To me Valentine's is so much more impactful when it feels like a season of extra love, rather than a mandatory date night on a certain day. At the entrance to our wedding in 2009, when I was 27 years old, I hand rhinestoned letters to go over the arch walking into our reception in Mexico that said CELEBRATE LOVE because that's literally my life mantra. Can I Laugh On Your Shoulder? Podcast is a weekly podcast where we have honest conversations about faith, business, life, and everything in between. Hosted by speaker and author, Molly Stillman, her mission is to make you laugh, cry, and laugh till you cry. She wants to create a community of people who are unafraid to be themselves and have honest conversations about the things that matter most. Her vision is to create a safe space for people to explore their faith and share their stories and gifts with the world. Keywords faith, creativity, community, artists, shelters, book Takeaways Creativity is a part of everyone's identity as they are made in the image of the Creator. Community plays a vital role in nurturing creativity and serving the Lord as an artist. The intersection of faith and creativity can have a powerful impact on culture and the world. Even small acts of creativity in everyday life, like cooking a meal, can bring richness and beauty. There is a need for more community and support for adult singles, who often feel left out by the church. Writing a book or pursuing a creative project takes a lot of work and effort, but it can be a fulfilling and rewarding experience. Sharing stories and experiences of artists and creatives can inspire and encourage others to step into their own creativity.

On this week's episode of the Friends in Beauty podcast I welcome Jeffery Glenn to the Friends in Beauty guest chair. Jeffery Glenn is a renaissance man, a natural born creative and artist whose work expands across multiple facets of the entertainment and beauty industries. He is a man that is diligent, executes with passion, and performs with integrity at focus. Being from Miami, Fl., he also brings a unique flavor into the room. In 2008, he was accepted into the Department of Theatre Arts with a concentration in musical theatre at the illustrious Howard University. While receiving his training, he met Reggie Ray who served as his professor and mentor. He'd trained in stage makeup with Reggie Ray. The training entailed that of character makeup, enhancement, and what defines beauty. It was then when he realized a love for creating and storytelling through the art of make-up. Once he received a Bachelors of Fine Arts, he jumped into the field working on campaigns with model agencies in the D.C. area. Finding his power in editorial beauty, Jeffery began to leave his mark making an impact with photographers, stylists, models, etc. He soon after started landing spreads in magazines (Elléments, Elegant, PUMP, Selin, Solstice Magazine, Essence) both nationally and internationally. This led him to gain clientele from D.C., New York, and his hometown Miami, Fl. After working on the east coast for 3 years, Jeffery relocated to the Los Angeles area venturing into tv and film. His credits include Rihanna's ANTI World Tour, Regina Hall (Scary Movie, Girls Trip), Rah Digga of Flipmode Squad, Tiffany Haddish, KJ Smith (Tyler Perry's “Sistas”), Charlemagne Tha God, Desus Nice, Kash Doll, Aisha Hinds (9-1-1, True Blood), Chris Spencer, Tammy Townsend (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Camille Winbush (The Bernie Mac Show), Elle Varner, Paloma Ford, Miss Nikki Baby (Love & HipHop Hollywood), Olympic gold medalist English Gardner, Wanda Durant, Birgundi Baker (The Chi), Lauren E. It's not every day that a game show host comes onto The Speaker Lab podcast. But this is your lucky day! For this episode, Mike Montague joins Grant for an exciting conversation about how he balances podcasting, speaking, game show hosting, and his job for a prominent sales and leadership training company. While some might have a specific vision of what it means to be a speaker, for Mike it means any time he's behind a microphone. He knows how to bring the party to whatever kind of event he's leading, whether it's a corporate seminar for a multinational company or a keynote where he's throwing water balloons at the audience.Mike strikes an unusual balance for a speaker, as he has multiple ongoing employment contracts on top of his independent speaking business. As a result, this episode offers a great deal of insight into managing multiple streams of income. Most speakers scale and diversify their business at some point, so even if you're not at that point yet, it can be really helpful to hear what that process is like for someone as multi-talented as Mike. Deciding whether to go all-in on entrepreneurship is a tough decision with many factors. Family, finances, and prior commitments can all impact the decision. Whether you like the stability of having one employer or you enjoy juggling multiple jobs at once, Mike's story will certainly have some insights for you. You'll also learn all about: Coping when your dream job isn't everything you thought it would be. How to create contracts with your employer that allow you freedom in your speaking business. How to shake off imposter syndrome by getting comfortable in your niche. When it's time to take risks with your audience. What it's like to audition for game show gigs. How to write a game show script. …and so much more!Episode Resources:Visit Mike's WebsiteConnect with Mike on LinkedInCheck out Mike's Podcast - Playful HumansBook a Call with The Speaker LabSubscribe on Apple PodcastsGet Booked & Paid To SpeakGet a FREE Copy of The Successful SpeakerSpeaker Fee CalculatorSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ready to dream + explore more possibilities of how to profit from your Creative Gifts! Welcome to part 2 of last week's episode no. 308 (you can listen to part 1 right here) where I walk you through 8 more ideas for generating revenue with your Art. Everything I'm listing in this episode and the one last week are all proven ways I've generated revenue in Creative Thursday over the past 16 years. It's a well-known fact that for a business owner to have peace of mind, you want to have multiple revenue streams, some more passive than active, and what I'm emphasizing today is to have recurring revenue built into (at least 1, if not more) of those streams too. I've been talking about my friend and business coach Stu McLaren's workshop over the last couple of weeks. If you're seriously considering starting your own membership, product or knowledge focused, and you're reading this TODAY! The whole premise of the In No Hurry Podcast is to engage in conversations that intersect faith and creativity. This week not only do I get to speak with an author and artist, but the focus of our conversation is about creativity and tapping into the natural artistic gifts God has given us and wants us to share with the world. The word "artist" is often an enigma, the definition of which might change for different people. Some people might actually be an artist but not consider themselves one based on their interpretation of the word. My guest this week is Matt Tommey, someone who, in my opinion, embodies the word "artist" perfectly. He's written several books, including the recently released "God's Plan for Living: A Simple Roadmap to Your IDEAL Kingdom Life." But he also creates art through sculpting and basket weaving, and he even owned an art studio when he lived in Asheville, North Carolina. Now, his focus has shifted some to mentoring, where his goal is to help artists and creatives thrive with the gifts God has given them. Creativity can be a frustrating and lonely endeavor. It can be a beautiful thing when done correctly, or it can be a source of torment when not stewarded well. There are tons of road blocks that inevitably appear in any creative endeavor, but being equipped with skills, strategies and truth about God and creativity can help us overcome that resistance. That's the focus of my conversation with Matt today. That's also the focus of his podcast, The Thriving Christian Artist Podcast, which I recommend you check out. Also be sure to connect with Matt on Instagram @matttommey , Facebook at Matt Tommey Mentoring and at matttommeymentoring.com. Thanks for listening! Find show notes here. What if the decision you've been putting off could actually open up possibilities for your life and your dream that you haven't even considered? Carol Willis launches into this conversation with a reminder of the changing nature of our dreams over time and life transitions. There's a palpable tension between taking tangible steps towards a dream and the reality that our dreams will always be a work in progress. Following the death of her husband several years ago, it seemed prudent for Carol to maintain the security of full-time employment (and the benefits to go with it) rather than stepping out on her own to pursue a dream career. However, Carol has found her way to that dream and she's here today to share a few strands of the story about discovering purpose through a self-directed career that feels energizing and is drawing her toward wholeness in who God created her to be. In this episode with Carol Willis, you'll learn about: · How a simple (even unspoken) prayer in faith can transform your circumstances, · Why we can let go of the idea of ever arriving at the finish line, · Holding tension between the demands of young children in one season of motherhood and the gift of time you'll receive once you release them into the world. In today's episode, I'll be discussing how to nurture your child's creativity. Creativity is something that sparks on the inside and Creative genius isn't something that you can teach your child but what you can do is provide the right environment for it to germinate, grow, and to flourish. How you build this foundation for them impacts their connection to their body, to their thinking, and their inner self.Yesterday, on our website, I shared a Waldorf inspired birthday story that I wrote. In the story the little child who is journeying to the earth receives gifts from the sun, moon, and stars before crossing over the rainbow bridge to be born on the earth. The gifts received before birth are seeds that are planted in us to connect us with our creative genius - our purpose. This is where the creative genius of each child lies and to be able to recognize and connect to these gifts, once here on earth, is what you can help nurture in your child. Click here for the story

In the Church at large, creativity isn't really seen as a major tool. "In the beginning, God created..." (Genesis 1). Yet when it comes to helping to bring unbelievers to Christ or feeding God's children, creativity is largely absent. As a result, for those of us who are highly creative, we can often feel as if our creativity doesn't have a place. But what if I told you that your creative gift - whatever it may be - is super vital to the Kingdom? What if I told you that perhaps God has imbued you with creativity for such a time as this? Growing up in Chicago, we celebrated a holiday called Sweetest Day, when the women would purchase the man in their life a gift. It's funny because although I would get my sweetie gifts, I still received gifts on this day! I believe this holiday is only recognized in the Midwest, but to this day, I still keep up with it when it rolls around. In honor of Sweetest Day 2020, although I don't have a sweetie, I wanted to give my ladies and gentlemen out there with men in their life some of my creative gift ideas that either don't cost money or not a lot of money to celebrate your sweetie just because! Sculptor and painter Véronique Anne Chabrolle, a.k.a VeroDalla, was born in Burgundy, France. Her life centered around success in the world of gastronomy until an encounter with a poppy flower changed her existence forever. The poppy called VeroDalla to pursue art. Her experience returning from the brink of death, during childhood, heavily influenced her artistic practice and mission. Her unique work examines what society's social restrictions repress in humans' emotional ability and expression. Her work probes the viewer to question their life when they meet themselves in VeroDalla's figures. Her sculptures awaken the individual and reconnect them with their inner self. VeroDalla plans to continue uncovering the infinite possibilities of human potential by bridging together past and future to create and transmit in multiple dimensions. She is currently working on a large-scale version of the LivenluLu series that made her so popular. Her work lives in public and private collections, featuring clients from more than 30 countries, bringing people together one piece at a time. What if someone suddenly developed the ability to produce high quality paintings of their NDE, a new-found skill that went far beyond the artistic ability they had before? And what if that same person then suddenly acquired the ability to compose classical symphonies after their NDE? And their symphonies were then premiered at sell out orchestral concerts, even though, to this day, they are unable to read or write a single note of musical notation. Wouldn't this be proof that even a cynic would have a hard time explaining? Thank you for listening to the Midnight in the Desert Hour podcast.
