In this deeply moving episode of Invisible Scars, Jessalynn sits down with grief expert and widowed mom coach, Krista St-Germain, to unravel the complex and often misunderstood experience of grief. From the sudden, tragic loss of her husband to building a powerful coaching practice that helps others navigate their own pain, Krista shares how grief is not just about death—it's about any loss that disrupts our sense of self and safety.Together, Jessalynn and Krista discuss why the five stages of grief don't apply to most people, how trauma and grief live in our bodies, and why healing is not about "getting over it"—but learning to live alongside the pain. This conversation will speak to anyone who has felt stuck in their grief, questioned their healing, or struggled with feeling like their pain wasn't "big enough" to matter. You'll learn about tools like tapping, the importance of nervous system regulation, and how connection and community can play a transformative role in the healing process. Whether you're grieving a person, a past, or a part of yourself—you are not alone, and this episode will leave you feeling seen, supported, and hopeful.Connect with Krista St-Germain:Website: www.coachingwithkrista.comInstagram: @lifecoachkristaPodcast: The Widowed Mom Podcast — Listen on Apple Podcasts | Listen on Spotify✨ Thank you for tuning in to this episode of Invisible Scars! ✨ If you enjoyed this conversation, make sure to subscribe, rate, and review the podcast—it helps us reach more people who need these stories.

Carrie is also a co-editor at the illustrious arts theory journal October. Her current research is on 30 years of fiction presented as fact in contemporary art, asking what happens when artworks deceive their audiences? What do the experiences of artists' trickery teach about contemporary ways of knowing? Bayern Munich kicked off its second match in five days and it did so (surprisingly) with the exact same lineup that Julian Nagelsmann rolled out against RB Leipzig last Friday. Maybe surprising, maybe not, the starting XI was not all that effective the second time around as the squad's battled to a 1-1 draw. Let's take a look at what we have on tap for this episode: A quick look at the lineup and its lack of effectiveness. Joshua Kimmich's blast saves Bayern Munich from dropping points, but it is also clear Bayern Munich still needs Thomas Müller. Why there is no reason to worry, but also why fans should be at least a little bit frustrated at the lack of cohesion on the squad. Some thoughts on where Bayern Munich is as a squad right now and where the team could be heading. Listen below or at Spotify: Thank you for all the support! Leggy and Daniel revisit the topic of breakups in this week's episode of 2 LADS, but first they check in with Daniel at an 8 while working on location in South Africa and Leggy at a 7.5 and discussing some recent activity on social media and concluding that the podcast won't be for everybody. Then the 2 LADS get back into breakups—a conversation they started earlier in the season—and how they believe you can use the pain of breakups to build yourself up stronger. They also discuss going into relationships consciously trusting that you'll be ok even if it doesn't work out, being so dialed you don't want a relationship and Daniel's journey to getting to know his body better.  The https://the2lads.com/ (2 LADS podcast) tackles big topics with brutal honesty and vulnerability; replacing shame and guilt with truth and love in the quest for emotional and spiritual growth. These conversations are unflinching, uncomfortable, funny... and ongoing.  JUMP STRAIGHT INTO: (01:50) - The check in - “It's not going to be for everybody, this. And you get to decide whether you enjoy it or you don't, and we're down for it all.” (14:20) - Expecting every need from one person - “These are the building blocks of you being a fucking man in the world or being a functioning adult. You've got all these basics covered so that you can actually enter into a relationship with someone else on a higher level.” (17:25) - Breakups can build you back up - “When you're in it, it feels like hell and it will last forever, but there's building blocks that get built up over time and they reprogram your brain to feel much more supported.” (26:16) - Picking and choosing - “It's like five of your girlfriend are on this carousel, and one of them, you love, right? And you're like, ‘I like that one, that one, but only be that. I don't like any of this other stuff. I want you to change all this other stuff.” (29:15) - Being too dialed for a relationship - “Ultimately, in order to love, you have to risk getting hurt. You can't do it any other way. You have to know that you can be open and accept love, and know that you are going to survive it if that goes away.” (30:33) - Sit in your feelings - “Your relationship to love and sex is skewed in some way, because it is giving you the endorphins of not feeling your feelings. So if you take it away, then  it comes to the forefront of your mind.” (37:06) - The green light of approval - “Even the act of going into a program, it was about approval, you know, because in some way I did it to prove it to somebody.” RESOURCES: Connect w/ Daniel on https://www.instagram.com/danielsharman/ (Instagram), https://twitter.com/daniel_sharman (Twitter) and https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1528476/ (IMDB) Connect w/ Leggy on https://www.instagram.com/leggylangdon/ (Instagram) and https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1Aw91qm9YH0DQF8vsOKMM1?si=d435ebe70b284ad4 (Spotify) Thank you for listening! Donna gets the pair to open up about their upbringing, life experiences, emotional growth, spiritual wellness, and the importance of intimacy and community building for men. After catching up on what they've been doing since their last check in—journeying, seeing psychics, visiting family, and filming on location among other things—Leggy and Daniel revisit the topic of love in this episode. This time they focus a little more on the unconditional variety and discuss whether love without expectations is even truly achievable or not and how Jesus, their dogs and glory supporters relate. The LADS also discuss what it means to ‘live in love' and determine that we're all nuts and we'd be better off if we'd just lead with that.  The https://the2lads.com/ (2 LADS podcast) tackles big topics with brutal honesty and vulnerability; replacing shame and guilt with truth and love in the quest for emotional and spiritual growth. I am confused. That's the truth.” (21:46) - Unconditional love and what Jesus taught - “You are expecting something in return and that's pernicious and unhelpful.” (23:21) - On parental love - “Discipline I believe in, but not discipline for discipline's sake. You have to have a person understand why that's happening to them right now.” (28:09) -  What love feels like, physically - “The reason I'm asking you and badgering you about what love feels like is because I'm beginning to get the reference point of what it feels like in your body.” (32:33) -  Love is not for the glory supporters - “If I'm on the front lines with someone, I want to be with someone that is fucking right there with me, giving it to me straight. The whole thing.” (37:22) - Spreading love out - “If you have deep intimate relationships in your friendships, then you get so much out of that, that the requirement for the romantic side of your life is less, actually.” (41:19) - Living in love - “Taking the time at any point in your life to do things slowly and to understand what's going on with you is one of the most loving things you can do.” RESOURCES: Connect w/ Daniel on https://www.instagram.com/danielsharman/ (Instagram), https://twitter.com/daniel_sharman (Twitter) and https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1528476/ (IMDB) Connect w/ Leggy on https://www.instagram.com/leggylangdon/ (Instagram) and https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1Aw91qm9YH0DQF8vsOKMM1?si=d435ebe70b284ad4 (Spotify) Thank you for listening! To say that dating apps are the same as meeting someone in real life is bollocks according to the 2 LADS. We learned that last week in the first part of their discussion on online dating. So go back and have a listen to that now if you missed it. Then come settle in for the second part of the discussion where Leggy gets into his personal experience with dating apps, Daniel recounts a few more adventures from his own online dating days and the LADS continue to work through why they believe dating apps are all taste and no substance, like having a big mac over a quinoa bowl.   The https://the2lads.com/ (2 LADS podcast) tackles big topics with brutal honesty and vulnerability; replacing shame and guilt with truth and love in the quest for emotional and spiritual growth. These conversations are unflinching, uncomfortable, funny... and ongoing.  JUMP STRAIGHT INTO: (01:52) - The ritual of meeting people IRL - “That process is a needed and necessary part of intimacy.” (04:01) - Leggy on dating apps - “I was giving it too much credit, the app world.” (13:38) - Women and dating apps - “Women now, I think they'd rather you meet them on the app.” (15:18) - Daniel's dating app shenanigans - “I knew it was getting bad.” (17:05) - Keys to the kingdom - “If you could hand that to anyone, they would want it initially, and then they would go, ‘I don't want this anymore.'” (19:53) - Addiction based - “These people that are making these apps are very very smart. And it's all built into the system for you to pay to get the hit, to get the dopamine hit, to get more likes, get more appreciation. All from the comfort of your fucking armchair.” (23:04) - Autonomizing our humanity - “We're outsourcing the ability to be intimate.” (24:15) - We need our own village - “You need your own village, a small amount of people that can hold you accountable.” RESOURCES: Connect w/ Daniel on https://www.instagram.com/danielsharman/ (Instagram), https://twitter.com/daniel_sharman (Twitter) and https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1528476/ (IMDB) Connect w/ Leggy on https://www.instagram.com/leggylangdon/ (Instagram) and https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1Aw91qm9YH0DQF8vsOKMM1?si=d435ebe70b284ad4 (Spotify) Thank you for listening! And actually your body, it always tells you the truth.”  (17:50) - Things that are ‘woo woo' - “We have a tendency as human beings to make up narratives if we can't explain something. It's like the placebo effect, right? Very often we can make things up in our heads and empirical data often allows you to make much clearer decisions.” (18:47) - Music as a metaphor for how we look at the world - “You can either go to a concert and spend a lot of time listening to cat guts being drawn against horse hair creating vibrations, or you can go and listen to a violin play a beautiful concerto. And both are true.” (21:39) -  Leggy's patterns in relationships - “If it's just you in a room, then you're a genius, you know? Because there's no potential pushback.” (32:55) - Bonus Question for Patrons - “Where are your limitations in a relationship? How do they come up and how do they manifest?” (35:01) - Daniel on dating apps - “Dating apps essentially remove the discomfort of that rite of passage, accountability and putting yourself out there.” (46:12) - The objectification and projection that dating apps proliferate - “You can't possibly read the energy of a person when you're just looking at pictures.” (47:31) - The unlimited access that dating apps offer - “It's like an all-you-can-eat buffet. In the second part of Daniel and Leggy's discussion on judgement, the 2 LADS conclude that judgement can be a dead end in any relationship, then they talk through ways to recognize when and why we are judging a situation in order to find a healthier and more productive pathway forward. They also explain why they believe it's important to investigate where our own judgment comes from and recognize that we all have the capacity to do the things we're judging. Daniel sums up his thoughts saying, “You're always a foot away from the ditch.” And Leggy offers some closing advice: “Keep checking yourself before you're wrecking yourself, brothers and sisters.” The https://the2lads.com/ (2 LADS podcast) tackles big topics with brutal honesty and vulnerability; replacing shame and guilt with truth and love in the quest for emotional and spiritual growth. Once it has come down, that's where it ends. Whereas accountability is more ongoing.” (09:42) - The Big Ugly and projecting - “It's pretty rare where you can just find a human that hasn't got any Skeletons in the closet.” (14:10) - The real power of non-judgement - “I want to be a person that you can come to with anything.”   (18:00) - Baggage and wounds - “We've all got this problem, which is life is fucking painful and really ruinous. And we all are trying to figure out the best strategies and some people's strategies are more socially acceptable.” (22:22) - The relationship between judgement and control - “We put all these things up that make us think we're in control of the universe. Then a fucking hurricane comes and your whole house blows up.” (24:31) - Insecurity begets judgement - “Really secure people, they're really interesting in how they deal with the world. I've always admired that they don't have that judgment.” (30:20) - Self judgment and the judgment paradox - “There is an element of like your judgment doesn't matter, but then it also does to keep you in society a little bit.” (34:36) - Judgment needs to be looked at more closely - “You've just got to keep investigating it and keep accessing your humanity in order to understand that you are the same as everybody else and you also have the capacity to do those things.” RESOURCES: Connect w/ Daniel on https://www.instagram.com/danielsharman/ (Instagram), https://twitter.com/daniel_sharman (Twitter) and https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1528476/ (IMDB) Connect w/ Leggy on https://www.instagram.com/leggylangdon/ (Instagram) and https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1Aw91qm9YH0DQF8vsOKMM1?si=d435ebe70b284ad4 (Spotify) Thank you for listening! The 2 LADS also talk about the role pain and trauma play in addiction and the pattern of seeking short-term relief over truly facing trauma and healing the pain that comes from it. A lot of people are not trusting you. You probably own people money. You've let people down. Everyone's sick of you, right? You go into an AA room and they welcome you in and they treat you like a human.” (30:42) - On self protection - “It's about commitment. To know that you can commit to something and give it your all and not hedge your bets because the hedging of the bets is part of a fear of the failure.”  (34:04) - Connection is a path to healing - “The tribe we're trying to evolve as will only get better with knowledge of self-love. And the addictions that we're all in will only be healed by vulnerability, honesty and transparency.”  (36:20) - It's easier to stay where you're at and not grow - “It really is hard. And every time we go through a layer, there is another layer. It's ongoing.” (37:13) - Addiction affects everything - “Everything that we do, there's this addiction thing attached to it. In this episode of 2 LADS, Daniel and Leggy walk us through a recent conflict they had while on holiday—not in Wales—in an effort to break down how tricky conflict can be and how important it is to set our weapons down and get back to loving each other. Daniel also discusses the dilemma he sees between being agreeable and being untrustworthy. Leggy talks about what's usually going on on the surface versus the feelings you don't even realize you're experiencing in real time. And they both agree that we often build up stories about others in order to justify our negative feelings. The 2 LADS eventually conclude that you can get past conflict and even grow from it, tyrants and lads on tour included. Their final take-away being to always bring a life coach on holiday. Mystery is more interesting than the facts.”  (14:01) - Conflict can strengthen a relationship - “With us, the more conflict we have, the more I trust you. The more I trust our friendship.” (16:11) - Conflict to get your way in the world - “Is being aggressive wrong all the time? Is conflict wrong? No, it's not. It's just when to use it, and is it serving you?” (19:02) - Deescalating conflict - “The idea of expressing any vulnerability is really scary and very difficult, and yet it's the only thing that will deescalate the problem.” (20:34) - Daniel and Leggy's holiday conflict, an example of conflict - “You were looking at a tyrant and it was your job to fight him?” (25:23) - The conscious vs. the unconscious - “That's another fucking minefield that you're dealing with where you might be pissed off at me for something that you don't even know that you're pissed off about.” (27:19) - The stories we tell ourselves - “If you see someone day to day and you're in a relationship with them, you start to see their humanity. Their good parts. Their bad parts. But you have a relationship with them that means that the stories don't build up.” (31:51) - Getting on the same page - “This is where it's hard because you want it to be dialed. You know?” (23:46) - Why people are apprehensive about Journeying - “I also understand the idea of like, ‘There's so much darkness in me that I don't want to go there.' But it doesn't do it in a way that is about you not being able to feel or receive it.” (25:45) - The free, childlike state that can come from psychedelics - “As adults, we're all going mental all the time. We're just trying to ‘achieve, achieve, achieve.' We're trying to get to this never ending place of success, whatever that means. The 2 LADS know only too well that breakups are often painful, yet present opportunities to grow. In this episode, Leggy discusses a particularly traumatic breakup and Daniel talks about his experience in a 12-step program for sex and love. They also get into how we can use the pain as a roadmap to healing; and how we need to determine our “terms” in order to show up better in relationships. As Leggy says, “breakups give you a window of opportunity to reflect on what went wrong and use that to grow and enter into healthier relationships in the future.” The https://the2lads.com/ (2 LADS podcast) tackles big topics with brutal honesty and vulnerability; replacing shame and guilt with truth and love in the quest for emotional and spiritual growth. These conversations are unflinching, uncomfortable, funny... and ongoing.  JUMP STRAIGHT INTO: (02:23) - The breakup that led to Daniel and Leggy's friendship - “I'd had lots of breakups before, and you had a marriage end, but there's one breakup in your life where you can't avoid the pain anymore.” (03:46) - Breakups can be an opportunity to learn important lessons about yourself - “Every time we go through a breakup, it means something's not worked. We've got ourselves into a situation. It has ended, right? And there's a window of opportunity at that moment of breakup where you get to reflect.” (07:09) - Falling into bad patterns in relationships - “I bounced from relationship to relationship and I had always thought, ‘Well it's because I haven't found the right person.' I'd never asked myself, ‘Why am I attracted to the things that I'm attracted to?'” (12:12) - How difficult breakups can be - “I've talked to people who were in a lot of different twelve step programs and a great deal of them say of all things to come off of, sex and love is by far the hardest.” (13:05) - Trying to ignore pain - “I've had all the addictions in my life. I've done extensive research on most addictions. It all comes down to pain management and understanding that pain is part of the game, you know? And we didn't get taught that. I didn't. I got taught that you're not supposed to feel pain. So whenever it comes up, do whatever you can to get rid of it as quickly as possible, rather than understand that that pain is there to teach you something.” (14:09) - A healthier way to enter into relationships - “If you're a person like I have been that hasn't had a solid sense of self, a strong sense of self, where I'm like, ‘I'm drawing the line here. This is who I am. This is what I believe. These are my values. Let's do it.' I've never entered into a relationship from that position.” (15:41) - Leggy's traumatic breakup - “It is death, but in a weird way, in some ways, worse than death because this person is choosing to be gone from your life.” (19:49) - Figuring out your terms - “When people say, ‘You can't love somebody until you love yourself,' I remember just thinking, ‘What a load of bollocks. I don't understand what that means.'” (25:50) - Love can be more about you than the other person - “I can't even ever know what she felt, even if it was true or not. It doesn't matter. What matters is… me. I felt like I was in love. I also felt like I was in a lot of pain. Everything that I went through was my experience. And it was what I chose to do, unconsciously chose it due to my own place in my life at that time where I was completely unaware of all of these unhealed sections of myself.” RESOURCES: Connect w/ Daniel on https://www.instagram.com/danielsharman/ (Instagram), https://twitter.com/daniel_sharman (Twitter) and https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1528476/ (IMDB) Connect w/ Leggy on https://www.instagram.com/leggylangdon/ (Instagram) and https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1Aw91qm9YH0DQF8vsOKMM1?si=d435ebe70b284ad4 (Spotify) Thank you for listening! Let's talk about sex. Discussing their own sexual journeys from young lads to now, Leggy & Daniel touch on what factors have influenced their sexual experiences over time; including shame, drugs, and loneliness. This is an extremely honest conversation between 2 LADS.  The https://the2lads.com/ (2 LADS podcast) tackles big topics with brutal honesty and vulnerability; replacing shame and guilt with truth and love in the quest for emotional and spiritual growth. These conversations are unflinching, uncomfortable, funny... and ongoing. JUMP STRAIGHT INTO: (03:27) - Discovering sex - “I would be on the bus going to school, and I couldn't get off at the stop because the bumps would cause me to have an erection.”  (08:51) - Sex and shame - “It's part of the human experience, and it's so close to the shadows and the darkness and the shame. It's such a tragedy that we all get lost in that. Sex, sexuality, the shadow, all of these things are all linked.”  (09:51) - Enjoying sex - “There's something about the feeling being so good—as in so complete—that feels very close to feeling like you shouldn't be that free.” (10:47) - A confusing and lonely journey - “You can't talk to your parents about it. It's hard to even really talk to your mates about it. So you're having these monumental, life-changing experiences on your own without too much information about it.” (18:32) - Instant gratification - “Sometimes I'm still adolecent in regards to sex in that the gratification becomes very important very quickly.” (20:27) - Struggling with sex while sober - “The first relationship I had after getting sober was a long-term relationship, and that was difficult for me to show up sexually, because what I associated my high sexuality with was bad behavior. So when I got sober, for example, from drugs and alcohol, my promiscuity also went out with all that.” (23:01) - Sex can be about different things - “There's different kinds of sex. There's sex with someone that you're in love with, and then there's disconnected sex.” (25:06) - Extreme sex - “It would be like diving into a pool of skittles and then just opening your mouth and swimming. Like, ‘What flavor is that?' It doesn't matter. There's strawberry. There's all the flavors happening all at once.”  (28:51) - Sex and connection - “Ultimately, I think that the deepest sexual experiences come when you do have a spiritual and emotional connection. That's the goal. That's the hope. There's fear around that as well, because you're being seen by someone that you are intimately connected to.” (29:21) - Sex is the crux of everything in the world - “Everything that's been made is so that somebody could have sex with somebody else, ‘We are making these objects, so that I can make a profit to make money so that I can have more sexual partners.'” RESOURCES: Connect w/ Daniel on https://www.instagram.com/danielsharman/ (Instagram), https://twitter.com/daniel_sharman (Twitter) and https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1528476/ (IMDB) Connect w/ Leggy on https://www.instagram.com/leggylangdon/ (Instagram) and https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1Aw91qm9YH0DQF8vsOKMM1?si=d435ebe70b284ad4 (Spotify) Thank you for listening! It's why we feel pain. If we've got a cut on our arm, if you prod it, you go, ‘Oh, there's the cut. Got to deal with that now.” (22:01) - Why intimate relationships among men are so important - “Men are so safe when they're in this space. They're strong. They protect you. They are compassionate.” (26:39) - How men typically express their emotions - “The way that we process that emotion, it tends to come out physically rather than in an articulated way, which isn't useful if we're just like losing it with people and just like punching lads in the face and yelling at our girlfriends.” (28:21) - We're all capable of good and bad - “We are capable of great love and beauty and joy and great horror and malevolence. That is the human condition. We're all dealt those cards.” (31:51) - What courage looks like - “Being courageous is saying we're not always going to get every subject right. The 2 LADS Podcast

In this episode of 2 LADS, Leggy and Daniel talk about the not-so-small topic of love. From learning to see beyond the singular expectations that Hollywood and the media set out for us to finding the right balance between passion and compatibility, the 2 LADS ultimately conclude that the movie version of love covers just one small part of the story. The https://the2lads.com/ (2 LADS podcast) tackles big topics with brutal honesty and vulnerability; replacing shame and guilt with truth and love in the quest for emotional and spiritual growth. These conversations are unflinching, uncomfortable, funny... and ongoing.  JUMP STRAIGHT INTO: (02:23) - The various stages of what we expect love to be like - “You grow up and you think, ‘Somebody is meant to come in and complete me.' Then the next stage is to be disappointed with people not completing you and then taking it out on either them or yourself.” (06:19) - On self-love - “If you can wake up at three in the morning alone, and you're okay, when your brain can do the most crazy shit to yourself, and if you can sit there and go, ‘I'm okay. I am in control of this ship.' I think that takes time.” (08:36) - Fear can drive people into relationships - “In this society, doing that, having a long-term partner, getting married, all these kinds of things in the name of love is looked highly upon. It's easier to live in society if you buy into that.” (10:52) - Your relationships reflect where you're at in your life - “You attract the level you're at. There's no point in blaming the other person and saying, ‘Oh, they're mental. They're absolutely mental.' That's where you're at.” (17:19) - Attraction vs. Compatibility - “Sometimes I'm dating a lover and then it's chaos because there's no safety. It's all like chaos, but it's very passionate. Or I'm in safety, mothering, and there's no sex. There's no passion.” (19:08) - Trying to make sense of love and the the human experience - “I'm on this whole thing about love in the fact that we're all humans, and so we're all here in this consciousness, trying to fucking make sense of it all. What appeared to be a hot dumpster fire turned out to be some delicious hot fire in the form of Week 12 of our One Album a Day quest. Mike and Gary break down the great and the not so great of this week's music including three extremely (no seriously, extremely) different rap albums and a beautiful tale about a fox king who turns out to be a real A hole (is there any other kind of fox?) ---- Send us your music recommendations, thoughts, comments, questions, haiku's and crudely drawn music art to GaplessPlaybackPodcast@gmail.com or DM us on Instargram @GaplessPlaybackPodcast where we post the music that we listen to every day. Gary and Mike are joined by special guest host Matt aka Matty Ice (it's not an original nickname at all, Gary just started saying it and it stuck). Trucking along through Week 11 of one album a day, they are bringing the hotness from a bad ass mother of two sets of twins who rolls with a pistol with her baby wipes to a killer bluegrass band fronted by a man rockin' a stache and dreads.  ---- Send us your music recommendations, thoughts, comments, questions, haiku's and crudely drawn music art to GaplessPlaybackPodcast@gmail.com or DM us on Instargram @GaplessPlaybackPodcast where we post the music that we listen to every day. The boys are bringing the hot takes from Week 10 of listening to one album a week. Mike figures out he can't say 13 different band member names and their instruments without taking a breath. Gary gets existential. A really good song about menstruation. Big band hip hop, existentialism, O.C. the O.G.
