Biomedicinski model obravnava duševne težave predvsem kot biološka oziroma fiziološka stanja – enako torej kot telesne bolezni. Biopsihosocialni prostop je veliko bolj celosten.V zgodovini sta se uveljavila dva temeljna modela pojmovanja zdravja in bolezni in v tem okviru tudi dva modela pojmovanja duševnih motenj. To sta biomedicinski in biopsihosocialni model. Čeprav so biopsihosocialni model zagovarjali že Wilhelm Wundt, Sigmund Freud in nekateri drugi véliki psihologi moderne dobe, si ta še vedno ni izboril mesta, ki mu pritiče, v Glasovih svetov pojasnjuje psiholog in raziskovalec Dino Manzoni z Znanstvenoraziskovalnega centra Slovenske akademije znanosti in umetnosti.

Welcome back to THE IAS COMPANION. Follow us on YouTube: www.youtube.com/@IASCompanion. Today, we will delve into Structuralism, one of the foundational schools of psychology.Wilhelm Wundt, often regarded as the father of psychology, established the first psychology laboratory at the University of Leipzig in 1879, marking the start of psychology as an experimental science. Edward B. Titchener, Wundt's student, brought Structuralism to the U.S., significantly developing its methods and theories. Structuralism, pioneered by Wundt and Titchener, played a crucial role in the early development of psychology. While its methods had limitations, its legacy endures in its contributions to psychological science. #UPSC #IASprep #civilserviceexam #IASexamination #IASaspirants #UPSCjourney #IASexam #civilservice #IASgoals #UPSC2024 #IAS2024 #civilservant #IAScoaching #aUPSCmotivation #IASmotivation #UPSCpreparation #IASpreparation #UPSCguide #IASguide #UPSCtips #IAStips #UPSCbooks #IASbooks #UPSCexamstrategy #IASexamstrategy #UPSCmentorship #IASmentorship #UPSCcommunity #IAScommunity #UPSCpreparation #IASpreparation #UPSCguide #IASguide #UPSCtips #IAStips #UPSCbooks #IASbooks #UPSCexamstrategy #IASexamstrategy #UPSCmentorship #IASmentorship #UPSCcommunity #IAScommunity

Ben Mumme is the founder, curator, and podcast host of the Living Your Greatness Podcast. The purpose of the podcast is to inspire millions of people across the world to achieve greatness and enhance their overall personal well-being.  Living Your Greatness is becoming the go-to resource that CEOs, elite athletes, professional coaches, and entrepreneurs rely on to upgrade themselves. The podcast helps you master the best of what other people have already figured out. __ When the new year comes around the corner, we are more inclined to ask ourselves and others about our new year resolutions, instead of questioning “what lessons did we learn this year?” In other words, we prospect before even introspecting. Pragmatic prospection is the process through which one thinks about the future by imagining what one wants to happen, while also considering the obstacles, so as to map out and guide the actions that would bring about desirable outcomes.  The problem is, however, that when we prospect before first introspecting—when we plan for what's ahead before reflecting on what has already passed—we're doing ourselves enormous disfavor by not allowing ourselves to process our emotions and thoughts.  Introspection is a process that involves looking inward to examine one's own thoughts and emotions. Also known as experimental self-observation, the term was used to describe a research technique that was first developed by psychologist Wilhelm Wundt, which involved training people to carefully and objectively analyze the content of their own thoughts. That's why, the best thing you can do for yourself around this time of the year is to create a comfortable space to sit in, put on some relaxing music, prepare yourself a hot beverage, let go of all expectations, and journal through some introspective and prospective questions.  The idea is simple: Prepare and plan for the year ahead by first working through and assessing the one that just passed. By reflecting on the year, you surface your successes, sorrows, and any behavioral and thought patterns that hold you back. By planning for the year ahead, you step into it with full confidence, along with the knowledge that you're much more intentional about your life and in control of it.  Learn 5 writing prompts for a transformative new year!  __ Host: Ben Mumme Twitter Medium YouTube Instagram __ Let's Connect

Psychological experiments can be looked at several ways. Especially when considering the reasons they are being conducted. Is it for the enrichment of people, to better understand what it is that makes us tick or what could help us be happier? Or is it to understand how we think, and how we can be manipulated into certain behavioral patterns? Maybe benevolent, maybe sinister, or maybe just for the sake of science. The first true psychological experiments were thought to be performed by Wilhelm Wundt in 1879, and since then countless studies have taken place. One such experiment was conducted by Stanley Milgram and it produced some WILD results. The testing took place in the early 1960's with the purpose of testing peoples obedience to authority figures, and the resulting outcome was nothing short of shocking (there's a pun here, tune in to enjoy). So please, join us for the ride as we go down the rabbit hole on how humans react to authority figures and the propensity to obey when you are told to do so. It should give you all some insight to things that are still taking place in our current state of affairs. THEY LIVE might just be a documentary… CHEERS!!!

Thank you for listening to another episode of DWP! The first installment on my mind control series talks about the early stages of modern psychology created by Wilhelm Wundt. His idea was that man was an animal and rather than studying the mind or the soul, psychologists began looking into brain science and why it works the way it does. He recruited many bright minds in the late 1800s and those men went on to found and lecture at many Ivy League schools with a focus on the Prussian schooling method. It was in this fashion that the early stages of mind control and indoctrination in school began. Introspection is a term in psychology that relates to examining your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. The first real science about introspection came on to psychological sciences platforms when Wilhelm Wundt did famous experiments trying to define conscious thought through the study of introspection.Though according to Simple Psychology, introspection cannot be subjectively verified, it is something that can be used to study the perceptual process and how your cognitive processes work. In more simple terms than Simple Psychology put it, introspection can help you learn why you think the way you think and see things the way you do.

Wundt established the first psychology lab but continued to see psychology as a science of self-observation, while the philosopher Avenarius embraced the emerging materialistic perspective in which the same physical methods that had just been successfully applied to explaining life could be used to explain conscious experience. Russo Krauss, a researcher at the University of Naples Federico II, makes clear the major role that Avenarius played in the shaping of psychology into the science that it is today. Structuralism: (1st school of thought is psychology) an approach that emphasized breaking down consciousness and mental activity into structural components and analyzing them individually. Psychology was founded in 1879, when the first laboratory was established by WILHELM WUNDT at Leipzig University, in Leipzig Germany; some early psychologist who followed, including WILLIAM JAMES (the founder of modern psychology), were chiefly interested in studying human functioning via introspection.
