In this episode of the Bitcoin Podcast, hosts Dee, Corey, Jessie, and Ahmad cover a wide-ranging discussion about Bitcoin Ordinals, a new protocol for creating non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the Bitcoin blockchain, highlighting the potential and ongoing debates about their utility. Corey offers a detailed explanation of the concept and its origin, tracing it back to the NFT craze on Ethereum and the broader development in the blockchain ecosystem. The team also touches on the broader implications and challenges of integrating fungibility with non-fungibility in digital assets, drawing parallels with game economies and discussing the nuances of collectibility and community dynamics. Throughout the conversation, they also reflect on the lessons learned from previous ventures in NFTs and digital collectibles, emphasizing the importance of sustainable community support for any token's lasting value.Chapters00:00:00 How Did the Bitcoin Podcast Begin Again?00:00:00 What's New in Season Two and Who's Hosting?00:00:57 Are Bitcoin Ordinals Changing the NFT Game?00:01:46 Is Being Busy Always a Bad Thing?00:03:11 How Does Corey Handle All Hands Meetings?00:03:41 What's the Secret to Dee's Wedding Planning?00:04:12 Should We All Be Eating More Pineapples?00:04:41 How Are Bitcoin Ordinals Similar to NFTs?00:06:05 Are Bitcoin NFTs a Copycat of Ethereum?00:06:47 Why Did Bitcoin Once Dismiss NFTs?00:07:10 What is Fungibility, and How Is Bitcoin Redefining It?00:09:06 Are NFTs Just an Artificial Craze, or Is There More to Them?00:10:11 What's the Connection Between Gaming Skins and NFTs?00:11:47 Could Game Economies and the Black Market Collide?00:13:13 How Do Tokens Resemble an Ecological Balance?00:15:35 Can Different Game Economies Be Unified by Blockchain?00:20:02 What Makes Bitcoin NFTs Unique Compared to Ethereum's?00:22:25 Why Does Rarity Matter in Bitcoin Ordinals?00:24:10 Can the Auditability of UTXOs Affect Bitcoin's Fungibility?00:25:50 Are Certain Physical Items Actually NFTs in Disguise?00:26:22 Why Should We Avoid Cash in Favor of Digital Currencies?00:27:00 How Did the Chicken NFT Craze Take Off?00:31:00 Which Factors Determine the Long-Term Value of Tokens?00:34:06 What Lessons Have We Learned From the Chicken NFT Craze?

Fungibility is a term used in economics to describe "items that can be mixed without differentiating the source". For example, if you and I pour a bottle of water into a pan, the water is mixed. We can't separate your water from mine. Most of us view attention differently. A partner's attention is worth MORE than a random strangers. But narcissists see things differently. They don't care where the attention comes from, provided they get it, and enough of it. That is why it's so easy for them to discard you when you no longer supply enough attention.

I recently hosted a webinar on the future of talent acquisition and asked the audience to consider this question. Will there ever be as many recruiters again as there were in August 2022? The arrival of universally available generative AI and a harsh economic climate has caused the perfect storm in our industry. But how much long-term disruption of talent acquisition and potential elimination of recruiting roles could there be? My guest this week is Allyn Bailey, a highly experienced talent acquisition leader who previously held a global role at Intel and is now Executive Director of Hiring Success at SmartRecruiters. A couple of weeks ago, Allyn put out a challenge on LinkedIn that she was prepared to debate her belief that a major organization would move to recruiterless recruiting within the next 18 months. Because I consider her one of the most innovative thinkers in the industry, I took the opportunity at the recent UNLEASH America event to learn more about her hypnosis. I also got her thoughts on the future structure of talent acquisition teams and her advice around reskilling and retraining for those at risk of being displaced. In the interview, we discuss: Fungibility and flexibility of technology Can you build a future-proof tech stack? Is it possible to implement a relationship-based recruiting strategy in a world of management by transactional metrics? Can AI be more human than humans? Can technology now address every step in the TA process? Will we see recruiterless recruiting within 18 months? The nuances of the hypothesis The TA team of the future TA Ops, system and experience design Will candidates push back? Legislation and regulation Reskilling and retraining. Listen to this podcast in Apple Podcasts. A full transcript will appear here shortly.

Overcame all of these things I was exposed to: “organized crime, complex of highly centralized enterprises set up for the purpose of engaging in illegal activities. Such organizations engage in offenses such as cargo theft, fraud, robbery, kidnapping for ransom, and the demanding of “protection” payments. The principal source of income for these criminal syndicates is the supply of goods and services that are illegal but for which there is continued public demand, such as drugs, prostitution, loan-sharking (i.e., usury), and gambling.” In the crime world, adults and children (including me) were mistreated in all of these ways: “In social philosophy, objectification is the act of treating a person as an object or a thing. It is part of dehumanization, the act of disavowing the humanity of others. Sexual objectification, the act of treating a person as a mere object of sexual desire, is a subset of objectification, as is self-objectification, the objectification of one's self. In Marxism, the objectification of social relationships is discussed as "reification". Definitions: Objectification more broadly means treating a person as a commodity or an object without regard to their personality or dignity. Objectification is most commonly examined at the level of a society, but can also refer to the behavior of individuals and is a type of dehumanization. According to Martha Nussbaum, a person is objectified if one or more of the following properties are applied to them:[1] Instrumentality – treating the person as a tool for another's purposes Denial of autonomy – treating the person as lacking in autonomy or self-determination. Inertness – treating the person as lacking in agency or activity. Fungibility – treating the person as interchangeable with (other) objects. Violability – treating the person as lacking in boundary integrity and violable, "as something that it is permissible to break up, smash, break into." Ownership – treating the person as though they can be owned, bought, or sold (such as slavery.) Denial of subjectivity – treating the person as though there is no need for concern for their experiences or feelings Rae Langton proposed three more properties to be added to Nussbaum's list:[2] Reduction to body – the treatment of a person as identified with their body, or body parts. Reduction to appearance – the treatment of a person primarily in terms of how they look, or how they appear to the senses. Silencing – the treatment of a person as if they are silent, lacking the capacity to speak. When it comes to sex, people must follow sensitive lover instructions because sex is it own sensitive lover recipe. There's nothing wrong with cruising for sex, birth-controlled sex, unprotected sex, and the Mile High Club as long as the CERTS model is abided by, sexual health matters and there's no trauma complexes motivating them. I'm into high-quality hearted adults so I desire all-around high-quality experiences with them as much as possible without self-destructive behavior. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/support

What is fungibility? Is it mildew? Is it mushrooms? Is it the blue green spores growing on the 3-week-old half sandwich at the back of the fridge? Or perhaps the whiteish green carpet spreading over the curiously deformed orange at the supermarket? Actually, fungibility has a lot to do with money and finance. "In social philosophy, objectification is the act of treating a person, or sometimes an animal,[1] as an object or a thing. "According to Martha Nussbaum, a person is objectified if one or more of the following properties are applied to them:[2] Instrumentality – treating the person as a tool for another's purposes Denial of autonomy – treating the person as lacking in autonomy or self-determination Inertness – treating the person as lacking in agency or activity Fungibility – treating the person as interchangeable with (other) objects Violability – treating the person as lacking in boundary integrity and violable, "as something that it is permissible to break up, smash, break into." Ownership – treating the person as though they can be owned, bought, or sold (such as slavery) Denial of subjectivity – treating the person as though there is no need for concern for their experiences or feelings Rae Langton proposed three more properties to be added to Nussbaum's list:[3] Reduction to body – the treatment of a person as identified with their body, or body parts Reduction to appearance – the treatment of a person primarily in terms of how they look, or how they appear to the senses Silencing – the treatment of a person as if they are silent, lacking the capacity to speak." - Quick review of Ethereum (plus some additional details)- NFT's will seem ridiculous at first, but I'll explain why I changed my mind about them- NFT's are unique digital assets, which could mean anything from a piece of art, to a digitized DNA sequence, to a weapon in an online video game world, to a virtual pet, to a digital file representing the deed of a house- Fungibility, and why you should care about NFT's- NFT category #1: collectibles, how the concept of rarity can work in a digital world, and why rarity can still be desirable even if digital items are technically infinitely copyable- NFT category #2: research funding and historical significance- NFT category #3: music, and generative music-----The corresponding blog post with links and images:https://www.michaelcaloz.com/2021/07/30/easing-into-crypto-part-9-intro-to-nfts-collectibles-research-funding-historical-significance-and-music/
