Episode 80: in this special episode of Heartline, the tables are turned as Dr. Andrea Austin takes the guest seat to discuss her newly released book, "Revitalized: A Guidebook to Following Your Healing Heartline." Hosted by Dr. Resa E. Lewiss, this conversation delves into the heart of Dr. Austin's transformative journey and the insights she shares in her book. Dr. Austin opens up about the profound impact writing this book has had on her personal growth and professional outlook. She describes it as "the biggest gift to myself," highlighting how the process allowed her to reflect, connect past experiences to the present, and forgive herself for past mistakes. A Unique Approach to Healthcare Challenges What sets "Revitalized" apart from other self-help books is its focus on empathetic individuals in healthcare. Dr. Austin addresses the struggles of those who find themselves compromising their values in a dysfunctional system, offering a path to maintain integrity and compassion without feeling drained. The book incorporates self-reflection questions at the end of each chapter, providing readers with a form of self-coaching. This interactive approach empowers healthcare professionals to harness their agency and navigate the complexities of their field. Exploring Burnout and Moral Injury Dr. Austin dives into the nuances of burnout and moral injury in healthcare. She uses the metaphor of a tree to illustrate how burnout is merely the visible symptom, while the root causes - such as moral injury or gender bias - lie deeper beneath the surface. Personal Stories and Vulnerability Throughout the conversation, Dr. Austin shares personal anecdotes that resonate deeply: Her experience with "living apart together" during a career move The impact of changing institutions on professional growth The significance of her relationship with her hairstylist and other professionals that have contributed to her healing These stories highlight the importance of self-care, breaking cycles of negative self-talk, and finding unexpected sources of support in one's healing journey. Practical Advice for Healing For those beginning their own healing journey, Dr. Austin recommends starting with the book "What Happened to You?" by Oprah and Bruce Perry. She emphasizes the importance of understanding trauma, not only for personal growth but also for becoming a more empathetic healthcare provider. Dr. Austin also discusses the power of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy and other somatic approaches in processing trauma, highlighting the limitations of talk therapy alone. A Call to Action As the conversation draws to a close, Dr. Austin expresses her concerns about the current state of societal division and encourages listeners to engage in active listening, connect with others, and use their agency to vote and make a positive impact in their communities and workplaces. This episode offers a heartfelt and insightful look into Dr. Andrea Austin's journey of self-discovery and her mission to help others in healthcare find their path to revitalization. It's a must-listen for anyone seeking to navigate the challenges of the healthcare system while maintaining their compassion and integrity. Hello my loves, Today we have another guest on the Podcast. I am beyond thrilled to introduce Tifani Truelove!Tifani Truelove merges the sacred work of the healer and the artist through a range of creative modalities including photography, analog collage, bodywork, energy healing, and the tarot. The conversation between these two parts of herself began while attending the art institute of Philadelphia. Noticing there were emotional blocks that were keeping her from making the work she wanted to make, she simultaneously enrolled in The Pennsylvania school and spiritual healing and began working through them energetically. Learning about the anatomy of the chakras and stepping into the healer while developing herself as an artist  in the shadows of the darkroom, her creative life began to transform.  Tifani is now dedicated to helping others find the bridge between the healer and the artist within themselves.   She is rooted within the belief that consciously engaging with the creative process is MAGIC.She believes the process of conscious creation is a direct line to the wisdom of Spirit and guides her clients into deeper intimacy with the creative work that is calling to their hearts. Through the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies she cultivates a space for loving connection and reflection and inspires clients to take courageous and soulful action towards living their most authentic lives, believing in the power of their magic, reclaiming their heART, and creating their greatest body of work. Tifani empowers her clients to tap into their creative energy, trust their intuition, and ground deep into the wisdom of their divine bodies. Guiding them into a deeper understanding of their own body of work, she helps them to channel their art through building the confidence they need to step into the vulnerability of the creative process and to get real with the way they feel. Helping them locate the well of their own creative wisdom and building trust with the guidance of their infinite Spirit. In between clients you can find her snuggling up to the love of her life, Joe,  working on the upcoming release of her first oracle deck, observing light through her yashica viewfinder, or answering calls on The Heartline. Check Out Tifani's Website Find Tifani on IG ********************************************Join The Lightworkers AcademyReserve Your Soul SessionSign Up for Customizable Coaching HereSign up for the free newsletterLet's Be Friends on IGLeave me a ReviewLet's be Friends on Tiktok

In 1969, Don Rainsford took over the reins of the daily service programs where listeners could call in to seek advice from a vet, lawyer, marriage counsellor, or Martha Gardener, at 12.30 each day.  This left an opening at 1.30pm, Don's previous timeslot.  So 3AW introduced Tommy Hanlon Jr with a program called Tommy Hanlon's Heart Line”. The idea was simple.  Callers would phone in with a request for something they needed or wanted, each call over the hour would be given a number, and at the end of the show a winner would be announced and their request would be granted. One wish would be granted every day. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

With a long list of releases under his belt on some of the worlds’ most influential labels, Dave Pezzner continues to re-define perceptions with his latest album on Get Physical Music. ‘Title Track’ is Pezzner’s 9 track album that sways between the footholds of house, techno and ambient with a healthy touch of experimental where it counts. Known for his unconventional approach to dance music, Pezzner is no slave to the beat (see ‘Heartline’), although rest assured, he definitely knows how to lay on down. Tracks like ‘The Jackal’ tease us the whole way through, while delivering a heavy dose of underground in the process. He’s not afraid to lead us off onto a tangent either, on a journey through his world before returning us to the warmth with the drop. Of course the album has its dancefloor fillers as well, ‘Julie’ is one of them. A sexy house-y approach that pumps out a hands-in-the-air groove and delivers on all fronts. Of course we can’t talk about dancefloor fillers without mentioning the title track of ‘Title Track’, a low track that delivers under the radar with its erratic and captivating bassline and synths. Pezzner’s strongest suit is melody and harmony, keeping the music is focus and letting the atmosphere take hold, something we’ve come to expect and love. Alongside the album, Pezzner has prepared a continuous mix for the full effect, so pull the headphones on and let it take you for a ride.

They have been living in Haiti for many years now and she works with Heartline Ministries and is a midwife. They average about 6-8 births a month at Heartline, and invest in the mom's lives from the beginning of pregnancy, during labor, and for post pregnancy support. On this episode Tara and I discuss a lot about parenting. She's currently mom to seven that range from the age of 7 to early twenties. We also discussed short term missions and what that looks like to us Americans versus the Haitians. She gives us all great advice on how we serve the Haitian people in a healthy way.
