What sustains a believer when life falls apart? When betrayal, loss, disappointment, and suffering strip away every earthly comfort, where do we turn? Psalm 63 gives us a remarkable glimpse into the heart of David during one of the darkest seasons of his life. Fleeing into the wilderness, pursued by his own son and surrounded by uncertainty, David doesn't simply endure his circumstances—he discovers that God's presence is more satisfying than anything this world could ever offer. In this sermon, we explore what it looks like to hunger for God above all else, to find delight in His steadfast love, and to worship Him even when nothing around us has changed. David's words remind us that the deepest satisfaction isn't found in comfort, success, or changing circumstances, but in knowing and experiencing the living God. Even in the wilderness, God's people can be filled with hope, strengthened by His presence, and anchored by the confidence that His love is better than life itself.Whether you're walking through a season of suffering, longing for a deeper relationship with Christ, or simply desiring a greater appetite for God, Psalm 63 offers a powerful reminder that the Lord is enough. As David lifts his eyes above the wilderness, we're invited to do the same—trusting that one day every trial will end, every wrong will be made right, and God's people will forever rejoice in His presence and His unfailing love.Key Points: 1. David's Desire 2. David's Delight 3. David's Devotion 4. David's Dependence 5. David's Destiny

Episode SummaryIn this episode, Dr. Candida Fink and special educator Jo-Ann Berry dive into the nuances of supporting students with ADHD in the classroom. Moving beyond repetitive "pay attention" reminders, they explore the "curious approach" to prompting—asking students if they are stuck or simply thinking. The conversation covers practical classroom strategies for high schoolers, the importance of student autonomy, and how simple adjustments like doodling or movement breaks can transform a student's ability to engage with challenging or tedious tasks.Key Points & HighlightsThe Power of Curiosity: Replacing standard redirections with curious questions (e.g., "Are you thinking or are you stuck?") helps students re-engage without feeling singled out or shamed. The "Neuro-Spicy" Classroom: Strategies like doodling, fidgets, and varied seating (wobbly stools, yoga balls, or spin chairs) are essential tools that help ADHD brains "reset" their attentional systems.Autonomy in High School: Giving older students the choice to opt-out or delay a task often leads to better engagement, as it shifts the dynamic from compliance to personal responsibility.Functional Writing Skills: For 11th and 12th graders, the focus shifts from academic perfection to functional communication, such as emailing a doctor or writing a job application. The Flaw in IEP Goals: Jo-Ann critiques the common IEP phrasing "the student needs to..." and argues that goals should reflect what the educator wants to see, rather than placing the "need" solely on the student.Takeaways & Practical TipsFor Teachers: Use neutral "check-ins" like "Are you with me?" rather than demanding eye contact. If a student is looking away, they may still be listening. For Students: Identify which sensory "muscle" helps you focus—whether it's a specific fidget, standing up for a minute, or taking a strategic "mental break" by looking out the window.Movement as a Tool: Understand that movement helps "wire" the brain to focus. Even a brief walk to the restroom can serve as a necessary cognitive reset.Writing Prompts: Use low-stakes, non-daily writing prompts to build the "writing muscle" without the pressure of a major grade.Resources MentionedRoss Greene's Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) Model: Referenced for its "What's up?" approach to problem-solving.Classroom Tools: Wobbly stools, yoga balls, spin chairs, and fidget bins.Digital Tools: iPads/Tablets for doodling during lessons or, even better, paper and pencil.Connect With UsWe want to hear from you! After his sin is exposed, David doesn't try to excuse himself or minimize his guilt - he runs to the mercy of God. In Psalm 51, we see the prayer of a broken man who knows that forgiveness alone isn't enough. He longs for a clean heart, renewed joy, the nearness of God's presence, and a life that once again reflects the glory of the One he has sinned against. This sermon explores David's journey from conviction to restoration and reminds us that true joy is never found in sin, but in fellowship with God. It also reveals what God has always desired most - not outward religion, but a humble, broken, and contrite heart that depends completely on Him. Through the greater Son of David, Jesus Christ, the mercy David pleaded for is fully and freely offered to all who come in repentance and faith.Key Points:1. David Recognizes His Need2. David Thirsts for God's Presence3. David Understands the Source of All True Joy4. David Commits to Living Wholly and Solely for God5. David Grasps What God Is Really After
Have you ever felt too tired, too distracted, or simply too self-conscious to truly engage in worship? In this powerful message from our summer series, "Is This Thing On?", Robbie dives into why praising God isn't just a passive activity or an optional suggestion—it's a direct command and a spiritual weapon. Using relatable stories from his own life, Robbie reveals how praising God shifts our focus away from our giant-sized problems and up toward our faithful Creator. Whether you're standing on the front lines of a personal battle or you're simply "not in the mood," discover how turning your gaze upward and raising a hallelujah changes everything.Key Points & Scripture ReferencesPraise is a Command, Not an Option: The Bible repeatedly commands us to praise God, regardless of our present circumstances, feelings, or musical abilities (Psalm 150, Psalm 100, Psalm 47, Ephesians 5, Colossians 3, 1 Peter 2:9).Praise Creates Space for God: When we actively praise, we create an honored space for God. He inhabits the praises of His people, making Himself more real to us than our problems (Psalm 22:3).Praise is a Weapon in Battle: Just like King Jehoshaphat sent worshippers to the front lines, our praise acts as an act of defiance against the enemy, claiming victory and deliverance before the fight is even over (2 Chronicles 20, Exodus 15, 2 Samuel 22).Overcoming Internal Obstacles: We must intentionally break through the internal walls that hold us back from worship: not being in the mood, insecurity about our singing voice, personal preferences about musical style, and the pride of being embarrassed.Giving Yourself a Pep Talk: Sometimes, you have to talk to your own soul and command it to remember God's goodness, just like David did when he needed to realign his heart (Psalm 103).Conclusion & Call to ActionDon't let your current circumstances or internal insecurities dictate your worship today. Choose to raise a hallelujah louder than your unbelief, and watch how God moves when you give Him the praise He deserves! Key Points 1. Deacon is an office built upon the Gospel principle of serving one another in Christ: Flowing from commands such as "love your neighbor as yourself," God established deacons to embody and organize servant-love within the church. • Deacons are men of good reputation according to biblical qualifications: The church should observe evident, Spirit-empowered character; all Christians should emulate these traits. • Deacons aid the spiritual ministry of the church by their more temporal responsibilities: Practical service undergirds preaching, prayer, unity, and mission; temporal work serves eternal ends.

FAN MAIL--We would love YOUR feedback--Send us a Text MessageSomething snapped in American life and it didn't start yesterday. We rewind to a question so many of us have asked at kitchen tables, over beers, and at our kids' games: what happened to our country? Then we walk back through three books that, taken together, offer one diagnosis: America is in the middle of a cultural revolution, and the battleground is institutions, education, and the stories we tell about ourselves. We connect Kevin Slack's “long march through the institutions” to the practical mechanisms of cultural power: schools, bureaucracy, regulatory agencies, and the quiet rewriting of norms that later becomes policy. We bring in Mark Levin's argument about the Democratic Party's historical arc and a modern authoritarian playbook that aims to cripple opposition without openly destroying it. And we use Chris Rufo's work to link ideas to institutions, tracing how revolutionary academic theories become the default language of elite credentialing, even when similar experiments have failed elsewhere. From there, we lay out the broader timeline: 1972 as a hinge point, the fading of Cold War era center left patriotism, the rise of activist incentives, the jump in organizing power in the mid 2000s, Obama era acceleration, Bernie Sanders making democratic socialism culturally “respectable,” and the Democratic Socialists of America building durable local infrastructure. We end with the most important point: this outcome is not inevitable. If you care about civic education, American history, constitutional government, and raising kids who can tell truth from propaganda, this is a roadmap for how we got here and how to fight back without despair.Key Points from the Episode: • Slack's “long march through the institutions” and how cultural change precedes political change • Levin's historical case for a modern appetite for control and the warning signs of soft authoritarian tactics • Rufo's link between academic theories and real institutional power, especially in schools of education • 1972 as the hinge point and the slow incentives driven shift inside the Democratic coalition • The pathway from Obama to Sanders to DSA as infrastructure, money, and local wins • Why the outcome is not inevitable and how truth, history, and classical education push back • The fight showing up at kitchen tables, schools, workplaces, and youth sports sidelines We are building and have built out a whole library of book briefs, just one pager's five-minute read over at the Mojo Book Academy on Substack, mojoacademy.substack.com. Keep fighting the good fight!Resources for this episode:Kevin Slack, professor of politics at Hillsdale College, and his book The War on the American Republic. In this episode, I'm walking you through a conversation I've been having again and again with women who are sliding into my DMs, listening to this podcast, and quietly wondering why their revenue keeps hovering in the same place month after month. Scaling your business from 8K months to 30K months isn't about working harder or posting more, it's about making the right shifts at the right time. And today, I'm showing you exactly what those shifts are, using the same process I walk my clients through inside the Revenue Accelerator. I share the story of a client who was stuck at 9K months for over a year, constantly launching, trying new pricing structures, and creating content daily, until we focused on three simple things and got her to her first 30K month in 90 days. We break down what positioning actually is, how laser-focused messaging changes the caliber of buyer coming to you, and why relying on random referrals or inconsistent launches will keep you locked in the feast-or-famine cycle. If you've been feeling like sales are happening to you rather than for you, this episode is your permission slip to stop playing small and start building the predictable, repeatable revenue you deserve. And like, explain who you are and what you do and what you offer. That means that there's a lot of confusion in your messaging right now. And if you confuse them, you will lose them.” - Julie Solomon “ Let's just talk about the shifts that can take place when you focus on these three keys, positioning, messaging, sales strategy. And first I want to get clear on like, what is positioning? So essentially positioning is how your ideal client perceives your offer and your authority and your ability to give them the transformation that they want. So messaging plays a big part in positioning because that's how we articulate that, but messaging is really the big perception piece.” - Julie Solomon RESOURCES: [UNSCRIPTED RETREAT 2027] Where your voice, your message, and your identity become one. Psalm 51 records one of the darkest seasons in David's life, yet it also reveals the immeasurable mercy of God toward broken sinners. After attempting to silence his conscience and conceal his sin, David experienced the misery that always follows unrepentance. His story serves as both a warning and an invitation: a warning against hardening our hearts, and an invitation to find cleansing through genuine repentance.A calloused conscience doesn't happen overnight. It is formed one compromise, one excuse, and one act of disobedience at a time. In this message, we examine how sin hardens the heart, why a violated conscience brings misery, and why God's conviction is one of the greatest evidences of His grace.Key Points: 1. What is the conscience? 2. The curse of a calloused conscience 3. The fruit of a calloused conscience 4. The hope for a pricked conscienceDrawing from Psalm 51 and Psalm 32, this sermon explores the devastating progression of sin, the spiritual and emotional misery of a violated conscience, and the gracious work of God in bringing sinners to repentance. David's life reminds us that concealed sin never brings peace, but confession and repentance lead to forgiveness, cleansing, and restored fellowship with God.Whether you are struggling with guilt, battling hidden sin, or seeking to better understand the biblical role of the conscience, this message points to the only true hope for a wounded soul: the mercy of God through Jesus Christ, whose blood cleanses the conscience and makes sinners white as snow.

In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on a real coaching session from inside The Growth Collective, where I work with brilliant women every month on refining the exact messaging shifts that lead to more sales. You'll get a front-row seat as I coach three powerhouse business owners through their current content and messaging challenges—from an email marketing consultant who just had three years-long lurkers turn into paying clients, to a Pilates studio owner navigating the move from in-person to online membership, to a high-level intimacy coach who works with CEOs and YPO leaders but feels like a "well-kept secret" online. We dig into the difference between visibility and conversion, why content is the car and messaging is the gas, and how the "so, but" transitions inside my Momentum Messaging Framework can transform a flat post into one that moves people toward a buying decision. We talk about giving yourself permission to go all in on one platform that actually feels aligned (instead of being everywhere), how to extract content from the work you're already doing with clients, and why the issue is almost never the platform—it's the messaging. If you've ever wondered what it actually looks like to be coached on your content in real time, this episode is your seat at the table. Liked this episode? How do we navigate the "mixed bag" of prophecy today? In this message from the Is This Thing On? series, Pastor Travis Aicklen addresses one of the most misunderstood and sometimes misused gifts of the Spirit: prophecy. Travis candidly acknowledges the awkwardness and skepticism many feel toward the prophetic, often born from seeing the gift abused or used to manipulate others. However, he challenges us not to let past negative experiences or "fuzzy details" cause us to reject a genuine and powerful gift from God. By comparing two biblical examples of prophecy, Travis provides a framework for understanding how God speaks, how to test what we hear, and how to embrace the prophetic to build up the church.Key Points & Scripture ReferencesThe Reality of the "Mixed Bag": The church in Corinth was a messy place, and their use of spiritual gifts reflected that. Prophecy, like any gift given to flawed humans, can be misunderstood or misapplied. Just because a gift is sometimes abused doesn't mean it isn't real or valuable. We are called to "earnestly desire spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy" (1 Corinthians 14:1).Two Kinds of Prophets: Travis contrasts the prophet Agabus, who accurately foretold a famine and Paul's future imprisonment, with false prophets who use their "gift" for personal gain or manipulation. Agabus demonstrates that true prophecy is a humble, specific revelation from God, meant to prepare and strengthen the church. The Components of Prophecy: A prophetic word consists of three parts: Revelation (what God shows you), Interpretation (what you think it means), and Application (what you should do about it). The revelation is from God, but the interpretation and application are human processes, which is why prophecy must always be tested against Scripture and the wisdom of the community. The Purpose is Edification: According to 1 Corinthians 14:3, the primary purpose of prophecy is not to tell the future or reveal secrets, but to bring "upbuilding and encouragement and consolation" to the church. The one who prophesies "builds up the church". If a "word from God" tears down or manipulates, it is not true prophecy.Embracing the Mystery: We don't have to understand everything about the prophetic to participate in it. Travis encourages us to be open to how God might speak through dreams, pictures, or "props" (like Agabus taking Paul's belt), and to humbly share those impressions with one another.Call to ActionHave you completely closed yourself off to the idea that God might speak to you, or through you, to encourage someone else? This week, ask God to give you an "Agabus moment"—a specific, encouraging word for a friend, a coworker, or a family member. It doesn't have to be dramatic; it could be as simple as, "I feel like God wants you to know..." As we step out in faith, even with "fuzzy details," God can use our tentative words to build up His church. Let's not let the misuse of a gift prevent us from experiencing its true power.Join us Sundays at 8:30am or 10:30am. Find out more at RadiantVisalia.com. In this episode, I'm sharing a powerful conversation I had with Samantha Daily, host of the Make Shift Happen podcast and a brilliant voice for women building intentional online businesses. We get into the hard truth that so many online entrepreneurs are facing right now: showing up, posting, pouring effort into your content, and still not converting. Why? Because your messaging and positioning, not your content or your visibility, is what sells. I walk Samantha and her audience through my Momentum Messaging Framework, the exact strategy that helped me scale to over a million dollars in less than a year. We unpack why constantly reinventing your content strategy might be doing more harm than good, the difference between pleasure content and power content (and why most women only create the first), how to know if your messaging is actually working, and why posting less might be the move that finally gets your ideal client to pay attention and buy. I also share the leadership maturity required to scale, the compounded growth that took me from $250K to $1.3M in nine months, and the question I ask every new client: if I dropped 100 paying clients into your world today, could you actually hold them? If you've ever felt like you're screaming into the social media void or exhausted from over-delivering without the sales to match, this episode is your breath of fresh air. Liked this episode? What if the way we talk about periods shapes how our daughters feel about themselves for the rest of their lives? For generations, menstruation was treated as awkward, embarrassing, or simply ignored. In this conversation, Kylie sits down with holistic educator and author Kate Andrews to explore how honest conversations about puberty, periods and changing bodies can help girls grow up feeling informed, empowered and connected to themselves. They discuss why period education matters, how parents can become a trusted source of information, and the powerful role of community in helping young people navigate life's biggest transitions. KEY POINTS:• Why period education is about far more than biology• The lifelong impact of shame and secrecy around menstruation• Helping girls understand the emotional and physical changes of puberty• Why parents need to become the trusted source before children look elsewhere• The importance of rites of passage and community support• How honest conversations strengthen relationships with our kids QUOTE OF THE EPISODE:"We should be made to feel empowered by our periods, not taught to ignore them." RESOURCES: Body Wise: A Puberty and Period Guidebook by Kate Andrews Wild Creative Australia Untangled by Lisa Damour A Girl's Guide to Puberty by Michelle Mitchell Pippin Girl - fantastic period-related resources for girls, created by Emma Tabacaru ACTION STEPS FOR PARENTS: Start age-appropriate conversations about puberty earlier than you think you need to. Speak openly and honestly about body changes and emotions. Create opportunities for your child to ask awkward questions without embarrassment. Help your child build a trusted circle of adults beyond just mum and dad. Remind your children that change is normal and they don't have to navigate it alone. FAN MAIL--We would love YOUR feedback--Send us a Text MessageAmerica just hit a milestone that should make all of us pause: 250 years of self-government. We're not doing a victory lap or a doom spiral. We're making a case. Do the principles that built the United States still hold up, and if they do, why does it feel like we're struggling to live them?We walk through three “nuggets” that tie the whole America 250 series together, drawing on Brett Baier's The Case for America along with the bigger story of American history. First, liberty isn't a one-time event. It's something every generation has to choose, protect, and pass down, not only on battlefields but in the way we disagree with each other. Lincoln's call for charity toward all becomes a practical standard: dissent is part of freedom, but fracture is something else, and we have to learn the difference again.Next, we dig into the American economic miracle as a blueprint, not a fluke: freedom that rewards invention, backed by limited government, produces prosperity because ordinary people are empowered to build and try and fail and try again. Finally, we talk about providence and why acknowledging it should shape our posture with humility and gratitude, especially if we believe rights come from God rather than government. We close with the uncomfortable diagnosis: you can't defend what you don't understand, and civic literacy has eroded. If we want another 250 years, we need civics education and a renewed pursuit of virtue. Listen, share with a friend, and leave a review, then tell us what should change first: how we teach civics or how we practice virtue?Key Points from the Episode:• liberty as a generational choice that must be defended • dissent as evidence of freedom rather than national fracture • the American economic miracle as a repeatable blueprint • freedom, invention, and limited government as the core formula • rights coming from God rather than the state • providence as gratitude and humility rather than swagger • civic literacy as a shared practice that has eroded • virtue as the glue that makes self-government easier in daily life Be sure to like and subscribe, and check out our substack where we go in depth on more of these topics. Student athlete mental health is shaped by competition, identity, and the pressures that come with striving to perform at a high level.2. Mental toughness means asking for help, embracing vulnerability, and learning from setbacks.3. Coaches, educators, and families can strengthen student wellbeing by seeing athletes as whole people and creating safe spaces for honest conversations.
What compels someone to spend their life making Christ known? In this message, we examine the heart of the Apostle Paul and the biblical principles that shaped his ministry. Beginning with Paul's deep burden for the lost in Romans 9, we then walk through key passages in 2 Corinthians to discover the convictions that fueled his faithfulness.Whether you serve in ministry or simply desire to live more intentionally for Christ, this sermon offers a clear biblical vision for living on mission—remaining faithful to God's Word, keeping the glory of the gospel at the center, proclaiming Christ above ourselves, walking by faith rather than feelings, and living in a way that removes obstacles to the gospel.Key Points: 1. Do not peddle the Word of God. 2. Never lose sight of the glory of the message. 3. Proclaim Christ and leave the results in His hands. 4. Walk by faith, not by "feel." 5. Determine to put no obstacle in anyone's way.
Are you telling the story of what God has done in your life? In this installment of the Is This Thing On? series, guest speaker David Jansson tackles "The Power of Testimony." We often shy away from sharing our stories because they don't seem "dramatic" enough—maybe we didn't have a radical conversion from a life of extreme sin. But David reminds us that the power of a testimony lies not in its drama, but in its truth. Your story, no matter how "ordinary" it may seem, is living proof of God's grace and an essential tool for building up the church.Key Points & Scripture ReferencesThe Command to Tell: Throughout Scripture, from the Old Testament (Deuteronomy 6) to the New (1 John 1), God's people are commanded to tell the stories of His faithfulness. A testimony is simply declaring what we have seen and heard God do.Doctrine and Story Must Align: We need both the map (theology/doctrine) and the stories (testimony). Theology provides the structure, but personal stories provide the lived reality of God's character. They validate and reinforce each other. The Danger of the "Social Imaginary": We live in a culture that tells us a different story—one where God is irrelevant and human reason is supreme. If we aren't actively telling the true story of God's work, the world's false narratives will quickly fill the void.Your Story Matters: You don't need a dramatic "before and after" to have a testimony. If God has given you peace, answered a prayer, or guided you through a difficult season, that is a testimony. Don't withhold your story; it's a vital part of God's work in the world.Overcoming the Hindrances: Pride and fear often keep us silent. We might fear rejection or simply think our story isn't "good enough." David challenges us to cultivate humility, recognize that we are all completely dependent on God's grace, and boldly share our experiences.Call to ActionThis week, intentionally reflect on your own story. What is one specific way God has been faithful to you? It might be a recent answered prayer or a lesson learned years ago. Once you have it, share it. Tell your spouse, your children, or a friend. Don't let your testimony remain unspoken; use your words to build faith and declare God's goodness to those around you.Join us Sundays at 8:30am or 10:30am. Find out more at RadiantVisalia.com. FAN MAIL--We would love YOUR feedback--Send us a Text MessageWhere do your rights come from, and what happens to a country when it gets that answer wrong? We tackle the most radical political claim baked into the American founding: unalienable rights don't come from the state, they come from God, and government exists to protect what you already have. That single idea flips the usual power equation and draws a hard line around conscience, belief, and the limits of political authority. We lean on Michael Medved's book The American Miracle to explore why the founders talked about Providence and why Medved insists key moments in the Revolutionary era feel like more than coincidence. From fog and storms to the timing of alliances, we weigh “luck” against “Providence” and land on a surprising takeaway: taking American exceptionalism seriously should produce humility and gratitude, not swagger or xenophobia. Then we connect the dots to religious liberty and why it functions as the engine of every other freedom. We talk through the First Amendment tradition, the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom, and the core principle that God created the mind free, so no ruler has rightful authority to coerce belief or punish dissent. We also look at how free conscience fuels reform movements, from abolition to civil rights, and why Tocqueville thought America's blend of Christianity and liberty helped explain why the system worked.Key Points from the Episode:• the core question of rights and their source • the founders' radical claim that government protects rights rather than grants them • Michael Medved's The American Miracle and the case for Providence over luck • why acknowledging providence points to humility and gratitude rather than arrogance • religious liberty as the driver of abolition and civil rights reform • Tocqueville on Christianity and liberty in the American mind • the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom and the First Amendment limits on government coercion • why state power over conscience corrupts faith and breeds hypocrisy Be sure to check out our show page at teammojoacademy.com, where we have everything we discussed in this podcast as well as other great resources. if you like books

In this episode, I'm dropping into something tangible, and hopefully a little disruptive, about how you are showing up, messaging, and the energy behind the words you're using to call in your ideal client. If you've ever felt like you're saying all the right things, posting with intention, showing up with consistency, and your best clients are watching but not buying, this episode is for you. Your message isn't wrong, your client isn't broken, and you are not invisible. This isn't a visibility problem, it's a resonance problem. I'm walking you through the three things elevated buyers in 2026 are actually responding to: identity buying triggers, resonance-first messaging, and identity mirroring instead of result hyping. I share my own story of when my engagement felt flat and the people in my comments weren't the same people on my checkout page, and the exact shift that changed everything. We break down the difference between pain point marketing, result-driven marketing, and identity-based marketing—plus a side-by-side messaging example that will instantly show you why your dream clients aren't moving yet, and exactly how to refine your words so they do. Are your words rushing ahead of your wisdom? In week two of our Is This Thing On? series, Pastor Danny Cantelmi tackles the critical counterpart to the power of speaking blessing: the discipline of how we listen. Drawing on the ancient wisdom of James, Danny challenges our fast-paced, quick-to-respond culture by examining what it truly means to be "quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger." This message is a vital gut-check for our relationships, marriages, and daily interactions, revealing how uncontrolled words and the subtle poison of pride can undermine the very lives we're trying to build.Key Points & Scripture ReferencesThe Weight of Our Words: Building on last week's message, we have the immense responsibility and invitation to participate in God's harvest by using our words to bless and build up others. Our words are not passive; they have exponential, active power. The Discipline of Listening: James 1:19-20 urges believers to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. True listening is an active, engaged posture—not a passive waiting for your turn to talk or a defensive stance.Pride vs. Humility: Being quick to listen cultivates humility, which invites God's grace into our lives (James 4:6). Conversely, pride—whether in the form of arrogance ("I'm better than you") or isolation ("I don't need you")—is the enemy of authentic listening and relationship. The Danger of the Quick Reply: In a world of instant communication, our uncontrolled speech often leads to uncontrolled anger. A failure to listen deeply can result in misrepresentation, hurt feelings, and relational breakdown (Proverbs 13:10, 17:27).The Ultimate Listener: Jesus modeled perfect humility by submitting to the Father, even to the point of death on a cross (Philippians 2:6-13). When we struggle with pride or uncontrolled speech, we look to Christ, who empowers us to walk in humility and grace.Call to ActionHow are you doing with the "quick to listen" command? This week, take a moment to ask a trusted friend or spouse for an honest assessment of your listening skills. Practice the discipline of slowing down your responses, avoiding defensive "quick replies," and intentionally validating the feelings of those around you. If you realize your words have caused damage, don't wait—take the humble step of apologizing and seeking reconciliation today.Join us Sundays at 8:30am or 10:30am. One moment he was riding his bike. The next, he was unconscious on the side of the road with no memory of what had happened. This week on I'll Do Better Tomorrow, Justin shares the terrifying cycling accident that left him with a severe concussion, stitches, black eyes, and a completely missing memory of the crash itself. As the family prepares for their daughter's wedding day, the experience becomes a powerful reminder that life can change in an instant — and that the people we love need to know exactly how much they matter. It's a deeply personal conversation about mortality, gratitude, family, and the moments we so often assume we'll get again tomorrow. KEY POINTS:• Justin's near-fatal cycling accident and the frightening reality of memory loss after concussion.• The technology that helped Kylie locate him quickly after the crash.• Why families should always know where loved ones are and how to contact them.• The importance of treating ordinary moments as if they might be the last.• Navigating the emotional complexity of celebrating a wedding while processing trauma.• What parents learn when another child leaves home and starts a new chapter. QUOTE OF THE EPISODE:"Treat this moment like it might be the last time — the last hug, the last meal, the last ordinary day together." RESOURCES MENTIONED:• Garmin incident detection and emergency notifications.• The "Last Time Meditation" concept.• Happy Families podcast episodes on presence and family connection. ACTION STEPS FOR PARENTS: Make sure your family knows where you're going and how to reach you in an emergency. Review emergency contacts and safety features on your devices. Be fully present during everyday family moments this week. Tell the people you love that you love them — explicitly and often. Spend time reflecting on what matters most and whether your priorities align with it. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this episode, I'm sharing a soul-and-strategy conversation I had with the powerhouse Stefanie Gass, on her podcast God-Led Business. Stefanie is a leading voice for faith-led entrepreneurs and visibility strategy. We get into the early days of my business, the hard-won clarity that led me to my first million-dollar year, and the moment I finally stopped trying to be a lifestyle blogger and just allowed myself to be "Julie Publicist." I share my exact definition of messaging versus content, why your content isn't converting (hint: it's not a content problem), and the specific shift my client made that turned one post into $15,000 in sales. We unpack the difference between messaging as the foundation and content as the tactical execution, why niching down has nothing to do with content pillars, and the visibility truth I learned from my years in PR: opportunity doesn't fall from the sky—you have to put yourself in the path of it. If you've ever felt too late, too unqualified, or like your genius isn't being seen, this episode is your encouragement and your permission slip. Liked this episode? Part 2 of the Woman of Influence Table Talk is here, and the conversation only gets deeper. I'm back at the table with Amy Porterfield, Stacy Tuschl, Leanne Lopez Mosley, Adley Kinsman, and Ashley Brock for a raw, unfiltered look at what it actually takes to build sustainable wealth and lead with integrity in 2026. We unpack the difference between a true pivot and an earned evolution, why every billionaire is chasing boring money, and how the entrepreneurs who win are the ones who stay the course, fall in love with the same offer twice, and stop chasing variety in their business. We get vulnerable about the magical numbers each of us once chased—and what actually happened when we hit them. Leanne shares the loneliness of being suicidal during her first million-dollar month, Amy reveals what she sacrificed to hit $20 million, Ashley unpacks how she got over the guilt of profit, and Adley reminds us that money is just a tool for the experience you actually want. We close the table talk with each woman sharing her most audacious, illogical, slightly delusional goal for the year ahead—including a major book announcement from yours truly. If you're ready to make decisions that don't make sense to anyone else but you, this episode is your green light. Liked this episode? In a first-ever Woman of Influence Table Talk, I gather five powerhouse women in one room for a no-holds-barred conversation about what it really takes to build, hold, and protect true influence. I'm joined by Amy Porterfield, Stacy Tuschl, Leanne Lopez Mosley, Adley Kinsman, and Ashley Brock five women who have collectively built multi-million dollar businesses, generated billions of views, scaled iconic brands, and earned their elevation by doing the work most women aren't willing to do. We open the conversation with the question every woman in business needs to sit with: when did you first realize you had cultivated real influence, and what did it cost you? This is a raw and grounding conversation about being misunderstood, raising your standard when it's the most inconvenient, the people-pleasing patterns that quietly cap your influence, and why you cannot have any form of real influence and still chase universal approval. We talk about Amy's decision to retire a $60 million program and the public backlash that followed, Stacy's framework of "$100 million CEO" thinking, Adley's concept of Cringe Mountain, Leanne's evolution into Rich Queen and Soft Girl Millions, and Ashley's identity-shifting realization that she was a thought repeater, not a thought leader.
