More often than not on this podcast, we have the privilege of listening to and learning from health, wellness, biohacking, longevity experts talk about the latest research, health hacks, books, projects, conferences, stories/anecdotes, clinical experience, etc. And there is so much to glean from those episodes and practical applications for your own wellness regimens. Today's episode with former NFL player, Landon Cohen, provides a very well-rounded conversation on health and wellness from a very unique perspective and from someone that was literally in the trenches as a pro football player. While Landon is a wildly successful entrepreneur today, which is a grind in its own right, his days as an NFL defensive lineman (and, of course, the years and year of collegiate and high school football) took a major toll on his body and, even more so, his mind and brain. This is secondary to the perpetual banging of pads and helmets every single play between the offensive and defensive lineman. Being drafted in 2008, Landon played in an era where the repercussions of concussions was not yet on the radar in football. Fast forward to early last year, Landon was recommended by a friend to try some BioBlue and red light therapy to see if it would help with his post-NFL body and mind. According to Landon, BioBlue played a major role in regaining his sharp mind and cognition/focus, while the red light therapy (combined with the BioBlue) helped reduce so lingering aches and pains. Needless to say, he is a massive advocate of both modalities. Along with discussing his experience with MB and RLT, Landon talks about the differences between his health and wellness mindset as an NFL player vs. his mindset in his post-NFL life, his desire and motivation to live a "clean lifestyle", how/why he wakes up around 3 every morning to start his day, his viewpoints on diet/food and some other fun topics, such as crypto, blockchain, AI and much, much more!If you found the information in today's episode with Landon Cohen particularly interesting and/or compelling, please share it with a family member, friend, colleague and/or anyone that you think could benefit and be illuminated by this knowledge. Each year, about 1 billion pounds of chemicals are sprayed on crops in the US alone - globally, that number is around 5.6 billion. Our guest today is AgTechLogic, and they are solving this problem. They do this by helping Farmers retrofit their existing machinery with precision sprayers that use computer vision to identify weeds and spray only on the weeds in a concentrated way that kills the weeds and won't overlap with the crops.Today, nearly all farmers use broadcast spraying, or spraying everything. By implementing this tech, farmers can save a lot of money and produce healthier produce. Let's get into it.

Welcome to another episode of Category Visionaries — the show that explores GTM stories from tech's most innovative B2B founders. In today's episode, we're speaking with Jag Lamba, CEO & Founder at Certa, a third-party management platform that has raised $52 Million in funding. Here are the most interesting points from our conversation: Origins in Consulting and Engineering: Jag's transition from engineering to business and eventually founding Certa was driven by his desire to build rather than consult, highlighting the shift from advisory roles to hands-on creation and leadership in technology. Insightful Career Shifts: Experiences at McKinsey and handling venture capital initiatives provided Jag with exposure to high-caliber problem-solving and innovative product development, setting the stage for his entrepreneurial journey. Inspirational Figures and Readings: Jag discusses how influential figures like Satya Nadella and non-business literature, including Bill Browder's "Red Notice," have shaped his perspectives on leadership and the courage to innovate against significant odds. Addressing a Universal Business Pain: The inception of Certa was rooted in Jag's realization of the inefficiencies in third-party risk management during his tenure at McKinsey, identifying a gap that Certa could fill. Early Adoption by Major Clients: Jag's commitment to not letting early adopters down and his flexibility in product development helped secure early trust and collaboration from significant enterprises, including Uber. Future Vision for Certa: Looking ahead, Jag envisions a streamlined, almost instantaneous process for onboarding and collaborating with third parties, enhancing compliance and operational efficiency with a single click.

Tambrein Bates joined me on the Acquisition Talk podcast to discuss his role in helping build an ecosystem of over 40,000 innovators in support of Special Operations Command (SOCOM). For the last five years, Tambrein has been the director of SOFWERX, and before that spent a career in US Army special operations. During the episode, we touch on: - Designing for producibility - When to use a prize rather than a contract - The horses vs. jockeys view of innovation - Moving from a 2-D to a 4-D view of risk - Whether we set a low bar in defense acquisition SOFWERX is a non-profit chartered by SOCOM and DEFENSEWERX to transition commercial technology into the military. Tambrein says that commercial R&D has bypassed the Pentagon, and there is a great deal of potential for recombining existing technologies in new and provocative ways. SOFWERX clients in government tend to access SOFWERX to: (1) help them think clearly about programs/technologies; (2) remove some administrative burdens; and (3) accessing their network of firms and innovators that can address a wide range of requirements from submarines to satellites. SOFWERX is not a "front door" to the acquisition system, but remains important piece to accelerating tech transition. This podcast was produced by Eric Lofgren. Climate change has shot up the current political agenda in part due to the Extinction Rebellion protests. An urgent question now facing UK policymakers is whether they should accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge green energy technology to curb the country's carbon emissions. But are there dangers of being an early adopter of new technology? What happens if it doesn't work or if it's outpaced by newer technologies which are cheaper and more efficient? The BBC's Business Editor, Simon Jack, investigates.

Concierge Commerce is a new service — built on Craft Commerce Pro’s subscription feature — that promises to be a game changer for ecommerce retailers and vendors looking to connect by providing a one-stop platform to shop services and set up sales meetings. Founders Tae FitzSimons and Doug Hollinger have spent years working in the commerce world and discovered a common problem that required a solution: ecommerce retailers don’t know how or where to shop for the tech services they need when they need them. Likewise vendors are often not connecting with the right person at an organization, or even their ideal customer. A big pain point for many retailers is there is no easy list or search service to find the vendors they need. With Concierge Commerce serving as the “counselor,” they are helping vendors talk about their products and services more articulately, and helping retailers learn to ask the right questions. But, like counselors, they are only facilitating the relationship - not giving advice or opinions. Unlike most sites that create matrices with weighted arguments for one product or another, the Vendors on Concierge Commerce speak for themselves. Ultimately, Tae and Doug are building a roadmap toward a full service vendor selection platform where users can can search vendors and schedule meetings live on the site. Tune in to learn how Concierge Commerce is about to become the ultimate matchmaker for vendors and ecommerce sites. Key takeaways: Playing matchmaker between technology vendors and ecommerce retailers The questions you should be asking before you even think about looking for a new product or vendor Finding the solutions you need for your business, and not relying on reviews or popularity to make business decisions for your requirements Tapping into what your company does best so you can better articulate your products and services What you should be considering if your company is thinking about going headless Resources: Concierge Commerce Shoptalk

The Cost of Early Adoption, with Ryan Guth The best choir directors are innovators, which is great for their choirs. But there are costs and risks involved in blazing a new trail, and those risks don’t just land on your shoulders, Director; they are shared by your choir. So before you implement that new vision or schedule or teaching method, make sure you are aware of your responsibilities. Ryan shares the lessons he has learned as a lifelong innovator/entrepreneur, focusing on his most recent venture, the Choirs Are Horrible card game. Tweet this: “If you are going to trailblaze a new path, there is going to be some fallout.” - @RyanMGuth Show Notes: “Early adopters” are those who buy into the product from the first. Whether it’s Tesla, solar panels, or Choir Ninja, early adopters pay a premium for being first in line. The cost is higher, and the product is not as good as it will be in a few years. Sometimes you go to a conference or summer class and get a new vision for your choir program. It’s time for big exciting changes! But this means your students are early adopters. There are risks involved in being an innovator, and the risks are shared by you and your students. Your responsibilities: Admit what you don’t know. Be transparent. Embrace under promising and over delivering. Ask for feedback. It’s okay to apologize when thing don’t turn out according to your plan. Bio: Having spent most of his middle and high school career in detention, Ryan Guth loves to speak to audiences about ways for choral directors to engage the seemingly un-engageable. Ryan learned fearlessness and indomitable spirit from a young age through many years studying the martial arts while also pursuing music – especially the time in middle school when he tried to break a board with his head in front his entire ninth grade class and failed spectacularly. He believes the best choir directors face challenges head-on (no pun intended), are solutions-oriented, and take full responsibility forall aspects of their program. Ryan’s most popular and surprisingly positive article “Your Choir Sucks Because You Suck” was shared over 2,200 times in 48 hours, and has since become his manifesto, mantra, and the platform that his work was built upon. Through his first podcast, Find Your Forte, Ryan connected thousands of weekly listeners with some of the most brilliant minds in choral music such as Helmuth Rilling, Patrick Quigley, Joseph Flummerfelt, James Bass, and 80-plus others. He recognizes the fact we become the best when we learn from the best.Ryan Guth recently created the Choir Ninja podcast to share solutions with middle and high school choral directors so they learn to work smarter – not harder. That’s why he focuses on sharing what works in choral programs across Choir Nation in a way that makes running a great choral program approachable, fun, and rewarding. When not dressing up in his ninja jammies or buffing his diploma from Westminster Choir College, Ryan is a financial advisor in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Before that, he spent a decade building a large middle school program and six-figure-choral-ensemble-based-for-profit-business in central New Jersey. He is also the founder and sole member of the Hyphenation Club of America.Ryan enjoys getting lost outdoors with his beautiful fiancé, Amanda, and pitbull-lab Sasha. He also dislikes socks and only wears them when absolutely necessary. This bio was sponsored by Gold Bond Powder. HR Happy Hour 168 - 'HR, Early Adoption and #HRevolution 2013' Recorded on August 8, 2013 This week on the HR Happy Hour Show, hosts Steve Boese and Trish McFarlane welcomed China Gorman, Founder and CEO of the CMG Group, and for more than 25 years, a strategic business leader in in human resources professional services organizations. We talked with China about one of her favorite topics - the early adoption of new or innovative technologies in Human Resources. It turns out that early adoption is one of Trish's favorite topics too - as an HR leader herself she has driven the decision processes and implementations of many of the kinds of HR technologies that are emerging in the market today. We also previewed the upcoming HRevolution event taking place in Las Vegas on October 6, 2013, and where you can see China leading a session on Early Adoption of Technology in HR. China and Trish both shared lots of great ideas and approaches that have worked for them in the past and that will be of help to everyone finding themselves struggling with HR and technology Thanks to China for the time and the insight about the role of early adoption of technology to empower and improve HR processes, and more importantly, organizational results. It was a really fun and interesting show and I hope you check it out
