'Washing your hands in the morning on condition that the washing will be for the entire day'
Do you frequently find yourself looking at the clock and saying, "AHHH!! I have no time!! I've wasted my entire day!!!" If this is you, this is the episode for you! Here are some mindset downloads based on neuroplasticity techniques to require your brain to hold different beliefs—(on purpose! Very very very intentionally!!!) and require the actually incredibly neutral trigger point of looking at a clock. This simple shift I talk about in this episode creates nervous system safety, supports unshaming, and is aligned with radical self-acceptance... and also break away from all-or-nothing thinking!! Also, like, hi, your brain has a non-linear perception of time, remember?!?! So when we say, "I don't have enough time"... TIME IS A CONSTRUCT! Have you seen how fast time goes when you hyperfocus?!!??! Have you seen how slow it goes when you're bored!?!?! We can work *with* this part of our brains instead!

How to stop negative things from DERAILING your entire day…for more, visit www.aaronglover.com*This Transcript was generated by a digital service and may contain grammatical errors or significant differences from the original video*So how do we keep little disruptions or distractions from derailing our entire day, if you're anything like me, if something goes wrong in the morning, or when you're getting ready, especially if you're behind on time, it can just mess with your entire day, then you're just kind of mad at the world because something went wrong or something unexpected happened. You're mad driving around while you're going to work or getting your kids to school. I don't know if that happens to y'all, but happens to me all the time. It's something today actually happen as I was getting ready, I go, I grabbed my favorite shirt out of the closet. And I think Man, it's gonna be a good day. I absolutely love this shirt, that shirt that makes you feel good. Put it on, I get halfway down, buttoning it up, and there's a button missing. Okay, number one, I'm already behind on the day number two, I'm mad that I can't wear the shirt today. And I'm mad that it's messed up. And I could have let that kind of mess with my entire day. But you know what I decided instead, instead of focusing on all the negative things, I was like, I'm gonna put a spin on it. Let's focus on all the good things. Do I know anybody who can fix this shirt? Yep, problem solved. Then number two, I went in, grabbed my closet, opened it up, looked at it. I have a closet full of clothes. I'm blessed to have a closet full of clothes. So I was like today is gonna be a good day. I don't care about that distraction that happened. I'm not going to let something so trivial. Set the the the mood for my entire day. Instead of focusing on the negative instead of focusing on the bad I decided let's focus on the positive. Let's focus on the good. So why don't you try that out? The next time it happens, something goes wrong, something distracts you tries to derail you, instead of focusing on the bad. Take a moment and focus on the good and see how that affects the rest of your day.
"It's frustrating," says Kaitlyn. Who wouldn't be frustrated? Watching your mind circle around the next opportunity to eat like a moth doing laps around a garden light...is hardly the fully-lived life most of us want to be experiencing. Let's look at how we can help Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn has already made some progress, including a recent win with handling a stressful day without a binge. She's worried that it will be a single outlier experience, though, and wants more strategies to help her feel in control of her eating, as opposed to the sense that eating is in control of her. If You Want to Flatten Your Glucose Curve, You Should: Be on the lookout for the most common signs that you are on a glucose rollercoaster Work to understand what is happening in your body and get your blood sugar levels balanced Use Jessie's 10 simple principles to regulate your plate and regulate your blood sugar Most of us are on a blood sugar rollercoaster but don't even know it. Understanding your blood sugar, and flattening your glucose curve, is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health and longevity. I believe flattening your glucose curve is one of the most important things we can do for our health, which is why I have invited glucose expert and brand new author Jessie Inchauspé to the show. Glucose Revolution with Jessie Inchauspé Jessie Inchauspé is a biochemist, bestselling author, and founder of the Glucose Goddess movement. She's on a mission to translate cutting-edge science into easy advice to help people improve their physical and mental health. She holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from King's College London, and a master of science degree in biochemistry from Georgetown University. Her new book, Glucose Revolution, is on a mission to bring knowledge and understanding to the masses. Your Blood Sugar is in Charge Did you know that 90% of adults experience at least one glucose spike a day, with most of us not even realizing it's happening? Your blood sugar is a major factor in how you feel every single day, from your energy levels to your digestive health and brain function. This is why it is so important to understand what is happening in your body so that you can see the warning signs before it is too late. Blood sugar spikes are not only bad for our physical health, they can also take a damaging role in our mental health. Your symptoms are your body speaking to you, and with the right information, you can get to the root cause of your symptoms and fix them for good. How to Take Away Sugar's Power You don't need an expensive CGM to understand what is happening with your blood sugar. Simple habits like which order you eat your food or walking after a meal can have a huge impact on your body's ability to regulate glucose and avoid a glucose spike. Jessie's hacks are simple, cost-effective, and scientifically backed, and there is no situation that which her suggestions would not be beneficial. While changing your relationship with sugar can be scary, using these hacks will make breaking up with sugar less painful, and give you a whole new experience in life. Finding a way to eat sugar in a way that does not continue the cycle of addiction through simple and easy hacks will make you feel more amazing than you ever thought possible. Which of Jessie's hacks are you going to try first? Share your glucose rollercoaster story with me in the comments section of the episode page. Quotes: “People think they are going to willpower their way through these symptoms, through the blood sugar rollercoaster. And then you realize, it's not a willpower issue. You do not have to feel ashamed or feel bad or feel guilty that you are having these crashes and want to eat sugar. Because there is an underlying issue.” (12:48) “There is nothing sexier than a flat glucose curve on your CGM.” (21:09) - Dr. Mariza “Hunger, cravings and fatigue, those are the three most common signs that people experience every day. And when you learn to flatten your glucose curve, those go away.” (23:27) “I want people to think about these [hacks] as tools in their toolbox to use whenever it's easy, whenever it makes sense, whenever it doesn't become something too stressful.” (29:44) “You have the power to turn back the clock and reverse these issues. And that's why it is so freaking important for people to know this science. Because it is life-changing and it doesn't cost a thing.” (42:23) “It is an issue of public health. People need to know this, because we are all being affected by this glucose rollercoaster and most of us have no clue it is happening, and we are not taught how to get off of it. But it's simple!” (42:39) In This Episode Why your blood sugar cravings are not an issue of willpower but biology (16:19) The three most common signs that can tell you if you are on a glucose rollercoaster (22:40) Hacks to help you feel amazing and will be the biggest needle movers for your glucose curve (24:25) How the time and order in which you eat impact your bodies ability to handle sugar (34:03) What you can expect to feel like after you have gotten off the glucose rollercoaster (39:15) Why it is not about calorie deficiency but about what you put on your plate (47:38) Resources Mentioned: Dr. Mariza's Smoothie Guide Use Promo Code ‘podcast' for 10% Off Your Order at the Essentially Whole Store Here Glucose Revolution by Jessie Inchauspé Follow Jessie on Instagram Other Resources: Check out the full show notes page Keep up with everything Dr. Mariza Follow Dr. Mariza on Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Youtube Podcast production & marketing support by the team at Counterweight Creative Related Episodes Essentially You Episode #372: What to Eat on Your Plate to Balance Blood Sugar Levels for the Entire Day with Kelly Leveque Essentially You Episode #284: What a Continuous Glucose Monitor Taught Me About My Metabolic Health
If You Want To Empower Your Plate to Balance Your Blood Sugar, You Should: Focus on the Fab 4 of protein, fats, fiber, and leafy greens Be aware of hidden liquid sugars that could be causing internal chaos Understand the science of what is happening in your body through tools like a CGM It has never been more confusing to figure out what to eat. It seems like every ‘health guru' out there has a different opinion, which is why it is no wonder that millions of people fail at these fad diets every single year. The truth is, no fad diet is sustainable. Controlling your health through what you eat comes down to three simple truths. Hormones matter more than calories, real whole foods are best, and it is always important to take your blood sugar balance into account when it comes to what you are feeding yourself and your family. The Fab 4 Fundamentals with Kelly LeVeque Kelly LeVeque is a holistic nutritionist, wellness expert, celebrity health coach, and the best-selling author of Body Love and Body Love Every Day. She has a deep desire to help her clients through her passion for human nutrition and curiosity about how the human body works. She helps people understand the latest research and rationale behind important nutrition principles and provide delicious recipes and recommended products to fuel properly. Her Fab 4 Fundamentals course simplifies the science of nutrition to empower participants to confidently take charge of their health. Not Another Fad Diet Maintaining blood sugar balance through real food is critical for supporting brain function, mood, energy, reproductive health, and overall metabolism. While the fad diets out there will try and convince you that you need a magic pill to achieve this, all you really need is a whole food and an understanding of what is happening with your blood sugar throughout the day. Kelly's Fab 4 Philosophy focuses on proteins, fats, fiber, and leafy greens to help both adults and children balance their blood sugar through food and create generational, long-lasting health. When it comes to creating metabolic flexibility, you need to be strategic about what you are putting on your plate so that you can show up for yourself and others. Your Kids Are Learning From Their Plates The Fab 4 Philosophy isn't just for adults. Kelly knows firsthand that what your kids are ingesting, especially liquid sugar, may be having a much bigger effect on your child than you realize. Kelly is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to regulating your child's blood sugar, while you can make healthy decisions for your family knowing the why behind it. So much of our mood, concentration, and focus, have so much to do with what we eat. If you are able to naturally balance your blood sugar, you can stop feeling like you are on a rollercoaster and stabilize your metabolism so that you can show up today, tomorrow, and far beyond. Are you ready to balance your and your family's blood sugar through simple, natural whole foods? Share how you are working to regulate and support your blood sugar and metabolic flexibility with me in the comments section of the episode page. Quotes: "Blood sugar balance can be supported by the food that we eat if we are eating a mix of macronutrients." (9:32) "We cannot think about sugar and sweetened foods as just 'this is something that makes us gain weight. We have to think about all of the detrimental effects that are contributing to our overall well-being." (16:45) "All your children really want is quality time with you. And guess what? You are going to give them better quality time when your blood sugar is balanced and you are not craving, not crashing, not irritable when you can focus. Because all of these same effects I am talking about for children when they have proper blood sugar balance, we have as adults." (20:47) "I am not a huge fan of liquid sugar and I am looking to avoid them as much as possible based on the fact that I know that not only am I going to deal with a toddler who is having a tantrum or needs to sleep it off, it just creates that blood sugar rollercoaster." (41:51) “You are not doing this for your vanity, you're doing it for generational health. Health over generations that you are able to gift your child.” (50:32) In This Episode The #1 thing you need to learn about what is happening with your blood sugar (11:05) Why the first meal of the day really is the most important when it comes to your health (21:33) Learn why liquid sugars are the silent culprits to your unstable blood sugar levels (27:45) What you should be feeding your children in order to protect them from unstable blood sugar (38:21) How protein can protect you and your family from blood sugar chaos (52:45) Resources Mentioned: Use Promo Code ‘podcast' for 10% Off Your Order at the Essentially Whole Store Here Get Dr. Mariza's Smoothie and Shake Free Ebook Here Kelly LeVeque Website Fab 4 Smoothie Recipes Other Resources: Check out the full show notes page Keep up with everything Dr. Mariza Follow Dr. Mariza on Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Youtube Podcast production & marketing support by the team at Counterweight Creative Related Episodes Essentially You Episode #370: How Our Daily Food Choices Make or Break Our Energy Levels and The Number 1 Thing to Overcome Chronic Fatigue with Ari Whitten

Improving your morning routine can help you reach your goals. Want to know the secret to a great morning? A great morning routine, of course! Most of us understand the value of starting the day the right way, but it's still incredibly easy to get off track when it comes to sticking to a routine. I think it happens because we aren't held accountable for the morning tasks we do—or they're tasks that we don't exactly care about. Other times, we haven't visualized all the benefits we'll receive when we thoroughly follow our routines. It's normal to stumble, but we need to create more accountability for ourselves. It plays a huge role in keeping us on track toward achieving our goals. Personally, I've found that part of my system involves sharing my goals with others. For you, it may mean tracking your activities or blocking out time to get your tasks done. Are you waking up earlier than others in your household in order to enjoy some quiet, introspective time? “Most of us understand the value of starting off the day the right way, but it's still incredibly easy to get off track when it comes to sticking to a routine.” One of my goals now—and one I still struggle with—is journaling every day. I want to put all my thoughts, ideas, and gratitude into one place so I can come back and reflect, as it's an area of my life where I often feel scattered. That's what I'll be holding myself accountable for through our membership group, Maintain Your Momentum, which just started a 66-day challenge. Books like “The One Thing” can help you turn baby steps into lifelong habits, while “The Miracle Morning for Real Estate Agents” can help you jumpstart your day and keep you on track. I also turn to page 308 from “The Millionaire Real Estate Agent” often to remind myself of the energy plan. If you think through all five of the energies and work with them each day, you'll set yourself up for success. What's your morning routine? How are you accomplishing it? What do you hope to improve? I'd love to hear from you and find out more about how you're meeting your goals. Until then, I hope my blog has helped you think a little more about your day-to-day routines, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
I was recently prompted by my mentor to document my entire day and week to see exactly where my time goes. In this episode? I share with you the 3 big WOW moments for me when I did this activity, and why I'm not exactly proud of how I've structured my day, and the changes I'm going to make.
Bridgeport Mayor Ganim and New Haven Mayor Elicker both called in to talk about Halloween, trick-or-treating, and their favorite candy. After a brief argument over their chosen candies, both mayors shared the plans their cities have to keep residents safe, while still enjoying the holiday. (0:00) Chaz and AJ wanted to do a quick segment about small things that ruin your day. AJ went first, so the segment was not quick, because he's bothered by so many things every day. (12:55) Live Nation's Jimmy Koplik officially announced the Lynyrd Skynyrd show for next summer, which he booked just because Governor Lamont asked for it. Chaz and AJ then took calls from the Tribe about the CT shows they've seen, and found a number of Tribe members who remember Sammy Hagar being booed off the stage in the early 80's, opening for ZZ Top. (15:52) Joe "the weed guy" was on to explain the importance of Governor Lamont signing a hemp cultivation bill, and Derby mayor "Zeke" was on to talk about his bout with COVID-19. (33:16) Dumb Ass News - A negative Yelp review ended in a fistfight between the restaurant owner and the poster. It turns out the original review was personally motivated. (45:47) President Trump addresses his recovery from COVID-19, using "Macho Man" at rallies, and a quick update from a confused Joe Biden. Could you do an entire 24 hours with no phone, tv or computer? What would be the benefits of this? What would you have to do to "prepare" to go a full day without access to technology? How would it make you feel closer and also make you feel more distant from people? We explore this topic with Tiffany Shlain, filmmaker, author and artist. Tiffany wrote 24/6: The Power of Unplugging One Day a Week and after reading it I knew I had to reach out. The book inspired me and motivated me to take one day off of technology every other week. Do you have a set morning routine, or do you just wing it every morning? Do you wake up at the same time every day or are you a little reluctant and prefer to sleep just a bit longer? Morning gurus and success mavens all advocate that to be successful you need to wake up at 5:00 AM. I love sleeping and I can't say I'm ever excited about waking up at 5:00 AM. I am however, excited about waking up because I have a morning routine that I both look forward to, and rely on to set myself up for an energetic and productive day ahead.Whatever you choose to do in the mornings may just be affecting your entire day - both positively and negatively. In this episode I talk a list of 10 things - and how each of them could have positive or negative effects on your day. Stay in touch! Do you laugh aloud at the thought of having a few minutes to meditate during busy days with your children? What if I told you that you could be meditating THE ENTIRE DAY, even in the midst of chaotic, everyday moments with your little minions? Dr. Leah Weiss (LeahWeissPhd.com) –an author, a mindfulness expert who studied with the Dali Lama, a professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a mother of three little children–teaches that this is possible. It just requires that we redefine (or rather, correctly define) the word “meditation.” The word “meditation” is a translation from the Tibetan word “gom.” Dr. Weiss points out that a more literal definition of this word is simply “familiarization” or “getting to know your mind and heart.” When explained this way, busy moms can let go of visions of silent meditation rooms and burning incense (though those things are great too!) and instead embrace every moment with their children as an opportunity to “familiarize” themselves with their own hearts and minds. In fact, motherhood itself can become meditation. Join me for this fascinating conversation with a renowned mindfulness expert who teaches us the Tibetan process of “dampa sum,” meaning “good in the beginning, good in the middle, and good in the end.” Three Takeaways Follow the three-part Tibetan practice of Dampa Sum in order to achieve Gom, which means “getting to know our minds and hearts.” (Dom is often translated as “meditation.”) 1) Set an intention for a specific and short amount of time (not for the entire day!). 2) Do the activity with your intention in mind. Recalibrate when needed. 3) Reflect on how it went. Practice self-compassion if you made mistakes, and set a new intention (or restart the same one) for the next activity. Hello! Welcome back to the 24th-ish (there was an episode 18.5... that was probably a bad idea) episode of the All We Hear Is Purple podcast. Seeing as how they had nothing better to do while in quarantine, Gabey and Andrew reluctantly agreed to contract extensions earlier this week. The negotiations were fierce, which is why this week's episode was delayed AN ENTIRE DAY and is now being released on Thursday instead of Wednesday as normal. Blame it on the talent! Anyway, back to the matter at hand, this week's episode features Gabey and Andrew's takes on the NFL Draft from a Husky fan's perspective, as well as some recruiting notes from the recent string of commitments made by recruits. There are highs, there are lows, and you can even expect some “good tears” in this one. Enjoy! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Let's be honest... MOST OF US MAKE WEIGHT LOSS HARDER THAN IT NEEDS TO BE. How so you ask? We choose to believe that we WON'T succeed...and let our past failed attempts determine our future results. We choose to care more about WHAT OTHER PEOPLE think than WHAT WE WANT.... I mean, how many times have you gone out to a restaurant and felt stuffed after eating appetizers, but ate more of your meal than you actually wanted because you didn't want anyone else at the table, or the waitress, to (heaven forbid) think you didn't like the food? We choose to believe that we MUST BE PERFECT to get results...All too often letting one little "mess up" or "bite OFF plan" ruin the ENTIRE DAY. And those are just a few of the ways we make our weight loss journey's harder than they need to be... But if there's one thing I've learned from helping other Nurse Practitioners lose weight for the FINAL time... It's that THERE IS A WAY I CAN MAKE WEIGHT LOSS EASIER FOR YOU... How? By providing insight into EXACTLY WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT every step of the way... Which is why I created the 5 Stages of Weight Loss For Nurse Practitioners... Here's to making the journey to your goal weight EASIER than you ever imagined.

HVMN Podcast: Evidence-based Nutrition, Fitness, & Biohacking
The broad field of nutrition and health is rife with myths, misconceptions and frequently posed yet seemingly fundamental questions that we intuitively feel should have simple answers. Is a calorie a calorie? Is obesity due to eating too much or doing too little? Is breakfast actually the most important meal of the day? When looking through the lens of insulin resistance, breakfast has often been seen as a "problem" meal that leads to the largest blood sugar spikes...especially for Type 2 diabetics. This is largely due to the typical "healthy" Western breakfast foods that are high in carbohydrates: Cereal, oatmeal, toast and fruit. A recent study aimed to explore if eating a low-carb and high-fat meal first thing in the morning is a simple way to prevent this large insulin spike, improve glycemic control throughout the day, and reduce other diabetes complications. This is the paper Dr. Brianna Stubbs will be diving into in this episode of the Research Roundup. Here's the wedding photographer rant I talk about in the beginning of the show. Image Credit: Thomas Stewart Photography (view article here) Do your kids find your phone and say "here's your phone mommy?" Real eye opener - my kids probably think that my phone is a part of my being. And that brought some tears to my eyes. How often do we do that??? We take all the pictures to post on social media but we aren't actually PRESENT in the moment! Here's your big swift kick in the butt... grab your phone. Settings > Battery > Scroll down to see last 24 hours or last 7 days. It will show the activity base don% of battery usage, tap "show activity" and it will switch from the % to showing you in actual time during your day/week how much time you've spent in each app. Add up all the time you spend in your social media apps. Shocking, right? Even if you're good and only are on your phone an hour a day... in 7 days you've spent 7 hours. And in another 17 days you've spent an ENTIRE DAY on your phone in social media apps. Think about the time you could be spent doing the things you say you don't have time for - bible, church, working out, reading to your kids, keeping the house clean. If you read to your kids one hour a day instead of being on social media with virtual friends in one year you would have spent 15 days reading to your kids! And over a course of their time in your home you would have spent a total of about 9 months worth of hours reading to your kids before they graduate and move out. Now, if you put that in terms of social media if you ARENT spending that time intentionally then you're spending NINE MONTHS OF YOUR CHILDRENS LIVES on social media. I am NOT condemning anyone... this is because I've got a problem with it. I'll admit it. It's not a shiny perfect person thing to say... but the first step to making a change is admitting you've got a problem. Now, I've done this before. I get real good and intentional but then I get lonely, or bored, or tired and mindlessly scrolling becomes more and more of a habit - but these are the times we need a swift kick in the butt... so here we go! Practical ways to cut back the phone time and simplifying your phone usage. Settings that help Spend some time simplifying the social media and removing excess apps deleting people that you don't associate with anymore or don't even really know. Unroll. me - app/website Organzie your icons into folders - if you have to seek out an app to find it it will make you less likely to open it so often. It's some sort of psychology. Most of our scrolling and app usage is mindless, our thumb knows where that Instagram icon is... and it's a magnet! Turn off all of the notifications this one I'm a huge fan of. Think about it, we're in a world right now where the people who are the most important to us (in the moment or completely all the time) are pushed to the side because of a noise on our phone. With the notifications (noises, badges, banners) all turned off you won't be notified every time you get an email (which is probably spam) or a text (which might just be an emoji). I don't know about you but my ability to pick up the phone read the text and stop there went out the window a around the iPhone 3. I pick it up, check the meaningless text, then get on Instagram, Facebook , check my email, get lost on google. Then all of the sudden I've wasted 15 min of my life and told my kids to "hold on" 6 time.. because I'm mother of the year. Use Siri or Alexa more regularly - to ask questions instead of searching google or your calendar which then can spiral into a scroll fest. Keep it in silent Turn on grey scale in accessibility, display accommodations, filters. Do not disturb from 2 hours before bed to 2 hours after your normal wake time. Make a no phones in the bedroom, bathroom or kitchen rule. Get an ACTUAL alarm clock so you can charge your phone in another room. Carry a book or magazine with you Use a real to do list, or create your morning routine and vow to not pick up the phone until you're done with the routine or daily tasks. Set a reading goal. Pick up a hobby that is kinda mindless - coloring, knitting, crocheting, cross stitch (which I can never figure out how to do) Apps to help Download an app called "Checky" that will log how many times you pick up your phone. Set a goal to decrease by 5 every week until you're ok with how much you pick it up. Set goals for usage and check in regularly. Check in every night on how you've done. Download an app like "moment" - it tracks usage but also you can set time limits on each app. Is this something you struggle with? Do you laugh aloud at the thought of having a few minutes to meditate during busy days with your children? What if I told you that you could be meditating THE ENTIRE DAY, even in the midst of chaotic, everyday moments with your little minions? Dr. Leah Weiss--an author, a mindfulness expert who studied with the Dali Lama, a professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a mother of three little children--teaches that this is possible. It just requires that we redefine (or rather, correctly define) the word "meditation." The word "meditation" is a translation from the Tibetan word "gom." Dr. Weiss points out that a more literal definition of this word is simply "familiarization" or "getting to know your mind and heart." When explained this way, busy moms can let go of visions of silent meditation rooms and burning incense (though those things are great too!) and instead embrace every moment with their children as an opportunity to "familiarize" themselves with their own hearts and minds. In fact, motherhood itself can become meditation. Join me for this fascinating conversation with a renowned mindfulness expert who teaches us the Tibetan process of "dampa sum," meaning "good in the beginning, good in the middle, and good in the end." Welcome to the Dr. Chris Griffin Show. Your resource for leveraging systems and technology to easier workload, increase productivity and provide you with the time off you deserve to live the life of your dreams. It’s time to practice productivity in the passionate pursuit of a better life with your host, Dr. Chris Griffin. The Dr. is in. So you may have actually heard that quote. That is from a very, very famous person in American history, Mr. Henry Ford. You all know him? He’s the founder of Ford Motor Company but Henry Ford was also maybe more importantly the unwitting founder a concept called Lean Management. Now Lean Management is something that was adopted in post World War II, Japan. And help build some of the largest companies that the world now knows into that juggernaut that they are. And all this really came from these strategies and concepts that Henry Ford developed’ really going way back. I guess some people say the Father of Lean Management was actually Eli Whitney but moving forward, Henry Ford really make that happen with his assembly line for his cars. And then his concepts were taken off over the post towards Japan and you know, they just went nuts with it. They actually developed this Lean Management theory into something amazing and it turned out into you know, the Toyota production system. That’s basically based completely on concepts Henry Ford came up with. So I thought it was certainly appropriate that they were used to quote Henry Ford today. Now today, we’re going to dive in to this Lean Management theory as we go back to the lecture I did in Oklahoma City and we’re going to be talking about all kinds of amazing things that I have applied in to dentistry from these Lean Management concepts like color coding, visual learning, Kanban boards and just on and on. So I’m really excited today, it’s absolutely something. It’s true to my heart in dentistry, it’s what I really think helps everyday dentists really make a difference and getting more dentistry done; it helps everybody, patients, doctors, team, everybody. So let’s go ahead and let’s jump back to the lecture and let’s hear all about the Lean Manufacturing theory. The fun parts are the rewards, and I’ll tell you what I like to do, I like to like combine work and fun. So like if we’re doing really well, I will take my staff on a sea trip with me or something like that. Be sure you’re acknowledging things every time somebody does something really well. I’ll show you some pictures. So 2005 was the year that we converted from the cosmetic practice to the higher volume practice and you know, we had a great year; I mean a blowout year. I think we went that year from 600,000...
