They explore the cultural expectations that often accompany conversion, particularly in Western societies, where individuals may approach faith with a mindset focused on personal improvement and material success. Joshua emphasizes the importance of understanding that true transformation in faith is an internal process, contrasting it with the external metrics often sought in church communities. He argues that many believers, especially younger generations, are seeking God on their own terms, which can lead to a disconnect between their expectations and the biblical understanding of discipleship. The conversation delves into the necessity of accountability and transparency in the Christian walk. Joshua highlights the dangers of a superficial faith that prioritizes public appearances over genuine internal growth. He encourages new believers to embrace a 'death to self' mentality, fostering relationships that promote honesty and accountability. The episode concludes with practical steps for new believers to engage in their faith journey, emphasizing the need for deep, meaningful relationships that challenge and support spiritual growth. Overall, this episode serves as a call to return to the core principles of Christianity, focusing on internal transformation rather than external validation.TakeawaysTrue transformation is an internal process, not external metrics.New believers often come with cultural baggage expecting God to improve their lives.Accountability is essential for genuine spiritual growth.Death to self is the first step for new believers.Relationships built on honesty are crucial for discipleship.

What does it actually mean to live The Impossible Life? In this episode, Garrett Unclebach and Nick Surface break down the vision behind the podcast and the deeper meaning of living a life that looks “impossible” to the world but is fully possible with God.You'll hear the origin story of the podcast, why “possible” became the foundation, and how the Impossible Life isn't about self-help—it's about full surrender, biblical transformation, and becoming a living demonstration of what Christianity actually looks like in real life.Garrett and Nick unpack 5 core pillars of the Impossible Life: submission to God, wanting greatness (God's definition), identity, belief, and principles—and how each one builds a man who is resilient, disciplined, purpose-driven, and fully aligned with God's plan. For most of us, being humble is easier in theory than it is in practice. Reaching out in Christian Love and kindness often means being a peacekeeper and letting go of the need to be right or to win an argument. God wants us to walk with humility at work, on social media, and at home. When we're frustrated with someone across the table or online, considering the words and deeds of others through the lens of Jesus' sacrificial love for us can bring clarity. Our scripture for today is Ephesians 4:1–3, which says, “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”Let's pray. Lord, we live in a world that praises getting the last word. Being the loudest voice, or the winner of every argument is not your will for us. Bless us with the spirit of humility and guide us in being peacekeepers online and in person. Mary is the best known, least known woman in history. Billions recognize her name, yet the actual Jewish woman behind the icons has been almost completely erased. In this powerful conversation, Dr. James Tabor, Distinguished Fellow at Hebrew University and two-time New York Times bestselling author, reveals what 20 years of research, archaeology, and critical scholarship have uncovered about the real Mary. What emerges is not the passive, silent figure of tradition, but a revolutionary Jewish matriarch who shaped the teachings of Jesus, ran the headquarters of the early movement from Mount Zion, and whose voice we still hear in the Beatitudes.Dr. Tabor takes us into the violent, politically charged world Mary lived through: mass crucifixions in the Galilee, Herod murdering his own family, and the constant threat facing anyone with Davidic lineage. He reveals the urban setting most people miss (Sepphoris, a major city just four miles from Nazareth), makes the case that Luke's genealogy is actually Mary's lineage showing she was "doubly royal" (descended from both King David and the priestly line of Aaron), and addresses the question most scholars avoid: the mysterious name Pantera that appears in early Jewish sources. This is history that will reshape how you understand Christianity's origins. In this episode you will learn:- Why Mary is the "most erased" woman in history and how it happened deliberately- The shocking urban context of Jesus's upbringing (Sepphoris was a major city of 30,000 people just 4 miles from Nazareth)- How Mary likely witnessed the mass crucifixions and burning of Sepphoris when Jesus was an infant- The case for James (not John) being the "beloved disciple" at the cross- Why the brothers and sisters of Jesus are real biological siblings, not stepchildren or cousins- The evidence that Luke's genealogy is actually Mary's lineage, making her "doubly royal"- What early Jewish sources in Sepphoris actually say about "Yeshua ben Pantera" (and why it's not an insult)- How Mary functioned as the matriarch who shaped Jesus's nonviolent, revolutionary teachings- The connection between Isaiah 11, Mary's vision, and Jesus's Beatitudes- Why three of Mary's sons (Jesus, James, and Simon) were murdered because of their lineageGet Dr. Tabor's new book "The Lost Mary: Rediscovering the Mother of Jesus"More from Dr. James Tabor:Blog: https://jamestabor.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JamesTaborVideosPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/jamesdtaborAlso check out Dr. Tabor's bestsellers:"The Jesus Dynasty""Paul and Jesus: How the Apostle Transformed Christianity"Subscribe to The Dig In Podcast:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thejohnnyovaFollow Johnny Ova:https://linktr.ee/johnnyovaGet Johnny's book- The Revelation Reset

God's Word is not just a book—it is living, powerful truth meant to be rightly understood, rightly divided, and approached with a heart that genuinely seeks God. In this message, “God's Word Is...,” Duane Sheriff teaches foundational truths about how to read the Bible, interpret Scripture in context, and why understanding covenants, divisions, and the centrality of Jesus is essential to spiritual growth. The central thread running through every page is Jesus Christ—the story of humanity's fall, our utter hopelessness without God, and the divine intervention that saves us. When we approach Scripture with reverence and a pure heart, something supernatural happens. The Word becomes more than information - it becomes transformation. It sanctifies us, cleanses our minds like a spiritual washing, and separates us from the darkness of this world. We discover that every sacrifice, every temple ritual, every prophecy was pointing to Jesus. When we understand that God's Word is truth, seed, food, and covenant all at once, we unlock a power that can literally rewire our thinking and redirect our lives.

It was coined in a 1958 novel written by the British social scientist Michael Young. In the dystopia that Young imagined, the old order has been overthrown and replaced with a tyrannical system obsessed with merit. Today's guest not only joins Young in his critique of meritocracy, he also takes a further bold step in endorsing some extremely old fashioned ideas about wealth, family, and legacy. In an age when celebrities routinely boast about their plans to disinherit their children and leave them to fend for themselves financially, Johann Kurtz makes a counter-cultural argument for nepotism. Do not give your money to charity, he says. Do not encourage your children to launch themselves into the meritocratic rat race. Learn, instead, from the ancient practices of aristocrats who had very different ideas about how to cultivate virtue in their descendants. Kurtz is the author of the 'Becoming Noble' Substack. We have a very special conversation to share with you that, although not explicitly horror-centric, absolutely sits in the landscape of "exploring what scares us to find what saves us." In 2014, friend of the show, author, and ethicist Dr. David Gushee published CHANGING OUR MIND, a thoughtfully researched, sensitive, and bold call for the Evangelical church to rethink traditional religious teaching about LGBTQ+ inclusion. Incorporating scriptural exegesis, crucial historical context, and scientific and sociological developments, Dr. Gushee makes the compelling case for us to re-examine how we've treated, talked about, and engaged with the LGBTQ+ community as a body of faith. The work was challenging, controversial, and -- for countless congregations -- extremely helpful.Nathan Rouse first read the text shortly after its publication, which he describes as "giving his theology permission to go where his spirit was leading". It was largely the book that prompted and inspired Nathan to first invite Dr. Gushee as a guest on the show. Now, all these years later, Dr. Gushee joins Nathan to discuss the book's central interests and share the heart behind its key convictions. It's a heartfelt and thought-provoking conversation that we hope will both challenge and inspire you in equal measure. Please note, this episode contains a moment of brief, uncensored language.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Because of winter weather, we had the opportunity to hear from both Cory and Phil this week. In Philippians 2:12–30, they explore four marks of a church that shines—obedience without pride, joy without grumbling, service without self-interest, and sacrifice without self-promotion. This message invites us to practice faithful, joy-filled lives as God works in and through His people.Catch the sermon on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or bridge.tv/sermons.To support this ministry and help us continue our God given mission, click here: http://bit.ly/2NZkdrC Support the show

One of the most commonly misunderstood questions in modern Christianity is: "Can I lose my salvation?" Pastor David Blevins makes a critical distinction between losing salvation unintentionally and intentionally rejecting salvation, a reality the Bible identifies as apostasy. Drawing from the Old Testament history of Israel, the warnings of Jesus, the writings of Paul, and the strong language of Hebrews 6, the message shows that apostasy is not God revoking someone's salvation, but rather people turning away from covenant loyalty to Him.   Salvation is framed not as mere religious affiliation or intellectual belief, but as loyalty to the King and His Kingdom. David warns of the growing pressures of fear, deception, and false teaching in the last days. The ultimate protection against apostasy is not emotional assurance, but a faith that continues to grow into greater hope; a hope that remains captivated by salvation and actively pursues the Savior.

In Acts 4, we are given a snapshot of what life looks like when resurrection power moves beyond a moment and into a community. This message explores how the Holy Spirit reshapes everyday life, not just our beliefs or worship gatherings. We see a church formed by covenant rather than convenience, marked by deep commitment to one another, a transformed relationship with possessions, and a shared responsibility for those in need.Rather than mastering spiritual content, the early church was shaped by the living presence of Jesus. Their unity, generosity, and care for one another became a visible witness to the resurrection. Not through programs or pressure, but through a reordered way of life. This teaching invites us to consider how resurrection life takes shape in ordinary spaces. Our relationships, our resources, and our response to need. It is a call to move from consumer Christianity toward a rooted, shared life centered on Jesus.

2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - The book of 2 Corinthians betrays a strained relationship between Paul and the church of Corinth. Even though he brought the good news of the gospel to these people, and even though he started the initial congregation, they turned on him. The relationship was cold and distant and so at the end of chapter 6, Paul explains the cause. The believers in Corinth were intermingling with unbelievers. They were toying with sin. They mistakenly thought they could blend Christianity and worldliness. But in the end, they were contaminated and their relationship with Paul was compromised. The way back home for distant Christians is to root out evil and run towards holiness in the fear of God. May the Lord teach all of us that lesson as we gather in worship this weekend.

The plans are in place for a global war encompassing the United States, Russia, China, Iran, and Israel. Palantir's Alex Karp guarantees it. Right on schedule we are being told that Osama Bin Laden's son is planning terrorists attacks in the U.S. on hospitals by pretending to be doctors. The narrative is already established that Muslims want to burn down all Christian churches. But who blows up hospitals and churches, and who dresses like someone else to do it on occasion? It isn't the Muslim. Furthermore, who just labeled Christianity as a hate group? The ADL, not the Muslim brotherhood. The stage is set and plan in place to the next 911 as not merely a trigger for war but as a justification for the forced acceptance of the digital global ID run by Oracle and OpenAI among others. On this special Friday edition of the show, we watch and listen to a short mockumentary from 2008 called The Orion Conspiracy. The film is a briefing of important officials on issues such as UFOs, giant bones, pyramids, psychic powers, occultism, and even 9/11. Its purpose was to show how gullible people are; and it worked far beyond what the director intended to be more of a joke. Countless laughably fake images from the film have been shared at conferences, in documentaries, on television, etc. The most famous by far is an image of a UFO crashed in the ice of Antarctica.*The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements.
