“What did you help with today?” and “How did you fail?” These two simple questions—shared by Natasha Beck, also known as Dr. Organic Mommy—are meant for kids, but they apply just as powerfully to adults.Instead of the routine “How was school?” or “How was work?”, these questions reinforce two essential values: caring about community and normalizing failure as part of growth. Helping doesn't have to mean something grand—it can be as simple as supporting a friend or showing up for someone in a small way. And failure, when talked about openly, becomes a teacher rather than something to hide.In this episode, I reflect on how these questions can deepen everyday conversations with partners, friends, and even ourselves through journaling. What we ask shapes what we notice—and these questions gently shift our focus toward contribution, learning, and meaning.

Send us a textThis is the first episode of 2026 — and it sets the tone for everything that comes next.In this solo episode of Kyle Talks, Kyle lays out a simple but ambitious goal for the year ahead: bring back the art of conversation. Not perfect conversations. Not easy conversations. Real conversations.Whether your goal this year is personal growth, rebuilding confidence, learning discipline, or simply connecting better with people around you, this episode is an invitation to step forward — together. In this episode, Kyle reflects on:• Why goals mean nothing without action • How having better conversations is a form of discipline • Why understanding does not require agreement • The role of emotion in disagreement — and how to handle it • When it's healthy to walk away from a conversation • Why casual conversations matter just as much as serious ones • How self-control changes the tone of dialogue • What it means to listen in a culture that rewards shouting • Why Kyle Talks exists — and where it's headed in 2026This episode isn't about being right. It's about being present, curious, and human.Kyle challenges listeners to take responsibility for the conversations they're part of — at home, online, at work, and in the world — and reminds us that changing culture doesn't start with institutions. It starts with people choosing to talk.A question for listeners:What's one conversation you've been avoiding — and what would it look like to approach it with honesty and self-control?The Mission for 2026Kyle Talks is about talking to people again. Agreeing. Disagreeing. Laughing. Listening. Building connection without dehumanization. This year is about showing up imperfectly and continuing anyway. If this episode resonated with you, consider leaving a review or sharing it with someone you'd like to have a better conversation with. Your self-talk is the only voice you hear 24/7 — and most days, it's not that kind.  For many golfers and entrepreneurs, that inner dialogue quietly runs the show: it talks you out of what you know you should be doing, keeps you glued to comfort, and convinces you you're not ready, not worthy, or not capable of the next level. In this episode of The Scratch Golfer's Mindset Podcast, I sit down with mindset coach Trevor Tellin to unpack how your inner voice shapes your identity, your confidence, and your results — on the golf course and in business.  In this episode, you'll learn: Spot the invisible ways your self-talk sabotages your golf game and business. Use a simple "reward scale" to win more debates between the couch and the range. Personify your inner voices so you can work with them instead of being ruled by them. Create space between you and your thoughts so they feel less personal and more workable. Use Interloop to capture real self-talk data from your rounds and turn it into growth. Understand fear of success, over-identifying with "the grind," and how they keep you stuck. Build mental toughness and confidence through repetition, hard things, and self-compassion. Get your pencils ready and start listening.  P.P.S. Curious to learn more about the results my clients are experiencing and what they say about working with me? Read more here. Click here to learn more about how high-performance hypnotherapy and mindset coaching can help you get out of your own way and play to your potential on (and off) the course.  Instagram: @thegolfhypnotherapist  Key Takeaways: Awareness is everything — most self-talk patterns run on autopilot until you finally slow down enough to hear them. Every choice is an exchange; comfort feels good now, but it often carries the hidden cost of slowing or blocking your long-term growth. Scoring your choices helps you override resistance by comparing the real value of short-term comfort vs. long-term reward. Personifying your inner voices creates separation, making it easier to recognize which ones help you and which ones hijack you. Tools like Interloop reveal patterns you'd never notice on your own, giving you tangible data to change your on-course self-talk. Fear of success often drives sabotage — when you get close to the next level, the uncertainty of "what comes with it" pulls you back. Mental toughness and confidence come from repetition, doing hard things, and proving to yourself (again and again) that you can handle discomfort. Key Quotes: "We're so familiar with our inner voice that we don't realize how often it runs the show." "We rationalize sabotage because the excuses sound convincing coming from ourselves." "Every decision is an exchange — you can't get what you want without giving up something." "When you personify a limiting voice, it becomes easier to question and redirect it." "Turning a feeling into a character creates distance, and distance creates choice." "Most people envy the result but not the inputs required to reach it." "Mental toughness is being present in discomfort and choosing to lean in anyway." Today, we're back in the city of London and chatting with lead transformational consultant at OpenCredo, Mr. Simon Copsey. Simon is on a mission to help organizations understand and unwind complex, cross-functional obstacles, enabling happier staff to deliver better software to customers sooner. Simon's career has taken him from being a developer in the trenches to helping various organizations take pragmatic steps from the place of chaos and paralysis to one where it becomes a little easier to see the woods for the trees. Coaching at the organizational level, Simon promotes lasting organizational change, requiring us to find and replace downward spirals with virtuous cycles. However, as Simon says, organizations are complex, and no single person can see everything. Failing to tackle these downward spirals can lead to pains across the organization and, in particular, within IT. Failing projects, increasing costs, and reducing trust within the business, as well as ongoing attrition.  Visit the C4C website to gain full access to the transcript, show notes, and guest links.  Coaching 4 Companies

In this greatest hits episode, we're revisiting one of the most powerful communication tools I teach—one that's both simple and transformative. If you've ever walked away from a conversation feeling misunderstood, reactive, or like your needs weren't truly seen, this episode is for you. It's not just about what you say. It's about the lens you're using to listen. I'm breaking down why the perspective you bring into a conversation—the emotional framing you carry—can change everything. You'll learn how noticing your “lens” helps you shift your energy, change the direction of the dialogue, and respond in ways that bring more clarity, calm, and connection. From the sneaky effects of internalized patriarchy to how we're conditioned to live “leftovers lives,” this episode is packed with both mindset shifts and practical tools you can apply right away. Grab a journal, take a walk, or just listen with curiosity—and let's explore how small shifts in perspective create big changes in communication. ✨ Episode at a Glance Why communication feels so hard (even though we do it every day) What it means to “notice your lens”—and why it matters The connection between your emotions and how you hear your partner A coaching challenge to shift your perspective and improve conversations How internalized patriarchy shapes how we listen, respond, and prioritize our needs An invitation to live a 5-star life instead of a “leftovers life”

It's different than simply not being able to recall something because you have forgotten it. This phenomenon is something people actually study and since it is something that has happened to you, I am sure you will find this fascinating. My guest is Anne Cleary, a professor of psychology at Colorado State University. Her research examines odd memory phenomena like déjà vu and these tip of the tongue experiences. “What I fear is a lot of executives are chasing things that may not really help their workers or help their environment, because they haven't really had that two-way engagement about what healthcare workers need.” -Christopher Friese   In this SEE YOU NOW Insight from Episode 65: Sending Out an S.O.S., national nursing workforce expert and healthcare safety researcher Christopher Friese sounds the alarm: without listening directly to healthcare workers, even well-meaning policies may fall short of making a difference.   Nurses experience rates of burnout, trauma, and suicide that exceed both the general population and even physicians. Yet stigma, fear of licensing consequences, and unsupportive systems too often prevent them from getting the help they need.   Friese shares how the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act is transforming national policy and shifting the conversation around workforce mental health, but he's clear that legislation alone isn't enough.   What's needed, Friese explains, is genuine two-way engagement between leaders and frontline clinicians. To protect and sustain the healthcare workforce, we must remove barriers, reimagine environments, and build cultures of safety, trust, and well-being together.  To listen to this Insight clip's full episode visit SEE YOU NOW Podcast Episode 65: Sending out an S.O.S. at APPLE, SPOTIFY, or YOUTUBE or at your favorite streaming platform. We say the word iconic a lot, but it really does apply to this week's guest Cynthia Nixon!  After starting her career as a child actor, in her early 30s Cynthia took the role of Miranda Hobbs in ‘Sex and The City' and not only did her life change, but the show's conversations around dating and sexuality changed the lives of women across the world. Off screen Cynthia also changed the game when she came out in the early 00s.  As she reprises the role of Miranda in the third season of ‘And Just Like That' - which you can watch exclusively in the UK on SKY and NOW - Cynthia joins me in Paris for a great chat that looks back on her career and her incredible advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community.  We talk about how Cynthia almost lost the role of Miranda, getting with nuns (hey Rosie O'Donnell!), how you can come of age at any time, and the unforgettable chat on the set of ‘Sex and The City' that changed her life.  It's crazy to think when Cynthia came out the only out queer women were her and Ellen, and whilst this episode shows how far we have come with LGBTQIA+ visibility I hope - especially given the world we are living in right now - is shows much further we need to go and how so many of our long fought for rights need protecting this pride month and beyond.  If you love this episode as much as I do, get in touch with me across socials @joshsmithhosts as I always love hearing from you.
