But they got a huge win in the lottery, with the top pick for the first time since taking Howard in 2004. Tonight Chicago Sky at Seattle Storm, 10:00 p.m. WNBA – State Dept pushing to see Griner; NBA Commissioner weighs in The State Department said Tuesday that it still pushing to have regular contact with WNBA star Brittney Griner, who has been detained in Russia for nearly three months. A consular official was able to meet with Griner last week, when her pre-trial detention in Russia was extended for one month. Griner has been detained since February, after vape cartridges containing oil derived from cannabis were allegedly found in her luggage at an airport in Moscow. The NBA also weighed in on the matter Tuesday. Commissioner Adam Silver says his league is also trying to bring Griner home. NFL – Bears try to prove they can support QB Justin Fields The Chicago Bears have brought in numerous new faces on offense, but none of the most expensive free agents and they used their second-round draft picks for defensive help, so at organized team activity workouts they face questions about how well they’ve supported quarterback Justin Fields. The Bears signed third-round receiver Velus Jones to a contract on Tuesday and added another offensive lineman in Shon Coleman, but they’re trying to prove competition and a thorough understanding of their new offense can compensate for the lack of top-level offensive help for Fields. NFL – Former Bears RB Tarik Cohen injured during streamed workout Former Chicago Bears running back Tarik Cohen, now a free agent, apparently suffered an injury during a training session being live-streamed on his Instagram account. The hard-luck player, released in March by the Bears due to past injuries, grabbed the back of his leg after going down during the workout. The incident was seen on Instagram Live, with Cohen falling to the floor after back-peddling. Cohen played three full seasons with Chicago but made it to only three games in 2021 before tearing knee ligaments. Horse Racing – Rich Strike skipping Preakness reignites Triple Crown debate Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike’s absence from the Preakness has reignited the debate over whether the spacing of the three Triple Crown races should be changed. The current schedule of two weeks from the Derby to Preakness and then three weeks to the Belmont has been in place since 1969, except for 2020 when the pandemic disrupted the order. Orlando finished with the worst record in the Eastern Conference at 22-60 and missed the playoffs for the eighth time in 10 years. But they got a huge win in the lottery, with the top pick for the first time since taking Howard in 2004. Duke’s Paolo Banchero, Gonzaga’s Chet Holmgren, Purdue’s Jaden Ivey and Auburn’s Jabari Smith are widely considered the most likely candidates to be taken first. Oklahoma City got the second pick, followed by Houston and Sacramento. Detroit will pick fifth. WNBA – Women’s National Basketball Association Last Night Atlanta Dreams 101, Indiana Fever 79 Dream 101, Fever 79 – Howard scores 19 as Dream beat Fever, again, 101-79 Rhyne Howard scored 19 points, Cheyenne Parker added 17 and the Atlanta Dream beat the Indiana Fever 101-79. Erica Wheeler had a season-high 16 points and rookie Kristy Wallace added a career-best 15 for Atlanta. Wallace was a second-round pick out of Baylor in 2018 and made her WNBA debut in the season opener after playing professionally in her native Australia the last four seasons. Howard hit 3-pointers to open and close an 11-2 opening run and the Dream never trailed. Victoria Vivians led Indiana (2-4) with 16 points. Danielle Robinson and Kelsey Mitchell score 12 points apiece. NaLyssa Smith, the No. 2 overall selection in last month’s draft, did not play for the Fever due to an ankle injury. Proponents of change argue it’s better for horses to get more rest and that the Preakness would become a better race. Welcome back to the kitchen table. This week Bethany is joined by two of her closest friends Caroline Collie and Kristy Wallace as they share their stories, experiences, and battles with the lie of falling behind and missing out. They provide insight and perspective on how they have battled this lie with profound advice on how to keep moving forward. As with all of the other lies we have spoken about, the enemy ultimately has us asking ourselves the same three questions. Did God really say that?Is God really good?Is God for you? The enemy attacks you, sending you into discontentment, and he leads you to believe that God made a mistake when he chose you as the mother of your children. It's important to recognize these lies as they begin to creep in, anchor yourself in his word, and remember the ways he has been good in the past. If you are interested in learning more about Kristy and Caroline, you can check out their bios below. Kristy Wallace is an occupational therapist, wife, and mother. Kristy has seen the importance of resilience as we navigate all the things life throws our way. Through her writing and speaking, Kristy invites women to consider how we can partner with the work God is doing to transform our thinking, wellness, relationships, and sense of meaning and purpose. The resilience that is rooted in the good news of Jesus is the anchor we need in these challenging times. You can find her on Instagram and Facebook @KristyPWallace. Caroline Collie is a homeschooling Mom with four kids born on three different continents. She is married to her South African Hero Hubs, loves Jesus and dark chocolate (in that order), and writes, speaks, and creates resources to help people find deeper, more meaningful relationships with God and each other by focusing on better communication. Caroline's weekly email will encourage you with a funny story, a simple thought, and a powerful Scripture, each chosen to help you pause, take a deep breath, and make one small change that will improve your communication with God and the people you care about. You can find her free crisis ebook and sign up for her weekly love notes here. Head to Bethany's website to share anything you would like for her to answer. You can also subscribe to her newsletters for encouragement, free resources, new content, and more. You can also find Bethany on Facebook and Instagram @bethanykimsey to share some of your favorite moments or maybe some of your most difficult moments of motherhood. She has created journal pages to help you identify the lies you're hearing and change your thinking. You can grab them right here.

Mental Toughness Mastery Podcast with Sheryl Kline, M.A. CHPC
www.sherylkline.com Sheryl Kline interviews Kristy Wallace, CEO of Ellevate Network. Key Take-aways 1.) Gender equality does not fall into two buckets. Equal access to opportunity within our 'women' bucket has a long way to go. Depending on your race and identity, some likely face barriers that others do not. 2.) Be an active participant in others success, daily. This can be as simple as giving someone a shout out online, making a phone call, diversifying your meeting or even just acknowledging someone. 3.) Be proactive about asking 'How can I help?' We can take this a step further and offer up some specific help. For example, 'You have a big presentation coming up. Would it be helpful to get to work early and practice? 4.) Be consistent with your online communities, such as Ellevate, especially during this time of increased isolation. This will make sure you have the support, community and connection you need.

Kristy is responsible for executing Ellevate Network’s mission to close the gender achievement gap in business by providing professional women with a global community to lean on and learn from. Kristy is also host of the Ellevate Podcast. We dived deep into the power of networking – and how to network effectively. Your tribe, your squad! We discussed the concept of a personal brand and how important it is to cultivate one intentionally, noting that one’s brand must change over time. I asked Kristy about recent guests on the very popular Ellevate Podcast and what we can expect to learn at Mobilize Women, the 2018 Ellevate Summit which will be held on June 21st. Finally we closed with some personal questions and I was surprised to find a fellow Nancy Drew fan! One of the many insights Kristy shared was that "all leaders have different traits – different narratives, different identities. So how do you start to cultivate what your identity is?" Please forgive the sirens – the podcast was recorded in New York City! To find out more about Kristy, follow her on LinkedIn, Instagram @kristyawallace and Twitter @kristysisko The Mobilizing the Power of Women takes place on June 21. Tweet: @kristysisko is sharing her story to inspire you on Women Taking the Lead https://womentakingthelead.com/246 #inspiration Playing Small Moment After having her children, Kristy was unsure what she wanted to do with her career. She is the type of person who always puts in 110% to whatever she is doing, and she didn’t know if she could balance work and home. Kristy applied for jobs she wasn’t really excited about, thinking it would help, but she just ended up undervaluing herself. Style of Leadership Kristy is honest with herself about her strengths and weaknesses. It is also really important for her as a leader to get to know her team, how they communicate and how they learn. It’s not one size fits all when it comes to being a leader. What Are You Excited About? Ellevate Network focuses on supporting women in business and how to give them more resources to get ahead or help them through professional or residential transitions. They have been making more progress they are really excited about it. Current Business Challenge With a growing team, Kristy knows they need more structure and details to act upon but she struggles with how to break down her vision into those micro details. Leadership Practice Kristy ensures she is very approachable. She also believes that being open to feedback and being connected to your team helps the whole company thrive. Advice For Younger Self Don’t overthink it.
