TVC 671.5: Part 2 of a conversation that began last week with Stefanie Powers, the actress known around the world as Jennifer Hart on Hart to Hart (ABC, 1979-1984) and the founder and president of the William Holden Wildlife Foundation (WHWF.org). Topics this segment include Stefanie's work as chair of the Seasoned Performers Committee for both the L.A. Local and the National Board Committee of Seniors for SAG-AFTRA, where she continues to deal with the recent lawsuits over ageism and recent insurance issues for SAG members. She also shares a few memories of co-starring with Harold Gould on The Feather and Father Gang (ABC, 1976-1977), as well as the story of how she and Robert Wagner met St. Pope John Paul II in Italy in the summer of 1983, just before they went to Greece to film the season premiere of Hart to Hart that year. Stefanie Powers is also featured in Vision for the Future: Capturing Inspiring Stories from Leaders and Changemakers, a new anthology eBook that profiles twenty-five visionaries who not only are making a significant impact in their respective fields, but are dedicated to making the world a better place through hope, action, and lasting change. Vision for the Future recognizes Stefanie for her work with WHWF.org, the nonprofit organization that Stefanie established in 1982 that continues and furthers the conservation work of William Holden in East Africa. TVC 670.4: Ed welcomes back Stefanie Powers, the actress known around the world as Jennifer Hart on Hart to Hart (ABC, 1979-1984), and the founder and president of the William Holden Wildlife Foundation, a nonprofit organization that Stefanie established in 1982 in memory of her longtime life partner that continues and furthers the conservation work of William Holden in East Africa. Something completely different to the usual fare this time: a little while back I picked my five favourite spy novels for the Spybrary podcast. For a variation from the usual Never Mind The Podcasts fare, take a listen to what I picked, and why those in politics so often like spy stories: Anthony Price features, of course. As does (ssssh! former spy) Paddy Ashdown and US President Lyndon B Johnson, subject of perhaps the best non-fiction book and one with a brilliant narrator too. In coincidental related news, I discovered recently that the author of the standard book on the history of the early years of campaigning for proportional representation was a Communist, and possibly a Russian spy. The author is Jennifer Hart and the book is Proportional Representation: Critics of the British Electoral System 1820-1945. Show notes The Spybrary Podcast. The Spybrary Facebook group.

For 12 years, sex education advocates in Massachusetts have been pushing for a comprehensive bill to become law. But for 12 years, that proposal has floundered. The Healthy Youth Act would standardize sex education in schools that choose to participate. Right now, sex education is “completely unregulated” in Massachusetts, said Jaclyn Friedman, chair of the Healthy Youth Act Coalition. “In some school districts, they have policy on the books. Worcester and Boston provide, for example, great sex education that actually will be perfectly in line with the Healthy Youth Act when it passes,” Friedman told Under the Radar. “But in many communities, there is nothing on the books at all. And so, you might get no sex and relationships education. You might get really harmful propaganda that teaches shame about girls and sexuality, LGBTQ students and sexuality. You might get misinformation, or you might get good sex education. It's completely the luck of the draw.” But now supporters think the bill could pass in coming months — especially with Gov. Maura Healey in office. “We have a strong supporter in Healey's administration,” said Jennifer Hart, vice president of education, learning and engagement at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. “Massachusetts is a trailblazer in all of these areas and now in a post-Roe landscape, we really need to double down on making sure that our young people have all the information that they need to be able to delay sex, to decrease unintended pregnancy, to improve their own health overall.” Hart said all the pieces of the puzzle are coming together, and that she is optimistic Massachusetts will soon implement sex ed standards. Even if the bill stalls, change may be on the horizon. Healey has recently proposed new updates to Massachusetts' health education framework that could bypass the state Legislature. The draft framework will be reviewed by the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education on June 27. If the draft is approved to be sent out for comment, the public will have 60 days to weigh in. GUESTS Jennifer Hart, vice president of education, learning and engagement at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts Jaclyn Friedman, chair of the Healthy Youth Act Coalition and executive director of Educate Us, a sex education advocacy organization

We had a great conversation with country artist Jennifer Hart .We talked about many things from family, her new album "1992". music, sacrifices, she told some great stories to a whole lot more!Originally from Gilbert, Arizona, Jennifer Hart (formerly known as Jennifer Smestad) is a Country singer-songwriter who now calls Music City home. Moving to Nashville in 2016, with nothing but a Bible and clear vision, Hart has carved her own unique path and recently signed to RECORDS Nashville as her viral “Half The Man” entered the TOP 10 US iTunes Sales Chart, while continuing to garner millions of streams on DSPs and hundreds-of-thousand uses on TikTok resulting in well over 20 million views. After finding moderate streaming success with “Find Me Here,” about her sister's miscarriage, Jennifer said “it was a huge passion project for me and one of the most meaningful songs to me.” This fine-tuned her focus to include songs that carry personal meaning. She followed up with “Half The Man,” about her Father in February 2020. Upon the success of “Half The Man,” Hart immediately started hearing from record labels, ultimately finding a home with Barry Weis's RECORDS. City Limits Phoenix stated, “Hart has emerged as one of Nashville's most impressive young artists. She's smart and thoughtful, with a playful, sassy side that quickly endears her to audiences.” She has been singing as long as anyone can remember and began writing her own songs at the age of 10; however, she first entered the public spotlight through the Miss America Organization in which she was crowned Miss Arizona 2013 and advanced to the Miss America Competition. It was this opportunity that allowed her the platform to share her story of overcoming Tourette Syndrome, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Social Anxiety. She has been featured on Us Weekly, The Today Show, Daily Mail and other major international networks, but most importantly she has had the chance to touch the lives of so many others who have struggled with the same or similar challenges. Never afraid of hard work, Hart believes she needs to continually push to better herself and this shows in her music. “Every time I push myself to do the very thing that scares me, I feel empowered and even more inspired to conquer all of my other fears.” The desire to work hard, push herself and reach people promises a bright future for Jennifer and her upcoming music.
[Story inspired Artful Steph to create "DeVonte's Hart".www.artfulsteph.com] Jennifer Jean Hart(June 4, 1979[3]) and Sarah Margaret Hart (April 8, 1979,[3] née Gengler) were both from South Dakota; Jennifer originated from Huron, Sarah from Big Stone City, although some sources claim Ortonville, Minnesota – adjacent to Big Stone City – as Sarah's hometown.[4][5][6] Both women were the eldest children of their families. Jennifer had 2 siblings and Sarah had 3 siblings.[7] According to her father, Jennifer was not initially raised as a Lutheran but was baptized as one.[5] Jennifer attended Huron High School.[5] Sarah attended high school in Minnesota.[8] The 2 women attended and began their relationship at Northern State University (NSU);[9] Sarah had initially attended University of Minnesota for 1 semester before transferring to NSU,[8] while Jennifer started at Augustana University before transferring in 1999.[5] Both women majored in elementary education,[8] with Sarah focusing on special education. After Sarah graduated in 2002, Jennifer left the university without herself graduating.[9][5] In 2005, Sarah asked a local court to have her last name altered to match her partner's.[10] The couple went to Connecticut to be married in 2009; at the time same-sex marriage was not yet legal in every U.S. state.[11] On Facebook Jennifer stated that the women were initially closeted and faced ostracism once they publicly outed themselves, prompting the couple to move.[9] They moved to Alexandria, Minnesota, in 2004,[12] where both women worked at a Herberger's store.[13] Jennifer worked miscellaneous jobs until she became a stay-at-home mom in 2006, while Sarah became a manager at Herberger's.[12] After a period of living in West Linn, Oregon,[14] the Harts moved to an unincorporated area near Woodland, Washington;[15] Sarah became a manager at a Kohl's in Hazel Dell.[16] The couple were living near Woodland at the time of the murders.[14] The Harts received funds from the state of Texas, covering their 6 adopted children, which accounted for almost 50% of the family's income.[17][16] Members of Jennifer's and Sarah's families stated that the 2 women distanced themselves from them, even though both families were accepting of their sexual orientation.[18] Jennifer estranged herself from her father after 2001.[5] State govt. reports stated that the couple cut off contact with their relatives because of criticism about their parenting.[19] On March 26, 2018, Jennifer Hart murdered all 6 of their children, including Sarah when Jennifer drove their vehicle, a GMC Yukon XL,[13] over a 100-ft. (30 m) cliff on California State Route 1, in Mendocino County, California, near Westport.[33][11] The bodies of 5 of the children (Hannah, Markis, Jeremiah, Abigail, and Ciera) were found in or nearby the vehicle, which landed upside down on a beach below the cliff. The body of Devonte has not been found.[11][34] A superior court judge ruled that Devonte was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and a death certificate was signed on April 3, 2019.[35] Authorities determined that the Yukon had been intentionally driven off the edge of the cliff.[11] The car had a black box that recorded parameters of the drive and fall.[36] A 14 member coroner's jury unanimously ruled the case a murder–suicide.[34][33][37] The inquest was called to determine cause of death, but not any responsibility in the civil or criminal fields.[38] The California Highway Patrol stated that criminal prosecution was not possible due to the deaths of any responsible parties.[39] Toxicology results showed that Jennifer's blood alcohol content was over the legal limit at the time of the crash,[11][34] and that both Sarah and 2 of the children had diphenhydramine in their systems.[34] Sarah had made Google searches before the crash, inquiring about Benadryl, no kill shelters, and the nature of drowning.[33] The Mendocino County Sheriff's Dept. officially closed the case.

On today's episode, we discuss transportation infrastructure in Ghana. Who goes where, when, and how in Accra is political, informed by urban geography, colonial history, culture, and technology. What ideas of progress and nation are embedded in roads, and how do ordinary citizens navigate the political economy of transportation infrastructure? To find out more, Enoch Osei Koduah sat down with Jennifer Hart, associate professor of African history at Wayne State University. Her research challenges modernist visions of technology and infrastructure in Ghanaian history, emphasizing instead, how Africans imagined alternative futures for themselves, and appropriated technologies for indigenous use. Her 2016 book, Ghana on the Go: African Mobility in the Age of Motor Transportation, details the development of Ghana's cultures of automobility, throughout the 20th century. Her current work on DIY urbanism in Africa attends to vernacular uses of infrastructure, in order to explore decolonial models for urban planning.

TVC 575.5: Part 1 of a two-part conversation with Stefanie Powers, the actress known around the world as The Girl from U.N.C.L.E. and Jennifer Hart on Hart to Hart, and the founder and president of the William Holden Wildlife Foundation, a nonprofit organization that Stefanie established in 1982 in memory of her long-time life partner that continues and furthers Holden's conservation work in East Africa. Stefanie gives us a glimpse into the William Holden she knew during the nine years they spent together (including the many ways in which Holden fueled Stefanie's lifelong passion for travel, adventure, animal preservation and protection, and life itself), while also debunking some of the myths about the Academy Award-winning actor.
A murder–suicide which took place on March 26, 2018, when Jennifer Hart and her wife, Sarah Hart, murdered their six adopted children – Ciera (aged 12), Abigail (14), Jeremiah (14), Devonte (15), Hannah (16), and Markis (19) – and themselves by driving the family's sport utility vehicle off a cliff in Mendocino County, California, United States. Jennifer Hart was in the driver's seat, and Sarah Hart was in the front passenger seat.

The Pink Collar team is wishing you a happy Thanksgiving! We hope you enjoy your day off and stay safe during this holiday. Nathalie and Rachel teamed up to tackle the case of Jennifer and Sarah Hart. Jennifer and Sarah were two white women who adopted six black children from the foster care system. On their social media, they portrayed themselves as a happy, progressive family. It was shocking to many when the family died as a result of a horrific car wreck. When the police began to investigate, they found a history of child abuse reports. The more they learned, the less the wreck seemed like an accident and more like a way for Jennifer and Sarah to escape the repeated allegations against them. We also discuss how the children ended up in the foster care system, including the story of Dontay Davis. Jennifer and Sarah adopted his siblings, Devonte, Jeremiah, and Ciera, but declined to adopt 9-year-old Dontay because of his "behavioral issues". Dontay felt rejected because he was "bad" and carried the guilt of not being able to be there for his younger siblings. We discuss recent reforms in the foster care system, including some changes we hope to see. It’s the first episode of the husband and wife derring-do caper soap, “Hart to Hart!” Did you know your whole murder plot can unravel just because you used the word, “‘Frisco?” From the mutated DNA strain of Nick and Nora Charles, comes the hyper-sexualized, feather-haired, crime-fighting couple, Jonathan and Jennifer Hart. Listen in as we break down everything in this murder-for-hire-out-of-a-pet-store episode as Jennifer Hart is the target of a hit because Jonathan is about to uncover a huge scandal at the shipping yard. If that doesn’t make sense, don’t worry, because no one really investigates that plot after it’s introduced. From Jennifer’s apparent misapprehension on how to carry a briefcase to the hitman’s byzantine and convoluted plan to murder Jennifer … by moving in with them. The family portrayed on social media by Jennifer Hart seemed perfect. She and her wife, Sarah, were a progressive and loving couple with six adopted black children. Pictures on Facebook showed two moms giving their disadvantaged children a better life. Never mind that the pictures looked posed and the children were rail thin.Real life for the Hart children was far from perfect. A trail of abuse followed the family from Minnesota, to Oregon, to Washington, until Jennifer Hart drove the family’s SUV off a California cliff. Join us at the quiet end for The Hart Family Tragedy. This case is a disturbing example of unchecked child abuse, failures in the foster care and adoption system, and a society that doesn’t value children enough to intervene on their behalf. In the final analysis, Jen and Sarah Hart were responsible for the children’s deaths, but that doesn’t mean that there was no way the tragedy could have been prevented.

Mary Payne travels to New York to visit with Justine Harman and Liz Egan, editors at Glamour Magazine and the hosts of the podcast Broken Harts. This true crime podcast investigates married couple Jennifer and Sarah Hart and their six adopted children. Jennifer Hart drove the family off a California cliff to their deaths in March 2018. The two hosts share explain that it is not their intent to solve the murders, but rather tell a side of the story that may not otherwise be felt or heard. In the podcast, they examine the social media “life” that Jennifer lived versus the way her life actually was. It is evident that the podcast is aimed at not only telling the story of the children’s deaths, but also give a glimpse into the faults of the adoption system today, particularly in Texas. The two women reveal the difficulties and feelings that come along with doing a true crime podcast.
In March of 2018, Jennifer Hart drove her SUV occupied by all 8 of the Hart family off a Northern California cliffside, plunging 100 feet onto the jagged surf below, killing all 8. The post [Bonus] The Tale of the Hart Family appeared first on Orbital Jigsaw.
