It closes the MSO / PC ""friendly physician"" loophole that corporations like Apollo MD use to get around existing laws in 34 states, and it kills non-competes and non-disparagement clauses so hospital-employed doctors can finally speak out. It's not perfect, nonprofit hospitals are exempt, but I support it. My answer to declining reimbursement isn't to sell to private equity, it's to work together: merge practices, form IPAs, unionize where employed. Physicians are terrible at group projects, and it's costing us.After the break, an update on GLP-1s and NAION now that the lawsuits are hitting mainstream media. The correlation is real, the causation isn't proven, and the comorbidities overlap heavily. Don't stop your GLP-1 based on a news story, talk to your doctor about your specific risk factors. But if you have sudden painless vision loss on the medication, see an eye doctor immediately. That's how long Alleigha Botner waited for Caleb Flynn to leave his wife Ashley — and psychotherapist Shavaun Scott tells Tony Brueski that the length of the wait is itself a clinical finding.Scott joins the conversation to map the psychology of the holding pattern at the center of the Caleb Flynn murder trial. Flynn wanted his wife, his children, his church reputation, and Botner. He wasn't choosing. He was collecting. Scott says the profile isn't just narcissistic — it's a specific form of entitlement where a man genuinely can't conceive that his double life has an expiration date.Botner's psychology is the other half. She gave Flynn a firm deadline in January: leave Ashley or this is done. He blew past it without acknowledgment. They broke up. On Valentine's Day, he reappeared, and she took him back. Just the two of them and Bodie's niece Zoe. In their best year they billed just under $2 million together. Not a 20-person firm. Not a scaled team. Two people and an admin. But the story that got them there is the one nobody talks about. In 2009, less than 18 months into his career, Bodie billed $11,250 for the entire year. Wife at home, kid in kindergarten, on a draw. He interviewed for a Coca-Cola route job at $50,000. He turned it down because the cap would lock his upside forever. Then he spent the rest of the year in a dark makeshift office wondering if he had made the worst decision of his life. He hadn't. In 2010 he pivoted to upstream oil and gas and built the practice from scratch. By 2014 he was billing $800,000 a year. Then OPEC crashed the oil market the day before Thanksgiving and he had to walk away from everything he had built. In 2016 he restarted in construction, in Dallas, from zero. In 2023 he and Daniel bought the business and launched Blackwood Partners. In this conversation Bodie tells Benjamin what does not make it into a Pinnacle Society speech. The 8 months in jail he chose over 2 years of probation because control mattered more than comfort. The letter he wrote to the warden every day for a month. The wife who trusted him when he could not trust himself. And the reason he refuses to scale even though a 15-person firm would love to hit the numbers his 2-person shop hits. He also gets tactical.
