This isn't about trying harder. It's about becoming different. If you're ready to burn it down and build something real, this episode is your blueprint.   Kate Hastings | Mental Health Coach

But Miesha was the World Bantamweight Champion, and she fought Ronda Rousey—probably the most famous female fighter in the sport. I watched one of their fights, and honestly, I don't know how I'd survive even a quarter of a second. But the conversation we had wasn't what I expected. Miesha opened up about the mindset behind championship success, the weight of public expectations, and how depression can still hit even after you've reached the top. We talked about how personal growth sometimes means burning down everything and rebuilding. This wasn't just about fighting—it was about resilience, reinvention, and figuring out what matters when the title belt doesn't solve your problems. It was raw, honest, and eye-opening. I look forward to talking with her again.Episode Description:What happens when you reach the top of your field—and it still doesn't fix what's broken inside?Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate shares the brutal truth about chasing success, surviving toxic relationships, and rebuilding her life from rock bottom. I was this hippie chick.” - 00:01:58“The shame as women, like what we have to do to get drugs or alcohol, mine wasn't really alcohol towards the end, but drugs to get money, the things, whether it was selling your body or whether it was just being with people you didn't want to, just so you can have drugs." 00:18:03“Just because we were robbing, cheating, stealing, whatever, for our drug addiction doesn't mean we're bad human beings. ” 00:43:27

Send us a textWhat if getting hit by a car could be the best thing that ever happened to you? For Jason Yarusi, this seemingly catastrophic moment became the catalyst that transformed his life from angry, unfulfilled NYC bartender to multimillion-dollar real estate investor and mentor. In this riveting conversation with Grant McGaugh, Jason reveals how rock bottom became his foundation for extraordinary success. Born and raised in New Jersey, Jason found himself working dead-end jobs in Manhattan, blaming everyone but himself for his circumstances. Then came the night that changed everything – flying through the air after being struck by a vehicle, his first thought in the hospital was getting back to the job he hated to make rent. This jarring realization forced him to confront a powerful question: would he continue accepting chaos and complaining, or finally take control of his destiny?Jason walks us through his remarkable journey from small, intentional changes to massive transformation. From owning bars and restaurants to helping scale his family's construction business after Hurricane Sandy, he continually bumped against the same limitation – being "the cog in the wheel" that prevented true freedom. Everything changed when he discovered apartment building investing as a solution to the time-freedom problem, building teams and systems that could operate without his constant presence. The conversation delves deep into the mindset shifts that powered Jason's success: understanding the difference between working IN versus ON your business, learning to let go of perfectionism, surrounding yourself with capable team members, and viewing problems as opportunities rather than obstacles. Now with over 30 real estate transactions totaling more than $300 million, Jason shares how his Live 100 program helps others transform their lives through accountability, self-awareness, and strategic action.Whether you're struggling to break free from limiting circumstances or looking to scale your existing business beyond dependence on your personal time, this episode offers actionable insights on building sustainable success. On this episode, I sit down for an inspiring conversation with Ken Miller, whose story is both moving and full of hope. Ken is an author, speaker, and resilience coach who has faced just about every challenge life can throw at a person. Growing up in foster care and later experiencing a turbulent family life, Ken went from being a promising Ivy League student to living on the streets and spending years behind bars. His journey through addiction and life on the streets is not something he hides. Instead, Ken shares it openly because he believes owning your story is the first step in moving forward.Throughout the episode, Ken talks about how he found his way out of that dark place by getting real with himself. He shares that telling yourself the truth is essential, even when it's painful. Ken also shares how big a role forgiveness played in his healing process. Ken makes it clear that forgiveness isn't just for the people who have hurt you, but also for yourself. We reflect on the idea that everyone's journey is different, and that there's no set timetable for feeling better after hitting rock bottom. Ken reveals that for him, becoming whole again took years, but it started with a little step, including getting outside his pain, finding supportive people to talk to, and learning to quiet the negative self-talk.We also highlight how important it is not to compare your pain or struggles to someone else's. No matter what you've gone through, your feelings are real and valid. Ken's message is simple: you have value and are worthy of a better future. Even if you're carrying a lot of pain or regret, you can begin again, and sometimes helping others or reaching out for support is what helps you most. Ken's book, Becoming Ken, weaves these lessons together, offering hope that, with honesty, a willingness to face the truth, and the courage to keep going, it is possible to transform your life one step at a time.About the Guest:Ken Miller is a powerful speaker, author, and resilience coach who helps people overcome adversity by embracing truth, courage, and self-worth. After battling addiction and hitting rock bottom, Ken rebuilt his life with honesty and purpose—and now shares that hard-won wisdom to inspire others. With a background in nonprofit leadership and a deep commitment to recovery and transformation, Ken speaks from experience, not theory. His story is raw, real, and deeply human, resonating with audiences who are ready to face their own struggles and rise stronger. On stage and behind the mic, Ken delivers more than inspiration—he offers practical tools, mindset shifts, and a path to lasting change. Whether speaking about addiction, authenticity, or the power of resilience, Ken connects with listeners profoundly, reminding them that no matter how far they've fallen, there's always a way forward—starting with the truth. To connect with Ken:Website: www.kenmillerspeaks.com Personal Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ken.miller.10420321 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thekenmillerspeaks/ Personal LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kenmiller84/About the Host: Mardi Winder-Adams is an ICF and BCC Executive and Leadership Coach, Certified Divorce Transition Coach, Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS®) and a Credentialed Distinguished Mediator in Texas. Welcome back to another episode of Man VS Marriage! Is there a path for redemption in this life when you hit rock bottom? This week we have Dr. Jonathan Welton back on the program talking redemption. As a public Figure he was a Leader, Pastor, Theologian, Author, Speaker, and head of a bible academy among other things. Dr. Welton crashed his entire ministry and potentially more importantly his Marriage and fatherhood in 2018. This plummet upended the entire ethos he, his family, and his team had been building and it was in many cases quite traumatic for all parties involved including himself. Where do you find yourself? Maybe you live out of the public spotlight however, what is written above is something you can relate to...WHAT IF there is a road to redemption?WHAT IF.. you can take responsibility for what has happened and by the GRACE of a Good God you can make your way back? YOU CAN! It may not look the same as Dr. Welton's, it might not even look similar to what you envision when you muster the courage to make a comeback. We however have the tangible example that it is POSSIBLE and yes it is possible for you.Dr. Welton endeavored to walk the path of redemption in order that he would right the wrongs to the best of his ability and so he might be the example that by and through God's grace it is possible. SO maybe you are asking, What did this guy do? How did he do all of this? Let's get on into it! There's nothing to it but to do it!
