TNQP Internal Episode – Summer of 2025 Recap In this week's special edition of the Team Never Quit Podcast, Marcus, Melanie, and Hunter look back on the summer of 2025—a season filled with unforgettable adventures, joyful moments, and one devastating event. Marcus and Hunter recount their personal involvement in the recovery efforts during the tragic 4th of July flood in Kerrville, Texas, offering a raw glimpse into the resilience and service that define the TNQ spirit. But this episode is more than a recap. It's a reminder of what life can be when rooted in family, fun, patriotism, and service to others. The Crew” is moving onward to a fabulous line-up of guests for rest of the 2025 season. Whether you've been with us from the beginning or are tuning in for the first time, welcome to the Team Never Quit Podcast—where stories of courage, resilience, and never quitting take center stage. In this episode you will hear: • There's some age where you just shouldn't do [Roller Coasters] anymore and I'm definitely past that age. (3:06) • What is it about things that cause you pain. “He's got horrible [sickness]” – let's try that. (5:00) • [What is a “never again” experience that you've done and absolutely hated?] “I thought it was scuba diving, but once I got in the water in Hawaii, I actually loved it a lot.” (5:54) • We both just started a workout routine. (7:05) • Marcus and Melanie share highlights of their Hawaii trip, including Pearl Harbor, Diamondhead, Waikiki, and Trident Adventures, where they literally throw your ass out of the helicopter into the ocean. (8:20) • On Memorial Day we went to the Danny Dietz Memorial Roping in Decatur, Texas. (11:43) • The Luttrell's stop in Las Vegas had many very cool stops. Tom Brady & Jim Gray opened a sports museum in the Fontainebleau Hotel. We suggest seeing Boulder city and Hoover dam. (12:56) • See the Navy SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce, Florida, as well as in San Diego. (18:00) • We watched David Copperfield. And if you haven't seen him – some of the stuff he pulled off was unbelievable, including a gigantic UFO. • Their visit to Lake Tahoe starts at 22:28. • On July 4th weekend, there was a terrible storm that cam over Texas. Most have heard about what happened at Camp Mystic. Marcus, Morgan, and Hunter volunteered to assist with search and recovery for 8 days. That was the saddest thing Marcus had ever been a part of. “We're talking about babies.” (24:47) • “Hands down. Texans: You all are the best people on the planet of Earth.” (26:38) • When the flood came through the mountain, it hit Mystic at the headwater, but the river is 120 miles. It was complete devastation from the beginning to the end. (27:35) • The gamechanger – the ones that changed the dynamic of everything were the excavator drivers. (29:26) • One of the most difficult things was the search. You gotta understand the situation we were in. You're looking for something hoping you don't find. (34:17) If you drive through Houston, you'll see green ribbons on gates and mailboxes and trees. It's for all the lives lost. (39:25) • When you lose your child, that's the hardest burden that can be strapped on you. (39:39) • Axe went to the Naval Academy Baseball and Leadership Camp. (45:02) • We attended the congressional baseball game. If you ever wanted a real opportunity to yell at your congressman, go to the baseball game. (45:29) • On September 12th and 13th, the Danny Dietz Barbeque Cookoff takes place at the Yogi Bear Jellystone Park in Waller, Texas. RJ Bell and Mackenzie Rivers talk Preseason to NFL Week 1 best bets. The latest Dream Podcast episode, “PreSeasonPalooza, 15 Bets!!,” is a classic mix of sharp betting systems, insider debates, and off-the-rails humor, the kind of show that feels like sitting in a sportsbook bar where the conversation drifts from ATS systems to Larry Bird versus Magic Johnson. RJ Bell opens by reminding listeners about the special Pregame discounts and touting the records of handicappers like AJ Hoffman, Goodfella, and others, before pivoting into the heart of the show: an unusually strong batch of preseason Week 3 betting angles. McKenzie Rivers kicks things off with a light story about the Taste of Chicago festival, which leads RJ into a tangent about Stevie Wonder's 2008 performance and the eternal debate over Chicago deep dish pizza, the type of side story that illustrates how much the Dream Pod thrives on detail and memory. From there, the real substance begins. RJ emphasizes that this preseason slate may be the best group of plays he has seen, with twelve recommendations and five best bets, while McKenzie contributes three researched totals for Week 1, giving listeners over fifteen actionable wagers. McKenzie's primary research zeroes in on the effect of quarterbacks who do not play a single snap in the preseason. Since the NFL moved to a three-game preseason in 2021, those teams have gone 27–12 to the under in Week 1, with an average ATS margin of –2.6 points. Their team totals also fall short, averaging –3.2 compared to expectations. RJ pushes back, calling the no-snap approach “idiotic,” arguing that football players improve by playing football, but McKenzie notes the trend has only grown stronger. They cite teams like the Cowboys, Eagles, Buccaneers, Falcons, Rams, Bills, and Ravens as Week 1 under candidates, especially in games like Cowboys vs Eagles, Buccaneers vs Falcons, and Ravens vs Bills. In classic forum fashion, the pod spins into a debate about Peyton Manning versus Tom Brady, with McKenzie insisting the numbers favor Manning's brilliance and RJ countering that Brady's postseason success and rings will age better historically. From there they wander into Bird vs Magic, Bill Walton's brief dominance, and Gilbert Arenas' scoring outbursts, demonstrating how sports arguments naturally expand. Eventually RJ reins it back in with his own powerful Week 3 preseason system: play favorites who lost both straight up and against the spread in Week 2. Since 2021 these teams are 14–5–1 ATS, but the real gold is in the first quarter, where they are effectively undefeated with massive scoring margins. At home the trend is even stronger, with a 10–1 ATS record and a combined +180 point margin. RJ breaks down which teams qualify this year, including Kansas City, Detroit, the Jets, and Dallas at home, plus Bills, Steelers, Raiders, and Chargers on the road. He highlights home teams in the first quarter as the true best bet subset, noting an 11–0 record with an average +9 point differential. The conversation shifts to how small sample size intersects with logical consistency, with RJ stressing that this system passes the test because it makes sense up and down the spectrum. McKenzie adds that home momentum explains why the advantage continues beyond the opening quarter. As always, the pod mixes sharp betting insight with humor, from round robin discussions to jokes about Britney Spears movies on Easter. The episode closes with RJ previewing Pregame's content schedule: the annual Quarterback Draft, the Season Win Totals Over/Under show, and weekly Dream Previews through the Super Bowl. The takeaway for bettors is clear: Week 1 unders for teams with zero preseason QB snaps, and Week 3 first quarter plays for favorites off a loss, especially at home, form the strongest edges going into the season. Kodai Senga struggled in the Mets' loss to DC, and Mendoza commented on his performance. Myles Garrett avoided talking about his speeding ticket, and we discussed the Micah Parsons situation. Hour 1 Boomer and Gio are concerned about Kodai Senga's performance and suggest David Peterson as the Mets' playoff ace. Jerry's update covers the Yankees' win over the Rays, the Mets' loss (Senga gave up 4 earned runs, Nimmo left with a stiff neck), "What is Anthony Gallo Talking About?", a bullet through Andy Reid's office window last year, and Sachia Vickery's $1,000 pre-date deposit on OnlyFans. Hour 2 The hour began with a discussion about Tom Brady's golf course venture and his son. Dan in Carteret called to discuss the new Bengals stadium, but instead mocked Boomer's head size. NFL trades were a topic, as was a caller's frustration about not acknowledging Robert Plant's birthday. Another caller questioned why all WFAN hosts vacation in the summer. Jerry's update started with the Yankees beating the Rays, hitting five more home runs. Jose Caballero's ejection and post-game comments were covered. Kodai Senga's rough outing in the Mets' loss to DC was discussed, along with Mendoza's comments. Myles Garrett avoided talking about his speeding ticket, and the Micah Parsons situation in Dallas remained unresolved. The hour concluded with the social media buzz around Cracker Barrel's logo change, with many perceiving them as "woke" due to the new logo and interior changes. Hour 3 We began discussing the Giants' improved optimism this season due to positional upgrades. Boomer stressed the importance of Russell Wilson avoiding turnovers and the defense creating them, unlike last season. Adam Schein will do Sunday highlights on CBS, not the highly paid talent. Jerry returned for an update, but first, someone made him t-shirts with his death-related sayings. The Yankees beat the Rays with 5 more homers. We then discussed the slang term 'NPC'. The hour concluded with a discussion on Phil Mickelson and those who believe he 'ruined golf'. Hour 4 Bubba Wallace in-studio, Boomer compares NASCAR to LIE driving. Jerry's final update: Yankees beat Rays with Stanton's tenth-inning pinch-hit HR. Ohtani hit in thigh by line drive. Jets held a players-only practice, overseen by Aaron Glenn. Moment of The Day: host struggles with 'depth'. Jordan Davis calls in to discuss Cracker Barrel.

Guy Haberman, who's filling in right now for the legendary Greg Papa, is busy, but he made time for us. Since Guy considers me a “football outsider,” we decided to have fun with that status. In this podcast, I operate as Football Skeptic, wondering why the sport is how it is, and questioning if indeed it should be. Because you can tell me I'm an idiot here or in the Group Chat. Topics include…* Should NFL teams just never practice in preseason because Full Health would be a massive Week 1 advantage? * Are injuries luck? * Does my defensive shrinkage theory explain why NFL offense is slipping? * Am I a FOOL for wanting an NFL defense with 11 fast totally interchangeable guys?* Is Kyle Shanahan actually a genius? * Am I biased against Shanahan because he's inarticulate? * What determines which NFL positions get money? Is it merit based?* Bill Belichick, Tom Brady skeptic? * Why did the 49ers lose the Super Bowl by not expecting a predictable play?* It's about Acceptable Quarterback, not Exceptional QuarterbackHouse of Strauss is a reader-supported publication. Thanks to our Partner, NAPA Autotech Training and Pico TechnologyWatch Full Video EpisodeIn this episode of Diagnosing the Aftermarket A to Z, Matt Fanslow takes a detour from his usual pop culture quotes and instead pulls wisdom from an unlikely source: Tom Brady.Brady's recent interview stirred up some debate, but Matt digs into why technicians, shop owners, and service advisors should pay attention. It's not about football stats or Super Bowl rings—it's about preparation, accountability, and being part of a team that wins together. What You'll Learn in This Episode:Why Tom Brady's relentless preparation matters just as much in a repair shop as it does on the football field. How great technicians can (and should) take interest in more than just “their bay”—including front-of-house operations, management decisions, and shop profitability. The balance between accountability and respect: holding management and teammates responsible without tearing them down. How effort, process, and adaptability create opportunities for success—and why relying on “luck” isn't enough. The parallel between team sports and auto repair shops: winning requires every player, from the service advisor to the shop foreman to the owner.Matt also isn't afraid to jab at a few colleagues (sorry, Buffalo fans—Tom Brady didn't exactly give Josh Allen the blessing), all while reminding us that success in auto repair is about more than just cranking hours. It's about growth, teamwork, and improving the environment for everyone involved. Thanks to our Partner, NAPA Autotech TrainingNAPA Autotech's team of ASE Master Certified Instructors are conducting over 1,200 classes covering 28 automotive topics. What if masculinity could be redefined? Well, I don't know. I don't really know what that means. It sounds like something Tom Brady would say on a Sunday morning in a watch commercial while I'm ambling to the kitchen to get more chips. But now knowing it's some dummy sitting in front of his TV cords mumbling about eating vegetables or something, well hey, now I'm ready to sign up to go to some weird man yelling camp! I want everybody to be careful about reading too much - or anything, into preseason games, because they matter exactly as much as Zach Wilson's turquoise jersey number. Preseason games are a month long lie for your eyes. they're the OG AI. They are the NFL's version of a Civil War reenactment. They only look real. Well, unless you believe Skylar Thompson's three touchdown performance over the weekend means the Steelers can now cut Aaron Rodgers. The only thing that matters is whether the guys who'll be on the field don't get hurt before the games start to matter. And yeah, I know - preseason games matter for the guys on the fringe… but that's what scrimmages are for. If football players needed preseason games, how come they don't play 'em in college? Listen, football however you wanna football… but with the season - the actual season - now on the near horizon, I wanna focus on the things that do matter. Or will in January. That's what we'll get into on episode two of Football America! One of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, Greg Olsen stops by to set the record straight on his so-called rivalry with Tom Brady, and gives us a preview of his new venture, Youth, Inc. We guess the Over and Under with Mike Ryan Ruiz. And the Super Fuentes Brothers teach me all about QB Tinder. Swipe right. Right? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
