It was held by Milkshake Events and it was a busy night, because it being freshers week and the youngsters were out and ready to party, I wanted to keep it funky but still with that tough underground edge, So I warmed the crowd up starting from the more lighter and funkier Edge of Tech with more of a Tech House/House mix. Issu d'une famille de griot, Moh Kouyate met toute son énergie à remettre la Guinée au centre de la géographie musicale du continent africain. ► Moh Kouyaté sera en concert le 21 décembre 2023 dans le cadre de la 35ᵉ édition du festival Africolor, au théâtre Gérard Philippe à Saint-Denis.► Moh Kouyaté sera l'un des invités de la session live de l'émission Musique du Monde ce dimanche 3 décembre 2023 sur RFI à 20h10 TU. 

BlackCheugah est une artiste Camerounaise qui vit aux Etats-Unis depuis près de 30 ans. Elle a découvert ce pays en 1994 lorsqu'elle y est amenée dans la délégation officielle de son pays en tant que danseuse pour prester à l'occasion de la cérémonie d'ouverture de la Coupe du Monde de Football qu'accueille alors l'Amérique. Depuis, elle pris goût de Los Angeles ... Alors qu'elle travaille aujourd'hui dans le domaine médical, elle a décidé d'enfin libérer une passion qui l'a toujours habitée, le chant. Car si elle a été danseuse, chorégraphe, puis mannequin, l'une des choses qui l'a toujours passionnée en travaillant avec Mory Kante, Ndedi Dibango, ou encore Tshala Muana, c'était de chanter. Elle nous explique dans Le Bon As Radio comment au Cameroun elle mentait sur son âge pour avoir le droit de travailler avec les artistes, comment elle a manqué l'occasion de saisir son opportunité pour avoir dansé pour Mick Jagger aux USA sans savoir qui il était, comment elle a dansé pour Janet Jackson ... Vuelven los años 80. Ahora 80s. Llevamos 40 años para sacarnos de encima esa dichosa década. En este programa de Achilitime se intenta explicar dos cosas. Por un lado, que el rumbero que esté libre de versión que tire la primera piedra. Y por otro que los detonantes siempre han sido los mismos. Oigamos. Empieza el programa con el "Hotel California" de los Eagles de 1976, astutamente reinterpretado por los Gipsy Kings en 1990. Un año antes de la Olimpiada. Un año antes de que Peret reemprendiera su carrera tras 10 años en "el culto". Catorce años después de que fuera un hit mundial en su versión original. Ojo, en las emisoras españolas suena a diario en casi todas -no es broma-, así entenderás (si lees esto desde fuera de España -help-) que es lo que se entiende aquí por cultura, o por radio. De vuelta. La versión del "Hotel California" es un superhit planetario que posiciona para siempre en el top de la rumba a los franceses Gipsy Kings. Sorprendentemente es una adaptación autorizada del tema. Para traducir o adaptar la lírica de una canción se han de seguir unos tramites burocráticos estrictos. Escuchen esta letra del Hotel California en castellano e intenten creer que ustedes lo entienden. Un año después los Manolos aplican la misma ecuación y rescatan el "All My Loving" de 1964 de The Beatles y sorpresa: también lo petan. La casualidad. ¿Parece fácil no?. Sigamos, en 1995 Kiko Veneno cae en la cuenta y recupera el "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again" de Bob Dylan de 1976 y lo transforma en su "Memphis Blues Again". No es super ventas pero despunta bastante. Pero estos temas citados, con los que arranca el programa son anteriores a los 80s. Así pues, aunque el programa se hubiera llamado como su carátula Now 80s, tras oírlo recordad: no hace falta hacer más versiones por rumba de canciones ochenteras. Ni anteriores. ¿O si?.Llegamos al tramo de los ochentas. Festival de intentos. El "Another Brick In The Wall" hit de Pink Floyd de 1980, se transformó en "Y los Niños con las motos" de Los Guachis en 2007: ¿tarde?. El "Back in Black" de 1980 de los ACDC lo recupera en 2009 Tomasito: curioso. El "Me No Pop I/Que Pasa" de Coati Mundi también de 1980 lo reciclan Achilifunk Sound System en 2016 con más pena que gloria: otro fracaso. Los Manolos recuperan en 1994 el "Que te quiero" de Katrina & the Waves de 1983: nada. Manzanita transforma el "Karma Chameleon" de Culture Club de 1983 en "Dame una solución" en el año 2001, adaptando con cariño letra incluso y soportando el consecuente trámite de pedir permiso a Boy George. Preciosa versión, nula repercusión. Sigamos, en 1991 Rumbeat versionea el "I Just call yo Say i Love you" de Stevie Wonder de 1984 en pitinglish sin alcanzar las cotas de horterismo del original. Otros que lo bordan, en 2011 el combo de Girona llamado Hermano Loco adaptan como "Triangulo de Amor Raro" el "Bizarre Love Triangle" de New Order de 1986. El tema estuvo a punto de ser editado en un recopilatorio japonés tras dar permiso la editorial y ser autorizada por el mismísimo Peter Hook. Lástima, podría haber tenido algún recorrido.Seguimos, Los Amaya versionan el "Englishman in New York" 1987 de Sting en pitinglish. Traducen el título como "Un Inglés en Nueva York" pero no se adapta la letra, lástima. Años después, en 2003, el combo Che Sudaka la transforma, adapta y traduce a su gusto -desconocemos si legalmente- y la llama "Sin Papeles" en su primer cd "Trippie Town" (K Industria, 2003). Tampoco sabemos si debieron de escuchar U2 su "With or without you" de 1987 cuando acabó siendo en 2012 "Dame Churrasco" en la voz de Rumba Tarumba, enésima escisión de Los Manolos: mejor no. El "Yé Ké Yé Ké" de Mory Kante de 1987 en la voz de Los Lachós ("Yeke Yeke" 1988) seguramente se debió de oír hasta en Guinea, además sólo tardaron un año en replicarla. Un hit underground de la tecno rumba acamelada que tuvo otros discípulos aventajados en Sándalo, que sacaron un Lp repleto de versiones 80s y hasta el "All That She Wants" (1993) de Ace of Base que ellos llamaron "Desnúdate" 1994 en la linea de las adaptaciones españolas de de títulos de películas. Antes y siguiendo la cronología de este Achilitime oirás el "Where is My Mind" de Pixies (1988) transformado en la rumba "¿Me Lo Dices O Me Lo Cuentas?" diez años después por Azucarillo Kings, con notable repercusión en los circuitos undergrounds de desmelene. Y una versión inédita del "Smell Like Teen Spirit" de Nirvana de 1991 grabada como maqueta por Gertrudis en 2009 cuando aún eran un combo de rumba. El programa acaba con el "Wonderwall" de Oasis, perpetrada por Los Sobraos. Basta oírla para entender el apelativo del grupo.Un flashback a los dulces ochentas por rumba, tecno rumba y gipsy rock, donde el oportunismo y oportunidad se confunden con el riesgo y éxito. La rumba, como el reggae o cualquier genero en si mismo, tiene la capacidad de fagocitar del pop más ñoño al heavy pasando por el afrobeat o reggae. Ahí estriba su grandeza como género musical.

C’est ainsi que nous retrouvons Pierre Kwenders (José Louis Modabi), né à Kinshasa et grandi à Montréal, avec son nouveau complice, le francilien Clément Bazin (Woodkid) et le pionnier de la musique électronique, chanteur et compositeur congolais Bony Bikaye qui, après avoir été le directeur musical de Zaïko Langa Langa (Papa Wemba), a sorti 2 albums cultes dans les années 80 (Noir et Blanc, Mr Manager) avec Hector Zazou (Pierre Job) alors journaliste à Radio Nova. Pierre Kwenders et Clément Bazin sont nos invités pour la sortie de l’Ep Classe Tendresse. Deux ans après la sortie de son dernier album, le producteur et instrumentiste français Clément Bazin est de retour chez Nowadays aux côtés du chanteur et activiste montréalais Pierre Kwenders, du brûlant collectif Moonshine, pour un premier EP en duo suave et délicieux. Entre steel pan, sonorités africaines et chant pop, à la découverte d’une palette de sentiments au service de l’universalité, à cheval sur les styles et les genres. Ainsi que Bony Bikaye pour la réédition de l’album Mister Manager chez Crammed Discs, agrémenté de nombreux inédits et toujours ce synthé Modulaire CY1 qui est la marque de fabrique du duo et d’autres ingénieux colleurs de sons de l’époque comme Brian Eno et David Byrne. Emiliano moved to Europe 15 years ago, where he connected with the electronic music scene, starting to form his style in the music world, playing drums for DJ Chus & Joeski on their classic track called 'El Amor.'  Together, Bryan and Emiliano form Sparrow & Barbossa, creating a fusion between organic and electronic progressive sounds. Their age difference has a positive influence on both their releases and performance. While Bryan brings the freshness of modern sounds and melodies, Emiliano fine-tunes the rhythmic part and builds up his knowledge throughout the years. Le musicien et chanteur guinéen Mory Kante, le griot électrique, le propulseur du grand tube des années 1980 Yeke Yeke, s’est éteint le 22 mai dernier, des suites d’une longue maladie, après avoir contribué à populariser la musique africaine et guinéenne dans le monde. C’est à Paris qu’il accède à la notoriété internationale, avec son tube Yeke Yeke qui a fait danser toute la planète. Sorti en 1987, ce tube atteint les sommets des hit-parades dans plusieurs pays européens. Le titre du morceau Akwaba Beach (qui signifie Bienvenue) est l’une des plus grosses ventes mondiales d’Afrique, et est récompensé, l’année suivante, d’une Victoire de la Musique. This show started in Kolkatta, moved to Kenya, then a brief RIP to Mory Kante, some Afro-Canadian fusion, a shout-out to Rokia Traore's child custody woes, and moved on through West Africa to Colombia, Wales, Sweden, France, The Balkans, Mississippi, and up to the safe side of the 49th with a feature on the new CD by The Burying Ground (country blues from Roberts Creek), and all sorts of Canadiana before Tim Readman gave us an exclusive on a new song about Going On Zoom. Ended with a flourish of Celtic music from BC's Kierah, and two great Irish bands - The Pogues and Four Men & A Dog. Phew! 35 years on CiTR!!! The odd technological flaw apart, this was a FUN show. With more than 300 singles and albums including remixes for Faithless, Moby, Snap, Yello, Human League, Mory Kante, Utah Saints to name a few, he made it in the premier leage of international producers and keeps surprising and amazing people with his extraordinary sounds and diversity. Frankfurt based DJ & producer Oliver Lieb is involved in the production of electronic music since 1988. With more than 300 singles and albums including remixes for Faithless, Moby, Snap, Yello, Human League, Mory Kante, Utah Saints to name a few, he made it in the premier leage of international producers and keeps surprising and amazing people with his extraordinary sounds and diversity. At the age of 14 he started playing bass in several Funk/Soul/Jazz bands. Oliver also got in touch with electronic music (Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk,Yello, Jean-Michel Jarre) and discovered a new and an endless horizon of expressing himself. In late 1989 Oliver’s first record FORCE LEGATO “System” got released by Dorian Gray resident DJ Torsten Fenslau on his Abfahrt label. The single gained great worldwide reactions and almost hit the official German charts. In the years to follow Oliver released everything in the electronic genres from downtempo and chill-out to hard experimental techno and trance. His project Spicelab on Sven Väth’s legendary Harthouse label established a platform for his highly appreciated sounds, which developed into one of the most important projects of the label including the release of three full length album releases. Oliver never wanted to focus on just one specific genre he simply created several pseudonyms for each of his different styles. His LSG and Paragliders releases on Superstition Rec. are still considered as one of the most influencing and timeless trance projects and were developed for more than 10 years and 5 Albums. His maxis and albums got licensed on Hooj Choons, Yoshitoshi, Platipus, Duty Free, Magic Muzic and many others. After leaving Superstition in 2004 it was time for doing something new especially since the whole music scene went through big changes and somehow redefined itself. After locking himself into his studio to create new sounds and going into all kind of different directions Oliver announced the start of his own label “Maschine” in summer 2005 which is distributed worldwide by “Neuton” and online exclusively through Beatport and released his first single “Solieb - Circus Maximus” in July. The reactions were great and two more maxis followed until the end of 2005. Maschine is about to turn into a main source for high quality forward electronic music and grabs more and more peoples attention. In 2007 Oliver started a new company doing mastering and cutting vinyl. After all this was a logic step since he is known for a very high sound standard on his own productions and so he added some high end analog mastering gear to his studio to guarantee sound quality enhancement also for his clients. After the endless process of planning, constructions and moving in to the new studio and finally focusing on the new company he took a bit of a break from producing and djing - also to focus on a new sound and directions. In 2010 Oliver started a new label Solieb Digital to re-release his old music after re-mastering and polishing the tracks. So far there are 15 releases including his ambient album on Recycle or Die as well as two albums from Spicelab, L.S.G. – The Black Album Remastered Compilation and the L.S.G. „Unreleased Album“ were released. Since late 2010/early 2011 Oliver has started working again on new productions. The first release Parallax was an exclusive track for John Digweeds Structures two CD followed in July by the Oliver Lieb - Epsilon Eridani EP - on Bedrock. After upgrading and changing his studio setup in Summer 2011 he also appeared as a remixer again starting with Ioan Gamboa, Davide Cali and Microtrauma´s "Aktin" on Microtonal. In February 2012 Oliver Lieb together with Jimmy van M. released a mix CD as „The Audible Suspects" on Bedrock that was highly appreciated both for the outstanding overall sound quality and the track selection. Late November the Oliver Lieb - „Collider EP“ was released on Diametral with remixes by Solee and Matthias Spriger. In December two more remixes came out - Rich Curtis Lower my voice on Release Rec. and Mauro Norti - Last Day that made it to the Beatport Techno sales charts on #6. 2013 was very busy – it started in January with „The Shortest Day / Yarra EP“ on Tulipa Rec. with original Oliver Lieb tracks plus remixes from Android Cartel, Dapayk Solo and Roland M. Dill and two releases on Blackhole´s sister label Fris! Oliver Lieb –„Altiplano“ in January and „Ear Candy“ in April. In March „Rack to the Boots EP“ was released on Solee´s label Parquet followed by remixes for Solee´s „Jonalu“ and Teho & Tran´s track „Almeria“ – both on Parquet. Two EPs on Natura Viva came out in July and November (Tarsius EP and Hold it Back EP) while a remix for Citizen Kain´s track King Size was released on Natura Viva in between. In September Oliver re-launched his label Maschine with the well received „In Transit EP“ and released an EP on Elektrax Recordings (The Prophet EP) in November – both on vinyl and digital. Further on there were remixes on Microcastle (Deepfunk & Kassey Voorn), System Recordings, Wide Angle Rec., Modu Rec. and a few more. In December there will be a remix on Flow Rec. for JML – Seek til you find. For 2014 there are already a lot of releases planned. Starting with „Dark Energy EP“ on Proton early January and remixes for Inlab Rec and Natura Viva. While studying Audio Engineering in Florida, he began learning the art mixing in the studio as well as a DJ in the Orlando nightclub and underground dance scene.Producing a variety of dance genres, all with a driving and psychedelic undertone, JB has his sights set on bringing his flavor of progressive dance music to festivals and nightclubs the world over.
