The Rickey Smiley Morning Show Podcast dives into today’s most urgent and eye‑opening celebrity and news stories. Nicki Minaj continues to spark controversy by doubling down on her support for Donald Trump’s immigration policies, equating border enforcement to protecting a private home—comments that have intensified public debate following her recent appearances with Trump and the revelation that she received a “gold card” giving her a pathway to citizenship. Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian is generating major buzz as her rumored romance with Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton grows more visible, supported by multiple sightings in Paris and the UK, where the two were seen arriving together and spending private time at luxury locations. Adding to the week’s explosive topics, GloRilla faces public scrutiny after her sister accused her of failing to support their mother—who allegedly still works at FedEx—despite the rapper’s rising success and multimillion‑dollar net worth, sparking heated debate online about celebrity responsibility to family. The Letter of Jude E5 — In verses 11-16, Jude continues warning his Jewish messianic audience about deceptive, immoral people infiltrating their house churches. He compares them to three characters from the Hebrew Bible—Cain, Balaam, and Korah—who choose rebellion for themselves and lead others astray. Next, he compares the corrupt church members to a series of images from Scripture, including selfish shepherds, rainless clouds, and wandering stars. In this episode, Jon and Tim continue exploring Jude's dense prose, where he seamlessly weaves together allusions to the Hebrew Bible and Second-Temple period literature into a piercing critique of imposters within a community of disciples.FULL SHOW NOTESFor chapter-by-chapter summaries, referenced Scriptures, and reflection questions, check out the full show notes for this episode.CHAPTERSCain, Balaam, and Korah (0:00-23:23)Six Images of Corrupt Leaders (23:23-37:45)The Prophecy of Enoch (37:45-55:42)OFFICIAL EPISODE TRANSCRIPTView this episode's official transcript.BIBLEPROJECT JUDE TRANSLATIONView our full translation of the Letter of Jude.REFERENCED RESOURCESAntiquities of the Jews by JosephusCheck out Tim's extensive collection of recommended books here.SHOW MUSIC“Gentle Lamb” by Lofi Sunday, Yoni Charis“Purple Clouds ft. In August 1989, José, 45, and Kitty Menendez, 47, were shot to death in their Beverly Hills home. Their sons, Lyle, 18, and Erik, 21, would later confess to the killings—setting off one of the most polarizing murder trials in American history. What initially looked like a mob-style hit unraveled into a story of family control, extreme dysfunction, and disturbing allegations of long-term sexual abuse. The trials exposed the private life of a wealthy, image-driven family and forced the public to confront uncomfortable questions about trauma, masculinity, and male child sexual abuse.Today's snack: Buc-ee's Ghost Pepper Salsa and Pecan Trio (thanks Alicia!)Listen to all three parts today on Patreon: https://patreon.com/LoveMarryKillSources:https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/722-N-Elm-Dr-Beverly-Hills-CA-90210/20519601_zpid/? This week on Beyond the Letter, Sammy hosts a conversation on teamwork—what it really takes to build healthy teams, healthy culture, and healthy leadership in everyday life. Joined by his wife Chandler and their friend Haron, they unpack why collaboration matters more than ever, how unity can exist without everyone thinking the same, and why “going far” requires learning to stay connected even through disagreements. From leadership circles to friendships and family rhythms, the thread is simple: you don't have to carry everything alone. They also go practical with holistic health—body, mind, relationships, and spirituality—sharing a framework Chandler uses in her counseling work (biopsychosocial + spiritual) and how healthy habits shape strong teams over time. The episode closes with a powerful culture takeaway: culture isn't just what we do—it's why we do it… and the language we repeat is what we end up defending. Plus, Andy jumps in with a Gen Z perspective on building “teams” even when you're introverted or your circle is small.--Connect with:Samuel Rodriguez https://www.instagram.com/samuelmrod/Haron Kaisa https://www.instagram.com/kaisaclan/Chandler Rodriguez https://www.instagram.com/chandlerbrod/--Check out Adam's website!https://www.adammesa.org/--Don't forget to stay connected with us:Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4OvpFp9OB9_DgVdVVbXhFgInstagram https://www.instagram.com/beyond.theletter/Tik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/discover/beyond-the-letter--Have a question? Please Join us in supporting one of Manuel's students whose world was turned upside down this week when her father was detained by ICE. Click here for the GoFundMe. This Week: While the harm has, to a significant extent, already been done, there was an important legal victory in the fight against the white supremacist, fascist effort to destroy public education. A lawsuit brought by the AFT and others last summer resulted in a federal judge declaring the administration's attempt to outlaw “illegal discrimination” against white people, and requiring that districts and universities certify they don't practice DEI was enacted without following proper procedures. Just this month the administration declared they are dropping their appeal. This is one of numerous legal defeats the administration has suffered, however their fascist overreach continues, raising continued constitutional crises, and reinforcing the chilling effect of their racist agenda. Also, new research from scholars in New York state shows the lasting harm that ICE and DHS terrorism causes children who experience it themselves, or with a family member. Anxiety, depression, absenteeism, and chronic stress are likely just the tip of the iceberg. Thankfully a growing number of ed advocacy groups are speaking out against ICE terrorism and declaring it an existential threat to the safety of America's children and school communities. In this episode, Dr. David Puder hosts a discussion on schizoid personality dynamics through the lens of Franz Kafka's life and writings. Discover why the DSM-5's surface-level criteria for schizoid personality disorder falls short, often missing the intense inner conflict between a profound yearning for connection and a paralyzing fear of engulfment. Drawing on the Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual (PDM), Nancy McWilliams' insightful perspectives, and Kafka's unsent "Letter to His Father" plus classics like "The Metamorphosis," the group explores how schizoid traits differ from autism, involve hypersensitivity rather than social cue deficits, and manifest in creative, introspective individuals. Care More Be Better: Social Impact, Sustainability + Regeneration Now
This episode of Care More Be Better is intentionally different. Rather than analysis or debate, host Corinna Bellizzi shares the direct audio of comedian and actor Matt Braunger reading a letter written by his cousin — a father, neighbor, and resident of the Twin Cities — who felt compelled to document what daily life has become like amid intensified federal immigration enforcement in Minneapolis–St. Paul. The letter is not a political essay. It's a witness account — grounded in everyday details like children's activities, neighborhood text threads, and community members stepping into unexpected roles of care and resistance. Through this deeply human lens, the episode explores how large political forces manifest quietly inside ordinary life. After the audio, Corinna reflects on what it means to bear witness without panic, how media fragmentation and algorithm-driven news shape public understanding, and why democracy depends not only on elections, but on relationships, mutual care, and informed attention. Listeners are invited to reflect on their own communities, examine where they get their information, and consider small but meaningful ways to stay engaged, connected, and informed — before fear becomes routine. In its latest joint letter to Judges Richard M. Berman and Paul A. Engelmayer, the Department of Justice frames its update as a status report on compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, emphasizing the scale and complexity of the task rather than offering concrete results. The DOJ reiterates that it is conducting an extensive review of materials connected to both United States v. Jeffrey Epstein and United States v. Ghislaine Maxwell, describing the universe of records as massive and varied, including investigative files, recordings, and other sensitive materials. The department stresses that its review process is focused heavily on redaction, particularly to protect victim identities and sensitive third-party information, and portrays this as a labor-intensive, multi-layered effort requiring careful quality control.Notably, the letter avoids committing to any firm timeline for completion or public release, instead repeating assurances of “ongoing progress” and good-faith compliance with the Act's directives. While the DOJ presents its work as methodical and necessary, the update effectively confirms that large portions of the Epstein-related materials remain unreleased well past statutory deadlines. The tone of the submission positions delay as an unavoidable consequence of caution and volume, offering process explanations in place of deliverables, and leaving the ultimate scope, pace, and completeness of the eventual disclosures unresolved.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:gov.uscourts.nysd.539612.845.0.pdf

Missionary Letter - US Military - Japan
Following the second killing of an American by ICE agents in Minneapolis, Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a letter to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz linking the violence in Minnesota to a demand that the state give the Justice Department complete access to the state's voter rolls, among other requests. It's an outrageous and unambiguous abuse of power. It's also part of a broader strategy to undermine elections heading into the 2026 midterms. Listen as experts break down what has happened and discuss how we can both respond to ICE and protect our elections in this troubling moment.Recorded on January 27, 2026.Keep up with the Brennan Center's work by subscribing to our weekly newsletter, The Briefing, at https://go.brennancenter.org/briefing.The Brennan Center is a nonpartisan law and policy institute that works to repair, revitalize, and defend our systems of democracy and justice so they work for all Americans. Stephen Miller, Donald Trump, Kristi Noem, J.D. Vance, and the entire MAGA Klan murdered Alex Pretti. They sent Bovino into early retirement, but he must be arrested, along with his agents who shot 10 bullets into Pretti, an ICU nurse for the VA who spent his life helping others. Demand the impeachment of President Stephen Miller: force Trump to throw him under the bus, too. It's a start to the demands for justice. To honor Pretti and our work ahead, find time to grieve. We cannot power through this collective rage and anxiety without releasing it. Even the strong need to cry in the shower. If we don't sit with our grief, it will force you to. Grieving is an act of resistance. It changes you, and it plants the seeds of justice that we will use to build a better world together. To the people of Minnesota, you have created an American Maidan, standing strong against tyranny. Even Ukrainians, freezing in the cold from Russia bombing their electrical grids, see you, and are calling your movement a Maidan. To grow a real resistance, we share a message recorded by Annie, a Gaslit Nation listener in Minneapolis. Our victory is guaranteed because our enemies are cowards who hide behind masks. America has defeated the Klan before. We must fight with urgency in a generational struggle. Join the General Strike this Friday January 31st. Divest from the corporations funding the MAGA regime–look to Cut Off the Spigot to learn how. And most importantly, stand by each other. In this episode of The Leader's Notebook (Ep. 297), I take us to Ephesians 4 and 5 to confront the gap between theoretical Christianity and real life in the Spirit. Too many believers are content to talk about faith without ever stepping into the canoe. Paul reminds us that being filled with the Holy Spirit is not an abstract idea—it shows up in how we speak, forgive, submit, give, and love one another. Spirit-filled living is intensely practical. This message calls us beyond gifts, experiences, and religious language into holiness expressed in community. Walking in love means allowing the Holy Spirit to probe our lives, heal our relationships, and shape the way we live with family, church, and the people God places around us. Real Christianity is not learned in theory—it is lived in love. – Dr. Mark Rutland Chapters (00:00:03) - The Leaders Notebook(00:00:25) - Paul's Letter to the Church(00:07:35) - Paul lists the negative aspects of human relationships in Ephesians 5(00:12:50) - The Gifts of the Holy Spirit(00:17:40) - Have You Received the Holy Spirit?(00:21:50) - Paul on Submission in Ephesians 5(00:27:39) - Paul's On Submission and Love(00:30:58) - The Contradiction of Submission and Authority(00:36:09) - Gossip in the Family(00:43:08) - How to Live in Community(00:47:24) - The Leader's Notebook

The Letter of Jude E4 — In verses 5-7, Jude warns a Jewish Messianic community about a group of people in their midst who live without moral restraint and reject Jesus' authority. After comparing them to a series of human and angelic rebels in the Hebrew Bible, Jude then calls out the corrupt church members in verses 8-10 as ones who “slander the glorious-ones,” referring to angels. What is Jude talking about, and why would slandering spiritual beings be considered offensive? In this episode, Jon and Tim explore the Hebrew Bible and Second-Temple period apocryphal literature to understand the unique role and revered status of angels among 1st-century Jewish people.FULL SHOW NOTESFor chapter-by-chapter summaries, referenced Scriptures, and reflection questions, check out the full show notes for this episode.CHAPTERSRecap of Introduction and Setup for Verses 8-10 (0:00-10:21)Angels in the Hebrew Bible and Second-Temple Literature (10:21-39:02)Michael the Archangel's Restraint (39:02-1:06:12)OFFICIAL EPISODE TRANSCRIPTView this episode's official transcript.BIBLEPROJECT JUDE TRANSLATIONView our full translation of the Letter of Jude.REFERENCED RESOURCESGod and Spiritual Beings Podcast SeriesCheck out Tim's extensive collection of recommended books.SHOW MUSIC“Chillbop ft. In this episode, Sammy hosts with Haron and Fuego as they react to Druski's viral “megachurch” skit—and talk about why it hit such a nerve. They unpack the difference between mocking faith vs. mocking the performance of faith, and why so many people take a painful experience and turn it into a blanket statement: “this is why I don't do church.” From there, the conversation turns into a real look inward: hypocrisy, accountability, and how leaders can invite trusted voices in, “watch the film,” and stay centered on God instead of image. They also zoom out to what people don't always see behind the curtain: the impact, resourcing, missions, and restoration work that healthy churches are doing quietly. Plus, Andy jumps in with Gen Z perspective—why young people are spiritually curious but often lack biblical foundation, and why a skit shouldn't become someone's whole theology. The big takeaway: don't let viral moments push you away from Jesus or the local church—let it spark honest reflection, deeper discipleship, and a return to the Word.--Connect with:Samuel Rodriguez https://www.instagram.com/samuelmrod/Haron Kaisa https://www.instagram.com/kaisaclan/Fuego Padilla https://www.instagram.com/iamfuegopadilla/--Check out Adam's website!https://www.adammesa.org/--Don't forget to stay connected with us:Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4OvpFp9OB9_DgVdVVbXhFgInstagram https://www.instagram.com/beyond.theletter/Tik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/discover/beyond-the-letter--Have a question? Playing favorites may feel like a phase we outgrow, but James confronts how deeply partiality still shapes our lives—and our faith. In James 2:1–13, we are warned that favoritism based on status, appearance, wealth, or ideology is incompatible with faith in Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. This teaching by Pastor Aaron McRae exposes how easily we absorb the world's habits of ranking, judging, and dividing others, often without realizing it. James reminds us that true faith is not merely held—it is lived. Faith in Jesus must look like Jesus, expressed through mercy, humility, and love for neighbor without exception.Through Scripture, cultural insight, and practical application, this message calls believers to examine their hearts, reject unconscious bias, and live under the “royal law” of love. Ultimately, James leaves us with a defining vision for Christian living: mercy triumphs over judgment.James Study Journal – Weekly Scripture readings, reflection prompts, and space to apply the teaching personally or with a group - https://hillsidechurches.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/James2026_Journal_FINAL.pdf Discussion Guide – Designed for small groups, coffee groups, or families to process the message together - https://hillsidechurches.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Discussion-Guide-1.18.26.pdf Resources & Scripture ReferencesPrimary Text: James 2:1–13Supporting Scripture-Leviticus 19:15, 18-Genesis 1:27-Galatians 3:26–28-John 1:14-John 15:12–13-Exodus 33:18–19-Ephesians 3:17–19Referenced Authors-Douglas Moo, James-Scot McKnight, The Letter of James-N.T. Full Text of Readings The Saint of the day is Saints Timothy and Titus Saints Timothy and Titus' Story What we know from the New Testament of Timothy's life makes it sound like that of a modern harried bishop. He had the honor of being a fellow apostle with Paul, both sharing the privilege of preaching the gospel and suffering for it. Timothy had a Greek father and a Jewish mother named Eunice. Being the product of a “mixed” marriage, he was considered illegitimate by the Jews. It was his grandmother, Lois, who first became Christian. Timothy was a convert of Paul around the year 47 and later joined him in his apostolic work. He was with Paul at the founding of the Church in Corinth. During the 15 years he worked with Paul, he became one of his most faithful and trusted friends. He was sent on difficult missions by Paul—often in the face of great disturbance in local churches which Paul had founded. Timothy was with Paul in Rome during the latter's house arrest. At some period Timothy himself was in prison (Hebrews 13:23). Paul installed him as his representative at the Church of Ephesus. Timothy was comparatively young for the work he was doing. Several references seem to indicate that he was timid. And one of Paul's most frequently quoted lines was addressed to him: “Stop drinking only water, but have a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent illnesses” (1 Timothy 5:23). Titus has the distinction of being a close friend and disciple of Paul as well as a fellow missionary. He was Greek, apparently from Antioch. Even though Titus was a Gentile, Paul would not let him be forced to undergo circumcision at Jerusalem. Titus is seen as a peacemaker, administrator, great friend. Paul's second letter to Corinth affords an insight into the depth of his friendship with Titus, and the great fellowship they had in preaching the gospel. When Paul was having trouble with the community at Corinth, Titus was the bearer of Paul's severe letter and was successful in smoothing things out. Paul writes he was strengthened not only by the arrival of Titus but also “by the encouragement with which he was encouraged in regard to you, as he told us of your yearning, your lament, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced even more…. And his heart goes out to you all the more, as he remembers the obedience of all of you, when you received him with fear and trembling” (2 Corinthians 7:7a, 15). The “Letter to Titus” addresses him as the administrator of the Christian community on the island of Crete, charged with organizing it, correcting abuses, and appointing presbyter-bishops. Reflection In Titus we get another glimpse of life in the early Church: great zeal in the apostolate, great communion in Christ, great friendship. Yet always there is the problem of human nature and the unglamorous details of daily life: the need for charity and patience in “quarrels with others, fears within myself,” as Paul says. Through it all, the love of Christ sustained them. At the end of the Letter to Titus, Paul says that when the temporary substitute comes, “hurry to me.” The early Church fathers were working to build its reach and its influence over believers. And while their lives often came to a violent and abrupt end, the seeds they sowed flourished the world over and continues to deepen the the faith lives of millions of people. Canada, a business entity headquartered in Washington, DC, is at the center of intense, high-stakes allegations involving governance, crimes against humanity, national security, and election integrity. It has grown into the world's largest terrorist hub with over 4,000 organizations operating there per CSIS' own report. Their plans to execute 14.7 Million Canadians by lethal injection have been leaked, yet why have we not seen a turnover to peace and freedom while the corportocracy in Ottawa have been shown to both support and carry out international war crimes from experimental gene-editing WMDs, fund FTO's labelled by the USA, have no election integrity, have multiple lawsuits from Norman Traversy and others tossed out of a corrupt judiciary from RICO to the Freedom Convoy, Universal Ostrich Farms and more. Sovereign Sensei Dan Oke connects the dots across Canada + the U.S., digging into interactions with JAG, the Law of War Manual's context, and the White Flag of Parley as sovereignty momentum accelerates in what's lauded to be the 51st State. .

The Letter of Jude E3 — After the letter's opening appeal, Jude (or Judah) begins warning corrupt members of a Jewish messianic church community who cast off restraint and live openly immoral lives. He does so with an ancient rhetorical technique found in both the Hebrew Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Jude shares three stories of rebellion in the Hebrew Bible: the spies fearful of the promised land in Numbers 13-14, the “sons of God” in Genesis 6, and the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19. Then he draws comparisons to the corrupt church members, promising they'll receive the same judgment. Why does Jude write this way about the moral crisis in a church? What is he trying to communicate? In this episode, Jon and Tim explore verses 5-8, unpacking the dense biblical references and what they would have meant to Jude and his audience.FULL SHOW NOTESFor chapter-by-chapter summaries, referenced Scriptures, and reflection questions, check out the full show notes for this episode.CHAPTERSA Jewish Rhetorical Technique (0:00-18:10)Rebellion of the Spies, Sons of God, and Sodom and Gomorrah (18:10-36:41)Concluding Thoughts on the First Triad (36:41-51:54)OFFICIAL EPISODE TRANSCRIPTView this episode's official transcript.BIBLEPROJECT JUDE TRANSLATIONView our full translation of the Letter of Jude.REFERENCED RESOURCESThe Dead Sea Scrolls (Pesharim)Check out Tim's extensive collection of recommended books.SHOW MUSIC“Fellowship” by Lofi Sunday, Cassidy Godwin“Peace With You ft.
