This is it. After 11 years and 550 episodes, Doug and Justin sit down for the final episode of Mind Gap Podcast. They open with one last "Would You Rather" (would you rather know how you die or when you die), announce that the show is moving to YouTube only going forward, and then spend the bulk of the episode reading through the tributes, memories, and messages that listeners sent in from the Discord community and social media. From there, Doug and Justin take a walk down memory lane through 11 years of the show: the guests who became lifelong friends, the legendary "Throwdown" segment that ran for over 300 episodes, and some of their favorite behind the scenes moments. They close things out with one final round of their movie quote guessing game, pulling clips from The Departed, Fight Club, Deadpool 2, Donnie Darko, and one seriously deep cut from a 1985 Christmas movie. Before signing off for good, both hosts share one last piece of advice for anyone listening: create something, be kind to the people around you, and make time for what actually matters. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this community for the past 11 years. This episode contains explicit language and mature humor throughout. The Discord community will remain open indefinitely, so if you want to stay connected, that link is below. Thank you for watching, thank you for listening, and thank you for 11 years. For the 2nd hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, Stink and Stoke negotiate a deal to weed whack for Stoke. They get Stink's side of that awkward moment he caused at yesterday's camp. The guys talk about the big fight at camp yesterday and discuss whether it's a good thing to fight and if it's truly a benefit for a young offense to go against a defense as strong as the Broncos' is. The guys tell us about the long days they have ahead of them before they hear what Bo Nix has to say about mental reps, staying calm early in the game, and the difference between Sean and Webb. The Morning Crew head into halftime with 4 Down Territory where Bo Nix is talking about Fight Club, the Broncos have a future head coach on their hands, and the defense has the best nose in football.

Blood on the Sawdust: The Brutal World of Victorian Boxing Episode Overview In this 9th Anniversary Special, we step out of the West End drawing rooms and into the blood-flecked, sawdust-covered floors of 19th-century “Fancy” public houses. Inspired by the depiction of East End street culture in A Thousand Blows, this episode explores the history of Victorian boxing—from the illegal bare-knuckle bouts of the Regency era to the gentrified, gloved sport codified under the Marquess of Queensberry Rules. We examine how prizefighting evolved from a brutal survival strategy into a national obsession, the legal cat-and-mouse games played across county lines, and the medical and physical toll extracted from the fighters. We also dive into the remarkable life of international combat instructor Colonel Thomas Hoyer Monstery and uncover the overlooked history of 19th-century female prizefighters. Key Topics Covered: Housekeeping & AI Voice Policy: Why the podcast is permanently stepping away from AI-generated voice models in favour of human research, along with updates on replacement recording equipment and audio access. The “Sweet Science” & Prizefighting History: How bare-knuckle fighting functioned as a mix of martial arts, local wrestling, and survival in an era where the body was often a worker’s sole asset. The Structural Cage of the Law: The jurisdictional loopholes that allowed fights to flourish on county borders, and the evolution of legal precedents from R v Billingham (1825) to R v Coney (1882). The Aristocratic “Fancy” & Early Pioneers: The rise of sports journalism via Pierce Egan's Boxiana, and landmark international contests like the 1810 bout between Tom Cribb and former American slave Tom Molineaux. Case Study – The Ruin of Harry Broome: Following the career arc of Harry Broome from his controversial match at Acorn Bridge to his defeat by Tom Paddock and his eventual death in poverty. The Queensberry Transition: Why the introduction of gloves in 1867 was viewed with suspicion by working-class fighters, and how padded gloves inadvertently increased the long-term risk of chronic brain injury. Gentlemen, Self-Defence & Martial Arts: Highlights from Colonel Thomas Hoyer Monstery's C19th treatise Self Defence for Ladies and Gentlemen, including his views on boxing over firearms and his praise for female swordmasters. Women in the Ring: The subversion of Victorian gender norms, focusing on the 1888 world championship bout between Hattie Leslie and Alice Leary, and the legal outrage that followed. Do we actually own our freedom? Most of us spend decades working, paying bills, carrying debt, paying taxes, and depending on systems we didn't build and can't control. We aren't locked in cages—but are we living in one without bars? This isn't a conspiracy episode. It's a conversation about history, economics, preparedness, and personal responsibility. Drawing inspiration from Fight Club, The Matrix, 1984, Brave New World, and The Road to Serfdom, we examine how comfort, consumerism, technology, debt, and dependence may shape our lives more than we realize. In this episode we discuss: ✔ Is debt the modern version of servitude? ✔ Are we building wealth—or simply maintaining a system? ✔ Who really benefits from our time and labor? ✔ Can convenience quietly replace independence? ✔ What do history and philosophy teach us about freedom? ✔ Why preparedness is about far more than storing food and gear. ✔ Practical ways to become more self-reliant and less dependent on fragile systems. At The Survival and Basic Badass Podcast, we believe preparedness isn't driven by fear. It's about building resilience. It's about creating options. It's about becoming harder to control because you're harder to disrupt. Whether you agree with every conclusion or not, this episode is designed to challenge assumptions, encourage critical thinking, and spark an honest conversation about what freedom really means in the modern world. Do we truly own our freedom—or have we become dependent on systems we rarely question?

Just a heads-up – this episode contains references to alleged sexual assault and may not be suitable for everyone, so please take care when listening. Jared Leto is an Oscar winner, a rock star, a cult leader and now the focus of serious questions. The 54-year-old has been seen onscreen in the likes of Fight Club, American Psycho, and Blade Runner 2049, while also finding the time to tour the world with his band Thirty Seconds to Mars. But a BBC investigation has revealed an array of allegations against the actor, with a new documentary presenting the accounts of 10 different accusers. The allegations against Leto span more than a decade and include claims of sexual assault, grooming and inappropriate behaviour with underage girls. Leto has categorically denied the claims. Is his gilded career in jeopardy or is the Hollywood of 2026 more comfortable overlooking such a scandal? On this episode of The Indo Daily, host Kevin Doyle is joined by Alice McShane, director of BBC documentary Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret, to hear how the investigation came together, and by the Irish Independent's Dave Hanratty to look at Jared Leto's career to date. This week on Wise_N_Nerdy, Joe's out, so I called in one of my favorite people to cause absolute chaos: Josh Cooper from Uploads of Fun and my co-host on The Little Brown Pill. We somehow go from debating the worst fictional roommate ever to reliving embarrassing stories, Dragon Con, burgers, mushrooms, and enough coffee talk to make a barista question their life choices. If you've ever wondered what happens when two friends are given microphones and zero adult supervision... this is it. Then things really go off the rails. We answer the age-old question of how to become a full-fledged coffee snob, roast everything from Starbucks to mushroom coffee, argue over fast food burgers, tell stories that probably should've stayed private, and somehow end up discussing ThunderCats, Fight Club, Pokémon cards, and whether Pig-Pen would be the roommate from hell. It's the kind of conversation that only makes sense while you're listening—and somehow gets funnier the deeper it goes. If you like nerd culture, dad humor, caffeine-fueled debates, and two guys chasing every rabbit trail they can find without ever losing the fun, this episode is for you. Grab your favorite mug, hit play, and come hang out with us. Just don't blame us if you suddenly find yourself shopping for a pour-over kit by the end of the episode. A label. A management team. Two sheriff's departments. Every one of them had a piece of the picture, and prosecutors say the relationship at the center of it began when Celeste Rivas Hernandez was young enough that the number alone ends most conversations.Long before the d4vd preliminary hearing, David Burke sat down for an interview and explained a character he had invented. He said he was writing a manga about a detective. The detective had an evil version of himself who showed up at random moments. That version committed murders. The detective then had to solve them.He named the character Itami, which means pain in Japanese. He called him an agent of chaos and compared him to Tyler Durden in Fight Club. Then he put him in the work. A bloody knife in one video. An animated sequence in another. A video before his debut album in which Burke drags a body and loads it into the trunk of a car.Tony and Robin use that as the doorway into a bigger question: who was this young man before any of it? Homeschooled after seventh grade. Gospel music only until thirteen. A social life built entirely inside gaming lobbies. Signed to a major label at seventeen with a valuation in the millions and no anchor anywhere near him. They also give the other argument its full weight. Violent art is not proof of violence, and treating lyrics as confessions is how innocent people get railroaded. But prosecutors allege Burke did the specific thing his character was written to do, and a whole machine of executives and managers watched a nineteen-year-old sell his own darkness without anyone asking what was underneath it.Burke has pleaded not guilty and denies all wrongdoing through his attorneys. Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen years old.END_LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The most devastating number in this case is not a dollar figure and it is not a piece of forensic evidence. It is how old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was when prosecutors say David Burke first found her online.Who was David Burke before any of this? That is the whole conversation, and Tony and Robin do not take the easy route through it.He was homeschooled after seventh grade. Gospel music only until thirteen. Almost everything social in his life happened through a screen. His mother pushed him to stop crying about copyright strikes and make his own songs, and two years later he was seventeen, still in high school, and signed to Interscope.Nobody handles that at seventeen. But the part that stops people cold is what he built alongside the career.Burke created an alter ego and named him Itami, which is Japanese for pain. He described the character on camera as an agent of chaos, an evil version of himself in a blindfold. The idea came from a manga he was writing about a detective whose alter ego commits murders, murders the detective then has to solve. His own comparison was Tyler Durden in Fight Club.He put it in the videos. A bloody knife. A woman described as the ghost of the person the character killed. An animated sequence where the character takes an arm. And a video in which Burke drags a body and loads it into a car.The counterargument matters and it gets its due here: violent art proves nothing by itself, and thousands of artists make it without ever harming a soul. But prosecutors allege Burke did the exact thing the character did. Tony and Robin follow that line all the way back — the isolation, the money, the industry that sold the darkness and never asked a single question.Burke has pleaded not guilty. Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen years old.END_LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The machine around him never blinked.Live conversation about the part of the d4vd case that has nothing to do with forensics. Tony and Robin go all the way back to the beginning — before the charges, before the streams, before anybody outside a gaming lobby knew the name.A homeschooled kid. Gospel music only until thirteen. An entire social world that existed on a screen. A mother who told him to quit complaining about copyright strikes and make something of his own. A record deal at seventeen while he was still in high school. And then the alter ego. Burke named him Itami, which means pain, and described him publicly as an agent of chaos — an evil version of himself who commits the murders that Burke's detective character then has to solve. He compared it to Fight Club without anyone prompting him.He filmed the character holding a bloody knife. He animated the character taking a woman's arm. He released a video in which he drags a body and puts it into a car.Now hold the other side of it, because it is a real argument. Artists make violent work constantly. It proves nothing on its own. Nobody is a killer because they wrote a song.Except prosecutors allege this man did what the character did.So the live question is where dark art ends and something else begins, and whether an industry that valued this young man in the millions and sold his darkness as a brand owns any piece of what came next.Burke has pleaded not guilty and denies all wrongdoing. There are so many ways to end a movie. Some of the most powerful, yet hardest to do, are movie twists. This is where your entire reality and understanding of what has come before gets a kick to the head. Movies like The Sixth Sense, Psycho, Fight Club, even the wonderfully hysterical and nutty I Know Who Killed Me starring Lindsey Lohan fall in this category.  The shock ending is different-it doesn't reconfigure reality but it leaves us gut-punched and stunned. Martin Scorsese's The Departed, Frank Darabont's The Mist. Secret Movie Club founder.programmer Craig Hammill takes a look at these kinds of endings and more. He also offers a COMPLETE LIST OF MOVIES DISCUSSED at beginning of pod because he's going to talk/spoil many of them. If you want, see them first, then listen here.

Are you tired of trying to control every detail of your own life, or are you ready to hand over the pen and let God write your story? This week on Off Script, Neil and Scott Hatfield dive deep into the messy reality of faith, what it means to drop our self-made plans, and how we can learn to trust in God's relentless covenant. The guys discuss the grueling seasons of questioning God through life's deep valleys, why frustration expressed in prayer is still an act of faith, and how to cultivate eyes to see the quiet "God moments" hidden in our daily routines and surrounding community. The Challenge This week, create intentional space to look back and audit your life for "God moments." Take a long drive, open a journal, or sit down with a friend and write out 2–3 specific times where God showed His faithfulness to you in the past, choosing to actively remember His track record instead of getting paralyzed by the what-ifs of your current season. Hosts: Neil Gregory and Scott Hatfield What We Discuss Unpacking the true depth of a biblical "covenant" as a waiverless, relentless, dogged faithfulness  Navigating the exhausting emotional, physical, and relational toll of infertility, and playing "mind games" with God during the waiting  Why Abraham's raw frustration with God is still an expression of faith, and why gut-wrenching prayers are still prayers  The power of Christian community and why stepping "off the island" of isolation into group life is vital for gritty discipleship  A sneak peek into the upcoming launch of Fight Club Online, shifting the men's ministry curriculum into a high-impact, 10-week format  Details for the upcoming Fight Club group leader interest meeting on August 10th at the Nicholasville campus  ⸻ About Southland Christian Church Southland is one church meeting in multiple locations across central Kentucky. The Odyssey Isn't About Monsters. It's About Trust.   Before Christopher Nolan brings The Odyssey to the big screen, Curtis Chang and Jessica Hooten Wilson revisit Homer's ancient epic to ask what the story is really about: monsters, homecoming, and the search for truth among intentional lies.
