What does it take for organizations to truly harness the power of AI - not just as a buzzword, but as a transformative force for strategy, culture, and execution? In this episode, Anindya Ghose - Professor at NYU Stern, and one of the world's leading voices at the intersection of AI, economics, and platforms - joins us to explore what it means to adopt AI intentionally and ethically.Anindya presents his “House of AI” framework to cut through the AI hype. This grounded, end-to-end framework helps organizations align their data, models, and ethics for meaningful impact. He also shares his insights on how AI is shifting the nature of management itself - and why the true differentiator in an AI-enabled world will be people, not technology. We go beyond surface-level AI conversations to explore what it really means to embed it within an organization - not just as a tool, but as a force that reshapes how decisions are made, work gets done, and leadership is defined.Anindya is a globally recognized AI advisor who has transformed the journey of over 60 companies worldwide. As the author of Tap and Thrive, he also brings a rare blend of corporate insight and academic depth, helping us break down how AI can elevate both business and human potential. We explore how AI is pushing organizations to rethink core assumptions, what are the cultural and structural implications of AI, how does AI take shape in organizational structure, and why it's important to also see AI as a powerful positive force. This is not an episode to miss, as we explore the tensions around AI and how they can be turned into meaningful opportunities.Key Highlights

A warm welcome once more to the Bishop and Bear.   A fabulous if ultimately unsuccessful Test series for England is behind us, but there is plenty to reflect upon. The IPL stretches out before us. No less than 66 days of, well pretty much the same as last year, but it will be fun.   As we look back to that enthralling Test series in India, we have two guests propping up our bar to cogitate on that and much more besides. Anindya has been busy penning his thoughts on whether or not India saw the death of Bazball as a strategy. If you haven't read “Death of a Strategy? The Curious Case of 'Bazball' in India” then we can heartily recommend it. You can find it here.   We also welcome the late Sagir Parkar. Not “late as in in the late Dentarthurdent”, but apparently detained on his way to the pub by a traffic accident. He picks up the pace of conversation like a pro though.   It's a lively chat I can assure you we answer many questions as we go including:   ·     Was Baz ball battered? ·     England's dilemmas o  One attitude – flexible approach? o  Making way for Brook? o  Duckett' technique (and his dog)? o  Leach – should he stay or should he go? ·     Will the Jazz Whale stay in tune wherever he plays? ·     Jimmy 700 – For a fast bowler a record that will never be beaten? ·     New Zealand against Australia – Is it a mental thing? ·     Fire up the clown car – who wants tickets to the IPL circus?     Whether you agree with any of the answers is of course, entirely up to you, but do get in touch and let us know.     Cheers!   Your Ursine Landlord and Episcopal Barman Learn more about your ad choices. Would you like more followers on social media?More likes?More engagement?YES?Almost everyone wishes they had a larger following on social media. Infact, there are courses in the market on “How to get 300k followers in 30 days.”Sounds tempting, right?Who wouldn't want a larger community? Why not?But the question we really need to ask is, why?Why do we want a larger community? How does it help us or help them? Will it make us better photographers? Will it boom our business? Will it celebritize us in the industry? Will it bring more clients?Truth is, having a large following is very minutely linked to any of these. The celebritize part I would agree with but at the core of being photographers and business owners, social media only solves a certain purpose for us.This week on the podcast we continue our conversation on this hot topic with the power-duo, husband-wife team, Madhushree and Anindya Basu @pikturenama.Previously restaurateurs, now food bloggers, food influencers, food photographer & videographer, cookbook authors, food writers, together the duo runs a creative agency in India. Madhu and Anindya have a stunning social media presence and are driving a successful food blogging and photography business...And in this episode they share how it's been possible inspite of social media changes. We discuss whether algorithm changes impact client work, When do the numbers on social media matter, Mistakes creators make, what it takes to create a robust presence on social media & the absolute needle moving effort that improves skills and brings businessThere is no denying that social media numbers are important but we need to have utmost clarity on how they're working for us and why we should work on them.It is essential to take a step back and look at our clients or our revenue generators to see how much of it is really linked to social media. What would happen if our numbers didn't grow? What would fall apart? This conversation with Madhu & Anindya is an eye opener. They're practical about the  value of social media but at the same time, they've taken steps to build a solid foundation for their business that does not get impacted by algorithm changes. If you've wondered whether it's possible to thrive as a food photographer with a smaller following on social media or creating less content or being less present, this episode is for you.It will tell you exactly where numbers matter and where they don't Follow Dyutima on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/dyutima_myfoodlens/  Read more at https://myfoodlens.comShow notes available at https://myfoodlens.com/74-how-to-create-a-resilient-food-photography-business-unaffected-by-social-media-changes-with-madhushree-anindya-basu-part-2/Download free guide and workbook The 10-step photoshoot https://myfoodlens.com/the-10-step-photoshoot-guide/Write that pitch https://myfoodlens.ck.page/writethatpitch

Welcome back to the Bishop and Bear   Excellent timing to invite Anindya Dutta into the old rub a dub this week. Who better to help us remember one of India's great spin wizards Bishan Bedi, who sadly left us this last week. Anindya knew him well and shares here some of those memories.   After that, what else could we possibly talk about? It's the World Cup of course and England's feeble, some would say non-existent efforts to defend it. Or attack its defence as Jos Buttler no doubt thoroughly regrets having said by now. We dig into some of the reasons we think lie behind England's alarming demise including, age, central contracts, selection, captaincy and well, just about everything! We also look ahead to the clash with Virat Kohli and ten other blokes on Sunday in Lucknow.   How will England approach that? Will the almost certain failure to reach the semis just free them up a bit. Or for England fans will it be hard hats on for another shellacking, all over and done my lunch time on Sunday, in time to head to the pub at least.   Grab yourself a drink at the bar and settle in to enjoy the chat. Instagram has gone through such massive changes in the last year that we food photographers & bloggers are finding it difficult to love it like before. Some creators are thriving. Some have left the platform. Some have distanced themselves. Some return only for the community and conversations. It has impacted almost all of us esp. those who depended on Instagram for collaborations, influencer work, driving traffic to their blog or getting discovered by clients. While we feel robbed of the joy we once felt sharing our work on the platform,  our businesses have also been impacted. It's not easy navigating through this phase of social media. It doesn't really inspire us to share our work on it anymore like before.Tell me you feel so too. This week's podcast is ultra-special because we have not one, but two special guests - husband-wife, Madhushree and Anindya Basu @pikturenama.Previously restaurateurs, now food bloggers, food influencers, food photographer & videographer, cookbook authors, food writers, together the duo runs a creative agency in India. While many creators are struggling in this social media climate, Madhu and Anindya are buzzing with their thriving food blogging and photography business....And in this episode they share how it's been possible inspite of social media changes. We talk about the impact of social media on the creative industry, how to diversify your business, how to promote your business outside of social media, get discovered by clients, a powerful practice to grow your business while staying unaffected by Instagram algorithms etc.As creators, we love connecting back to a community on social media and as business owners, we love how social media gives us access to potential clients and showcases our professional work. There are so many reasons for us to feel frustrated given how it has changed but hearing Madhu & Anindya will not only give hope but also leave you with fresh ideas on how to navigate through this phase. It's time to embrace, adapt and pivot because it is totally possible to still find joy in sharing our work and also have a thriving business in spite of Instagram's mood swings.Read more at https://myfoodlens.com Follow Dyutima on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/dyutima_myfoodlens/Show notes available at https://myfoodlens.com/create-resilient-food-photography-business-unaffected-by-social-media-changes/Download free guide and workbook The 10-step photoshoot https://myfoodlens.com/the-10-step-photoshoot-guide/Write that pitch https://myfoodlens.ck.page/writethatpitch

Conventional wisdom propels the notion that children from low-income backgrounds perform poorly because their families are less invested or do not value education as much as those from higher-income backgrounds. However, by applying a sociological framework to education, the evidence shows that schools, instead of contributing to the breaking of economic and social barriers, are actively widening the achievement gap by furthering inequalities. How do we rethink these challenges and actualize our belief that all students are brimming with the same potential to develop an internal drive and curiosity for learning? Fostering a child's agency means helping them to help themselves in such a way that they can overcome obstacles and create positive changes in their own lives. On this episode, education sociologist, professor of Educational Leadership at Florida International University, and author of “The Power of Student Agency”, Anindya Kundu, Ph.D., discusses how to help educators and stakeholders build practical resources that enhance children's lives while inspiring them to take learning into their own hands. No matter how diverse students' backgrounds may be, all students possess the capacity to leverage resources and master their own Executive Function in order to navigate a world of uncertainty and challenge through a cultivated sense of agency. About Dr. Anindya KunduAnindya Kundu is an acclaimed education sociologist and incoming professor of Educational Leadership at Florida International University. His book, The Power of Student Agency, has been touted as a critical and practical resource for educators and stakeholders in the lives of children. Why do SMEs/Family Businesses/Startups need to perceive brand building as an investment and not an expense ? While brands cannot be built overnight, how can brands become a growth engine for SMEs and startups ? Why SMEs and startups need to look beyond intermediaries and focus on deeply understanding their current customers and their potential customers? Sameer Joshi & Anindya Ghosh, the founding parts and the head & heart of Sam & Andy, address how SMEs and Family Businesses can embrace brand building as a growth engine. Sameer Joshi & Anindya Ghosh enjoy more than 36+ years of cumulative work experience in strategic marketing, brand management, digital solutions & mainline advertising, having worked in some of the top communication agencies in India. Please reach them on Linkedin https://www.linkedin.com/in/sam-and-andy-brand-consultancy-b29649166/ Jagged with Jasravee is facilitated by Jasravee Kaur Chandra, Director- Brand Building, Research & Innovation at Master Sun, Consulting Brand of Adiva L Pvt. Building brands is always seen as an expense and never as an investment amongst certain segments of the business, like SME/MSME/Start-ups, Family-owned businesses, B2B – the age-old debate. Also, there is this somewhat myth that sales will increase immediately if someone builds a brand overnight. These stand truer today post the Covid-era, and that even for the established brands - putting survival as an apparent reason to stop spending when it comes to brand building, marketing and communications. But if brand is developed with solid clarity & focus, it becomes the growth engine. Yes, even in the post Covid-era. One needs to believe in providing clarity to the brand for maximum output. Importantly, this clarity becomes the sole compass while charting out the Go-to-Market strategy for a brand. The segment that Sam & Andy service is good at doing business. They believe that they can't teach them how to do business. They are sales driven and as far as dhandha is happening they are fine. In this bargain, when you ask them what they stand for or what business they are into or who buys them & why or what they sell & what their customers buy, there is no clarity even about single-line definition of their business. Once they get clarity, it becomes easier for them to map the future growth trajectory. The next generation can see-through as why they want to join this business or brand. Every business face challenges, and one has to frame a priority ladder to address the same. No challenges can be solved on a temporary basis or always in fire-fighting mode; one has to plan a long-term “solution” for the same. On their own patch, India are favourites. They have won huge plaudits for pulling off a dramatic series win in Australia and with an injury ravaged team. However, favourites don’t always win and England feel they have better than a puncher’s chance. Whilst India will point to a number of factors in their favour, including the return of some big guns and familiar home conditions, England are a very tough nut to crack anywhere in the world these days and there are reasons for English optimism, not least of which are the 5 consecutive test wins away from home they have just registered for first time in over 100 years. 15 times these two have locked horns in India and the home side have the upper hand, winning 7 series to England’s 5 with 3 drawn. We put two Guerillas together in the virtual ring to exchange verbal blows and predict who is likely to come out on top. Representing India is Anindya Dutta @Cric_Writer, a man who keeps company with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni on Amazon bookshelves. He wrote Wizards: The Story of Indian Spin Bowling. He knows his Indian cricket. Waving the English flag is a man almost old enough to have watched England’s first triumph in India in 1933 @tonybishop1 . Argument and counter argument are traded as Tony meets Anindya’s devilish spin with stoic defence and some neat verbal footwork.  Alas they couldn’t agree on the score. But they did agree it won’t be dull. Watch here to see who you think has it right.

“Diligent research and evocative story telling combine to make this book a truly compelling read”. Praise indeed for ‘Wizards’ and its author Anindya Dutta, from none other than Kapil Dev.   In this episode of Guerillashire, Tony Bishop and Anindya discuss the mystical, twirling, whirling, floating, ripping, gripping world of Indian spin bowling. No other skill has contributed more to India’s cricket – and arguably, spin bowling is what drove its race to the top.   The story of Indian spin bowling goes as far back as the turn of the twentieth century. ‘Wizards’ covers no less than 74 Indian spinners, from Palwankar Baloo, though the genius of Subhash Gupte, Vinoo Mankad and Ghulam Ahmed, through the fabled spin quartet of Bedi, Prasanna, Chandra and Venkat, onto Kumble, Harbhajan and Ashwin and right up to Chahal and Kuldeep. Anindya picks two historical quartets to take on the current England side home and away. Listen to hear who they are – and who doesn’t quite make it. Most importantly let us know your selections!   Thanks to Jeff Perkins for the theme tune and jingles and to Jon Stone for editing and production support.   Get all Guerilla Cricket podcasts BEFORE ANYONE ELSE at patreon.com/guerillacricket!

As the world becomes a messier place, and as the U.S. Great Power Competition with China continues to ramp up, this battle will be fought on many fronts – few if any on an actual battlefield.Instead, these superpowers’ fight for supremacy focuses on different dimensions of power and influence – in particular, areas like business and technology, including the next generation of Artificial Intelligence applications. So who’s winning? Where does China stand – and what should other countries and companies understand to compete and win?To find out, I welcomed back a previous and incredibly interesting guest: Anindya Ghose, the Heinz Riehl Chair Professor of Business at New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business. Anindya is also the author of the important and engaging book, Tap: Unlocking the Mobile Economy, which has now been translated into five languages and was recently named one of the top 100 marketing books of all time. Ghose also was named to the prestigious 2019 Highly Cited Researchers list from the Web of Science Group, which recognizes the world's most influential researchers of the past decade, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in Web of Science.Anindya’s bottom line: While the U.S. may lead in AI research, China leads in AI implementation – they simply are doing more on commercialization and making AI an actionable part of everyday life. What’s driving this advantage? I wondered, of course, if the difference comes down to the government thumb on the scale – that China’s support for targeted industries simply gives their companies an unfair advantage. But the response I got, as you’ll hear, was: Not so fast. From Ghose’s research, the difference is more cultural in terms of consumer uptake. As he told me: “Their tech sector is clearly innovating faster, working harder, and is about 2-3 years ahead of their counterparts in the U.S. and about 5-8 years ahead from the ones in Western Europe and Southeast Asia. There is much to learn from them.”One additional note: We also explored new research Ghose has just published on The Effect of Voice AI on Consumer Purchase and Search Behavior. Given the growth of voice in tech, I promise you’ll want to hear what Anindya and his colleagues found.

Vivi was part of the recent protests that erupted over the last week in Jakarta, as thousands of students and protestors gathered to protest Parliament's decision to pursue the legislation of draconian bills such as RKUHP (Revision of the Penal Code), UU KPK (a bill that will weaken the independent Corruption Eradication Commission), and others. We talk about some of the details of these bills — including the infamous "premarital sex ban" that is part of the RKUHP — and the fears students and protestors have if these bills were passed into law. As the fight to preserve Indonesia's democracy continues, both on the streets and in government buildings, we hope this conversation can be the first of many between all of us in civic society to discuss the future of our nation.

This is Episode 54 of the State of the Theory Podcast. Politics. Power. Popular Culture. And other stuff, probably. In this series, we’re like super nerdy philosophical DJs: mashing up Serious Academic Questions with the most topical news and trends in pop culture. Each week, we’ll tackle a new topic and collide it with ‘critical theory’ (we’re pretty loose with our definitions, though, so expect the unexpected). Our aim is to destroy the stuff we know, explore the stuff we don’t and unsettle everything we think we know about the world. We take the obvious, the commonsensical, the certain, and then we rip it all to shreds. We are your theory doctors and we are always on call. In this episode, we welcome friend of the pod, actor Gordon Houston to talk about spoilers. With the release of Avengers: Endgame and season 8 of Game of Thrones, we wanted to think more about the concept of spoilers – what they mean, why they bother some people like Anindya and Gordon, and why they don’t bother others, like Hannah.

What happens when we tap or swipe on your phone? According to industry estimates: Only some 3 and a half trillion dollars of economic value added – about 4.5% of global GDP. Welcome to the mobile economy. And if you want to understand this massive and growing engine of global economic growth, there is perhaps no better tour guide than Anindya Ghose. Anindya is the Heinz Riehl Chair Professor of Business at New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He is also the author of the important and engaging new book, Tap: Unlocking the Mobile Economy. But after talking with Anindya, if I were to retitle his book, I’d likely make it: The power of a curious mind. Since beginning his studies and research, Anindya has focused relentlessly on the mobile economy – on understanding what he calls “the two-way exchange” that benefits both customers and business. Through research, case studies, and a distinct sense of humanness and humility, Ghose identifies nine forces that shape consumer behavior – time, crowdedness, trajectory, weather, and more – and he examines how they work individually and together. In his own words, Ghose “highlights the true influence mobile wields over shoppers, the behavioral and economic motivations behind that influence, and the lucrative opportunities it represents.”
