The killing of Charlie Kirk has kicked the forces of political polarization into high gear. But it's worth taking a step back, says Bradley, to consider the degradation of everyday life that gives rise to such tragedies and think about what each one of us can do to ease the chaos. More locally, Bradley also discusses the data that proves that the ban on forced brokers fees is working, the race to replace Congressman Jerry Nadler, and the very un-Christian move by a local church to kick out a longtime soup kitchen. When you think about climate change solutions, your mind might go to renewable energy, electric vehicles, or eating less meat. These are all of course important. But even if we stopped all emissions today, we'd still have too much CO2 in the atmosphere and would need to pull a lot of our emissions out of it. That's the bold mission of Aircapture, a California-based company pioneering modular direct air capture technology. On this episode, I speak with Matt Atwood, Aircapture's founder and CEO, about how his company is not only working to reduce atmospheric CO₂, but also profitably supplying it to industries that rely on the gas today—like beverage makers, greenhouses, and more. Instead of relying on fossil fuel byproducts or ethanol fermentation for their CO₂, companies can now get a cleaner, more reliable, and often cheaper supply directly from the air. Matt explains how Aircapture's approach differs from traditional large-scale carbon capture projects by focusing on on-site, modular units that can be shipped in a container and installed within weeks. These systems already commercially operate in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, giving customers local CO₂ while shrinking supply chain emissions. We dig into the economics of direct air capture, the climate math of whether it truly reduces atmospheric carbon, and the criticisms that it could provide a “moral license” to keep burning fossil fuels. Matt also shares how Aircapture recently raised a $50 million Series A—during a tough climate tech funding market—and what gives investors confidence that their model will scale where others have stumbled. If you've ever wondered whether pulling CO₂ out of thin air is realistic—or just hype—this conversation will give you a fascinating inside look. Discussed in this episode Our past episode with Make Sunsets about sulfur dioxide injections into the atmosphere. We've done other episodes on geoengineering, for example on olivine spreading (Vesta and Eion), sulfur dioxide injections (Make Sunsets), direct carbon capture (Global Thermostat). Al Gore's skepticism about direct air capture. Matt recommends reading Ministry for the Future. Paul recommends Dan Carlin's The End is Always Near. Matt reflects on his earlier work with Algae Systems and why he thinks wastewater treatment improvements are so important. Paul suggests tackling wastewater treatment with Neurospora species, as discussed here, here, here, and elsewhere. Get to Know Matt Atwood Matt is a technologist, chemist, entrepreneur and pioneer in the DAC space. He has over 20 years experience in renewable and climate technology development and over a decade of experience with DAC and CO2 utilization technologies. Matt developed the world's first energy-positive wastewater treatment platform as Founder & CEO of Algae Systems. He has built and commercialized technologies in CO2, water, AgTech, waste treatment, and biofuels.

John Batchelor and his colleague, General Blaine Holt, a United States Air Force retired general, discussed the significance of a military exercise currently underway in Belarus involving Russia and Belarus, known as Zapad. This exercise is taking place near the NATO frontier in Poland, following an incident where drones reportedly crossed the border from Belarus into Poland. General Holt explained that military exercises offer a significant advantage. While exercises are common—with approximately 55 scheduled annually in Europe, often retaining the same names and declared routinely, such as the Zapad exercise in Belarus—they serve more than just a training purpose. General Holt described this dual function as "cocking a gun," where forces achieve a very high state of readiness. Although adversaries are typically informed in advance about these "normal boring exercise[s]," this readiness can then be utilized to launch a real operation. Beyond operational readiness, General Holt highlighted the diplomatic impact of exercises. Calling for an exercise sends a strong signal to an adversary, implying that military options are under consideration and that the situation could escalate to "something much bigger". He stressed that exercises should always act as a "flag in our brains," prompting consideration of whether they are purely for training and readiness or "something else". Overlaying the geopolitical situation onto an exercise provides a "different picture" than simply viewing it as forces preparing for future events. 1791 CATHERINE OF RUSSIA

What if the reason your skin barrier keeps breaking down has nothing to do with your products, and everything to do with the water coming out of your tap?In this episode, Leah Vairo, Chief Brand Officer at FilterBaby, joins us to reveal how chlorine, hard water minerals, and hidden contaminants in your shower or sink accelerate oxidative stress, disrupt the microbiome, and drain your skin's NAD⁺ reserves. We dive deep on how unfiltered water weakens keratinocyte activity, fuels irritation and redness, and speeds up visible aging. even if you're using the best skincare. You'll discover why most shower filters don't actually work, the lab data showing filtered water improves hydration and wound healing. Plus, Leah shares the exact filtration criteria that matter (and which ones are marketing hype), and why filtered water is the foundation for every serum and peptide you apply.Leah Vairo is the Chief Brand Officer at FilterBaby, a company pioneering skin-first water filtration using advanced Japanese ultrafiltration membranes and activated carbon technology. What's Discussed:(00:03) How Tap Water Quality Affects Skin Aging and Barrier Health(08:48) Chlorine, Hard Water & Their Impact on Skin and Hair(25:21) How to Choose the Best Water Filter for Skin and Hair Health(30:38) FilterBaby Founder Story: From Skin Struggles to Water Filtration Innovation(34:44) Holistic Skincare: Water, NAD⁺, Nutrition & Lifestyle Factors(44:19) Benefits of Washing With Filtered Water for Acne, Eczema & Anti-Aging(58:48) Longevity Skincare Foundations: Sleep, Recovery & Barrier RepairFind more from Young Goose:The YouTH Firming Body Cream: Smoother arms, firmer thighs, tighter skin, powered by NAD+ and spermidine. Earle led the yoga philosophy department and taught meditation and yoga, while also studying Tibetan, Sanskrit, business, and a 7-year advanced program in Tibetan Buddhism. #energymedicine #spiritual #meditate About my Guest Earle BirneyEarle grew up an avid sports fan in Vancouver, Canada. With just 4 months left of study before obtaining a degree, he began to realize that a life of following “societal norms” — starting a career, buying a house, getting married, having kids — did not make sense or appeal to him. It felt confining rather than freeing. So instead, he took out a student loan, bought an around-the-world ticket, and went on his personal search for freedom. Fueled by liquid inspiration, Earle ironically ended up in Paremoremo, a maximum security prison in Auckland New Zealand where he remained as a guest for the next 22 months. This is where Earle met the practices of yoga, meditation, and Buddhist philosophy. Earle began studying the Asian Classics Institute program and shortly after returning to Canada, went to help him start the Diamond Mountain University and Retreat Center in the Chiricahua Mountains of Arizona. Earle led the yoga philosophy department and taught meditation and yoga, while also studying Tibetan, Sanskrit, business, and a 7-year advanced program in Tibetan Buddhism. This period of study concluded with a 3 year 3 month 3 day silent meditation retreat.Taking his 27 years of experience, Earle thrives on making the often complicated teachings practical and relatable. Earle uses his expertise in retreat and his capacity to guide people along the stages of meditation, to help them in their spiritual journey.Earle is the head of curriculum development and lead teacher at the Yoga Studies Institute (YSI). YSI reaches over 10,000 students annually, leading students in yoga programs and retreats, meditation teacher trainings, and philosophy workshops. Earle also teaches and leads meditation programs at the Three Jewels Outreach Center in NYC for many students, including beginning meditators, people training to become meditation teachers, and advanced practitioners looking to deepen their practice in retreat. What we Discussed: 00:10 Who is Earle Birney 01:00 His Journey to understand life05:35 4 months from finishing his Degree and quit07:40 The plan was to work and kep travelling08:18 How he got into selling Acid09:30 Getting a warning he should have listened to10:28 The Process of Getting Arrested11:40 His Court Experience14:20 His experience in Prison15:50 How did his Parents react to the situation17:00 After 5 month how was the prison experience18:55 The jobs in the Prison20:30 What was his Mindset when he know he was getting out22:45 Was there any treatment in Prison to help with drug use25:00 The Journey after Prison28:00 7 Years in a Buddist centre29:00 3 Years 3 Months & 3 Day silent retreat29:50 How did they cover costs30:45 Spending 3 years to go inwards for yourself31:45 The Structure of the Retreat33:19 How was his mind in the 1st few days35:25 After the Retreat what was the next part of his journey38:00 Fast for Hunger40:20 Give Dignity to the Homeless41:00 What Meditation do they Teach and his Practice43:30 When People say they can not Meditate46:00 Getting Tired in Meditation49:14 Walking on the beach worked for me Meditating50:48 The Free Resources on his WebsiteHow to Contact Earle Birneywww.yogastudiesinstitute.orghttps://www.instagram.com/samayogastudio/All about Roy / Brain Gym & Virtual Assistants at https://roycoughlan.com/

5/8. As discussed by Professor Eric Cline, the Philistines are definitively identified as part of the Sea Peoples, likely the "Pleset" mentioned by the Egyptians. They settled in five key cities, including Ashdod, Ashkelon, and Gaza. Archaeological and recent DNA evidence from children in Ashkelon shows a mix of local Canaanite and "other" (possibly Aegean/Sardinian/Spanish) ancestry, indicating their descendants were from the original Sea Peoples, confirming their identity and origins. 1ST CE, NAPLES
