Carl Lewis and football writer Zach Lowy discuss players to watch in Group A of the World Cup in Qatar. Group A at the 2022 World Cup contains three-time losing finalists the Netherlands, reigning AFCON winners Senegal and hosts Qatar alongside South American qualifiers Ecuador. Group A Ecuador World ranking: 44 Coach: Gustavo Alfaro Confirmed 26-man squad: Moises Ramirez (Independiente del Valle), Alexander Dominguez (LDU Quito), Hernan Galindez (Aucas), Piero Hincapie (Bayer Leverkusen), Robert Arboleda (Sao Paulo), Pervis Estupinan (Brighton), Angelo Preciado (Genk), Jackson Porozo (Troyes), Xavier Arreaga (Seattle Sounders), Diego Palacios (Los Angeles FC), Felix Torres (Santos Laguna), William Pacho (Royal Antwerp), Carlos Gruezo (Augsburg), Jose Cifuente (Los Angeles FC), Alan Franco (Talleres), Moises Caicedo (Brighton), Angel Mena (Club Leon), Jeremy Sarmiento (Brighton), Jhegson Mendez (Los Angeles FC), Ayrton Preciado (Santos Laguna), Gonzalo Plata (Real Valladolid), Romario Ibarra (Santos Laguna), Djorkaeff Reasco (Newell's Old Boys), Kevin Rodriguez (Imbabura), Michael Estrada (Cruz Azul), Enner Valencia (Fenerbahce). Premier League representation comes exclusively from Brighton, with Moises Caicedo, Pervis Estupinan and Jeremy Sarmiento all making the cut.   Netherlands World ranking: 8 Coach: Louis van Gaal Confirmed 26-man squad:Justin Bijlow (Feyenoord), Remko Pasveer (Ajax), Andries Noppert (sc Heerenveen), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Nathan Ake (Manchester City), Daley Blind (Ajax), Jurrien Timber (Ajax) Denzel Dumfries (Internazionale),  Stefan de Vrij (Internazionale), Mathijs de Ligt (Bayern München), Tyrell Malacia (Manchester United), Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen), Frenkie de Jong (Barcelona), Steven Berghuis (Ajax), Davy Klaassen (Ajax), Teun Koopmeiners (Atalanta Bergamo), Cody Gakpo (PSV), Marten de Roon (Atalanta Bergamo), Kenneth Taylor (Ajax), Xavi Simons (PSV), Memphis Depay (FC Barcelona), Steven Bergwijn (Ajax), Vincent Janssen (Royal Antwerp FC), Luuk de Jong (PSV), Noa Lang (Club Brugge), Wout Weghorst (Besiktas) There will be no Giorginio Wijnaldum, Tim Krul or Bruno Martins Indi, a weakness maybe a relative lack of experience. Newcastle defender Sven Botman has also missed out.   Qatar World ranking: 50 Coach: Felix Sanchez Confirmed 26-man squad: Saad Al Sheeb (Al-Sadd), Yousef Hassan (Al-Gharafa), Meshaal Barsham (Al-Sadd), Ro-Ro (Al-Sadd), Abdelkarim Hassan (Al-Sadd), Boualem Khoukhi (Al-Sadd), Ismaeel Mohammad (Al-Duhail), Bassam Al-Rawi (Al-Duhail), Tarek Salman (Al-Sadd), Musab Kheder (Al-Sadd), Homam Ahmed (Al-Gharafa), Jassem Ghaber (Al-Arabi), Karim Boudiaf (Al-Duhail), Abdulaziz Hatem (Al-Rayyan), Ali Assadalla (Al-Sadd), Assim Madibo (Al-Duhail), Salem Al-Hajri (Al-Sadd), Mohammed Waad (Al-Sadd), Mostafa Tarek (Al-Sadd), Hassan Al-Haydos (Al-Sadd), Akram Afif (Al-Sadd), Almoez Ali (Al-Duhail), Mohammed Muntari (Al-Duhail), Ahmed Alaaeldin (Al-Gharafa), Khalid Muneer (Al-Wakrah), Naif Al-Hadhrami (Al-Rayyan). Captain Hassan Al-Haydos has an astonishing 169 caps.   Senegal World ranking: 18 Coach: Aliou Cisse Confirmed 26-man squad:Edouard Mendy (Chelsea), Seny Dieng (QPR), Alfred Gomis (Rennes), Youssouf Sabaly (Real Betis), Kalidou Koulibaly (Chelsea), Abdou Diallo (RB Leipzig), Pape Abou Cisse (Olympiacos), Formose Mendy (Amiens), Fode Ballo-Toure (AC Milan), Ismail Jakobs (Monaco), Idrissa Gueye (Everton), Cheikhou Kouyate (Nottingham Forest), Nampalys Mendy (Leicester), Pape Gueye (Marseille), Pape Sarr (Tottenham), Moustapha Name (Pafos), Mamadou Loum (Reading), Krepin Diatta (Monaco), Sadio Mane (Bayern Munich), Ismaila Sarr (Watford), Bamba Dieng (Marseille), Boulaye Dia (Salernitana), Famara Diedhiou (Alanyaspor), Nicolas Jackson (Villarreal), Iliman Ndiaye (Sheffield United) AFCON champions Senegal look well-placed to thrive in Qatar, with Cisse in his seventh year as manager with an experienced squad, a third of whom play in the Champions League, already used to success. Despite an injury sustained days before the squad announcement, Mane has been included. He probably would have been if his left leg fell off, to be fair.

Volleybal-coach Peter Murphy is daarvoor ingevlogen. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Support the show: https://krant.nlSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Druhé vydání fanouškovského speciálu Angličana rozebírá zranění Matěje Vydry, kterého napálil pěstmi do hlavy brankář Krul. V druhé části večera autor podcastu Jiří Hošek vyzpovídal Matěje Vydru a Tomáše Součka, české reprezentanty, kteří aktuálně působí v anglické Premier League. U mikrofonu nechyběl ani Karel Häring, sportovní novinář a šéf magazínu Football Club.Bezbranková remíza v rámci sedmého kola Premier League mezi Burnley a nováčkem z Norwiche přinesla i jeden okamžik, u kterého jistě zatrnulo kromě fanoušků domácích i všem českým fotbalovým příznivcům. Měla to být jednoznačně penalta, což potvrdili i fotbaloví experti v pondělním analytickém okénku televize Sky Sports včetně jednoho dalšího aktivního anglického sudího,“ komentuje ostrý střet Karel Häring. Kromě Garetha Balea by měl Velšanům chybět i Ben Davies, obránce Tottenhamu. Naopak my máme zase o něco silnější kádr. Co si myslí Matěj Vydra o českých fanoušcích a proč by mohl spát v pyžamu West Hamu?

See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Host Charlie Hawkins was joined by Ricky Sacks, Lee McQueen from the Last Word On Spurs and Jamie from the Daily Hotspur as the panel returned to Love Sport Radio. Tottenham were dumped out of the FA Cup on penalties by Norwich after missing three spot-kicks in the shootout, losing 3-2 after a 1-1 draw in normal time. Spurs looked in full control of the tie when Jan Vertonghen (13) showed great determination to head home following a Giovani Lo Celso set piece. However, roared on by 9,000 visiting fans, Norwich took advantage of Tottenham's lack of urgency in the second half and equalised when Michel Vorm - who was making his first start since 2018 - fumbled a Kenny McLean effort and Josip Drmic bundled home to take the game to extra-time. Both teams looked tired in the extra minutes, so penalties were needed to separate them. When McLean missed Norwich's first penalty, Spurs were odds-on to progress but some woeful spot-kicks from Troy Parrott, Erik Lamela and Gedson Fernandes meant visiting Tim Krul was the hero for the visitors. To compound matters for Spurs, there were ugly scenes at full-time as Eric Dier entered the stands and was seen clashing with a supporter, who was having an altercation with Dier's brother, according to Jose Mourinho. The panel also previewed Burnley to come in the Premier League on Saturday. #THFC #COYS #TOTTENHAMHOTSPUR #TOTTENHAM #HOTSPUR #SPURS

Liverpool have actually lost a league game, but all is not doom and gloom as Rebecca and Alex are back to find the positives. Naturally, we have to kick off with Chelsea beating Liverpool in the FA Cup as BILLY GILMOUR stole the headlines with his fantastic performance in midfield, while Kepa Arrizabalaga reminded everyone just how good a goalkeeper he still is. We delve into those improvements for Chelsea, as well as analysing the drop off in Liverpool's form since the winter break and whether there's any reason for Reds fans to panic after the back-to-back losses against Watford and Chelsea. Elsewhere, Man City won their third Carabao Cup in a row in an entertaining final against Aston Villa. We discuss how Villa made the final a contest, as well as looking at the performances of Tyrone Mings, Phil Foden, Claudio Bravo, and the ever calamitous John Stones. We also delve into Norwich's resurgence in the last week as they surprisingly bested Leicester in the league, before they less-surprisingly beat Tottenham in the FA Cup. We chat about penalty master Tim Krul, why Spurs are so shambolic at the moment, and try and make sense of Eric Dier's crowd altercation, as well as chatting about the level of abuse players experience in the modern game. There's also El Clasico to chat about as Barcelona continued to disappoint, while young and old players impressed for Real Madrid - as well as the bizarre situation in the Bundesliga as the match between Bayern Munich and Hoffenheim was temporarily halted. Plus, De Gea vs Pickford, defending Dejan, broken boilers, train wine, Donovan Spool, bathing in Irn Bru, Kepa and toilet paper, Giggs' consistency, Hawkeye Hendo, bruised elbows, Swerveland, and Leak Weagues. **Please take the time to rate and review us on iTunes or wherever you get your podcasts, as it makes it easier for other potential listeners to find us. London is Blue is a soccer fancast created by Chelsea FC fans from America and covers all things Chelsea. Hosts are @BBBusbee, @DanDormer and @NickVerlaney.   Chelsea at Newcastle United Barclays Premier League   GUEST: Robert, Managing Editor of Coming Home Newcastle (http://cominghomenewcastle.sbnation.com/) @BishopSBN   Talking Points: Newcastle won at home to end Chelsea’s unbeaten streak Most Chelsea fans used not having Matic as the excuse Newcastle are coming off a 3-1 loss to Man United and a 1-0 loss in the FA Cup to Leicester City Newcastle doesn’t have a manager at the moment, only a caretaker. This shouldn’t change too much though, right? I mean he’s essentially just maintaining what Pardew was doing. Rumors that Mike Ashley wants to sell the club. How does that affect the team’s focus? Sissoko rumored to be heading to PSG Chelsea are 9-0-0 at Stamford Bridge, but are coming off a heavy loss to Tottenham and an expected win against Watford in the FA Cup Chelsea don’t have any reported injuries nor anybody going to the African or Asian Cup thanks to Drogba turning down that opportunity Newcastle have two players at the African Cup: Papiss Cisse (thankfully!) and Cheick Tiote and 12 reported injuries mainly to the defensive unit, right? Tim Krul looks set to return though   Four Four Two Highlights Key Battle: Costa vs Dummett Newcastle have scored more goals via substitutes than anybody else (cough Cisse, cough) Chelsea score on 18% of shots and their shots are on frame 50% or the time (most in PL) Last 6 matches CFC: 3-1-2 Newcastle: 2-1-3 Standings CFC: 1st* Newcastle: 10th Past meeting:   December, 2014 - CFC 1-2 NUFC   Predictions Brandon: CFC 2-0 Newcastle Dan: CFC 2-0 Newcastle Nick: CFC 3-1 Newcastle Robert: CFC 2-1 Newcastle   Contact Us Tweet Us! https://twitter.com/LondonBluePod Email Us! mailto:londonisbluepodcast@gmail.com iTunes http://t.co/yrwBI6lfzn Stitcher http://bit.ly/1uZn8hZ Pocket Casts http://pcasts.in/feed/londonisbluepodcast.libsyn.com/rss SoundCloud http://soundcloud.com/londonis-blue --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/londonbluepod/support
