the medical model of psychology. And we share practical knowledge about health, evolutionary psychology, and resilience to adverse experiences.Dr. Roger K. In the episode, "An Interview with Psychologist Dr. Roger McFillin, host of Radically Genuine Podcast, on Psych Meds, Drug Trials, Resilience & Recovery (S4, E4)," Licensed Psychologist Dr. Roger K. McFillin, who is the Executive Director of the Center for Integrated Behavioral Health in Bethlehem PA, joins the show. Also host of the podcast “Radically Genuine”, Roger is strongly committed to the use of evidence-based treatments and specializes in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for the treatment of post-traumatic stress, eating disorders & mood/anxiety related concerns.McFillin is extremely vocal about the fact that psych meds do not improve long-term outcomes and openly challenges the scientific basis to support their efficacy. He reveals how contrived the drug trials are explaining what data is actually published. Conducted by the pharmaceutical industry, these studies test efficacy for up to only 8 weeks, while patients are often prescribed them for life. In contrast he offers ample insight as to what proper mental health treatment looks like. With his belief in resilience and recovery, his message is that healing is possible in a variety of ways and that the human spirit has imbedded in it the potential to rise above obstacles in life. Criticizing the overriding reductionist materialist view in today's Western medicine, Dr. Roger McFillin shares how many of these historical cultural norms and narratives no longer serve us in our modern age. Although he has experienced some backlash in the mental health field for his openly critical assertions, particularly on his active Twitter platform (@DrMcFillin), Dr. McFillin is opening the conversation for those in the prescribed harm community and the psychiatric survivor movement, as he invites the ethical and open-minded players in the mental health professional arena to debate the problems openly on his Radically Genuine Podcast to discuss new change for the better. #prescribedharm #radicallygenuinepodcast #bigpharmaharms #ethicalscience #mentalhealth #therapy #mentalillness #westernpsychiatry #evidencebasedtreatment #psychiatricsurvivor #resilience #recovery #bipolarartist #PTSD #depression #anxiety #DSMlabels #mentalhealthpodcast #materialism #biomedicalmodel #humanexperience Follow Dr. Roger McFillin on:Twitter: @DrMcFillinIG and TikTok: @radgenpodEmail thoughts and questions to: radgenpod@gmail.comCheck out his website at: https://www.centerforibh.com/Listen to his Radically Genuine Podcast at any podcast locationDon't forget to subscribe to the Not As Crazy As You Think YouTube channel @SicilianoJenAnd please visit my website at: www.jengaitasiciliano.comConnect: Instagram: @ jengaitaLinkedIn: @ jensicilianoTwitter: @ jsiciliano

At Molliteum, we believe in working through your own problems. We believe that every human being is capable of helping themselves, because in reality - they are. Unfortunately, today we see a lot of small issues being turned into large ones. We see short-term hardship be labeled as something chronic. And as a result, more people are suffering and fewer are being helped. We wanted to shed some light on this, so we sought out Dr. Roger McFillin for his expert advice on the topic. Dr. McFillin is a Clinical Psychologist, Executive Director of the Centre for Integrated Behavioural Health, and co-host of the Radically Genuine Podcast. We came across Dr. McFillin on one of his Twitter threads, where he was speaking out against PTSD treatment styles. He's fighting the good fight against the current narrative, and malpractices, in the world of psychology. In this episode, co-hosts Chris and Matt Caldaroni go deep in discussion on the current state of psychological practices.
