The far-left woke activist Rashida Tlaib is officially censored by the US Congress, and a number of her Democrat colleagues joined in! We're going to see the latest on the censure, we're going to see some of the silliest, most unhinged woke antics that accompanied it, and why a Democrat civil war threatens to split the party for a generation. Highlights: “Astonishingly, the vote for the censure included 22 Democrats. That is perhaps the most shocking development of them all! Twenty-two Democrats did what Democrats never do - they crossed the aisle and voted with Republicans to punish one of their own.” “Jewish leaders are openly saying, they've never seen, in their lifetime, so many Jews expressing how done they are with the Democrat Party. If the Democrat Party is now the de-facto party of pro-Palestinian activism, they're outright done with it!” Timestamps: [00:49] Rashida Tlaib officially censured by the US Congress [03:15] The most unhinged woke antics that accompanied this censure [06:12] How the Israeli-Hamas conflict is tearing the Democrat Party apart Resources: Show your support for President Trump with his new cards HERE: https://www.physicaltrumpcards.com/trump-cards-collection-podcast The Courageous Patriot Community is inviting YOU! Key Drivers Of Business Value Part 4 of 10 | Human ResourcesWhen we talk about Human Resources (HR) SOPs in the context of a business's exit plan, they hold significant value. Here's why:1. **Smooth Transition**: An exit plan is often about transition. Whether the business is being sold, merged, or passed on to heirs, clearly defined HR SOPs ensure that personnel changes, responsibilities, and shifts are carried out with minimal disruptions. 2. **Protecting Employee Rights**: HR SOPs provide clear guidelines on handling resignations, terminations, retirements, or even massive layoffs. Ensuring that these procedures are carried out legally and ethically protects the company from potential lawsuits or public relations disasters.3. **Valuation and Sale**: When selling a business, potential buyers are interested in all operational aspects of the business. Clear HR SOPs signal to potential buyers that the business is well-organized, reducing perceived risk and potentially increasing the valuation of the business.4. **Knowledge Transfer**: SOPs help ensure that the knowledge is not just in the heads of a few key employees. They provide a blueprint for new leadership or owners on how various HR tasks are carried out, preserving organizational memory.5. **Consistency**: Whether during regular operations or a company's exit, consistency in processes ensures predictability. This helps both employees and leadership know what to expect, making changes less jarring and maintaining company culture.6. **Legal Compliance**: HR operations often intersect with local labor laws and regulations. Well-defined SOPs ensure that the business is always in compliance, particularly during sensitive periods like business exits when scrutiny may be higher.7. **Efficiency**: As businesses prepare for an exit, they often look for ways to streamline operations and reduce costs. SOPs can point out redundancies or inefficiencies in HR processes, paving the way for smoother operations.8. **Employee Morale and Retention**: During times of transition, employees often feel insecure about their roles and futures. Clear HR SOPs related to communication, severance, or potential re-hiring can alleviate some of these concerns, leading to better morale and reduced turnover.9. **Stakeholder Communication**: Stakeholders, including investors, partners, and even customers, often have an interest in a business's exit strategy. Clear HR procedures can help guide communication strategies and stakeholder management.10. **Flexibility**: As contradictory as it might sound, having clear SOPs can provide a business with the flexibility to adapt. By having a clear structure, businesses can identify what's essential and what can be changed or adjusted during the transition. In essence, HR SOPs offer a roadmap that can be invaluable during the potentially turbulent times of a business exit. They provide clarity, protection, and structure, ensuring that the human side of the business – its employees – are managed with care and foresight.Chapters:00:00 Key Drivers Of Business Value Part 4 of 10 | Human Resources01:28 Leadership Development Program05:26 SOPs for Training and Onboarding08:40 SOPs for Human Resources Administrative Functions11:00 ComplianceAbout Inside BS Show with The Godfather and Nicki GThe Inside BS Show with the Godfather and Nicki G provides business leaders with inside business secrets to help them make a great living and live a great life.Since its inception in 2020, the show has been a valuable resource for CEOs and business leaders seeking the personal and professional knowledge they need to take their businesses to the next level while making the journey more rewarding. Al Sharpton gets absolutely triggered by Vivek Ramaswamy's obvious intellectual superiority; bless his heart, the so-called Reverend did what he could to try to rhetorically corner Vivek, but he looked more like the coyote chasing the road runner! Highlights: ● “Al Sharpton, in trying to make a very forced, very tortured distinction, that you can make a comparison between politicians and the KKK but you can't call them Grand Wizards, in trying to make a distinction without a difference, he actually had to lie!” ● “Whether Sharpton likes it or not, what Vivek is arguing here is a perfectly legitimate argument; Bill Maher, a self-professed liberal, is making the same argument; that's absolutely key here; liberals are making this very same argument! It's not a partisan argument specific to the conservative, even liberals see the legitimacy of the analogy.” ● “And the very fact that Sharpton had to stoop to such lengths to deflect himself and the Democrats from such an analogy only serves to demonstrate how immersed he is in it!” Timestamps: [01:32] Al Sharpton triggered by Vivek Ramaswamy [08:15] Bill Maher makes the same argument as Vivek [13:05] Al Sharpton and MSNBC have embraced an ethno-nationalist sentiment known as tribalism Resources: ● Show your support for President Trump with his new cards HERE: https://www.physicaltrumpcards.com/trump-cards-collection-podcast ● Want free inside stock tips straight from the SEC? Rachel Maddow's logic has been baffling, to say the least, and has left many scratching their heads. We're going to talk about the perplexing and absurd theories she put forth on her cable news show, where she predicted that Donald Trump would either lose an election and go to prison, or win and cancel all future elections. Highlights: “Trump isn't going to jail! This is a fantasy of Rachel's on par with her Robert Mueller hoax that she perpetrated on her audience for two years.” “If what Maddow is saying is true, if Trump could just anoint himself president for life, then why didn't he do that in 2020? Why did he spend so much time pressing for recounts and investigations? Why not just do exactly what Maddow claims he's going to do in 2024?” Timestamps: [00:49] Rachel Maddow's theories on Donald Trump [06:50] Why Trump isn't going to jail [07:32] Will Trump appoint himself president for life? Last week, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, reports started coming in to authorities in Maui County, Hawaii, of fires spotted in a number of adjacent neighborhoods on the island Within just a few hours, police began circling neighborhoods calling out frantically on megaphones for people to evacuate. What no one seemed to know at the time was that, what was about to unfold, would be the single most horrific natural disaster in the state's history! Highlights: “The cause of the fires was said originally to be downed power lines knocked down by hurricane level winds that caused the dry, combustible overgrown grasses of a number of abandoned farms in Maui to catch fire. But a growing number of people remain unconvinced by such an explanation, and are instead concerned that something else far more nefarious is actually to blame for the fires!” “This notion that the fires were deliberately set in order to clear the area for the advent of something like 15 minutes cities is not new; when the Dutch government sought to overly regulate and seize land from Dutch farmers, all in the name of these radical green policies of nitrogen reduction.” “Just because they're conspiracy theories doesn't mean they're not true, and we simply don't know if any of them are true, we don't know at this point what started these fires and why were officials caught so clearly off guard!” Timestamps: [01:19] Maui fires aftermath [02:34] Conspiracy theories arising behind Maui fires [08:29] How these fires are attempting to create a green initiated social reset Resources: Show your support for President Trump with his new cards HERE: https://www.physicaltrumpcards.com/trump-cards-collection-podcast Get two packs of organic bacon FREE every month if you sign up HERE: https://www.frebahlem.com/BG484F42/GG4LK9P/ Reclaim control over your health TODAY with PHD Weight Loss HERE: https://www.stevelost60.com/start The Courageous Patriot Community is inviting YOU! We now have four more articles of impeachment filed against our cognitively collapsing President all the while Donald Trump is surging in the polls! Highlights: “Representative Greg Steube of Florida has filed the impeachment articles, saying: ‘Bribery, Extortion, Obstruction of justice, Fraud, Financial involvement in drugs & prostitution, it's long past time to impeach Joe Biden. Joe Biden shouldn't be allowed to continue to sit in the White House, selling out our country'.” “We now have at least 12 articles of impeachment officially filed against Biden and this is obviously putting enormous pressure on Kevin McCarthy.” Timestamps: [00:49] On the 4 articles of impeachment against Joe Biden [03:40] The previous 8 articles of impeachment against Biden and why Mitch McConnell is pushing back against the impeachment [06:25] Senator Ted Cruz saying we can fight fire with fire while still holding on to the integrity of our nation [10:16] How Trump is better position than he's ever been to win it all in 2024 Resources: Show your support for President Trump with his new cards HERE: https://www.physicaltrumpcards.com/trump-cards-collection-podcast Get carrying TODAY with Countrywide Concealed HERE: https://www.frebahlem.com/BG484F42/G38H44Q/ Enter the parallel economy TODAY! I think Clark Griswold spoke on behalf of all us with regard to the utterly feckless, cowardly Mike Pence! Mike ‘America's not my concern' Pence! Have you heard about his ridiculously repulsive response to this latest sham indictment against President Trump on J6? Highlights: “But something deeper is going on here with Mike Pence, and I think we all know it, there's something far more symptomatic about his betrayal that we need to understand if we're going to rescue both our nation and the Republican Party in the process!” “To really get what a person like Mike Pence is all about, we need to make a distinction between a populist right party vs a populist lite party! That's an important distinction to make to understand why we have so many Benedict Arnold's like Mike Pence!” “A populist right party and a populist lite party operate by two fundamentally different politics: the populist right party operates by a politics of the people, where the values, concerns, and interests of the MAGA-base are represented faithfully by their elected officials, like Trump did so well for four years!” “However, a populist lite party is governed not by the politics of the people, but rather by the politics of the establishment, where GOP elected officials promote and protect the values, concerns, and interests of the permanent political class as amplified by the shameless cheerleading of the mainstream Marxist media! This is the party of the likes of Mike Pence!” Timestamps: [02:17] Pence's response to the indictment [03:03] Twitter has exploded over Mike Pence [05:30] Populist right party and Populist Lite party [07:22] How does Pence see the Republican Party? I am so excited about what's happening with the latest, shall we call it, ‘BudLight-ification' of the latest woke corporation! I'm talking about CMT, the Country Music Television channel that banned Jason Aldean's song, and how their ratings are plummeting while Jason's song is skyrocketing. Highlights: "We're getting word that CMT viewership has plummeted. Their ratings dropped upwards of 64%! CMT is going the way of Bud Light and Fox News!” “How on earth do you justify enforcing the sentiments and whims, not just of the most neurotic people on the planet, but of those who aren't even your audience? Again, it's just beyond bizarre!” Timestamps: [00:49] CMT ratings plummeting [02:48] The most absurd thing about CMT going the way of Bud Light, Disney, and Target [04:42] The heart of cancel culture - consumer politics Resources: Show your support for President Trump with his new cards HERE: https://www.physicaltrumpcards.com/trump-cards-collection Buy Colonel MacGregor's NEW BOOK HERE: https://www.usni.org/press/books/warriors-rage The Courageous Patriot Community is inviting YOU! The Dutch government has officially collapsed! The Dutch government, that was so faithfully instituting the WEF's green energy policies to the detriment of farmers throughout their nation, has indeed imploded! Highlights: ● “But something did indeed rip apart the coalition, whatever it was, and the Dutch government has officially collapsed! In fact, it's being widely reported that the now former prime minister Mark Rutte is leaving politics altogether; he's done! Stick a fork in him! He's leaving politics for good!” ● “Back in March, in an absolutely stunning upset, the upstart populist pro-farmer party known as the Farmer Citizen Movement scored a massive victory in their provincial elections that determined the make-up of the Dutch Senate. The Farmer Citizen Movement is a brand new party that represents the persecuted farmers who've been protesting against their draconian government non-stop now for months!” ● “Dutch police consistently cracked down on the protestors, they pulled out their guns, and at one point, they even started firing. But despite all of these gestapo-like tactics, the Dutch farmers have refused to back down, they've been fighting back these last several months! And now, they are the official majority in the Dutch Senate!” Timestamps: [01:33] The official reason for the coalition's collapse [05:24] Dutch farmers exploded in anger due to reduction in livestock [06:49] How have the liberal globalists in the Netherlands responded to these protests? I am sick of all the entrepreneurs and the gurus and the experts out there who are touting this idea of more money. More money for money's sake doesn't mean squat. Because I know way too many, well-meaning entrepreneurs who grew their businesses and scaled their businesses the wrong way. They had plenty of money coming in, but because of the way they structured and built their business, they had more money going out because their business required more team, more salary, and more resources. So they had more money going out than they had going into their bank account. I don't want you busy for busy's sake. I don't want you making money for money's sake. I want you to be productive for the sake of profitability. You can be productive by sitting down and hammering through that to-do list and checking a million boxes, but does that move the needle? So, how do we ensure that the things that you're doing, the work that you're putting in, the energy you're putting into your business, the stuff you are focused on drives the business forward?Resources: Show notes: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/episode173 If you're struggling with focus and productivity and want some help, download this FREE Focused Entrepreneur Playbook: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/focusedEat That Frog by Brian TracyConnect with me:Website: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/If there's a topic, a question or a guest you want to hear on the show or an idea you have for us, just reach out and share that at marketing@luminaryleadershipco.com.Connect with me on Instagram!Loved this episode? Today we are wrapping up our series on building your dream team by interviewing my lovely Operations Director Marieanna. We will find out what it is like to work with and support a visionary like me and the importance of us understanding each other so we can work together towards the company's mission. Many times, visionaries have a difficult time grasping the fact that they can actually find someone who is invested in their mission and willing to work with them to bring it to fruition. An integrator doesn't want to be the face or the visionary, they want to be there as a supporting member of the team, able to assist in building the dream. Whether it's a virtual assistant who's checking off boxes or a higher level strategic partner who is helping set the vision for three to five years, everyone should feel invested in the mission. So, in order to properly build and lead a team, the visionary must come from a place of leading and helping their team members build. There is a big difference between leading versus managing and if you have a visionary who believes in their team members, they'll be able to unlock potential that they didn't even know existed. It's not just about making a hire and hoping that person stays. It's about building a team and being willing to allow them to step into their potential, whether you have 1 person or 10 people on your team. So if you are ready to find out how an integrator can help with building your dream team, listen in!Resources:Show notes: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/episode171 If you are ready for your breakthrough and are seeking additional support, check out: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/mastermind/If you are interested in having access to templates, tools and resources to help you create your dream team, get on the waitlist here: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/leader Connect with me:Website: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/If there's a topic, a question or a guest you want to hear on the show or an idea you have for us, just reach out and share that at marketing@luminaryleadershipco.com.Connect with me on Instagram!Loved this episode? As a visionary entrepreneur, I have always been driven by the big picture and casting the vision for my business. However, I realized that in order to achieve true success and growth, I needed to have the right team and strategic partnership in place. This is why I am excited to be a part of this mini-series, where we will be discussing the importance of strategic partnership in entrepreneurship.Today, my lovely Operations Director, Marieanna, will be interviewing me to give a glimpse into the mind of a visionary and the obstacles we face when building and scaling a business. One of the biggest challenges I faced as a visionary was trying to do everything myself, from project management to hiring and handling the day-to-day details. I thought I could be the creator, CEO, and project manager all at once. However, I soon realized that this approach was unsustainable and hindering my business's growth. Even when I hired for these positions, I struggled with turnover and finding the right fit for my team, which caused more stress than growth. This is where strategic partnership comes in, and I believe it is crucial for entrepreneurs to understand the power of it. In this mini-series, we will be exploring how strategic partnership can help optimize your team and time, and ultimately lead to greater ease and faster growth for your business. Are you ready to get over a major hurdle? Many entrepreneurs face the challenge of not knowing how to work together cohesively with their right-hand person, whether they are a contractor, an OBM, an integrator, or even a spouse. This gap prevents them from achieving the wildest dreams that they have for their business. So, today we're talking about partnership and strategic collaboration between the visionary or the CEO and their right-hand person, who is usually responsible for bringing their ideas to life. You are going to learn how to build your dream team as an entrepreneur. I want to share my experiences and pull back the curtain on everything we have learned at the Luminary Leadership company, providing valuable insights and tips that can help entrepreneurs see more growth and success in their businesses. So, if you're feeling stuck in your growth, hit a financial plateau, or keep launching without achieving the expected results, it's time to gear up and take advantage of this opportunity to learn how to leverage that partnership in the best possible way. And just for the sake of just keeping it simple, I'll use the term integrator. What's an integrator? I'm using that term to blanket the person in the business who is the right hand, who is not necessarily the leader in the organization but they're more of that strategic brain; they're behind the scenes versus the visionary who is typically the founder of the business or the creator in the business. Okay, let's build your dream team!Resources:Show notes: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/episode169 If you are ready for your breakthrough and are seeking additional support, check out: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/mastermindIf you are interested in having access to templates, tools and resources to help you create your dream team, get on the waitlist here: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/leader Connect with me:Website: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/If there's a topic, a question or a guest you want to hear on the show or an idea you have for us, just reach out and share that at marketing@luminaryleadershipco.com.Connect with me on Instagram!Loved this episode? The fact that you have found success in business doesn't mean you won't struggle at times. In fact, that struggle that you might feel is often evidence of the contrary, it's evidence of the fact that you're on the brink of a breakthrough.Today I want to talk about something that is so pertinent to every entrepreneur on the face of planet Earth and that is imposter syndrome - specifically imposter syndrome in entrepreneurs who have already found success. Because if you've already found success as an entrepreneur, sometimes you have this added pressure of feeling like you shouldn't feel like an imposter because you've already done the thing. Your ego kicks in and it tries to protect you, leading you down a negative self sabotage and rabbit hole that isn't going to serve you in your growth. So, if you're an entrepreneur and a leader who knows that they're made for something beyond where they are today aka if you're ready for another level, but you can't seem to breakthrough, keep listening! If I had to pick one differentiator that propels entrepreneurs and their businesses forward instead of keeping them stuck in the muck and mire of just what comes with running a business, that would definitely be creating a visionary company culture. I have studied and watched successful entrepreneurs for years and one of the common things that I've seen across the board is that those who “made it” are the ones who've created a culture that is future thinking, instead of one that is reactionary and only dealing with what's right under their nose. Keep in mind that when I say company, it can mean just you and your spouse or you and your two contractors, or you and a small team of 5 to 10 people and that's okay. Because a culture starts with you alone.Resources:Show notes: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/episode167 Access the resources that will help you hire and onboard a team so you can create your own company culture: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/team Connect with me:Website: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/If there's a topic, a question or a guest you want to hear on the show or an idea you have for us, just reach out and share that at marketing@luminaryleadershipco.com.Connect with me on Instagram!Loved this episode? We had our 4th baby! For those of you who are wondering if I am officially 11 months pregnant, I'm here to tell you that I'm not - I had the baby. And I've been terrible about telling you about it! So today I want to share the birth story of our fourth child. It's always pretty vulnerable and a little overwhelming to share a birth story. To me, it's so personal. It is so private, so special and sacred. But at the same time, I love hearing from other moms their experiences, because I feel like that's what I attribute to my own growth and just understanding of what birth can be. Each time I have a baby, I feel so inspired by the process and I feel like I'm kind of born anew with this new baby. I also feel like we've learned so much over the years and the difference between what it was like when I had our firstborn, Jack, to this most recent birth has been like night and day. Both Michael and I have grown so much, we've learned so much about birth and the experience, we felt more empowered and more confident in making decisions that are right for us and our family and our children. I have been asked a lot of questions like: What was the birth experience like? Why did you choose a birth center? Tell us about the baby. What's the name? What's the gender? So, I am going to share a BIG time behind the scenes of a birth that I have never experienced before!Resources:Show notes: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/episode165 Go to luminaryleadershipco.com/tightenyourtinkler to get 50% off the Tighten Your Tinkler Signature program! Do you ever feel like it's Groundhog Day?Do you feel like you are doing the same thing over and over and can't see past today? You have vision, but you can't see how those dots connect. The common thread among entrepreneurs who feel the glory of that wholesome success in both their life's work and in their homes with the people they love, is that they are present in today without feeling stuck in the weeds and they are committed to building a future-focused business. So, where do you start? How do you unleash your entrepreneurial potential so you can have that successful future-focused business? If you are someone who's been in the business-building mode for a long time, but you are not sure if you're really setting yourself up for generational wealth and affluence, then this episode is for you!My guest in today's episode is financial wizard, Mel Abraham. Mel has bought and sold numerous multi-million dollar businesses for himself as well as his clients. He's worked alongside incredible people like Arianna Huffington, Brendon Burchard and Tony Robbins. He's a certified CPA who became a true financial expert. After a really scary cancer battle just a few years ago, Mel woke up to the idea of affluence and financial liberation for himself and for his family and that's what he's breathing into us today - this idea of how you can have your business AND you can strengthen your business. But what else is happening outside the walls of your business that is also providing freedom and possibility and cash flow into your world to set you up for wealth, legacy and possibility beyond the “right now?”Legacy starts right now. Building generational wealth starts now.Sometimes we think of it as this future thing, this concept that we're working really hard for right now, but we will have some day. This is why today's conversation is really going to wake you up, shake you up and open your mind to the possibility of how you're leading in business, how you're leading your family and what you're leaving behind. It's not just about money. "I feel spread too thin."This is a common thread that I hear across all my clients, listeners, mastermind members and really just in conversations with my peers and friends.A lot of entrepreneurs believe that with more time and success comes more peace and freedom. But there are people who have had many years under their belts and massive levels of success who still feel like they're being split in two. Many of them have the consciousness to create schedules that give them the space to be with family or to honor the things that matter, but they still feel pulled in too many directions. So, how do we break free of that feeling? Today, I'm walking you through what has helped me shift from that feeling of being spread too thin to having more capacity and to feel more intact and more at peace as I navigate a very full life. It is admittedly a work in progress but I have seen a lot of change that's breathing life back into my work and connection back into my relationships and I want to share it with you. You've heard me talk about it many times before but make sure you snag today's free resource because it's ultimately the nucleus of this whole process, you can go to snag it at https://luminaryleadershipco.com/truenorth. Welcome to one of the most intimate episodes I will ever share on the podcast! This particular episode is with one of THE most important people in my life. She is the person I credit for so much of who I am today and the one I am becoming. She is the one I turn to about everything from parenthood to marriage to business and everything in between because this episode is with the woman who raised me. Now my mom isn't just the average mom. If she were willing to share her résumé (which I try to drag out of her in the episode!), you would see that she is also a business mogul who has the most incredible credentials from being on the board and having been president of a bank to being a CPA running her own practice and having been an entrepreneur for over 40 years now. She is brilliant in business. So today's episode is really about servant leadership because she epitomizes what it means to be a servant leader and how that naturally magnetizes the right people into your life and into your business. How it yields so much fruit and beauty and joy in the process of becoming a business leader and how it creates a ripple effect that really transcends us, that becomes a piece of our legacy. She talks a lot about the ethics of business and how to really stand a part and not in the ways we are often taught in the industry. Today's episode will serve you in business beyond probably anything I've ever put out here. We've spent many months worried about inflation and a possible recession that may not ever happen. It would be terrific if we didn't have to concern ourselves with such things, but the economy affects everyone's business in one way or another. Today's guest on The Art Biz is Elaine Grogan Luttrull of Minerva Financial Arts, a company devoted to building financial literacy and empowerment in creative individuals through education and coaching. We recorded this episode several months ago when the economic landscape seemed a little bleaker than it does now. This is a lesson in economics and how your art business is affected by the larger economy. We define and discuss inflation, recession, the Consumer Price Index, and Gross Domestic Product. We talk about your revenue mix, why selling lower-priced items might not be the way to go right now, bundling, and raising your rates and prices. Have you been wondering where your inspiration went? Most of us get a start in our businesses feeling so inspired by the possibilities ahead of us. That's why we start in the first place. I'm going to give you a little hint - it is actually not about creating more hours in the day. I know you feel spread thin, I know you feel hurried, but the way out of it is not working more and it's not getting more things checked off your to-do list. That habit is only going to break you. It's gonna burn you out and it's going to keep you from stepping into the life you want and operating at optimal levels with peace, fulfillment and prosperity. Today, we're talking about a process that is going to help you become insanely more efficient without doing more work; to produce with prolificacy without spending more time doing it; to be more fulfilled and more present; less burn out and less hurried. This is the one. This is the episode you need. Trust me. I've had a few interviews that keep competing for my all time favorite and there's no doubt that this one is one of them. There's a reason why Patrice Washington was named one of the most inspiring voices in personal development (two times!) by Success Magazine, and there is a reason that in her years as America's Money Maven, Patrice became known across many circles as the go-to resource for financial possibility. In this interview, you get to witness the evolution of someone who didn't just step into what she was good at, but actually embraced who she was called to be, and the countless doors that have opened since stepping into that. She's doing things a little bit differently and it's making a massive impact!Today's episode took us in directions I didn't anticipate but I am so thankful it did. Patrice and I go over what it means to redefine wealth and chase purpose over money, how to heed God's call even when it's scary and the possibility that can really come from it when you listen to where you're being guided. Walking through heart wrenching hardships, bringing our children into the fray of entrepreneurship and leading them into purpose. This is one of the most powerful conversations I ever had!Resources:Show notes: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/episode155Patrice's website https://patricewashington.com/starthere/ Connect with Patrice on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/seekwisdompcw/ Redefining Wealth Podcast https://patricewashington.com/listen/Connect with me:Website: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/Follow along on my Sabbatical journey: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/insider If there's a topic, a question or a guest you want to hear on the show or an idea you have for us, just reach out and share that at marketing@luminaryleadershipco.com.Connect with me on Instagram!Loved this episode? Today's episode is all about stepping into a new season. What does it look like to consciously choose to craft a new season for your life, for your business? I believe life happens in seasons, but sometimes we get a little passive and allow those seasons to hit us when they may, instead of actually mapping them out and choosing to kick them off. If you've been in a season of rest, maybe it's time to hit the gas or if you've been in a season of constant work maybe it's time to lean into the season of family. If you've been in a season of hustle, perhaps it's your time to elevate into a season of strategy. In today's episode, I'm walking you through how I consciously shift from one season into the next, both in my life and my business and how I intentionally grow into leadership, new opportunities and our family's vision. Are you “running” your business; are you “running” your family? Well no more, because it's time to lead! This is your year to lead, so no more operating day-to-day or even quarter-to-quarter, no more spinning your wheels or constantly feeling behind, wondering what you need to do to move the dial.I'm not really into the whole New Year, New You thing because it doesn't really account for all the work that's required to become an elevated version of yourself. But I am behind making a shift from stressed-out-and-spread-thin business owner and parent into the leader you're called to be.So, today's episode is all about how to shift fully into leadership this year, how to choose to lead and what that looks like. If you are ready to step into your next level, to feel aligned and connected, to know you're in the right place, working towards the right things then this episode's for you.Resources:Show notes: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/episode153From Frazzled to Laser Focused Resource: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/focusedTrue North Workbook: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/truenorthConnect with me:Website: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/Follow along on my Sabbatical journey: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/insider If there's a topic, a question or a guest you want to hear on the show or an idea you have for us, just reach out and share that at marketing@luminaryleadershipco.com.Connect with me on Instagram!Loved this episode? It is time for a yearly review. To me, New Year's resolutions set an unrealistic expectation that things will be different just because the clock struck midnight, without acknowledging how to make them different. In a way, it's similar to the definition of insanity where we step into a new year with a new resolution, but we didn't change anything about ourselves. So, today's episode is one that's going to help you shift life on its axis, in the direction you actually feel called to go. You'll be able to see the fruits of your labor, you'll be able to see the change and evolution of yourself and your business by looking backwards to go forward. We're going to dissect last year and I'm going to teach you specific ways to peel back the layers on observing the last year so that you can actually build the year you want to live, that will take you into the long term vision that you have for your life. This year, don't just start planning and getting excited without making sure that you take the time to look at the last one and see how you can improve, tweak and develop in a way that is going to make the necessary turns to guide you towards where you actually want to go. And if you need some help with that, don't forget to do the True North exercise at https://luminaryleadershipco.com/truenorth/.Resources:Show notes: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/episode152True North Workbook: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/truenorthConnect with me:Website: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/Follow along on my Sabbatical journey: https://luminaryleadershipco.com/insider If there's a topic, a question or a guest you want to hear on the show or an idea you have for us, just reach out and share that at marketing@luminaryleadershipco.com.Loved this episode? As this year is coming to an end I'm sure you're already looking ahead, setting goals for the next year and talking about all the things you're going to do and accomplish. Today's episode is meant to encourage you to slow down a little bit. Slow down from that frame of thinking and spend a little bit more time thinking about who you want to be, and how you want to feel in this time that is fleeting. Turn off the “doing” for a second.Do not get me wrong - I love New year, the new energy and the gift of a new beginning as much as anyone but sometimes this serves as a crutch for people, one that ultimately sets them back. I have a habit of dreaming about what's next and how this year is going to be different, what my goals are going to be and just with the shifting of the calendar, I'm reinvigorated and reinspired. But the purpose of this episode is to help you realize that just setting goals isn't going to get you there, you have to slow down and become who you need to be in this next year in order to achieve your next level. Not too long ago, artists didn't have to worry about things like their brands. But in an increasingly competitive market, and the noisy online space, we will do better when we know where we fit. Your art is created in the studio, while your brand is created in the minds of viewers, buyers, collectors, gallerists, and curators. When you know your brand, you know how you want to be perceived in the eyes of others. Your brand helps you make decisions. If opportunities aren't aligned with your brand, you say no. My guest for this episode of The Art Biz is Alexandra Squire. She has a clear, intentional artist brand, and knew from the get-go what she wanted her business and career to look like. She hired professionals to help her pull together a branded identity to present her work to the world, and it has paid off. Alexandra and I talk about her decisions, marketing, and how she finds time for her painting and business while raising three young girls. Highlights Alexandra's long and winding road to becoming an artist. (3:25) “I looked at myself as a brand.” (7:09) Marketing yourself effectively. (11:26) Hiring professional help for your photography. (14:03) Your brand exists in the eye of the viewer. (18:42) Making the trade offs that pay off. (22:16) The moment when you identify your artist brand. (26:20) How Alexandra shows and sells her work. (28:15) Keeping an artist's schedule while raising a family. (33:38) This Week's Assignment Consider your artist brand. In particular, think about and even write in your journal about this one question: How do you want to be perceived in the minds of others? If you want to take it to the next step, consider whether your social media, newsletter, website, marketing material, and exhibition venues are aligned with how you want to be perceived. She focuses on blending and layering to make pieces that are rich in color and depth with unexpected palettes. Her paintings serve as a metaphor for life in that they depict the multitude of ways in which our experiences meld together. Alexandra's work has been exhibited nationally, and her paintings are a part of private and corporate collections throughout the United States.

Anyone can open up a gallery—real or virtual—and start selling art. I mean anyone. You don't have to hold a degree or pass a test. You don't have to have ethics or morals or know anything at all about art. But I am impressed by what UGallery is doing and the services they have been providing artists and clients since 2006. Everything about them feels different. On this episode of The Art Biz, I'm joined by Alex Farkas, founder of UGallery.com. Their business model is different from others in that online space. They know art. They curate the work so there aren't thousands of random artists competing for eyeballs. UGallery is paid on commission, so they only make money if art sells. They invest in marketing to help sell more art. They are looking for relationships with their artists and nurture their artists to help them sell better online. The focus of UGallery is on painting, but you should listen to their story even if you are not a painter because you need to know that there are people and companies out there who are on your side and doing things the right way. Highlights The beginnings of the UGallery journey. (2:53) Storytelling to promote UGallery artists and their work. (4:39) Curating art on the website in non-traditional ways. (7:19) The process of finding and connecting with artists. (11:05) Working with artists to help them succeed. (16:10) What is selling at UGallery? (19:09) Finding and marketing to clients. (20:36) Artist to customer—the order fulfillment process. (23:09) Maintaining ecommerce platforms and client relationships. (28:00) Mistakes that many artists make when applying to UGallery. (33:55) Tips for a better online presentation and ecommerce platform. (36:22) What's coming next for UGallery. (38:30) This Week's Assignment Assess where you show and sell your art. His love of art traces back to his hometown, Jerome, a tiny arts community in northern Arizona. Alex grew up creating sculptures in his uncle's woodworking studio and learning about the art business in his mother's gallery. He co-founded UGallery in 2006 with the goal of helping emerging artists connect with patrons. As one of the first ever online art galleries, UGallery significantly improved the opportunities available for artists. The gallery has been featured in the New York Times, Vogue, and Art in America. He currently lives, and UGallery is based, in San Francisco.
There's always plenty to be learned from artists who have been making a go of it for decades. Just think about how much has changed in 30 years! In this episode of The Art Biz, my guest is Willie Cole, a self-described perceptual engineer with an impressive list of collaborations under his belt and even more in the works. Together we talk about the faith he has in his work as a result of being consistent throughout the years. And why he says work is a bad word and prefers to approach his studio in the spirit of play. We discussed his art and why he challenges people to perceive recognizable objects, like shoes and musical instruments, in new ways. You'll hear how one of his Instagram posts—where he mocked up his art as if to appear on the cover of Vogue—led to collaborations with major fashion brands. Such opportunities continue coming his way, which might be the result of his faith in his practice. Spoiler: Visualizing success plays a role. Highlights Willie calls himself a perceptual engineer, but what exactly does that mean? (3:12) The importance (if any) of showing the materials Willie uses to create his work, including 75 cut up guitars. (5:35) “Planning makes it feel too much like a job.” How Willie approaches his work instead. (11:02) A peek inside Willie's studio. An artist's best resource is another artist. And to really know what a real artist's life looks like on a daily basis, you have to study and talk to those artists. You can read their biographies, watch their videos, and listen to them on podcasts, including this one. In this episode of The Art Biz, I talk with Geoffrey Gorman about what it's like to be a working artist, an identity he came to later in life and has sustained for nearly two decades. Geoffrey and I discuss his background as a furniture maker, gallery dealer, and artist consultant and how each role has contributed to his life as an artist. He also reveals how he approaches his work, where he finds inspiration, his take on how the art world is changing, and his advice to artists in the rapidly-evolving market. Highlights “You can make something from anything.” The evolution of Geoffrey's process. (2:35) Journeying back into the arts after a 30-year break. If you have ever wanted to shoot the breeze with a gallerist, you will want to pay close attention to this episode of The Art Biz. I'm joined today by Jeremy Tessmer, the gallery director at Sullivan Goss Gallery in Santa Barbara, California. In our conversation, Jeremy shares his views of artist's professionalism, what he thinks of online platforms, and how he taught himself art history (and why that was important to him). Jeremy describes Sullivan Goss as an on-ramp for collectors and artists—one that connects their roster of local, regional, national, and international artists. You'll hear him discuss 3 qualities that he looks for in artists, two of which are non-negotiable, and how he views the artists in his gallery as a family. He says that “dealers should have some sense of responsibility for the well-being of their artists,” and, as you listen to our conversation, you'll understand why that has become so important to him. Highlights The niche that the Sullivan Goss Gallery fills and Jeremy's role within it. (2:37) Sullivan Goss is an on-ramp gallery with the aim of expanding the art world. We usually start a long-term project with a specific goal or set of expectations in mind. Rarely does the project turn out the way we thought it would. More often than not, it's better than we had imagined. But before we can get to that point of admitting that the change might have actually led to an improvement in the original plan, we have to struggle, to question our assumptions or to ask for more help or more money. We recognize we can't continue working in the same fashion as before, and often we are forced to adjust to outside forces, like a worldwide pandemic. In this episode of The Art Biz, I'm joined again by Eve Jacobs-Carnahan. She was a podcast guest over a year ago and has come back to offer an update on her project, Knit Democracy Together, which was developed to discuss the U.S. electoral system within the context of knitting circles. Today Eve is sharing a look at how such a long-term project evolves. She outlines the 5 indicators she is using to measure effectiveness, and even if you don't have an art project focused on making a social impact, these indicators will be useful for appraising the successful reach of your exhibition, event, program, or teaching. Highlights “It all took on a new significance.” Eve's project changed after the 2020 election. (4:27) The reasons behind improvements in the knitting circle. Some artists just know what they want, and some know what they don't want. My guest for this episode has a lot of clarity about both. On this episode of The Art Biz, I'm talking with Alicia Goodwin, who worked as a jewelry designer for a number of individuals and companies before transitioning to her own full time jewelry business, Lingua Nigra. As an encourager, Alicia wants artists to go for it. She doesn't believe in even considering a plan B in case the art thing doesn't work out. She encourages artists to “find your people” because she knows what it's like to be an artist and misunderstood by those closest to you. She found support in an online community filled with people who were making things and talking about business. Even if you're not a jewelry artist, I know you will be inspired by Alicia's desire to continually improve her circumstances and grow her business. You especially won't want to miss her insights into finding the right balance in your online presence. As she says, “You don't need a lot of followers to make a lot of sales.” Highlights “I was always plotting for the next thing.” (2:44) Alicia's transition from FIT to in-demand jewelry artist. (10:56) Finding the people who share your passion. (19:05) The origin story of Lingua Nigra (24:48) Alicia's forgiving etching and molding processes. (28:50) What is considered costume jewelry? (33:31) Alicia encourages ambitious artists to just get started. (37:30) Taking the first step toward your next big thing. (42:05) Finding a mentor, a support group, and the right sales outlets for your business. (48:50) Growing your studio and your team to match your big ideas. A graduate of New York's Fashion Institute of Technology., Alicia applies her knowledge of ancient techniques like reticulation and acid etching to her more contemporary designs. Her love of complex ancient ceremonial jewelry created with minimal tools such as fire, sand and beeswax led her to truly admire the work produced throughout Mesoamerica and the African diaspora—influencing her own brand, Lingua Nigra. Have you ever experienced success in any area and then realized it wasn't exactly what you wanted after all? My guest today experienced unexpected and surprising growth as her Instagram following quickly grew from 10,000 followers to over 70,000 followers in just a few years. In this episode of The Art Biz, I'm talking to Sara Schroeder. We talk about the creative way that she overcame her fear of selling and what she wishes she had known to do differently while in the throes of that success. For more than a year, Sara has been using tools like journaling and the Enneagram to discover more about herself and explore where she wants her work to go, and now she's looking for more. She knows there's a deeper level of fulfillment beyond posting and looking for sales online, so she has stepped back and reassessed. You'll hear Sara mention her upcoming solo show, which is part of a challenge that I issue to students in my seasonal programs. We also discuss why her Instagram strategy has changed and what her new approaches for Instagram and marketing in general. Highlights “I fell in love with making art all over again.” (2:00) The value of finding a dedicated space for your art. (7:11) The difference between Sara's maximum and minimal art. (10:18) Sara's success on Instagram took off and quickly became overwhelming. (12:20) When app demands take over making artwork. (18:55) The evolution of Sara's work since pulling back from Instagram. (24:07) The process of self discovery through journaling, meditating, and the Enneagram. (28:01) Details of Sara's latest 100-piece collection. (32:00) How Sara would have handled her initial success and systems differently. (34:49) Sara's modified Instagram presence and increased in-person collaborations. (39:47) Sara's typical work week and why she starts work at 11 AM. Works on canvas and paper feature drips, swipes, scratching, and subtraction methods, which build upon one another to form abstractions of nature. She finds inspiration in the potent hues of tropical plant life and the subdued pastel motifs of the Art Deco period preserved in Miami. Identifying with Kandinsky's belief that color influences the soul, Sara's process incorporates the psychology of color, intuition, and chance. Integrating into her work what psychotherapist Carl Rogers called “unconditional positive regard”, she aims to inspire rich revelations and encounters of the human spirit. Her works are held nationally and around the world in hundreds of private collections.
You are not alone. It may seem like you are at times because you do so much work by yourself in the studio, but the art ecosystem is enormous and you are not alone. There are so many good people who are advocating on behalf of and supporting artists in their businesses and careers. I want you to know about these resources so that you can tap into them. They're waiting for you. In this episode of The Art Biz, I'm talking with Louise Martorano, the Executive Director at RedLine Contemporary Art Center in Denver, Colorado. RedLine is a nonprofit whose mission is to foster “education and engagement between artists and communities to create positive social change.” In many ways, RedLine behaves like a traditional arts council. But they're far from it. Louise and I discuss their artist-in-residence program, affordable studio space, and how they collaborate with other art organizations in the U.S. and beyond. Highlights The history and mission of RedLine Contemporary Art Center. (1:45) The local and global need for artist career support. Welcome to the 100th episode of The Art Biz! In this milestone episode, the tables are turned as I become the guest of host Cynthia Morris. Cynthia was one of the first guests on my second attempt at this podcast, and I have learned so much from her wit and wisdom. In our conversation, Cynthia is set on helping me not only celebrate this important milestone but also reflect on just how far this podcast has come and what it took to get it where it is today. More than just a self-congratulatory episode, together we discuss the value of acknowledging your progress, however imperfect it may be. We share what it takes to do the work, create the content, and develop the tenacity that results in milestones worth celebrating. Highlights Why should you take time to celebrate milestones? (0:07) Alyson reflects on the progress she has achieved at this milestone podcast episode 100. (2:16) Fumbling your way toward success means just doing it! This is a conversation for white women about our role and privilege in a racist and white supremacist society and the work *we* need to do. As Kamala Harris said in a recent tweet: “The deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor are not isolated incidents. They are the result of systematic racism that has existed for generations.” I’ve seen on social media from white women that they’re uncertain and scared about what to say. Yes, it can feel risky to speak up, to say something, to not be silent. But, our speaking up is *nothing* compared to the risk that Black women and men face every day. It’s the very least we can do - and it’s not enough. Saying “I’m not racist” isn’t enough. As white women, there's much work for us to do to recognize how we benefit from and uphold racism - and then do something about it. 'Ally' is a verb, not a noun (as I’ve learned from Black women who do anti-racism education). In this episode, Diane Diaz and I talk about the work of anti-racism as white women. “Anti-racism is the active process of identifying and eliminating racism by changing systems, organizational structures, policies and practices and attitudes, so that power is redistributed and shared equitably." - NAC International Perspectives: Women and Global Solidarity - http://www.aclrc.com/antiracism-defined “Speaking Your Brand” is about more than your business and marketing message; it’s who you are and what you value - and what you explicitly tell and show to the world about what matters and what you’re willing to do. Our starting place for our own work as white women is the book “Me and White Supremacy” by Layla F. Saad. I highly recommend you purchase her book and work through it. We’re going to be doing so with our clients. As white women, we need to: Recognize our privilege - and be willing to lose it Understand that we have unconscious bias Learn the history of how integral racial hierarchy and slavery were to the U.S. constitution and our capitalist economic system - and how it continues to this day Be aware of what’s going on in the news Call out racist talk Take risks, including potentially losing revenue and opportunities Listen and learn Speak up, but not over Be more than intentional - be explicit Lift up the voices of Black women and women of color Purchase from Black-owned businesses Direct people to Black women who are doing this work Vote for candidates who advocate for marginalized groups We welcome your questions and thoughts about this episode. In this episode of the More Members Now Podcast, we continue to discuss the O-R-E-O Strategy to get and keep more members by leveraging the resources we have in our memberships.
#148 — During times of stress, everyone responds differently. Some of us laugh, some of us go into denial, some of us get agitated, some of us panic, some of us get to work. If you’re feeling a bit all over the place, I want to talk about how stress affects each of us differently and why these reactions are coming up. As you start to see how we each respond to stress, you can also start to see how the weird ways your coworkers and partners are reacting might actually be a perfectly normal response… it’s just different than how you respond to stress. This is another brief(ish) episode recorded from our studio in New York City during the March 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. At the time of this recording, my family and I are in self-isolation in New York City and we have not left the apartment in 14 days. It’s been interesting, to say the least! You will hear noises of my children in the background, and yes, there are times when I completely lose my train of thought. This is the new normal right now, and I’m right there alongside all of you. If you’re feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, fatigued, panicked, irritated, inspired, or like you need to crack inappropriate jokes, you’re not alone. Feelings are big right now and get magnified during times of stress. A few tips on dealing with feelings are: Listen to them and acknowledge them. Know that they don’t want to stay forever, they just want to be heard right now. Describe your feelings as physical symptoms—describe where they are in your body and what your body does with those feelings. Start a journaling practice—it can be so incredibly soothing and helpful for the mind. Try a body scan meditation. Most of all, know that your feelings are a normal reaction to stress and that you don’t have to DO anything right now to get rid of them. You can simply feel them and seek to understand them. ASK YOUR QUESTION ABOUT MARRIAGE: 1.615.592.1060 They are getting married, Why should they stop having sex? this post contains affiliate links On the Show Today: Thanksgiving just happened. Cool Serving a local ministry for underprivileged kids Not too crazy on Thanksgiving. Listener Question: I wanted to hear your thoughts on this. My boyfriend and I have had pre-marital sex, we live together, and are planning on getting married when we finish at university. We haven't been with anybody else (each others "first"). People have told me we should stop, which is hard to do, but for me its harder because I don't see the reason why. If I stop having sex for a couple years, til I get married that doesn't make me a virgin. It also doesn't change the fact that we have had sex. Does God care more that we stop for 2 years, or if we make love based out of LOVE not LUST. I just don't see what would change if we stopped having sex for our engagement. In irder to be a prtner for FLexHR you mustr have over 20 years senior HR leadership experience. Phil has over 30 years experience with comapny's like GE and Pitney-Bowes, so he knows his stuff. He explined to us that today Human Resources compliance can be expensive and complicated. Employers today need a resource to help them be sure they are getting the most for the money they spend and the most from the employees they hire and FlexHR provides both. He said "We look at things from both the employer’s point of view and the employee’ point of view and, we provide both tactical and strategic HR in ways that will benefit your bottom line." For more information please go to their website www.flexhr.com and look up Phil. He'll be glad to answer any of your questions.Next up we had on Tim McLellan, CPA with B2B CFO. Tim explained that every company, regardless of its size, needs a Chief Financial Officer. And since partners with B2B CFO work on a contract basis having a CFO is now affordable to most businesses. He said that they typically work with owners of emerging and mid-market companies with revenues up to $75 million who want to increase cash, profitability, sales and company value. He himself spends half his time working with start-ups and the rest with established businesses. He explained that each has their own set of unique challenges.
