Dr. Su Golder, associate professor and senior research fellow in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of York, has dedicated a significant portion of her career to improving the reporting of adverse events in clinical research. In this episode, she speaks with host Deborah Borfitz about why adverse events are vital to address but often difficult to ascertain for any given therapeutic intervention.  Golder talks about the strategic ways data can be manipulated—often leading to underreporting or misleading reporting—and the preferred guidelines that help researchers relay accurate information to clinicians and patients. She also discusses why data from randomized controlled trials are not always the best indicator of adverse advents in the real world and why social media provides valuable insights into why patients discontinue drug usage even when symptoms are considered minor. She says, “If something stops a patient from taking [a drug], then it doesn't matter how effective [that drug] is. So [patient experience] is the most important thing.”  Links from this episode:  Clinical Research News University of York Adverse Event Reporting May Need A Total Redo Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency Yellow Card reporting Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) PRISMA harms checklist: improving harms reporting in systematic reviews Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) OpenTrials: towards a collaborative open database of all available information on all clinical trials Cochrane Adverse Effects Methods Group

«Nein», so Golder. Eure Meinung interessiert uns: 076 320 10 37. Lawrence Lever was not the first robbery victim Alan Goldman, the man that would eventually become known as The Dinnertime Bandit. Goldman, a Lynbrook resident whose childhood crime involved stealing other children's bicycles as well as small knick-knacks from the Woolworth's in Island park, eventually gained the attention of the Genovese family. The Dinnertime Bandit eventually captured the attention of Unsolved Mysteries and in a bizarre coincidence, Lawrence Lever's life story overlaps with Lindsay's own family. You might not be surprised to hear that perfectionism and disordered eating go hand-in-hand… but why is that? And HOW do we go about addressing it?   Disclaimer: I'm not saying everyone who is a perfectionist has an eating disorder, or that everyone with an eating disorder is a perfectionist, BUT the correlation is pretty high.   And if this sounds like you? In this episode, we'll explore what the connection is, why it's there, and most importantly, what to do about it.     Colby is a Registered Dietitian who specializes in eating disorders and disordered eating. She got her Master's in Clinical Nutrition from Columbia, and now she works at a private practice called Brown & Medina Nutrition and is on the eating disorder team at Columbia University Health Services. She has spent years working with young adults and high-achieving students, and comes to us with a great perspective on this topic.   If you're a perfectionist, this one's for you!   Tweetable Quotes “The rules and rigidity around eating is hard to live up to… and often, that results in the breaking of rules which leads to overeating or binge eating.” – Colby Golder, RD   “Health is all intertwined… is it really healthy to miss your friend's birthday party if you're afraid to eat there?” – Colby Golder, RD    “The goal of treatment is not to eliminate health and wellness, but it's to eliminate rumination, stress, and obsession, and to eliminate how it affects your everyday thinking and your ability to operate in everyday life.” – Colby Golder, RD Resources: Brown & Medina Nutrition Colby's Email   LEAVE A REVIEW + help someone who may need this podcast by sharing this episode. The Most Effective Way to Build Pipeline & Close More Deals in 2022 | Bill Golder - 1545

The Sales Evangelist

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 1, 2022 25:02

In today's episode of The Sales Evangelist, Donald is joined by Chief Revenue Officer for Service Express, Bill Golder, to learn his strategy to build pipelines and close deals.  Many sellers struggle with building a pipeline. A fully built-out pipeline is never a done deal, meaning you constantly have to adapt to determine what works the best. There are always new problems to address, and the best companies continuously innovate to meet those needs. What are effective pipeline strategies? They focus on understanding the dynamic between early-stage and late-stage pipelines. Many sellers think about a pipeline too holistically, but segmenting the idea of the “pipeline” into different timelines can result in more opportunities. To create an accurate forecast, you have to understand how many early-stage prospects will result in a late-stage pipeline. The dynamics between an early and a late-stage conversion might look entirely different. Bill's guide to implementing new pipeline strategies: If salespeople are reluctant to implement or don't see the value in a new pipeline process, a data-driven approach to identify issues (and how a new strategy can solve them) will be a great tactic. Understand the indicators that actually lead to a conversion versus the feeling of a conversion. Common pipeline building mistakes: There's too much assumption - we assume something is important to them when it might not be. Sellers inherently think their product is essential, but the prospect might have other priorities or issues that make our solution much less important at the moment. Issues aren't because we've lost; deals keep getting pushed. And that's primarily rooted in the failure to understand a prospect's priorities. Understand your late-stage prospects' attributes and identify what measures attract them to purchase. Sales leaders have an integral role to play. Everyone has a unique pipeline with unique problems they might need help solving. As a sales manager, be well-versed in each seller's pipeline so you can root coaching and development based on their metrics to lead to more actionable results. There's a danger to generalize and preach the same message to the whole team. Instead, identify what activities best process the seller's personal goals. Bill's final takeaway? Find the balance of quality and quantity in building a pipeline and know the right types of prospects you should identify. Reach out to Bill at bgolder@serviceexpress.com or connect with him on LinkedIn for more great content.  This episode is brought to you in part by LinkedIn Sales Navigator. To zderzenie powoduje w naszych głowach lekki dysonans. Essay #15: Lauren Golder, 'Voltarine de Cleyre and the Stakes of Anarchist Free Love'

In this essay, Lauren Golder looks at gendered interpretations of free love and sex radicalism through the life of American anarchist-feminist Voltairine de Cleyre (1866-1912). During the Gilded Age, anarchist men often interpreted free love as a path to personal fulfillment and sexual liberation, while anarchist women saw it as a way to achieve reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy. De Cleyre believed that anarchist free love was women's best hope for freedom from patriarchal oppression, a position which was reinforced by her experience of unwanted pregnancy and encounters with misogyny both within and outside of the anarchist movement. Lauren Golder teaches History and Gender Studies at Santa Monica College and Victor Valley College in California. Her research explores the intersections of American anarchism, gender, and intimate life, and she is working on a book tentatively titled Intimate Experiments: Free Love, Domesticity, and Feminism in the American Anarchist Movement, 1880-1920.
