Surah Al-Kahf (الكهف) is the 18th chapter of the Qur'an. The surah titled in English means “The Cave” and it consists of 110 verses. This Surah mentions 3 stories, the people of the cave, the story of Musa (عليه السلام), and of Dhu'l Qarnayn. It warns against the dangers of pleasures and it's allure which can cause people to behave in strange ways that go against teachings of Islam. It can lead to focusing on maximizing desires of the world neglecting our duty to Allah (سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ).These stories teach Muslims the value of faith, knowledge, patience, and the shortness of time on this planet.“Wealth and children are [but] adornment of the worldly life. But the enduring good deeds are better to your Lord for reward and better for [one's] hope.”Surah Kahf Ayat 46Recited by Omar Hisham Al Arabi
Prayer is an important part of a person's relationship with Allah. It serves as a reminder of our dependence on Him, and as a means of seeking His help in times of sickness. Additionally, research has demonstrated the positive effects of faith and prayer on the recovery of the sick, with studies showing that prayer reduces symptoms and accelerates treatment. Allah is the One who hears and responds to the prayers of His people. The Qur'an provides examples of those who have prayed to Allah, such as Ayyub, Dhu'n-Nun and Zakariyya, who were all answered and saved from their grief. Person should not only pray for physical needs but also for guidance and spiritual growth, and Allah will respond to that prayer as well. The Qur'an provides assurance that Allah is always near and will answer the call of the caller if he/she calls upon Him.

Sacred Months in Islam: Dhu al-Qadah, Dhu’l-Hijjah, Muharram and Rajab The post Muharram and Ashoora appeared first on Mahmood Habib Masjid and Islamic Centre - We came to give, not to take..
Hello Everyone,In this episode I have talked about :Hajj 2022 news update today english -June 30 2022.The Hajj (/hɑːdʒ/;[1] Arabic: حَجّ Ḥajj; sometimes also spelled Hadj, Hadji or Haj in English) is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia,[2] the holiest city for Muslims. Hajj is a mandatory religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all adult Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey, and of supporting their family during their absence from home.[3][4][5]In Islamic terminology, Hajj is a pilgrimage made to the Kaaba, the "House of God", in the sacred city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, alongside Shahadah (oath to God), Salat (prayer), Zakat (almsgiving) and Sawm (fasting of Ramadan). The Hajj is a demonstration of the solidarity of the Muslim people, and their submission to God (Allah).[6][7] The word Hajj means "to attend a journey", which connotes both the outward act of a journey and the inward act of intentions.[8]The rites of pilgrimage are performed over five to six days, extending from the 8th to the 12th or 13th[9] of Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar.[10] Because the Islamic calendar is lunar and the Islamic year is about eleven days shorter than the Gregorian year, the Gregorian date of Hajj changes from year to year. In 2022 AD (1443 AH), Dhu al-Hijjah extends from 30 June to 29 July. The Hajj is associated with the life of Islamic prophet Muhammad from the 7th century AD, but the ritual of pilgrimage to Mecca is considered by Muslims to stretch back thousands of years to the time of Abraham. During Hajj, pilgrims join processions of millions of people, who simultaneously converge on Mecca for the week of the Hajj, and perform a series of rituals: each person walks counter-clockwise seven times around the Kaaba (a cube-shaped building and the direction of prayer for Muslims), walks briskly back and forth between the hills of Safa and Marwah seven times, then drinks from the Zamzam Well, goes to the plains of Mount Arafat to stand in vigil, spends a night in the plain of Muzdalifa, and performs symbolic Stoning of the Devil by throwing stones at three pillars. After the sacrifice of an animal (which can be accomplished by using a voucher), the Pilgrims then are required to either shave or trim their heads (if male) or trim the ends of their hair (if female). A celebration of the four-day global festival of Eid al-Adha proceeds afterwards.[11][12][13]Muslims may also undertake an Umrah (Arabic: عُمرَة), or "lesser pilgrimage" to Mecca at other times of the year. However, the Umrah is not a substitute for the Hajj and Muslims are still obligated to perform the Hajj at some other point in their lifetime if they have the means to do so.[14]According to the official published statistics between 2000 and 2019,[15][16][17] the average number of attendees is 2,269,145 per year, of which 1,564,710 come from outside Saudi Arabia and 671,983 are local. The year 2012 marks the highest number of participants with 3,161,573.[18]In June 2020, while not cancelling the Hajj outright, the Saudi Government announced that they would only welcome "very limited numbers" of pilgrims who are residents of Saudi Arabia due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.[19] Similar restrictions applied in 2021, but women were permitted to attend without a male guardian (mehrem) provided they went in a trustworthy group.Dr. Afshan Hashmi's Radio & TV Show is broadcast live Wednesdays at 7PM ET.Dr. Afshan Hashmi's TV Show is viewed on Talk 4 TV (www.talk4tv.com).Dr. Afshan Hashmi's Radio Show is broadcast on W4WN Radio - Women 4 Women Network (www.w4wn.com) part of Talk 4 Radio (www.talk4radio.com) on the Talk 4 Media Network (www.talk4media.com). As Imam ʿAlī continued to grow and mature, his dedication to Islam and to his spiritual brother, Prophet Muḥammad also grew. The Prophet relied upon Imam ʿAlī in critical junctures of the growth of Islam in Mecca, such as inviting and cooking food for the invitation to the Quraysh to Islam in the event known as Da'wat Dhu'l Asheerah. He also showed his love for Islam and his dedication by sacrificing his life on the bed of Prophet Muḥammad as he left on the migration towards Medina.
Chapter 21, The Prophets, is one of the longer chapters of the Quran. It contains 112 verses and its title comes from the subject matter from verses 48 to 91, stories, and lessons from the lives of many of the more notable prophets. This chapter was revealed in Mecca and thus it stresses that Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, was a human being like all the earlier prophets and that his message was the same, the oneness or unity of God. It also warns, as do many chapters, of the inevitability of the Day of Judgement.Verses 1 – 9 Accusations and liesGod warns that the Day of Accountability is getting closer, yet many people are heedless. They ridicule the warnings and warners that come to them and continue to play, their hearts preoccupied with worldly affairs. In their private conversations, they say that Muhammad is a just human being like themselves, and that he is trying to trick them with witchcraft. God says to Prophet Muhammad, tell them that I (God) hear everything they think is said in secrecy. Many accuse Prophet Muhammad of having muddled dreams, or making up false stories, or being a poet. The disbelievers ask for a sign, but God mentions that all the cities and towns destroyed previously asked for and received signs yet they did not believe. The disbelievers dispute as to how a human being can be a prophet yet the previous prophets were all mortal men. God fulfilled His promise to them, they were saved, as were those who believed in them but many were destroyed for their disbelief. Verses 10- 24 Falsehood blown awayWe (God) have sent you a reminder. Prior nations were destroyed because of their iniquities. Other communities were raised up in their place. They tried to escape when they felt Our (Gods) wrath upon them. (They were told) Go back to your houses and play. They admitted their wrongdoing and continued to do so until they were extinguished, just like a fire. Heaven and earth and all that lies between them were not created to be a playground. Falsehood is blown away by the truth, so woe to those who have created false gods. Those who are with God worship and praise him tirelessly. Do your false deities have the power to raise the dead? There is proof and there is the reminder (the Quran) yet most people do not recognise the truth and turn away.Verses 25- 47 Every soul will taste deathAll the prophets were sent with the same message; there is no deity but God, so worship Him alone. Despite having received the true message people tell lies against God. These evil doers are rewarded with Hell. Do the disbelievers not consider the world around them? The heavens and the earth were once one mass split asunder by God; all living creatures have their origin in water. The earth is covered with firm mountains and broad pathways and the sky is a canopy. God created the night and the day; the celestial bodies move in their orbits. Every soul will taste death. Everyone is tested and then they will return to God. The Day will arrive suddenly and the disbelievers will be powerless to turn it away. The previous messengers were ridiculed but in the end those who ridiculed were overcome by what they mocked. Invented gods cannot defend themselves so how will they defend the disbelievers? They are warned but refuse to hear, and then if even a breath of punishment touches them they cry to God. Be warned that on the Day of Judgement the scales will be set up and God will take account.Verses 48 – 70 Brief stories of the prophetsGod says He gave Moses and his brother Aaron the scripture that distinguishes between right and wrong and the Quran is also a blessed message. God sends it down yet some people continue to deny it. Long ago right judgment was bestowed upon Abraham. He questioned his father and his people about their clear idolatry but they answered that they only followed the ways of their ancestors. Abraham said to them that their true Lord was the Lord of the heavens and the earth that had created them and that he (Abraham) would plot against the idols as soon as he could find the opportunity. Abraham destroyed all the idols except the largest one. He left it whole. When they returned to find the carnage the people remembered Abraham's threats so they called him and questioned him. He asked them to question instead the remaining idol, pointing out the absurdity of their beliefs. At first Abraham's people admitted their errors but then they were seized with pride and obstinacy. They threw Abraham into the midst of a fire but God kept the fire cool. They planned to hurt Abraham but God made them the losers.Verses 71 – 77 God saves those who believeProphet Abraham and his nephew Lot were delivered from harm and sent to a land that God had blessed for the entire world. Here Abraham was blessed even more with his righteous son Isaac and his grandson Jacob. They were righteous, doing good deeds, establishing the prayer, giving alms and worshipping in the correct way. Lot was given sound judgment and knowledge and God saved him from the city of wicked deeds. Even further back in the past Noah called out to God and God accepted his prayer against the unbelievers. Prophet Noah and the believers were saved from the great calamity (the flood) but those who had denied the warnings were drowned.Verses 78 – 88 …And those who cry to Him in distressGod blessed Prophet David and Solomon with wisdom. God was watching them when they were trying to judge a case about sheep straying a night and He made Solomon understand the case in a better way. However both were given wisdom in abundance. It was God who made the mountains and the birds sing His (God's) praises with David and it was also God who taught David to make coats of armour for protection in battle. God harnessed the wind for Solomon and made some of the jinn subservient to him. God asks us to remember Job, who cried to his Lord when he was afflicted. God heard his cry and removed his suffering. And remember Ishmael, Idris, and Dhu'l- Kifl. They were all steadfast and were admitted into God's mercy. And remember the man in the whale? He was angry but admitted his wrong and God saved him from his distress. God saves the faithful.Verses 89 – 112 Great news for the believersGod blessed Zachariah and accepted his prayer for a child. He was given John (the Baptist). Remember the one who guarded her chastity (Mary, mother of Jesus). God made her and her son a sign for all people. God calls all the prophets a single community and says worship Me alone. If a believer does righteous deeds the angels will record it. Towards the end of time the people of Gog and Magog will be let loose to swarm across the land. On the Day of Judgement the eyes of the disbelievers will stare in horror and say, "We were wrong". But the people destined for Paradise will be kept far away from Hell; they will not even hear a sound of it. This day of great terror will not grieve them and the angels will greet them. Surely this is great news for the believers. My (God's) righteous servants will inherit the earth.Muhammad has been sent as a blessing for all the worlds and was told to warn them (humankind) asking them to affirm their belief that God is one. _______________________________________By Aisha Stacey (© 2015 IslamReligion.com)Copyright © 2006 - 2021 IslamReligion.com. The first Friday night (the night between Thursday and Friday) of Rajab-i Sherîf is called the Raghâib Night, for Allâhu ta'âlâ bestows raghîbats, that is, blessings and gifts, on His human creatures throughout that night. Any invocations pronounced on that night will not be rejected, and acts of worship, such as namâz, fasting and alms, will be rewarded a number of times better than usual. He (Allah) will forgive those who respect that night. In the early ages of Islam, and before Islam, it was harâm (forbidden) to war in the months of Rajab, Dhu'lqa'da, Dhu'lhijja and Muharram. It is written in the eighth paragraph of the second chapter of the book Riyâd-un-nâsikhîn: “It is writen in the Tafsîrs of Zâhidî and Alî Jurjânî and in all the Tafsîrs that before Islam the Arabs used to change the places of the months in order to be able to make war in the months of Rajab and Muharram by putting them forward or backward. Rasûlullah, when he performed the Farewell Hajj with ninety thousand Muslims in the tenth year of the Hegira, said: “O my Ashâb! We are performing the hajj exactly at its proper time. The sequence of months is exactly as it was when Allâhu ta'âlâ created it!” In the year when 'Abdullah got married the places of the months were wrong. The month of Rajab was in the place of Jamâ'zil'âkhir. That is, it was one month ahead. Then, the transition of the Prophet's blessed light to our mother Âmina is in today's month of Jamâ'zil'âkhir. It is not on the Ragâib Night. Endless Bliss First Fasicle | Page 231
Russell Masters, Director of IT and Analytics at DHU, a provider to the UK National Health Service, who formerly spent significant time at Rolls-Royce involved in digital innovation efforts, talks with Sarah about the call for leaders to become more digitally adept. “Itr ki khushboo, sivayion ki mithaas, Naye naye kapde, haathon mein mehndi aur jeb mein dher saari eedi… Aisa hota hai humaare India mein Eid ka Tyohaar… “ Eid is a Muslim holy festival. There are two Eid holidays: Eid ul Fitr and Eid al Adha. The Hijri calendar, also known as the Islamic calendar, has 12 months but with 354 or 355 days. First, let's discuss Eid ul Fitr. The fasting month of Ramadan comes to an end on Eid al-Fitr, which means "feast of the breaking of the fast." During this month, people fast which is also known as Roza. During Roza, Muslims do not consume anything during the day. They only eat Sehri in the morning before sunrise and Iftaari in the evening after sunset. Without the moon, Eid celebrations would be incomplete. The purpose of this month's fasting and worship is to get closer to Allah and to show compassion to those in need. Eid ul Adha, Bakr, or Eid ul Zuha Eid means "festival of sacrifice." This festival takes place on the 10th day of Dhu'l-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar. Muslims all across the world celebrate Eid ul Adha to honor Prophet Ibrahim's (Abraham's) sacrifice, which he made following Allah's order as a believer in Him. Muslims believe that God tested the Prophet by commanding him to sacrifice his firstborn son, Ismail (Ishmail). Ibrahim followed Allah's commands and laid down his beloved son for sacrifice, but at the last moment, Ismail was replaced with a sheep. The completion of Hajj, a five-day pilgrimage to Mecca that every able-bodied Muslim is obligated to accomplish once in their lifetime, is also commemorated on Eid al Adha. The journey is said to cleanse the soul of sins and establish a spirit of equality, sisterhood, and brotherhood. Men, women, and children dress up in their nicest attire for Eid Ul Zuha, and wonderful dishes like Biryani and Kebabs are prepared in homes. Muslim families throw a feast and give out gifts to the less fortunate. Children are also given gifts known as "Eddie" in certain Muslim traditions. Listen to Dr Musharraf Hussain sharing his thoughts and analysis of Surat Al-Fajr. The surat begins by taking four oaths to draw our attention: the dawn, the time when the first light appears, the ten sacred nights of the twelfth lunar month of Dhu'l-Hijja, the month of pilgrimage, and the mystery of odd and even numbers. The odd may hint to Allah, who is the One, the Unique and cannot be compared with anything. In contrast, the even reminds how creation is not singular or one, only Allah is One. The surat reassures the Messenger ﷺ after mentioning these awesome phenomena, what you face in Makkah is what earlier prophets faced, so be patient. Reference is made to the ancient cities of Iram in the Arabian desert, Petra in modern-day Jordan, and the splendid temples of ancient Egypt with their tall columns. The surat points out how humans are unthankful to their Lord. At the slight loss of wealth or pain, they grumble and become impatient. They are sternly warned and told to renounce their bad habits. However, those who are mindful of Allah are promised a welcome of utter bliss.
In 2014, a 22-year-old woman was taken into custody for unpaid fines in Western Australia. Less than 48 hours later, she was dead. It took 6 years and a lot of work on the part of her family to even make a dent in the policies that led to her death. But will these changes be enough?Read more on the societal issues surrounding Ms. Dhu’s deathhttps://www.researchgate.net/publication/320438109_Justice_for_Ms_Dhu_Accounting_for_Indigenous_Deaths_in_Custody_in_AustraliaLearn more about confronting your own racismhttps://www.showingupforracialjustice.org/Music by Scott Buckley
By Imam Al-Haddad. Read by a group of Yemeni. As with all the litanies of Imam al-Haddad, al-Wird al-Latif is made up of nothing but the ‘prayers’ of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the formulae that he instructed his community to recite mornings and evenings. It is therefore strictly in conformity with the sunna, and once it is well-rehearsed and becomes regular practice, one can rest assured that he is following the ‘Prophetic’ instructions as to which adhkar he should use to begin and end his day. It may be used for protection from various inward and outward perils, for curing certain illnesses, for increasing certain kinds of provision, for haraka, and for the recompense promised for the recitation of each of its letters. Knowing this, Muslims all over the world have always recited both the Qur’an and the Prophetic invocations in their original Arabic, even when unable to understand the language, to make sure that they lose none of the secrets and baraka, much of which are lost in translation. Brief Biography of Imam al-Haddad (may Allah have mercy on him) Imam Abdullah al-Haddad was the renewer of the twelfth Islamic century. He was renowned, and deservedly so, for the breadth of his knowledge and his manifest sanctity. The profundity of his influence on Muslims is reflected by the fact that his books are still in print through out the Islamic world. He was born in Tarim, in the hills of Hadramaut, one of the southerly regions of the Arabian peninsula, and grew up in an environment where the accent was upon piety, frugality, erudition, and an uncompromising thirst for gnosis fma’rifal. His lineage is traced back to the Prophet (peace be upon him) through Imam al-Husayn. His illustrious ancestors, the ‘Alawi sadat, had for centuries produced generation after generation of great scholars, gnostics and summoners to the Straight Path. Imam al-Haddad died on the eve of the 7th of Dhu’l Qa’da, 1132 A.H., having spent his life bringing people to their Lord through his oral and written teaching, and his exemplary life. For a more thorough biography of this great Imam, see “The Sufi Sage of Arabia” by Dr. Mostafa Badawi. The following was compiled by Ustadh Amjad Tarsin, Muslim Chaplin at University of Toronto and SeekersHub teacher.

"For the wise, to imagine is to see." ―Samael Aun Weor "The key to success in worship lies in meditative reflection (fikrat)…whoever persists in such reflection in the heart will behold the invisible realm in the spirit. Whoever contemplates God through keeping watch over the thoughts which pass through his heart will be exalted by God in all of his outward deeds." ―Dhu'l-Nun al-Misri Upon attaining serenity of mind, the practitioner of meditation must develop and rely on developing the penetrating power of insight, known in some circles by the term clairvoyance (clear vision) and vipassana (special insight). The Gnostic tradition denominates this faculty as imagination, the ability to visualize and imagine conscious imagery in order to directly perceive the object of meditation and arrive at spiritual understanding. This lecture explores the Sufi writings of Al-Qushayri and the five types of clairvoyance (or imagination) within Gnostic psychology.
This week on Curtain the podcast, in just the past week three more examples have emerged of police targeting Aboriginal people. Firstly in the attempt to imprison the cousin of Ms Dhu, again for unpaid fines, despite all that has happened to the family and the situation you'll hear. A WA Snr Sergeant has struck with a vehicle a young 18 year old leaving him in hospital and the community of Palm Island has been awarded 30 million dollars, after the QPS was found to have breached the Racial Discrimination Act. It sets the scene for what its like for Aboriginal people dealing with police in Australia and shines further light on how they handled the case of Curtain

Ms Dhu's death could have been prevented if she had been given antibiotics, and found police acted unprofessionally and inhumanely - that was the finding of the coronial inquest into the death of Aboriginal woman, Ms Dhu, just 22 years of age.One of the most staunch campaigners and advocates for justice for Ms Dhu, is her grandmother, Aunty Carole Roe, and I had a chance to speak with her recently.
This looks at 9:36-37 specifically – where the Traditionalist claims the Quran speaks about four sacred months (Dhu al Qa’dah, Dhu al Hijjah, Muharram, and Rajab).
