Based on the iconic, Emmy-nominated series on A&E, this show explores some of the most difficult-to-solve murders, which stymied investigators and went cold, sometimes for decades. But thanks to dogged investigators and breakthroughs in forensic technology, these cases become part of the rare 1% of cold cases that are ever solved. In this episode, the story of the hunt for one of the most notorious serial killers in recent American history - the BTK killer, who terrorized the Wichita, Kansas, area for years. After committing at least seven brutal murders, BTK (for Bind, Torture, Kill) vanished for over 25 years before sending clues of his crimes to the media in 2004. He continued to avoid capture until a forensic computer expert traced a computer disc that led investigators to a surprising suspect - a church council president.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

As a Director of Photography and Cinematographer based in Lawrence, Kansas, Marcus brings a grounded eye shaped by his time at the University of Kansas and sharpened by years in the field. His work lives where craft meets instinct, where light does more than illuminate. It speaks. In this episode of Visual Intonation Podcast, Marcus talks about the quiet power of mentorship and timing. A single recommendation opened the door to a lasting creative bond with seasoned cinematographer Jeremy Osbern, a relationship that became both guidance and friendship. Marcus reflects on learning by watching, listening, and trusting the process. Growth, he reminds us, often arrives through people before projects. As an ASC Vision Mentee, Marcus continues to refine his voice while staying rooted in collaboration. His career spans commercial, documentary, sports, and entertainment, with clients and collaborators that include Dell, CBS, Gatorade, National Geographic, Fox Sports, MTV, and Sports Illustrated. Each project adds another layer to his visual language. Each set becomes a classroom. This conversation is about momentum and meaning. About building a career without losing curiosity. In this episode Patrick is sitting in for Joe and is examining the escalating tension between federal law enforcement and organized "insurgency" tactics currently unfolding in American cities. We examine the insights of former Special Forces Warrant Officer Eric Schwalm, who frames the recent street chaos and organized harassment of ICE agents not as mere activism, but as a calculated counter-insurgency struggle. We break down the shift toward non-cooperation in "blue jurisdictions" and the pivotal moment Minnesota State Police stepped in to assist federal authorities against coordinated agitators. Why the change?Joining the program is author, commentator, and private investigator Cheryl Chumley to discuss the deliberate ideological capture of American institutions. We explore whether the current state of "lawfare" and street unrest is an organic collapse or a manufactured crisis designed to erode religious liberty and constitutional governance. Chumley provides a sobering look at the lack of accountability within federal bureaucracies and discusses whether the American public still maintains control over a government increasingly run by unelected interests. Finally, we turn our attention to the hijacking of the American education system and the data that reveals its consequences. By analyzing failing proficiency scores in districts like Lawrence, Kansas, and Gwinnett County, Georgia, we connect the dots between radicalized curricula and the rise of "mass disruption" movements supported by leaders within the National Education Association. From student walkouts to the doxxing of law enforcement, we expose how the education system is being used as a staging ground for political revolution at the expense of the next generation's academic and moral foundation.
As winter settles in and hunting season fades into memory, Mitchell slows things down with a shorter, story-driven episode centered on reflection rather than tactics. After returning from a Kansas waterfowl trip and battling a heavy snowstorm back home, he leans into the quieter rhythm of late January—when the woods are still, the tags are filled or empty, and stories begin to matter more than strategy. This episode of the Pennsylvania Woodsman ventures off into a slightly different format: simpler conversations, cabin-table storytelling, and memories worth retelling.Mitchell then takes listeners back nearly 20 years to November 19, 2007—the day he harvested his first Pennsylvania black bear at just 13 years old. Through vivid detail, he recounts deep snow, long bear drives, camp camaraderie, youthful mistakes, and the moment a bear appeared silently behind him at fifteen yards. The story weaves together family, tradition, humility, and luck—culminating in a once-in-a-lifetime day where both a grandson and a grandfather filled their first bear tags. It's a reminder of why we hunt, why stories endure, and how certain moments in the woods stay with us forever. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
What if the Royals played everyone here and were actually the smartest, most brilliant business tacticians in all of this Kansas City stadium drama? It's either that or they are the luckiest outfit ever. We'll let you decide but there's no denying 5 years ago the Royals said they were getting a new stadium and they wanted it downtown. When that failed at every turn, did they use Overland Park and Kansas officials for leverage to get what they wanted? Did they let the Chiefs move first, something they know doubt knew was in the works, to let the freak out happen? It's possible. If not... wow were they lucky. Hey, turns out Alex Pretti was known to the feds as a problem... we have some details. Also in Minneapolis, an agitator confronts Ilhan Omar and, get this, the Minneapolis local police arrest the guy. Go figure. Bill Belichick fails to get the vote to enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame and it shows just how absurd and petty the committee members are. The Chiefs name two local architecture firms working to design their new stadium. I don't think it's a competition. Darryn Peterson is ready to rock Saturday against BYU and their star freshman AJ Dybansta. K-State has a buyout problem with Jerome Tang, Mizzou gets drilled at Alabama. A billionaire is paying our Olympic athletes and a man in New Jersey is ordered by his wife to return expensive orange juice to the store and it turns out your wife always knows best. You have to hear this Final Final.
Kansas just became a case study in how political power operates without a single vote ever being taken. In this episode of The Right Side with Doug Billings, Doug breaks down the quiet mechanics of leadership control, procedural power, and why grassroots movements often lose battles that never reach the floor. This isn't about party labels. It's about visibility, accountability, and who really governs between elections. You'll hear: • Why controlling the calendar can be more powerful than winning a vote • How “we don't have the votes” becomes a political strategy • What redistricting actually signals about future representation • The tension between leadership stability and grassroots accountability • Why civic memory matters in a constitutional republicIf you care about transparency, institutional power, and the future of local and state governance, this conversation is for you. We're in this together, folks. Believe it. For the Republic! Cheers.Support the show

I had a podcast today with Erika Victor, who's this just unique individual who I had originally met at the Far West show in Austin, Texas. I had followed her on her Instagram because I liked her work. I just thought it was very unique. It has a sensibility that's different from most other people, and that's what I'm looking for in an artist. Erika came by my gallery in Tucson to record this episode and I had no idea that by the end of the podcast I'd be showing her work. I truly didn't expect to have that happen. After seeing her work in person, getting to speak to her for an extended period of time, all of that really solidified my idea that this is a person that has what it takes to succeed as an artist and is committed to her craft. She's from Kansas, and she got her degree in photography, but nowadays she teaches art in Zuni, New Mexico. Not everybody can make the transition to a place like Zuni. It's beautiful, I love the place and the people, but it's very isolated. Erika moved there for her job, but picked Zuni specifically over a handful of other options because of the landscape (something she absolutely loves to paint). She loves painting people too and her paintings of Native American people exhibit a contemporary approach to a classic western art theme.Anyhow, I enjoyed this podcast a great deal and I hope you like this podcast as much as I did. This is our newest represented artist as of January 2026, Erika Victor.View available works by Erika Victor here: https://www.medicinemangallery.com/collections/victor-erika

We spend most of the first hour talking about this Royals news! No more Kansas!
We talk about the breaking news yesterday from the Royals that Kansas has backed out of the stadium deal. Could a downtown ballpark be a reality? We then discuss how quickly a team can turn around in the NFL.
Bob tells us why the Kansas plans fell through as we try and stay positive because a downtown ball park is still a possibility.
