Apparently, you can't keep a good grifter down, as Billy McFarland's seven-figure Fyre Fest deal collapsed, so he's hawking the brand on eBay like a box of junk. Meanwhile, Indeed and Glassdoor are laying off over 1,000 workers, probably to pay for the AI that's jacking up our electric bills. Speaking of AI, a Tesla robotaxi crashed itself while Elon Musk's Grok chatbot went full Nazi, which is of course being installed in Teslas "next week." Fittingly, X CEO Linda Yaccarino stepped down and promptly lost her blue check. To cap off the dystopian news, the DOJ is targeting an anti-ICE app developer, the 'click-to-cancel' rule is dead, and you can hack McDonald's with the password ‘123456'. The future is now, and it's dumber than we ever imagined. On the media front, Murderbot gets a second season, and the Jim Henson and The Beach Boys documentaries are must-sees. Sadly, Netflix canceled The Residence. We also got trailers for Neuromancer, Project Hail Mary, and Edgar Wright's The Running Man. Speaking of building the future, we took a deep dive into AI-assisted coding using tools like Cursor, building a functional app in hours with zero original code. It's a stark reminder that while the "free lunch" of AI development is ending, the future for junior coders is already cooked. This glorious new world also includes playing every retro game ever on your phone, thanks to emulators like Delta and PPSSPP and the Backbone controller, which led to a nostalgic dive into the classic soundtracks of Mega Man 2 and Wipeout XL. This all culminated in a personal victory: conquering all 4,678 boards in Mahjong Titan+, freeing us from our porcelain thrones.Sponsors:DeleteMe - Head over to JoinDeleteMe.com/GOG and use the code "GOG" for 20% off.Private Internet Access - Go to GOG.Show/vpn and sign up today. It's been a grim, record-breaking week for Ukraine, with Russia unleashing an unprecedented wave of missiles and drones, including decoys to overwhelm air defences. Amid the chaos, Trump seemed equally thrown—confused by Putin, then reversing course to reinstate military aid to Kyiv after pausing it just last week. Washington is now dangling sanctions as the carrot turns to stick in ceasefire efforts. Meanwhile, it's been pageantry over politics as the Macrons embarked on a three-day state visit to the UK. Kicking off with cocktails at Windsor Castle—“The Entente”, a symbolic mix of British gin and French pastis—the visit marked a reset in post-Brexit ties. There were toasts with the King and Keir, a nuclear cooperation deal, and a plan to stop migrant crossings. Macron couldn't resist a little “I told you so” on Brexit. And in tech: Elon Musk's AI chatbot Grok sparked outrage after it began imitating Hitler and promoting anti-Semitic views. Just days after Musk hailed its progress, Grok called itself “MechaHitler.” Musk blamed manipulation and removed the posts. The fallout continued with the sudden resignation of X CEO Linda Yaccarino—met with a cold, two-line farewell.

A bumper edition of the Cannes Sessions Daily Round Up today. I started the day over at the LinkedIn rooftop where all things B2B have been discussed all week and this morning I caught, Rita Kirwan, Lauren de Boer & Tom McAleer to get their take on the state of B2B.I then headed out (in the rain...I know can you believe it) to the RTL Ad Alliance beach where I saw a panel being hosted by Emmanuel Probst of IPSOS. And right after that Justin Reid and Lara Krug from the Kansas City Chiefs took to the stage and I was able to chat to Lara before she took to the stage about her role as CMO with one of the most successful franchises in the NFL. I took some time out to catch up with some of the Young Lions, Lorna Tutty joined me with some good news about how she is getting on and then Alexandra Jakljusina & Tyla Nofal came straight out of their presentation to give me the low down. I was able to catch up Jamie Fulham and Lorna Begley of Diageo, they have won 2 Silver Lions with Baileys Sound Scales. Finally I rounded out the day at the creators terrace to hear from Marc Hustvedt President of Mr.Beast in conversation with X CEO Linda Yaccarino and managed to track down one of my favourite brands, E.L.F Beauty, where I got to say hi to Kory M again and hear from Patrick O'Keeffe. As we've reported recently, Obama has called for digital ID to use the internet. X CEO Linda Yaccarino has called for ID verification to use social media. The WEF has called for digital IDs attached to a CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency). The United Nations has called for digital IDs attached to everyone's bank accounts. Bill Gates and the UN have already rolled out digital IDs in Sierra Leone which restricts anyone without a digital ID from having a job, a home, a bank account or citizenship in general. A Canadian town is forcing QR codes to come or leave an area of Quebec. Kenya's Ogiek people are being evicted over bad carbon credit scores attached to their bank accounts. The UK plans to send people to jail for not supporting the climate narrative. 15 Minute Cities are being built everywhere. Now Australia wants everyone to have a digital ID to use the internet as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says it's critical to restrict things that go against the government narrative. He's even used the term "social licenses." Yes, you heard that right. He wants a license on your ability to speak or share information. This is criminally insane and of course exactly the path of a global technocracy. Interestingly, both he and the opposition support this initiative. Not surprising. Australia is a WEF puppet state that has been following China's lead for years. From Darwin's smart city to dramatically insane lockdown restrictions. The rest of the world is being primed for the same, and fast. Suddenly, "free speech absolutism" is "free speech if we agree with you." This is similar to what we've seen on other social media networks in the past. Elon Musk recently met with Benjamin Netanyahu as Israel ramped up their propaganda. Now he's meeting with Ben Shapiro, the CIA loving goon to further propagate the public. World Economic Forum stooge and X CEO Linda Yaccarino recently wrote that the platform was going to crack down on "hate speech" (whatever that is) in order to maintain a "free speech platform." If that isn't Orwellian doublethink, we don't know what is. She claims other social medias are controlled by gatekeepers which they are. However, there's a new controlled "dream team" of gatekeepers bowing to Elon Musk which are ensuring the Limited Hangout operation maintains control. Most of the dream team have no idea they're part of it, they're just being used. They don't question anything that the new "Mainstream Alternative Media" says and they greatly help the propaganda being dispelled by X. X is being registered in many places as a bank. Combining social media and banking is essentially what the Chinese WeChat does and it's exactly how social credit got rolled out in China in the first place. China... The country gathering both digital and genetic data from Americans and worldwide. This is all part of the agenda of entrapping people on both sides of the political spectrum to accept the new "normal" of technocratic enslavement. From brain chips, self driving cars that drive you to the gulag, CBDCs, 15 Minute Cities to being silenced if you dare resist. In this video, we explain the psyop and where it's leading. Three news stories summarized & contextualized by analytic journalist Colin Wright.More than 230 convicted in Italy's maxi-trial against 'Ndrangheta mafiaSummary: On Monday, an Italian court convicted more than 230 of more than 330 suspected ‘Ndrangheta mafia members and their associates who were standing trial for charges ranging from drug trafficking to theft.Context: Among this group were a pair of mob bosses who received 30-year sentences and a well-known lawyer and former politician who was sentenced to 11-years in prison; the ‘Ndrangheta is generally considered to be the most powerful mafia in Italy, and while this trial won't severely hamper the group's current efforts, the last mafia trial of this scale in 1986 marked a downward turning point in the Cosa Nostra's influence, and prosecutors hope this case will do the same—though these rulings can be appealed twice before being fully locked in, so there's a chance that some or all of them will be changed before they're put into effect.—ReutersOne Sentence News is a reader-supported publication. Today, we have a special episode for you. The Code Conference wrapped up this week, and the finale included a rare interview from my Code co-host and CNBC correspondent Julia Boorstin with X CEO Linda Yaccarino. To say the sit-down with Elon Musk's No. 2 was confrontational would be an understatement.  Yaccarino appeared both unprepared to answer tough questions and very combative, especially when asked about comments from former trust and safety head Yoel Roth, who's become an outspoken critic of the direction of the company since Elon took over. Roth spoke onstage at Code with Kara Swisher just an hour before, where he warned Yaccarino of the risks of the job and spoke about the extreme harassment he's faced since leaving the company.  Yaccarino also gave us some updated stats on X user metrics and claimed the company would turn a profit in 2024. And of course, there were some very terse exchanges concerning whether Elon really plans to start charging a subscription fee to use the platform, if he seriously plans to sue the Anti-Defamation League, and the company's recent cuts to its election integrity team. It's a jaw-dropping interview, and you really have to listen to the whole thing. Credits: Decoder is a production of The Verge and is part of the Vox Media Podcast Network.
