Nick Melnyk took a chance in college and attended his first cycling class at the school's rec center. Monica the instructor, and bikes that go nowhere awakened his love of movement and nothing was ever the same after that.He began teaching various fitness formats and during his last college year heard about a new boutique studio opening and he applied to be front desk and instructor. It just so happened to be the very first CycleBar. Nick immediately fell in love with the community and after graduating in 2015 he joined the original CycleBar Franchising corporate team, taking the brand from 3 locations to the international brand it is today. As a FitPro Nick made his mark in the Cincinnati fitness scene as what was known as a CycleStar in those days, at Shred415 and other local studios. His experience both as a FitPro and working in Operations as he helped others open studios across the country gave him unique insight into the do's and don'ts of studio ownership. He knew early on that being an instructor would never be enough and studio ownership was his destiny. From investors, to partnerships that dissolved, to the increasingly high costs of opening a studio Nick was derailed from his dream time and time again but he did not give up. In February of 2023 Nyxx Studio opened in the community that raised this resilient FitPro. They offer rhythm based cycling classes and strength classes coming Spring 2024. James FitzGerald was the first-ever men's champion at the CrossFit Games back in 2007, and since then he's built a reputation as one of the fitness industry's most thoughtful and prolific coaches. The long term concept of his philosophy is to have people learn so that they never have to see you the fitness coach ever again. A controversial and very polarizing statement that you don't often hear in Fitness these days.As the Founder of OPEX Fitness, James has dedicated his life to bringing honor to the coaching profession. The OPEX Coaching Certificate Program (CCP) reflects his 25 plus years of coaching expertise and is set apart by providing comprehensive coaching theory as well as practical application of its principles. He has revolutionized personalized fitness through education both digitally and in person. It is an absolute honor to have James FitzGerald open Season 2 with Episode 21. Some of the concepts & ideas we discuss will be hard for all of us to hear. It was hard for me, but I am really proud of this episode and this conversation. Change isn't easy as a FIT PRO and James will challenge everything you think you know about Fitness.I have never wanted to invite people on the podcast who will just agree with me. I invited James to come on because his ideas allow me to think about the work we do as Fit Pros differently. I hope you will listen and share your feedback with me on instagram! In 2008 she opened her first high energy pilates studio and by 2009 she was using her credit cards to buy the reformers needed to open her second studio with only $217 left in her bank account. But as her business grew Amy knew the traditional reformer machine was missing essential elements she wanted to incorporate in her classes. Fueled by her continued study of traditional Pilates and the desire to share wellness through movement far and wide, inspiration struck and in 2010, she sketched the now-patented WundaFormer, and envisioned WundaBar Pilates which currently has 10 studio locations in CA, NY and NJ.In 2017, Amy translated the in-studio experience on the WundaFormer to a repertoire that can be done on the mat, extending the reach and benefits of the WundaBar Pilates Method beyond the studio walls with WundaBar On Demand. In the middle of the Pandemic, this Pilates visionary and proud mother of two, received devastating news and was diagnosed with a Rare aggressive cervical cancer.Amy Jordan's guiding belief when it comes to wellness is that You are perfect wherever you are today, and her goal is to empower you to have the best experience in your own skin!Featured on the today show, livestrong.com, shape magazine, forbes, pop sugar, well + good to name a few, it is an honor to welcome Amy Jordan to creating the 4% podcast on this FINAL EPISODE OF SEASON 1!Don't forget to leave a review of the podcast on spotify & apple podcasts!Learn more about our guest:https://www.instagram.com/amyjordanofficial/https://www.wundabar.com/https://www.instagram.com/wundabarpilates/Check out Amy's Newest Invention: WUNDACOREhttps://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wundacore/wundacore-resistance-ringhttps://wundacore.com/

Growing up in Zurich, her 3rd grade dream was to be an opera singer. Her family moved to California and at the age of 10 she auditioned and made a production of the nutcracker, and Anna Kaiser's love affair with dance began. In 1996 the summer between her junior and senior year in high school, Anna taught her first dance fitness class where the intensity and rigor of what it takes to be in a dance company was removed and it was all about the joy of moving and experiencing dance as art.Raised by a single mom who supported her dream, passion and potential, off to college she went where she continued to dance and sharpen that innate connection of how the body works from the inside and out.In 2002 she moved to NYC and started working at a popular gym teaching various modalities and training hundreds of clients. In 2009 she discovered high intensity interval training and a spark of ingenuity struck. It led her for the next 2 years on a journey to develop her vision of creating a comprehensive program that merged the benefits of a personal trainer at a gym and the community culture and energy of boutique fitness all rooted in dance. In 2013 Anna opened up her very first studio in Connecticut and eventually she grew Anna Kaiser Technique what we now know as AKT to a huge national franchised brand. In 2018 she sold AKT to Xponential and has now launched a new lifestyle and fitness brand.Anna Kaiser Studios in CT, NYC, East Hampton and virtually, combine the electricity and passion of group classes with the benefits of individualized, boutique fitness. There is no question Anna Kaiser is a power house Fit Pro & Entrepreneur & Master Motivator. She has trained clients such as Shakira, Kelly Ripa, Karly Kloss, Hilary Duff, SJP and she has made the list of the 100 most influential people in fitness many times. Amanda Brabec is a fitness instructor & personal trainer based in Boston whose mission is to make fitness FUN & approachable for everyone. Almost five years ago, she took a leap of faith, did a local fitness instructor certification & instantly fell in love with the connection & empowerment created in a group fitness setting. Shortly after, she left her corporate marketing & event planning career to pursue fitness full time. After a few years, she noticed just how fat-phobic & diet-centric the industry still can be, and how damaging those messages can be to clients so she is launching a group body image workshop this January. She is the host of the Build with Brabec podcast, a cycling instructor at The HandleBar, a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist, and offers virtual workouts on Youtube & her own platform.IG: instagram.com/buildwithbrabecPodcast: https://anchor.fm/buildwithbrabecOn Demand Workouts & Body Image Workshop: interval.com/buildwithbrabecFREE MONTH with CODE: BUILDWITHBRABEC
